Wait it's coop? I didn't know that what the frick
yep you can play the whole thing online
you just split the 6 characters between you
Turn-based homosexualry.
>Rtwp shitter still mad
nta but I think rtwp is fine with smaller parties like kotor's 3. 4 is kinda pushing it
Interesting I think the opposite. I like larger parties to be rtwp and I think turn based battles take too long and break up the flow of the game too much with a large party. To each their own.
But enough about your friends taking turns fricking you in the ass on weekends
>>crpg version of fallout
what did he mean by that?
He means he thinks playing Fallout New Vegas makes him a fan of old school Fallout.
but it's kinda ugly and runs like poo poo
can you not run unity games?
Tried running it with a 3080 a while ago and it wasn't very smooth
Maybe it's been optimised since then

Leddit game
I got bored of it. Can't remember why. My taste has changed since them (playing through Rogue Trader rn). Should I give it a second chance?
I think it's worth a proper playthrough
Forgot to mention amazing OST.
>crpg version of fallout
…
The deepest lore.
Got any similair games, also with co-op? Almost finished it with my gf and we both liked it (but frick the DLC with the respawning enemies, skip it if you ever play this game) and I'll probably be looking for something else for us to play. I've been thinking about Rogue Trader and Jagged Alliance 3 - are they any good in co-op? I'm not into homosexualry so BG3 is a no-go, and would rather avoid fantasy.
>Rogue Trader
I would go with this afterwards but maybe wait for a couple of months for the bugs to get patched out

>long story
Wasn't it half as long as Wasteland 2
Yeah and scaled too hard. It's always the same path. Or have fun with 3k ho enemies when you're doing 200 damage a shot.
Wasteland 3 was much easier than 2. I played both on the hardest difficulties, too.
I had multiple occasions during the 2nd game where I didn't think I would be able to complete the game, but to be fair my party was FRICKED. Check this out, this is what I was working with from the beginning and I refused to reroll.
If you don't like it why did you choose this as the option in the story instead of something else?
Why do you force yourself to be miserable and then blame everyone else?
no excuses for israeli cancer in games
i like when morons bump my thread for free
I'm all for warning people not to play wasteland 3 even if it's on sale or free because it's israeli propaganda
Since you have nothing better to do with your time and you don't mind bumping the thread could you explain how you've come to this conclusion to me in excruciating detail?
>try to play game
>it's israelited
>uninstall, tell everyone not to play it because it's israelited
>game doesn't sell
pretty straightforward actually, glad I could help make the change I want to see in the world
You either think very highly of yourself or you think people are as sensitive and easily offended as you about the games they play.
Unlike you I'm not so sensitive, so nothing a complete stranger says to me over the internet hurts my feelings.
You didn't explain at all how the game is israeli propaganda.
>anon hears a song that repeatedly asks if he's baptized

Are you washed, in the blood of the lamb?
do you even know what patriach means?
I sided with the Patriarch in my 1st run
>entirely playable in co-op with a friend
Until the game bugs out and wipes your fricking questlog.
I played it twice with a buddy and this bug ended both runs.
Aside from that it is fun. You can tell the doctor in the hub area that your buddy fricked a goat, and your friend will get told off when he shows up
why didn't you just reload a save?
yeah there's a lot of shit talk choices, i like that too
Me and the guy I played it with both ended up downloading the soundtrack and listening to it. I went to his party once and saw that he had those songs in his playlist and I said "wtf, you're obsessing over the Wasteland 3 OST too?"
>and how WOMEN have to become ANTIFA to DEFEAT THE PATRIARCHY
Is that what you did? Because I annexed it for the Rangers. November Reigns mother fricker.
See
Siding with the Patriarch honestly makes the most sense. Yeah the guy's a fricking dick and yeah he's a fricking plague to Colorado but his health's failing and he's got no successors. All the rangers need to do if you side with him is maintain order and put out fires in Colorado for a few years until he's too fricked to continue ruling and then they can start implementing proper democratic elections. They get their promised steady stream of supplies to rebuild their forces in Arizona which in turn allows them to further reinforce their forces in Colorado and stabilize the region.
Meanwhile Deth's plan is just flimsy as frick and is filled with shit that can go wrong or come back to bite everyone in the ass later (such as letting Cordite frick off to the east to build up an army instead of just putting a bullet in him).
Why wait when you can just do it immediately? Not to mention waiting would just cause the Families and Marshals to get ideas and Saul has an issue with dealing with threats in that he doesn’t deal with them and just pushes them away or bribes them. Also unless you kill his kids (the exact opposite of the thing he wants you to do) it’s just going to end up with one of them taking over or being used as a puppet okay Val or Libby taking over and Vic being used as a puppet. Also you don’t need to let cordite do that, you could just kill him along with the Scar Collectors when you get to them.
