I want to play a CRPG, but I don't want to manage many characters. What are the best CRPG where you only play with 1/2 characters?

Neverwinter nights, Age of Decadence, Fallout( though you can have a large party), Morrowind
Fallout is best with no party in my experience
every "party" RPG can be finished solo and it's usually fun challenge.
I know you can play divinity 1 with only 2 characters if you take a perk called lone wolf or something like that, not sure about the 2nd one
KOTOR has three max
D:OS is best played with 2 lone wolfs.
>2 lone wolfs
> 3 Lone Wolves
1 - 2 characters? pusssaay where’s the epicness in that?
it's more epic to kill Abazigal with a lone cleric-mage than with full party using HLAs
Arx Fatalis
Ultima Underworld 1 and 2
TES series
Anvil of Dawn
Arcanum
Geneforge series
Fallout.
Arcanum cause if you play with RT your companions are AI-driven.
Underrail
Age of Decadence
Disco Elysium
ATOM RPG

Those last two are pretty mediocre Fallout-likes but they fulfill your requirements
>ATOM RPG
I've never heard anyone talk about this game and it apparently got a sequel with Trudograd. Are they any good?
Piece of shit slavjank that likes slav references too much. Very poor man's Fallout.
This is why I have trust issues.
Always trust the first response.
Always trust the last response.
like I said it's a pretty mediocre Fallout clone, how much you enjoy that will depend on how high your standards are. For a way to waste a couple dozen hours it's perfectly fine, but it's hardly gonna make anyone's top ten RPGs of all time list
it's pretty good
ATOM RPG is a 6-7/10 game that gets much worse if you understand the references. The companions are the best part of the game writing-wise IMO, but a lot of things can be done alone if you play it right. Almost the entirety of combat is carried over from classic Fallouts but armor isn't that strong because everyone in the endgame has AP ammo so melee builds suck and BOORST/sniper builds demolish everything. Suffers from sudden finale syndrome, but freeplay/side activities are alright. Mods like Phenomen/Neutron strongly recommended, they can also run together.
The sequel, Trudograd, is a solid 7-8/10 with fixed writing, less companions and IMO much better pace. Combat is the same so go with BOORST/sniper again. There are less companions and they are less flavorful, but they're alright. There are also better branching questlines, mini-text quests and all that shit. Some QoL was brought so no mods are needed.
Also I highly recommend setting Luck to 10 because of the absolutely moronic quest options that sometimes arise from having it.
I recommend it highly. Too many anons seem to have a seizure when trying to parse slav names like Krasnoznamenny, which is the major town. I'd say it's a 9 / 10. Really fricking good with really good writing.
Trudograd, though... Holy shit the writing took a nosedive. Just to give you an example, there is a conversation in which a girl thinks she is going insane and she asks you what she should do, and I shit you not one of the responses is
>Do a barrel roll
I think my fricking eyes did a 360 roll into my skull.
