I'm glad she of all characters get a semi-happy ending. I mean besides having Rykard get killed, and possibly her mom getting killed too. I don't think she seemed that connected to Rykard, and he was basically just a snake puppet at this point anyway.
I like her because in a world of shit, she is kind. She is nice to the player character regardless if you join her or help her with her necklace.
Her and Roderika are both great people.
I still think that Aurelia's (the jellyfish) quest should have had no reward. You take her with you, she fights by your side, you make her more powerful, she's actually useful, and finally when you find her sister, you need to make a choice. Will you just let her visit and continue your adventure with her, or will you let her stay and lose her permanently?
Same reason people liked Blackguard. He seems like a prick at first but once you get to know him he's a friendly lad that sells you delicious broken consumables.
Is this your first From Software experience? The friendliest character in a game full of amoral vipers, traitors and monsters will always stand on top as an icon of their own franchise.

You can only see her snake form after already seeing the others deeper in the manor. Given her hunchback, you can easily put two and two together before she transforms.
>You can only see her snake form after already seeing the others deeper in the manor. Given her hunchback, you can easily put two and two together before she transforms.
that's absolutely not the case. you only have to complete the first or second contract, and those are on the outside of the manor.
On my first playthrough I never found the illusory wall or Iron Maiden warp so I never saw inner Volcano Manor or the Snakemen, but I was still able to see Rya's snek form.
Can someone tell me what the point of this guy is and why he’s considered an important character? He’s just some guy raping corpses and eating the doo doo. The spirit with the broken legs has more personality than him and yet he’s the one who gets an ending.
i dunno, ever since I found out you can turn him into a spirit ash, that's what I've been doing instead of giving it straight up to Gideon or warrior girl.
On my first playthrough I found the false door the first thing after talking to Tanith, while exploring my first room
It was a weird moment of >I got lost on my way to the bathroom and accidentally found the satanic church in your basement
I didn't meet Rya nor the bandit beforehand, though.
I had met Rya by complete chance but couldn't find the fricking shrimp guy for the life of me >Ok we'll have this NPC in some random ass copy-paste gazebo >And she'll tell you to find some other guy on the other ass end of the province sitting by some random copy-paste house with zero direction

>They really needed to put the quest NPCs on the critical path more, shit is stupid
I think it's proven that Elden Ring doesn't really have a "critical path" in most locations. For me, crab guy was right on my path, but Rya wasn't. I also did the entirety of Liurnia before Godrick Castle, and the entirety of Caelid before Weeping Peninsula. When everyone goes where ever they please, it's hard to put things "in their path"
Black person boilprawn shack is literally on the map. Once you find the map fragment it has it's own little drawing indicating there's something there to check out.
if it makes you feel less lonely, I also spent so much time looking for Big Broiler that I explored like 10 optional locations in Liurnia.
And yeah, I did not have the map fragment. Only then did I realize the small post signs on the unexplored map meant "Map fragment is here" (also doesn't help that this one sign on the map is hidden by the icon of a site of grace)
Can someone tell me what the point of this guy is and why he’s considered an important character? He’s just some guy raping corpses and eating the doo doo. The spirit with the broken legs has more personality than him and yet he’s the one who gets an ending.
he's the source of such a horrid curse that it removes the cursed person's soul from the cycles of life, death, and rebirth. if he hadn't been stopped, he would become a god in his own right.
funny thing
in japanase folkore, your soul was believed to reside in the zone around your stomach (like in narushit where they tell you where someone chakra is)
and lot of folklore monster spreaded legends about how they would steal your soul by your butthole
hence why the caca muncher is related to shit, because he is able to reach your soul to curse it
also this is why seppuku was considered an honorable death

you can leave Tanith alive and i wouldn't be surprised if from forgot to finish her quest since Patches castanets do absolutely nothing

once you've killed rykard and reload the zone, you can find her eating his head so he can be reborn once again in the future
if you decide to kill her, her Crucible bodyguard will invade you, killing him reward you the incantion Aspect of the Crucible: Breath
by all logic if there a reward behind killing her and nothing by letting her alive, the canon choice is you've decided to kill her too
but like i've said patches quest leading to nothing seems weird
I thought this too until I read the item description.
I thought they were just like, grotesque tonsil stone like protrusions due to his curse and "pox" he keeps talking about.
The armor is made to look like an omen with all its horns chopped off, which was allegedly done to all newborn omen, killing almost all it was done to. Maybe the people he curses turn into omen when reborn? I could be so very fricking wrong, so apologies ahead of time.

Its never outright stated if its the same curse or if its his own malformed version of it. His pox he leaves on his victims has omen horns but it also prevents people from reincarnating properly into the Erdtree. Omens, Misbegotten and other cursed beings aren't really "cursed" but affected by some primordial energy of the Erdtree back when it first sprang up. But overtime people saw it as one. Only the Crucible Knights seem to avoid that stigma but nobody knows what they look like underneath their armor.

The armies were mercanaries. Academy is run by Carians who were betrayed. This has likely to do with Radagon mindbreaking their leader. Cuckoo knights are actively ousting them in-game. Even their item descriptions line Carians as their enemies and Iji tells of the betrayal.

I think it was stated that after Godfrey went back to the Badlands people started disdaining the knights, which is probably why they aren't really organized anymore and some sort of hedge knights by the time (You)'re around.
All the people in the opening represent a tarnished relevant to the ending and the Mending Runes.
The Loathsome Dung Eater is a Tarnished who curses so hard that, after inflicting onto himself the most fricked up curses be ever made, he was reborn into a cursed rune that could curse The Order itself.

Yeah, she is just part of a sidequest and only turns into the snake form once (most likely you'll miss it unless you talk to her frequently during the sidequest). She's my favorite character in the game though.
I'm glad she of all characters get a semi-happy ending. I mean besides having Rykard get killed, and possibly her mom getting killed too. I don't think she seemed that connected to Rykard, and he was basically just a snake puppet at this point anyway.
The Giants who formed this world into its sensual existence and now seem to live in it in chains, are in truth the causes of its life & the sources of all activity, but the chains are the cunning of weak and tame minds which have power to resist energy, according to the proverb, the weak in courage is strong in cunning.
Thus one portion of being is the Prolific, the other the Devouring: to the devourer it seems as if the producer was in his chains, but it is not so, he only takes portions of existence and fancies that the whole.
But the Prolific would cease to be Prolific unless the Devourer, as a sea, recieved the excess of his delights.
Some will say: 'Is not God alone the Prolific?' I answer: 'God only Acts & Is, in existing beings or Men.'
These two classes of men are always upon earth, & they should be enemies; whoever tries to reconcile them seeks to destroy existence.
Religion is an endeavour to reconcile the two.
Note: Jesus Christ did not wish to unite but to seperate them, as in the Parable of sheep and goats! & he says I came not to send Peace but a Sword.
Messiah or Satan or Tempter was formerly thought to be one of the Antediluvians who are our Energies.

Why do women hate Rya so much?
