In on it for a few hours or so and it's very linear and has a lot of setpieces. It will throw you off for sure. The opening sequence throws more goons at you than the entire Arasaka tower attack that it felt like I was playing DOOM.
Also, the first boss you fight is a fricking spider tank.

The entire fight is riddled with explosions and visual effects so I had to tone things down.

He can use stuff, just not combat mods, and based on Panam's text he told people he would be gone for a month and doesn't come back for two years. I don't know why people are that down on the ending, its a non-headcanon one where he lives. He can still reconnect with these people, but time moves on. 2077 takes place in a week or two, its been 100 more of those weeks for all these people.
I'd say Vik got the worst but even then that might have happened in any other ending because muh capitalism
2077 takes place in ~3 months(+6 more(and vaporware casino) if you go Fear the Reaper) from the prologues(no mention of which is canon so all three apply) to endings(PL not counted)

It's the same game in what sense? Structurally yes it is because nothing was changed regarding any of the questlines but the new perk system was a godsend and cyberware actually matters now. Police was also completely overhauled that I wonder why didn't they do this in the first place instead of the teleporting police death squad from the release version. The drones that came with 1.6 was awful too.

CDPR leaned too hard into the "No happy endings in Cyberpunk" even though V being alive and not being on a doom clock means they have all the time in the world to fix their relationships. CDPR just doubled down way too hard on V being alive meaning that their relationships are shattered and they are a Cyber-cripple.
It's kind of hilarious. Panam seems to have a full on breakdown and Mitch doesn't want V to talk to her because it would likely just cause Panam to probably go back to V while Judy fricked off and got married.
They try hard to make you feel bad, but realistically V is fine. He's done enough merc work for a lifetime and is pretty much the best solo to ever do it. He's only ever known Judy, Panam, River, etc. for a month or so at most so losing them shouldn't really hurt too much. Viktor is still there, even if he's shipped off to a corpo clinic. V has frick you money anyway so he can travel anywhere and visit him, same with Misty in Poland. Even Takemura's still alive, in hiding yes, but V could probably track him down somehow and help him get back to his feet. Now that he's been humbled and has a new perspective on life, the two could become actual friends.

Some of the new clothes are nice but I'm not really fond of the semi-fallout 4/COD style tactical gear that came with the DLC. The new enemies also really remind me FO4 raiders.
Is it possible to do good unarmed damage without using gorilla arms? Having a hard time coming up with enough room to fit then so far. Im getting a punch of cyberware that gives bonus to melee damage but regular punches just aren't doing much. Also, is there any new romance option in the dlc?
Not really no because the new Relic perk system from PL even adds a sonic boom to your gorilla arms. Ever since the perk tree overhaul, normal unarmed damage was really gimped.

if you're fighting on a street, it's harder to do that but running away from them while shooting it out and watching all the vehicles nearby get destroyed or become barricades is really cool. Them having a low aggro range if you decide to hide in alleys, buildings or underwater is nice compared to the teleporting cops from before.
Seems like the latter. But it depends on where you're fighting them. Sometimes the roads can get clogged by so many cars and AFVs that the newly spawned cops would have trouble spotting you from the wreckage and if you manage to not alert them they just frick off after a minute or so.
I guess because it just fricks over other characters and renders everything you did in the game rather irrelevant. Basically, characters, well most of them save Victor and Misty, get fricked because V wasn't there for them and all that matters was what you did in Phantom Liberty. V's a legend now sure but we dont see the effects of that compared to ther characters we personally met in the game.
Only River gets truly fricked over, but that probably always happens. Oh and Panam, that's stupid I agree.
If you aren't romancing Judy, her ending is actually a happy one. Yeah she was depressed for a while, but she left NC like she always wanted and found a partner. Not much changed for Takemura, he was already in hiding because he was accused of being Saburo's killer. And he dies in all other endings except Devil. Kerry's fine. Rogue's fine and still Queen of the Afterlife. Arasaka's influence is waning, Yorinobu's plan probably worked. Doesn't change much because the other corps are still there, but again this is the case in all other endings too.
It's the happiest ending for V. He lives, he's a legend, he's rich, and he can choose to do whatever he wants. Finally settle down and find new acquaintances or enter the game again and become a fixer, etc. The saddest thing is probably Johnny being gone forever. He was a part of V at that point, much more so than any of his "friends."
Nothing in the ending makes sense anon. CDPR felt obligated to write a new ending but didn't know how, and you can tell because of how disconnected it feels from the main game.
Or V kills himself after the credits or all the gangs and shit he destroyed finally catch up to him now that he's defenseless and they kill him or worse