>the exact opposite of the thing he wants you to do
He doesn't want them leading Colorado. Take em into custody, give him the old "no take backs", and haul them back to Arizona to hang (or just wait until you're a reasonable distance from Colorado to shoot them all and bury them in a shallow grave)
That’s not going to work since he’s going to have say over what happens and you can’t just go against him like that since he’s basically holding Arizona hostage with supplies, it’s either do what he says or no food and resources. That’s why just overthrowing him is the simplest path. No worrying about possible power vacuums and getting Arizona the supplies.
Yeah. You have to agree with his political views while opposing his personal views. Which is a fine line to walk when you're going in blind. Especially when his large scale strategies make sense. Even if you believe he's probably right, on a large scale, he's wildly compromised in his personal interactions.
He doesn't hesitate when an AI takes over the body of his son. Just accepts them with both arms and a vulnerable back.
Agreed. The interesting thing about the game, I played it with a friend and thus had to negotiate for each big choice, is that it makes you take choices between reality and idealism. The "golden path" requires so much moral compromise from a modern player's perspective, that there's a natural hesitation towards following the plan of a decrepit autocrat who permits a deranged cult, drug addicted raiders, cannibals and so on to do what they want to largely undefended civilians.
You have to walk the thin, narrow path that the Patriarch prefers in order to get the "best ending." The long term problems may be worse, even so. You are inheriting all of his mistake in favor of continuing his policies and enacting no long lasting good.
Meanwhile, if you follow mostly a (21 century) moral path then you're basically condemning the generation of a population to hardship, war and suffering, solely for your own moral high ground. You plunge the region into war, but a logical follow through would be peace in the region.
>crpg version of fallout
>Troonland 3
This game was really fun and had a good soundtrack too.
>completely and utterly pozzed
>lobotomised so console subhumans can "play it"
>kino
>israeli propaganda
>the conservative white male Patriarch does nothing wrong, honors his deal and gives you the best ending
>the racemixing roastie brings nothing but chaos
>engaging in communist sex gives you STDs
>people who worship israeli puppet Ronald Reagan are deluded morons
>you work with the literal cops to being peace to a chaotic wasteland
>the one Black person party member is basically a moronic animal
>the conservative white male Patriarch does nothing wrong,
The Patriarch is a piece of shit though. Dude's basically just paying off all the gangs not to frick his shit up (and not just in cash. He's literally sending the Godflyers people to butcher and make into kites). The only reason he's the best choice is because he's the best bet for securing desperately needed supplies for the Rangers and he doesn't have much longer to live anyway. Angela's plan to overthrow him can yield much quicker results for improving Colorado but at the same time its risky as frick given how much can go wrong with it.
>secures peace for his people
>is willing to peacefully hand over power to you
>honors his deal
>but oh no, his le methods 🙁
STFU, libtard homosexual. Of course you would recommend letting rape and pillage Black folk run wild just cause a roastie told you to.
Nah, I don't agree with Deth's decision and feel like helping the Patriarch is the best solution, mainly because it's the best way to safely help the rangers back home and deal with the shitstorm in Colorado
>get supplies, start rebuilding the Rangers back in Arizona
>put out fires and fend off the raiders in Colorado in the meantime
>situation in Arizona stabilizes allowing them to send out reinforcements to Colorado
>With fresh supplies and reinforcements proceed to stomp out the major hostile factions in Colorado
>Celebrate by rubbing your nuts all over Saul's tyrannical face once he's bed ridden and bragging about how easy it was to wipe out the gangs that were straight up making him their little b***h
homie you're defending literal human sacrifices
>playing your enemies off each other bad because muh human rights
Bet you supported the war in Afghanistan.
>playing your enemies off each other bad because muh human rights
He's not piting them against each other moron. He's literally sending his own people off to Godflyers to be butchered and made into human kites and skin suits as well as to the Scar Collectors for slavery because he's too much of a beta b***h to actually take them on. He's basically just covering his own ass and he lied about it on top of that.
>knee jerk reaction immediately screaming about liberals out of nowhere
You can just tell this is either an underage kid or someone in their 20s who grew up listening to conservative grifters
Trump is totally gonna win and he is totally gonna drain the swap! This time for sure!
Yeah, but he also pays you. And you frick the gang's shit up.
>And you frick the gang's shit up.
No thanks to him and that's why he's a piece of shit. He's parading around claiming all the gangs fear his massive wiener and shit when in reality he's a tiny dick pussy who's giving the gangs people for sacrificial offerings and slavery, money, and supplies to leave him alone.
>He's literally sending the Godflyers people to butcher and make into kites)
>people
Criminals, thieves and murderers.
