My Crash related questions: Is the old PS2 Crash 4 better than the new 4 we got? Is Crash Twinsanity worth to play?

      Anonymous

Wrath of cortex is just 3 with even worse vehicle levels. Which is to say if you prefer classic crash you will prefer that over 4.

As for twinsanity it's so wildly different from the rest of the series that you are better off just acquiring the rom and trying it yourself.

It's a better eject sequence than Exteel had; shits offline now. Yes I'm salty. Don't be mad, get glad.

Imagine playing a live service game, let alone spending money on it. Lmao you get what you deserve.

At least the game is staying playable. These things have ended worse than this. Also, if you paid money for this blatant asset flip on the least beloved version of crash short of the "tribal tattoo era," not knowing it would end like this VERY shortly after, I question your IQ. This was so obviously a last ditch cash grab for them.

CTRNF also had its content discontinued, am I low IQ?

At least Team Racing was pretty beloved and treated fans really well, resurrecting all kinds of fan favorite characters and even playing with fan reception like making "Fixed Rilla Roo" light-heartedly poking fun at themselves. Who were Activision trying to please bringing back dyke Tawna, only offering normal version as an early adopter buy-in incentive, or giving us a "they/them" masectomied bat? Who was that shit for, precisely?

Twitter homosexuals don't play games. And I know reddit is pretty bad, but that is a pretty high percentage considering how low % of the population of homos are.

I have a few major problems with CTRNF, first the horrendous load times, the choppy 30fps cap that dips when you reach blue flame, no fricking story mode for Nitro Kart, they had all of the content such as the CNK challenges/relic challenges, even the crystal arenas, what a waste as this doesn't add an incentive to play these challenges.

Adding shit like fixed Rillaroo and checkpoint crate was autistic as hell, just because some Redditors at the time were jumping up and down.
Also how the Velo times were nerfed because these onions boys were complaining about the difficulty.

I'd rather play the decompilation of the original when that comes out.

Well, nobody said it was perfect. I still think Beenox' heart was at least in the right place, but Activision probably gave them tight deadlines and not enough budget for them to do absolutely everything they could have. It's not like they had infinite time and money to make the best game they could.

NF focused way too much on fan wann and not enough on fixing the fricking game.
          >host leaves, lobby shits itself
          >horrendous load times on all platforms
          >they "fixed" the warp orb but nothing else
          >a bunch of time trial shit for autists but no additional story mode
          >questionable shit like the Trident gum parts, plane locked behind a donation, and the car locked behind getting a Xfinity subscription
          >despite all the cosmetics shoved in, there's no way to get the preorder costumes

What angers me more is that they could easily add an update on PS5 to fix 60% of those problems.

It's not shutting down yet, just going into maintenance mode and not getting any more updates. Anything more is speculation.
It will probably be shut down by the end of the year

I wonder how long until the game shuts down completely. I doubt it supports player hosting.

Crash didn't deserve this, frick whoever had any choice in Crash after CTR NF.
    >Release Crash 4
    >It's not bad but it really REALLY misses the point of the originals, making it way too fricking hard and grindy for some reason
    >Music is forgettable
    >Decide that you didn't get enough sales to warrant Crash 5, so think there is no interest in the IP and try to force a shitty battle arena online game that has NOTHING to do with the core Crash gameplay
    >That's not even mentioning the phone shovelware

Why? Was is THAT hard to make Crash 4 aligned more to the originals? Did levels need to be that fricking long? Mario Games didn't suffer from this.

The problem isn't even that its hard, the problem is being hard AND a chore to deal with. It practically forces you to replay a level far too many times while their design isn't good (there are some great ones among the garbage)

        Lennon

True, the N. Verted mode was one of the laziest things they had done. Also who has time to look up a guide on how to break an out of bounds box tbh.

It's because the Crash IP is owned by Activision, a soulless gray company which only cares about codslop and profits
Bing bing wahoo doesn't suffer from this because Nintendo still somewhat cares about their games' quality even if they've been pretty uninspired lately
This isn't just an Activision thing. Every time a promising or good IP is bought up by a big company it's basically a death sentence.

What's the problem? It's a completed game that you still can access.

      Lennon

First of all, they just gave away all of the items that people spent hours grinding for, you also need a PS plus and internet connection just to access the game, plus charging full price for the game. Just to have it potentially shut down and discontinued.
