Cyberpunk 2077 is actually a good game now. It's not the game of the generation everyone thought it would be before launch, but it's definitely better than a good chunk of the games that came out this year. I'd argue that it's only beaten by BG3.

I havent played the game, but did they not add vehicle combat and rework encounters so there are now turf wars and police that actually chase you and pursue other crimes? That sounds pretty substantial, and is laughable that it wasnt there before.

Yeah. At launch, police would just spawn behind you and there was no AI for chases.
I only went on a single rampage in my playthrough and it was towards the end. I got 5 stars in Dogtown and the cops they send at you at are actual cybrefreaks like you so it's a bunch of super powerd cops fricking you up.

Also I recommend doing a throwable weapon run. It's super fun. Though there is only 3 kind of weapons for it unfortunately.

David couldn't have won because he was an overconfident kid throwing himself head-long into a self-destructive, dangerous lifestyle. The story only has any sort of impact because his decisions end up in the demise of himself and almost all his friends, a happy ending would have rendered all the window dressing around Night City and the message about living too close to the edge completely toothless

While melee attacks are still just basic hacking at your enemies, you can definitely do some impressive shit once you start getting perks like deflecting bullets back at your enemies and abilities that allow you to cash around and move quickly. Combine that with a sandevistan and you feel like a bad ass. People have been uploading crazy clips that show off some of the cool shit you can do.

Cyberpunk has changed so much that it feels like 3 different versions of the same game.
They overhauled so much that the game cannot be played the same way as it was pre 2.0 or pre 1.6.
No more mods on armor or clothing.
Crafting is now severely limited to compared to being able to craft at random and potentially get something better, or in 1.6 something more of a streamlined upgrade.
Grenades used to be unlimited depending on how many you carried. Now you've got a max of 2, 3 if you spec into them.
monowire went from OP as all frick to barely useful to mid tier okay.
Gorilla arms still don't work as intended. You don't get the body bonus you're supposed to when equipping them.
Arm blades are OP as frick in the DLC, but are mid to okay tier without it.
It seems like for every advancement in the game's core systems, something was left behind or left out. Each and every time.
It's not a bad game, but it's not fully realized, and won't ever be.
I dont like the story. Even if the systems are better, that doesnt excuse a rushed story with severe pacing issues.