You left that part out.
Is this represented as a good thing? I'm only halfway through the game and so far every major story decision has had some negative after effect resulting in a lot of gray moral choices.
Is there even a single openly israeli person mentioned in the game? Even someone with a israeli sounding name?
Did you actually hate-play through the entire story of the game to figure this out?
Angela is a fricking moron, the Patriarch ain't perfect, but if you side with him he upholds his side of the bargain and the ending is unambiguously positive.
The only better ending is a secret ending that has you take over everything yourself in a bloodless "revolution", which is actually just you getting everyone to support you running things and asking the patriarch to step down, which he does.
Shizos do not play the games they post about.
I was surprised to find that siding with the patriarch was actually good. I did that second as my 'bad' playthrough, and it turned out really well for everybody involved. Dude 100% knew who to murder to stabilize the nation and bring peace
>tfw too brainlet to play rpgs
its over, always wanted to try this
Just play them on easy. Most of them have difficulty settings. Even Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 have an option to just make it so you can't even die.
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire is also pretty dumbed down and simplified so that is a good starter rpg. Planescape Torment also has a ton of dialogue and deep lore but is rock bottom stupid easy combat.
>crpg version of fallout
sooo fallout?
Isn't fallout (the real ones) the "crpg version" of fallout?
Underrail scores a lot closer in terms of spiritual successor to FO2. I liked wasteland 2 and 3 but to be honest with you it fell flat in several areas. The first had pretty boring combat but at least tried hard to recapture some of the early CRPG interactivity vibe with shit like entering secret textual commands to ingame NPCs and getting dialogue / alternate plot and question resolution from using your brain and asking a question. Wasteland 3, although combat improved, doesn't feel like a very alive world to be interacting with. There's basically 2 differences to the game ending and everything that happens from point a-z being somewhat irrelevant: breaking out the companion the patriarch has imprisoned not being a big deal, somewhat contradictory lore such as why does he give miscreants to the sacrifice fly your kite people when he is (as shown in the end game stretch) the most powerful military force around and really no meaningful interactions for the outcome of your characters within the major decision of supporting or betraying pat (marshall kwon). I'd arguably say 2 > 3 because having slightly better combat (and slapping a big gun APC in it to amuse you) does not carry. Quite a few of the game zones in W3 felt like a check box list to complete so I could frick off somewhere else or progress something that was interesting or just to get the positive ending slide because you can see the issues of the game from a mile off with usually linear / singular option solutions (Oh no, I need to sort the wastelands oil production issues from the ronald reddit regan faction or I'm gonna be in trouble!).
You have such thought out, well spoken opinions on the game. I'd be interested in some other rpgs your a big fan of. If you wouldn't mind just listing some of your favorites I'd appreciate it.
If I had to name my top 5, in no particular order:
1. Fallout 2
2. Underrail
3. KOTOR
4. Pillars of Eternity
5. Baldurs Gate
If you want post apoc wasteland, play underrail. If you want a polished DND experience like Baldurs gate, play POE. If you want to play an old game like Baldurs gate, play Icewind Dale first as its smaller and wont feel like an insurmountable task to complete if playing a game like that for the first time or if playing with friends. If you love the older games and want something batshit and a bit jank albeit complex and awesome, play Arcanum. If you like shitty elder scrolls games and can tolerate not having magic, Kingdom Come deliverance is way better. KOTOR 1 & 2 are just great RPGS if you like star wars and not that hard to get into yet very immersive and enjoyable.
Thanks so much.
>crpg
I don't play cuckold RPGs
I thought it was too "goofy" - toater repair skill, robot chickens, etc - pretty fun game though. Killing those commie rich kids while that song "Washed in the Blood of the Lamb" was kino.
I felt one of the bigger weaknesses of this game was that there was no alternative to the Patriarch. Why would you side with anyone else unless you're actually trying to make things worse? He's formed a functional state in an icy wasteland and everyone else is out to destroy it. Just go in, do what he asks, get aid for Arizona and that's it. Angela Deth is incoherent and moronic. Liberty is incapable of running anything but a slave state.
Yeah, the enemies were too goofy. I can only stand fighting literal clowns for so long. It's too bad because the gameplay was fun before they nerfed everything to hell and back in the name of balance.
>He's formed a functional state in an icy wasteland and everyone else is out to destroy it
He really didn’t, most of that shit was in place prior he just got rid of the raiders except not really because he just paid them to frick off and the second he starts to slip all of his problems reveal themselves. Meanwhile the Rangers manage to solve everything.
>He's formed a functional state in an icy wasteland and everyone else is out to destroy it.
