What a homosexual you are. Dark Souls 2 is the best Dark Souls PERIOD. It's the highest rated Dark Souls game on Metacritic, btw.

        >least linear in the series
        >most diverse environments in the series
        >longest in the series
        >most amount of weapons in the series
        >most amount of armor and customization in the series
        >biggest build variety in the series
        >most amount of magic/miracles/hex/pyros
        >best online mode in the series
        >easiest to start a build in the series
        >best girls in the series
        >best and most SOULful covenants
        >dual wielding and power stance
        >respec
        >offers rewards for fun challenges such as no death run
        >NG+ has new enemies/items/events and some remixed bosses
        >the only game in the series which doesn't force you to grind
        >3 weapon slots in each hand
        >4 ring slots

QOL improvements introduced by Dark Souls 2
        >you can skip logos at startup (without mods)
        >R3 to jump
        >you can choose how many of the same item you want to consume at the same time
        >weapon durability bar below weapon icon
        >inventory items displayed in grids instead of list
        >climb ladders faster and being able to let go of ladders
        >roll through doors to open them faster
        >can turn a specific area to NG+ mode (Bonfire Ascetic)
        >can continue your playthrough after beating the last boss and can choose when to start NG+
        >controller vibrates when summoned

The game had a bunch of nice features of quality of life improvements but it just felt miserable to play and i hate the endgame

Objectively true and will never be refuted.

1 is maximum kino adventure. Particularly the first half. See it through to the end and play the DLC please. You won't regret it. While the later games are more fluid and polished there is an atmosphere and tension to exploring DS1s world that they were never able to capture again. Elden Ring comes close but isn't quite as focused.

Also, while DS2 is the weakest entry in the series it is still better than 80% of video games.

          >DS1
          >painfully unfinished 2nd half makes you want to quit after O&S
          >the most exploitable PvE content in the trilogy
          >DS3
          >completely linear and back-loads all the quality content, completely ruining replayability.
          >Nerfed every means of defending yourself outside of spamming rolling, which was buffed
          >DS2
          >erm... the the textures are repeating here!
          >this mini boss isn't as good as (Insert Major Bossfight from other Souls game)
Yeah checks out to me. Truly the black sheep!

thats not what most people criticise ds2 for lol nice strawman
people criticise it for being too slow and ganky

Considering how my point was that the games minor flaws are blown out of proportion while 1 and 3s are minimized, that literally changes nothing. Also,
              >Too slow
It's objectively faster and more responsive than both souls games before it.
              >ganky
only the most filtered of secondaries complain about this.

              >people criticise it for being too slow and ganky
That's one of it's strengths, enemies are slow and deliberate, so if your good with crowd control, even large groups of enemies are managable, but every mistake is punished for how hard some enemies hit, like enemies that flatten you when they land a hit or plop their ass on you

Strange comparison. DaS is more like Symphony of the Night. Bloodborne is more like Castlevania.

I can honestly see where you're both coming from. I used the MM/MMX comparison because Bloodborne plays pretty much like a faster and more aggressive Dark Souls. The setting and aesthetics are up to a different interpretation.

It doesn't even feel bad I have no idea why people act like these games feel horrible to play. DS2's deadzones are eh but you get used to them by the time you beat dragonrider.

I've played everything but Dark Souls 3 which i'm playing after beating DS2 DLC, Bloodborne, and oddly enough Dark Souls 1 DLC because I bought the original release for Xbox360 before the DLC was i'm guessing packaged with it, never bothered with remastered, I feel like I'll never get around to playing it either. How is Remastered truthfully on a Series X? Does it run at 60fps?

How on earth does DaS3 feel "better" to play
    >heaviest armor in the game feels like a tin can from walking to getting hit in
    >mid roll and fast roll are functionally the same, providing no value to thinking about what kind of build you're using
    >everything past a 2 hit combo was considered an actual exploit and patched out

Slower is better. Hitting things with a heavy piece of steel feels a lot better than whatever the frick Bloodborne turned the whole franchise into.

Nobody can refute the claims of Dark Souls 2 being the best. I wrote out an entire paragraph listing Dark Souls 2's qualities. How do they homosexual parrots refute this? They simply can't. They have nothing. All they can do is tell me to kill myself because they can't accept the truth.

Bloodborne was a mistake and FS should never do another project with Sony again. I'm glad Japan Studio got shut down. Frick that piece of shit game and it's makers.

Dark Souls 2 is a good game, but I wouldn't put it at the top. It's only above Demon's Souls, and on par with Dark Souls 3 for me. I know I'm an outlier, it just really scratches that itch for a slow paced dungeon crawler, which is exactly what Dark Souls 2 is for the most part. I'm not there for the bosses, because they're objectively the worst in the series, though not bad. I'm there for everything before that, exploring each area, most of them having a gimmick to them that makes it interesting. Every other souls game feels like I'm just going down hallways and killing shit.

    >It feels slower
Yeah moron, that is why DaS is the superior game in the genre. Dark Souls have weight and momentum to the gameplay, and the pacing, while DaS II is a floaty mess, and Bloodborne gave Miyazaki a brainrot that forces him to make everything quick and weightless ever since.

I played sekiro first but my favourite is ds3 and bloodborne and played ds1 last and i must say the exploration and World feel so much natural in 1, 3 has the best bosses and ending and bloodborne has the most unique experience
