>DKC [is a] rip off of Sonic
not really. Like it's a platformer where the characters are animals and a you have a partner, but that's about it. The rest of is fairly different. Having a partner works different too where is kind of like a life bar, and you can ride on animals, and there's an overworld map, and the visuals are different, and the shooting barrels mechanic thing and all that. It's as much of a rip off of sonic as sonic is a rip off of mario

Crash is a ripoff of Hugo.
DKC is a ripoff of Mario (hold button to run control scheme, Sonic doesn't have that)
DKC had DK redesigned into a very "cool western appeal" look as opposed to the traditional Nintendo image, I only imagine Sonic inspired that, especially since it's an animal franchise.
Crash is an animal who's very 90s and fights a mad scientist and his robotic drones, pretty similar story wise.
The Game Boy game was pretty good.
Then again, I was probably 6 years old when I last played it and abandoned it when Mom got me Link's Awakening for my birthday.
i played the SNES one a few times. It was a bit more like a racing game. Racing on your own though because there weren't any other racers. Really it wasn't very good, was ok for a half hour or something but got boring and repetitive quickly
>"Blah blah blah yakkity-smakkity!"
Crash is a ripoff of Hugo and Taz.
Also that Génesis Taz-Mania game ruled. Some bullshit but full of soul and decent level design. Experimental a bit.
Crash as a game is a rip off of DKC.
Crash and DKC are both rip offs of Sonic, but Crash is a rip off of both Sonic and DKC simultaneously.

Game Gear game has some great music

>More like Ripoff
The funniest about this is that one of the Crash devs claims cartoon-like animation had never been done in video games before them.
The ego on these fricking guys.
What other polygonal games had cartoon-like animations before Crash?
The sound effects and context sensitive music make this feel like such an acid trip.