It's more of an illusion of a functional state. His entire rule is essentially founded on lies that he's keeping the gangs away and in check but in reality he's basically their b***h and cutting deals with them, like sending people to the Godfishers for their human sacrifices and providing the Scar Collectors with money, supplies, and slaves in exchange for not touching Colorado Springs. On top of that, while Colorado Springs is holding out alright, people outside the city are starving, freezing, and getting killed by raiders left and right.
The real reason to side with the Patriarch, aside from the fact that his supplies are basically your ticket to keeping the Rangers back in Arizona alive, is that it's the safest bet for bringing stability to Colorado. His health is failing fast and he's got nobody to take over, allowing the people to choose a new leader through proper democratic elections in a few years when he's too unfit to rule. It's a few years of suck with a guaranteed good outcome for everyone. Besides, going around helping settlements is basically the Desert Rangers' mission anyway so shit would basically be business as usual for them until the Patriarch is too feeble to lead anymore.
What are the biggest differences between Wasteland and Fallout setting-wise?
Wasteland is much lighter and the idea of the Old World as a concept isn’t as frowned upon. Like people look at old America in Wasteland as something to strive for.
Nta but damn that sounds nice
Fallout's Old World gets shat on a lot (completely justifiably, it was a shithole) so it's neat to see the opposite.
There is criticism, like the Gippers but overall it’s pretty good, the war is a typical Cold War stuff but it was more about unchecked tech running rampant than politics or ideology.
>crpg version of fallout
if wasteland was singleplayer it would be neat
but having to babysit 4 or more characters is just busywork, no thank you
Should i start with Wasteland 3 or do i go all the way back to 1?
1 is neat, but a slog if you don't like actual old-school crpgs. If that's not your cup of tea, 2 has some throwbacks, but serves fine as an entry. It gives you a lot of additional context to make 3 seem relevant, instead of you just being some randoms
>crpg version of fallout
Don't forget to buff yourself by fricking animals.
game was too easy, played on hardest difficulty I could and my sniper MC just destroyed every enemy in one shot after a certain point.
>enter new location
>choose to support faction A / B or destroy both
>leave for the next location
>repeat for the rest of the game
One of the worst crpgs i ever played
>crpg version of fallout
Sadly my Laptop can only handle Wasteland 2. I think i need an upgrade.
>entirely playable in co-op with a friend
did they finally fix the co-op?
me and a friend tried playing through it multiple times but it kept glitching, disconnecting, crashing, and desynching constantly. I saw every update for like a year straight was co-op fixes but it was still broken and we eventually gave up.
Definitely more entertaining combat and better world building than BG3.
remove the R and the G and i might be interested in watching it
It is good game and makes a change from the usual fantasy setting.
I didn't like it as much as wasteland 2, I really loved wl2. 3 felt sorta eh tbh. I hated the dlcs.
2 has a lot of issues but is definitely better when it comes to story and characters.
Agreed.
I replayed it recently, I really liked the gameplay. I hated how they trimmed the fallout esque hud from wl3. I felt the theme/visuals were a lot more intone to what a wasteland game should be. The huge difficulty spike going into california is fricked, all your guns become really undervalued/underpowered so if you spend all your cash, you're sorta fricked. I wish it had some more quests/rpg elements but on the whole, I think they made a pretty fun and creative game.
WE ARE THE CHOSE A.I.
cochise*
The Patriarch is based.
It's a shame that wasteland 3 doesn't have a moment like damonta air force base in wasteland 2.
I almost 100% this, but thought I should go back and play the first two. I’m stuck on the remaster of 1 because the fricking android head won’t spawn in the Vegas sewer no matter how man robots I kill.
> Turn based.
> Le stronk wimmin giving orders.
> We wuz burgers an sheet!
I'm thinking slop.
>> Turn based.
>> Le stronk wimmin giving orders.
>> We wuz burgers an sheet!
>Strong woman is an irrational maniac
Did they ever actually finish this game?
It released in such a half-baked state that in-endgame areas there were books for skills that had been removed from the game and the game ends in a wall; we get a lot less personalisation for Liberty than her brothers and her ending is just a quick fricking powerpoint
If you're talking about Liberty she is a violent hyper-competent sociopath, not a generic le stronk wimmin
She's the opposite of her name just like her siblings; she's violent tyranny incarnate
Twilight 2000 was better
>crpg version of fallout
Played this a while back after some anon posted this saying it had one of the bests soundtracks ever. Absolutely great game, best shit I've played in years
>want a gritty grimdark story like in Fallout 1
>Fallout goes to shit
>hope Wasteland will be like that
>it's just goofy shit, but the choices are more meaningful
Is it that hard to make a post apoc story that takes itself seriously?
The Santa Claus bit took me out of the game so hard I never played it again.