Tech weapons were always the best. No enemy in the game was able to stop me sitting on the roof, shooting them from above.

nothings really needed because tech weps dont need the help, but if you want to make them absolutely bullshit, then the ignore armor thing is almost gamebreaking if you can time the charges to get bolt shots off.
Bolts are pretty absurd, which is saying a lot because Tech Rifles in 2.0 are fricking nuts on their own with very little investment needed.
Just be aware that Bolt shots suck at penetration, they should only be used on targets out in the open.
It's not bad, but it's still an empty city with nothing to do. Glitches and bugs galore. The story is still ass, but the revamped system looks kinda cool. Whoever thought of having a metered gauge to shoot a gun needs to be killed.

It's more of the same, which isn't bad in itself but I've come to expect expansions stand out from the base game. It's also expensive for what it is.
Comparatively Blood and Wine for TW3 felt completely different to the base game content, was 10€ cheaper (20€ vs 30€), had a way bigger map (Dogtown is tiny) and had more quests. Hell TW3's season pass was 25€ and you got both Hearts of stone AND BAW for that. Appropriate price for PL would've been 15€

Mike Pondsmith himself has stated multiple times how "Timelines are in a flux". To put it simply, all the endings, all the choices... All of them are equally canon and not canon. NOT until CDPR comes out with a possible sequel of some kind that confirms one of them is (and more importantly what choices did Vincent/Valerie make to get there). My personal guess is either "Don't fear the reaper" into "Path of Glory" or Suicide.
As for why are there no happy endings? The answer is simple, Cyberpunk as a genre is not about happy endings, it's not a world you should aspire to live in, again quoting Pondsmith that: "It's a warning". "It's not about saving the world, it's about saving yourself."
Perhaps. Cyberpunk is their second big IP alongside the Witcher now. So I'm fairly certain they won't just abandon it.
As to, will they continue with V's story or not? Only time will tell. Personally I think they will even if you don't get to play as V personally. 2077 just sets up too much to leave utterly ignored. If I personally had the power to choose, I'd like to see the same thing they did with the Witcher trilogy's "Import Save" -system and just expand it... By alot.

Just installed it and it feels so off for some reason. It feels clunky and slow with a controller now. The camera turning and aiming is just different. I'm getting the same fps so i know it's not that. I'm playing on pc connected to an LG oled and putting that in game optimiser feels better, but still not like the old game.

Cyberpunk hasn't aged well .I booted it up for the first time in years and it's way jankier and less fun than I remembered it, and that was when it first came out. World feels soulless and plastic. With a few execeptions the writing is just cringe, it tries so hard to be sort of slick and gritty but just comes across as forced and overuses cyberpunk's slang "Hola choom wanna frip my chip with that bonk?" Everything's a bullet sponge (worse on higher difficulties of course) and combat is awkward and mostly involves just standing there using cover fire while enemies run into your line of sight.

In on it for a few hours or so and it's very linear and has a lot of setpieces. It will throw you off for sure. The opening sequence throws more goons at you than the entire Arasaka tower attack that it felt like I was playing DOOM.

Not only that V does not leave any contact behind, so in case something happened to him, his friends would know, but also, as you mentioned, V should have enough friends at that point to enjoy life. Plus, he is also considered to be a legend. Even if he cannot go on killing Sphree, he can at least use consulting services or whatever. He won, yet the ending seems to be all depressing.

It's the same game in what sense? Structurally yes it is because nothing was changed regarding any of the questlines but the new perk system was a godsend and cyberware actually matters now. Police was also completely overhauled that I wonder why didn't they do this in the first place instead of the teleporting police death squad from the release version. The drones that came with 1.6 was awful too.

