I'm glad she of all characters get a semi-happy ending. I mean besides having Rykard get killed, and possibly her mom getting killed too. I don't think she seemed that connected to Rykard, and he was basically just a snake puppet at this point anyway.

You take her with you, she fights by your side, you make her more powerful, she's actually useful, and finally when you find her sister, you need to make a choice. Will you just let her visit and continue your adventure with her, or will you let her stay and lose her permanently?

that's absolutely not the case. you only have to complete the first or second contract, and those are on the outside of the manor.

I think it's proven that Elden Ring doesn't really have a "critical path" in most locations. For me, crab guy was right on my path, but Rya wasn't. I also did the entirety of Liurnia before Godrick Castle, and the entirety of Caelid before Weeping Peninsula. When everyone goes where ever they please, it's hard to put things "in their path"

in japanase folkore, your soul was believed to reside in the zone around your stomach (like in narushit where they tell you where someone chakra is)

hence why the caca muncher is related to shit, because he is able to reach your soul to curse it

by all logic if there a reward behind killing her and nothing by letting her alive, the canon choice is you've decided to kill her too

I thought they were just like, grotesque tonsil stone like protrusions due to his curse and "pox" he keeps talking about.

The armor is made to look like an omen with all its horns chopped off, which was allegedly done to all newborn omen, killing almost all it was done to. Maybe the people he curses turn into omen when reborn? I could be so very fricking wrong, so apologies ahead of time.

                Anonymous

Its never outright stated if its the same curse or if its his own malformed version of it. His pox he leaves on his victims has omen horns but it also prevents people from reincarnating properly into the Erdtree. Omens, Misbegotten and other cursed beings aren't really "cursed" but affected by some primordial energy of the Erdtree back when it first sprang up. But overtime people saw it as one. Only the Crucible Knights seem to avoid that stigma but nobody knows what they look like underneath their armor.

iirc it's mentioned somewhere that they're artificial humans, dunno if the ayy lmao ones were called "second generation" in the way you would refer to a newer version of a product, or if it just meant the normal ones just had fricked up kids as a result of being unnatural

                Anonymous

Oh, so the ayys in Liurnia are related to that too? Interesting. Spraking of the place, why did Raya Lucaria let its standing army do whatever terrible shot it wanted?

The armies were mercanaries. Academy is run by Carians who were betrayed. This has likely to do with Radagon mindbreaking their leader. Cuckoo knights are actively ousting them in-game. Even their item descriptions line Carians as their enemies and Iji tells of the betrayal.

How fitting that carians got first cucked by radagon, and then by cuckoo knights

                Anonymous

I didn't know that they were just mercenaries, fair enough. I guess my mind has a tough time piecing together which events are directly related. I've been playing the game on and off for a few weeks so the information tends to be drip-fed.

She stands next to Bernahl's right opposite the fireplace between them. Diallo is standing to Bernahl's left.

Salamanders. Look up their alchemical importance.
      >salamander A lizardlike amphibian that likes to live in moist places. In mythology the salamander is a poisonous creature that is able to live in fire. Pliny said that the salamander “seeks the hottest fire to breed in, but quenches it with the extreme frigidity of its body.” In Alchemy the salamander is a symbol of the Prima Materia. In the alchemical process, it plays the role of helping the substance under transformation to give up its secret fire, which will help the Philosopher's Stone claim its final power, as this alchemical verse describes: [The Salamander] is caught and pierced So that it dies and yields up its life with its blood. But this, too, happens for its good; For from its blood it wins immortal life, And then death has no more power over it. An emblem of the salamander in fire appears in Atalanta fugiens (1618) by MICHAEL MAIER. “As the Salamander lives in the Fire so does the Stone,” says Maier. The salamander symbolizes SULPHUR and the Secret of the Fire. The Secret Fire, corporified as SALT, is the hidden Sulphur that is the “Philosophick Tincture.”
      >In Alchemy the salamander is a symbol of the Prima Materia.

Sitting in the keep: chilling, in his lane, unbothered (except by the Tarnished), flourishing in rot and poo
Jailed for decades and decades: completely mind broken, hasn't seen anyone in ages, noone to defile
      Makes sense to me

Because he's so close to eating your shit in that moment, he can practically smell it. Probably the only thing that makes him feel alive.

I couldn't take the mage snake seriously in Volcano Manor because of the giant ball on its head. It almost killed me though.

    Rintrah roars & shakes his fires in the burden'd air;
Hungry clouds swag on the deep
Once meek, and in a perilous path,
The just man kept his course along
    The vale of death.
Roses are planted where thorns grow.
    And on the barren heath
    Sing the honey bees.
Then the perilous path was planted:
And a river, and a spring
    On every cliff and tomb;
    And on the bleached bones
    Red clay brought forth.

Till the villain left the paths of ease,
To walk in perilous paths, and drive
The just man into barren climes.

    Now the sneaking serpent walks
    In mild humility.
And the just man rages in the wilds
    Where lions roam.

    Rintrah roars & shakes his fires in the burden'd air;
Hungry clouds swag on the deep.

      >Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and Repulsion, Reason and Energy, Love and Hate, are necessary to Human existence.
      >From these contraries spring what the religious call Good & Evil. Good is the passive that obeys Reason. Evil is the active springing from Energy.
Good is Heaven. Evil is Hell.

      >Attraction and Repulsion
      >Causality/Regression
      >Inner Order/Outer Order

All the caduceus references are there for a reason.

Yeah, she is just part of a sidequest and only turns into the snake form once (most likely you'll miss it unless you talk to her frequently during the sidequest). She's my favorite character in the game though.

        That picture is pure cringe.

I'm glad she of all characters get a semi-happy ending. I mean besides having Rykard get killed, and possibly her mom getting killed too. I don't think she seemed that connected to Rykard, and he was basically just a snake puppet at this point anyway.

This too. Have you seen a worse translation?

The Giants who formed this world into its sensual existence and now seem to live in it in chains, are in truth the causes of its life & the sources of all activity, but the chains are the cunning of weak and tame minds which have power to resist energy, according to the proverb, the weak in courage is strong in cunning.
Thus one portion of being is the Prolific, the other the Devouring: to the devourer it seems as if the producer was in his chains, but it is not so, he only takes portions of existence and fancies that the whole.
But the Prolific would cease to be Prolific unless the Devourer, as a sea, recieved the excess of his delights.
Some will say: 'Is not God alone the Prolific?' I answer: 'God only Acts & Is, in existing beings or Men.'
These two classes of men are always upon earth, & they should be enemies; whoever tries to reconcile them seeks to destroy existence.
Religion is an endeavour to reconcile the two.
Note: Jesus Christ did not wish to unite but to seperate them, as in the Parable of sheep and goats! & he says I came not to send Peace but a Sword.
Messiah or Satan or Tempter was formerly thought to be one of the Antediluvians who are our Energies.
