sci-fi and fantasy genres are soulless.
Only modern-day and near-future have soul.
Loss Of Me
>near-future
So, cyberpunk?
>cyberpunk
>near
it is now.
Well Near, looks like I win.
what about historical settings
Cyberpunk aesthetics peaked in the 90's
Deal with it.
System Shock isn't cyberpunk. It's sci-fi.
>Dystopian Future
>Player is literally a hacker that breaks into the wrong corporation at the wrong time.
>Spend the rest of the game fighting a rogue AI
>There is literally CyberSpace gameplay
It's CyberPunk Bro.
You're talking about System Shock 2. What about System Shock 1?
What I just described is the plot to System Shock 1 not 2.
Huh? Wasn't there something about an underwater city?
System Shock 2 soundtrack is so fricking good bro...
bad vidya music thread?
Didn't realize these two were responsible for the goofy ass music play played in that goofy frickin cutscene when you enter night city.
I remember it clearly because my game would keep crashing immediately after that cutscene when I first started playing. I wondered why they would make it sound so stupid.
reddit rap
Cyberpunk was overhyped SO SO much.
Like SO much.
I feel almost like it was the most overhyped game of the last decade.
I remember when I heard that they removed advanced movement and akimbo guns while all the articles focused on customizable genitals and thinking "huh, that's probably not a good sign".
In all seriousness, i think open world games should stop focusing on making a bigger and bigger maps but instead making it denser and more atmospheric
Cyberpunk as a genre is already dying because we're unironically too close technologically. There's already some retro-cyberpunk games made and the setting is unironically way better like this.
It's not dying at all Anon. Cyberpunk is still hugely popular, and it feels like technology hasn't expanded too fast within the last few years, so we're not gonna become major techno-topia that fast.
Only new developments really might be like, AI technology, but that's not gonna make us into a cyberpunk dystopia any time soon
>There's already some retro-cyberpunk games made and the setting is unironically way better like this.
Such as?
Stray is the first one coming to my mind, with the CRT screens and shit
Stray is an overhyped mess too.
I agree, still nice to play/look at
Critical Race Theory screens? What?
i liked cyberpunk but the music was garbage but it's honestly more realistic that every radio song is Black person pop and not synthwave or anything else
>no japanese music
yea no
>one track
>cliche wacky pop shit that people think is what all japanese music is like
next youll point out the gits rip off that only plays once. theres an entire radio channel for spanish shit for fricks sake
>theres an entire radio channel for spanish shit for fricks sake
give you that, half of night city is owned by japanese, it's weird there were no purely japanese radios
it has electronic stuff, but not enough j-pop/j-rock
play ghostrunner. and ruiner. and not a game made by the p*les
ghostrunner is made by polish studio, moron
FRICK. Oh well, at least I have Frostpunk.
are you serious right now?
Oh god... oh frick... At least there's Dying Light, right? Please tell me Dying Light isn't by... them...
>techland
For the record Ruiner is also by Polish devs. That poster is either trolling or stupid. And the Polish make a lot of cyberpunk games apparently.
actually do play ghostrunner
probably the most fun I've had with a game this year, great stuff
One of Cyberpunk's good points is its soundtrack because all the music fits the setting, from the latino rap to even the metal station playing stuff some stinking anarchist would listen to. I don't really trust the taste of Ganker they would just put Metallica and ACDC in it because their taste is so unique and superior.
no i would put black sabbath https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3-QqGVt-tM
>One of Cyberpunk's good points is its soundtrack because all the music fits the setting
Damn real shame the music is shit then
despite lack of such music we have pretty amazing
?list=RDMMgzbLODUb1sA
and
I can list more, game has stellar soundtrack. They marketed it with mumble rap for some reason, I was so glad it was not what majority of the game was about.
pam pam pampam param
The soundtrack is a big part of what sold the Cyberpunk 2077 world to me. All this catchy custom produced music made it really feel like some weird alternate reality where things truly are different and nothing is quite the same as the modern world we live in now. Wouldn't have worked if they used "real" music.
Bet you c**ts would simp for the OST if the game wasn't a historic dissapointment.
You simp for any other dogshit pop/rap/RnB garbage there is in old classics like Midnight Club. Because the games were good. Gurgling cum is not a personality trait, worthless fricking dipshits and r*ddit tourists alike.
I have a feeling in 5 years I will see a renaissance of popularity for this game.
There is kind of an expectation it'll be like No Man's Sky with them constantly updating it until it becomes good again, so probably. It is possible to save a garbage game, but it's a huge investment for something you've already torpedoed the reputation of so most people don't want to put in the work and rather start from scratch.
Me too. Especially here. Been on this shithole for a few years now and I've become adept at recognizing the patterns. I predict the wave will start from israelitetube, and then transplants with parasocial e-celeb relationships will be the first ones to start topics about it.
almost all of the radio stations in cyberpunk sucked. it was impressive how hard to listen to they each were most of the time. maybe 5 solid radio tracks in the whole game out of like a hundred.
Well, I'm glad to see that this game has bikes.
Those arcade machines games though