It's kind of hilarious. Panam seems to have a full on breakdown and Mitch doesn't want V to talk to her because it would likely just cause Panam to probably go back to V while Judy fricked off and got married.
They try hard to make you feel bad, but realistically V is fine. He's done enough merc work for a lifetime and is pretty much the best solo to ever do it. He's only ever known Judy, Panam, River, etc. for a month or so at most so losing them shouldn't really hurt too much. Viktor is still there, even if he's shipped off to a corpo clinic. V has frick you money anyway so he can travel anywhere and visit him, same with Misty in Poland. Even Takemura's still alive, in hiding yes, but V could probably track him down somehow and help him get back to his feet. Now that he's been humbled and has a new perspective on life, the two could become actual friends.

Not really no because the new Relic perk system from PL even adds a sonic boom to your gorilla arms. Ever since the perk tree overhaul, normal unarmed damage was really gimped.

if you're fighting on a street, it's harder to do that but running away from them while shooting it out and watching all the vehicles nearby get destroyed or become barricades is really cool. Seems like the latter. But it depends on where you're fighting them. Sometimes the roads can get clogged by so many cars and AFVs that the newly spawned cops would have trouble spotting you from the wreckage and if you manage to not alert them they just frick off after a minute or so.

Basically, characters, well most of them save Victor and Misty, get fricked because V wasn't there for them and all that matters was what you did in Phantom Liberty. V's a legend now sure but we dont see the effects of that compared to ther characters we personally met in the game.
Only River gets truly fricked over, but that probably always happens. Oh and Panam, that's stupid I agree.
If you aren't romancing Judy, her ending is actually a happy one. Yeah she was depressed for a while, but she left NC like she always wanted and found a partner. Not much changed for Takemura, he was already in hiding because he was accused of being Saburo's killer. And he dies in all other endings except Devil. Kerry's fine. Rogue's fine and still Queen of the Afterlife. Arasaka's influence is waning, Yorinobu's plan probably worked. Doesn't change much because the other corps are still there, but again this is the case in all other endings too.
It's the happiest ending for V. He lives, he's a legend, he's rich, and he can choose to do whatever he wants. Finally settle down and find new acquaintances or enter the game again and become a fixer, etc. The saddest thing is probably Johnny being gone forever. He was a part of V at that point, much more so than any of his "friends."
Takemura's ending makes no sense. He kills himself in the other endings because his/Hanako's plan fails, but here he doesn't kill himself because...?

Just be aware that Bolt shots suck at penetration, they should only be used on targets out in the open.

It's more of the same, which isn't bad in itself but I've come to expect expansions stand out from the base game. It's also expensive for what it is.
Comparatively Blood and Wine for TW3 felt completely different to the base game content, was 10€ cheaper (20€ vs 30€), had a way bigger map (Dogtown is tiny) and had more quests. Hell TW3's season pass was 25€ and you got both Hearts of stone AND BAW for that. Appropriate price for PL would've been 15€

Mike Pondsmith himself has stated multiple times how "Timelines are in a flux". To put it simply, all the endings, all the choices... All of them are equally canon and not canon. NOT until CDPR comes out with a possible sequel of some kind that confirms one of them is (and more importantly what choices did Vincent/Valerie make to get there). My personal guess is either "Don't fear the reaper" into "Path of Glory" or Suicide.
As for why are there no happy endings? The answer is simple, Cyberpunk as a genre is not about happy endings, it's not a world you should aspire to live in, again quoting Pondsmith that: "It's a warning". "It's not about saving the world, it's about saving yourself."

As to, will they continue with V's story or not? Only time will tell. Personally I think they will even if you don't get to play as V personally. 2077 just sets up too much to leave utterly ignored. If I personally had the power to choose, I'd like to see the same thing they did with the Witcher trilogy's "Import Save" -system and just expand it... By alot.

Just installed it and it feels so off for some reason. It feels clunky and slow with a controller now. The camera turning and aiming is just different. I'm getting the same fps so i know it's not that. I'm playing on pc connected to an LG oled and putting that in game optimiser feels better, but still not like the old game.

Cyberpunk hasn't aged well .I booted it up for the first time in years and it's way jankier and less fun than I remembered it, and that was when it first came out. World feels soulless and plastic. With a few execeptions the writing is just cringe, it tries so hard to be sort of slick and gritty but just comes across as forced and overuses cyberpunk's slang "Hola choom wanna frip my chip with that bonk?" Everything's a bullet sponge (worse on higher difficulties of course) and combat is awkward and mostly involves just standing there using cover fire while enemies run into your line of sight.
It's Eurojank without the EVRO SOVL. It's Muttjank. The worst of both worlds.
