from what i heard is they are going to use AI to upscale the graphics quality.
in addition a clever way to make lesser quality games look better than they should, it will also improve the quality of switch games you previously purchased.
such as BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and Smash Bros.
this is all rumored, but this would be more rewarding that what gen 5 consoles offered.
a reward to the past games you purchased. when buying a new switch an instant remaster without even doing nothing but putting in your older switch titles.
like i said this is all rumored.
This is all I care about. I bought a Switch but now I emulate the few games I care about. I'm not buying their trash hardware to play 4 or 5 games total for that entire generation when I can emulate them at better framerates and resolutions.
Not saying anything against your preferences, but nintendo doesn't really have anything to learn by listening to people who care about specs and performance. They're doing fine.
Games running at stable 30-60 just because the hardware is more powerful also isn't a given. In the end, it's up to the devs to optimize their games or change the scope of how big they want to make their games.
This. We've had shit running at 60 since the fricking PS1, and I'm sure before that, too. And stuff in the next generation "failing" (choosing not) to. And the next. And the one after that. And the one after that as well. And I'm sure the next one, too, when that comes out.
Frame rate isn't a function of power, it's a function of dev restraint. All games could run at 60 fps if developers were willing to work with the hardware they have, rather than overtax it. The fact games run at 30 or less says that they will always run at that. If you give a dev with a sub 30fps game more power, he won't up the framerate, he'll just throw more things on screen.
rare intelligent post on this website.
people are like >T-THIS TIME, THIS GEN, I SWEAR 60 FPS WILL BE THE NORM
no it wont. 30 fps will ALWAYS be the norm. and thats the ideal target. frames will also ALWAYS go lower, because devs cant code for shit, especially when outsourced to some poos.
Handhelds are the best selling consoles. No one cares about muh power. If they did, the knock off PCs wouldn't have been so consistently murdered.
Nintendo alone has sold more handhelds than almost all of it's contemporaries combined.
On a handheld
Learn that they still sell the most with weaker, cheaper and far more profitable hardware on the nature of selling software people want to play and pay for???
These arguments kind of fall apart when you remember that the Steam Deck exists.
You're actually proving the point of my post about handhelds being the best selling consoles. The Steam Deck isn't powerful either and yet it's selling fairly well.
And continuing to add to the statistics of handhelds being the best selling consoles in existence.
Your argument falls apart when you realize the Steam Deck isn't more powerful than a PS4. >1.6 vs 1.8tflop >inb4 but new GPUs have better IPC
No shit, that's why in real life performance both the SteamDeck and the new Nintendo console will be more powerful than a PS4.
>The switch is lower power than the PS3
This isn't something to brag about >BUT IT SOLD..
Who cares, the amount the sell affects you in no way whatsoever, how powerful the console is does however
People consider me a Xbox fanboy, but people this is what a real fanboy is, someone who brags about what helps the company and shareholders and being happy with receiving less
I'm now gonna spit on you
*Spits*
Learn that they still sell the most with weaker, cheaper and far more profitable hardware on the nature of selling software people want to play and pay for???
What should they "learn"? How to outsell their competitors? They already do that, Microshit is the one who should take notes. The Switch has outsold Shitbox Series X every year since 2020
and yet the Switch is winning, Xbox and Playstation are selling games and consoles with insane markup while putting their games on PC, then you got the Switch that's incredibly cheaper, far more convenient, has minimal install times in comparison, and all you can complain about is the age of technology rather than talking about what they're able to do with the technology that Playstation and Xbox never could
>shit hardware >still completely dominating the console market >the only consoles that aren't just a worse PC
Nintendies won, hardware is at the point where even mid-tier is "good enough" for nearly everything. Hardwaregays lost, good games are all that matter.
Nintendo is always a generation behind. >gbc was a portable nes >gba was a portable snes >ds was a portable n64 >3ds was a portable gamecube >switch was a portable xbox 360
You should try learning about technology first.
First of all, that's not what those emails said.
Second, a 1.8TF device in 2024 is in completely different realm than 1.8TF device in 2013 >Over a decade of rendering tech advancements (PS4 is so old it can't even support half precision calculations, not to mention stuff like VRR, VRS, mesh shaders etc.) >Order of magnitude better CPU than Jaguar that was already obsolete garbage in 2013 >SSD instead of a fricking 5400 RPM HDD
Light years ahead of PS4 in every metric despite having "the same" teraflops.
And Switch 2 will actually be closer to 3TF
They would probably go to shit and make open world slop for every franchise instead of just few. I'm very concerned for what the switch 2's library will be like as a result
I think you're right honestly. That's what I expect Prime 4 to be at this point. Throw out all structure and level design and just let players roblox their own shit. It's what the mindless masses want.
>metroid >but you start with all your powers
Hated it when Zelda did it but I would not even buy it if Metroid attempted the same thing. Complete waste of a franchise if they go that route.
imo consoles should be underpowered but cheap anyway. This goes for ps4/5/6 and xsex series next uno one sexo sex or whatever they call it. They can't compete with PC in terms of price for performance anyway.
Lol. What? Consoles have had better performance for the dollar since the PS2. Some of these companies have even sold the hardware at a loss to make money selling games and subscriptions. You cannot build a PC as powerful as the PS5 for $500. PC has always been more versatile, more expensive, and had better graphical fidelity. It DOES NOT have performance per dollar.
>Consoles have had better performance for the dollar since the PS2
At launch. After 1-3 years, you can exceed the console performance at the same price or lower.
I mean, Vita had 1:1 PS3 hardware power, and that was in 2012. For a 2024 console 1:1 PS4 hardware capability for a mobile device + decent battery life sounds like the right move.
>Vita >https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/playstation-3-gpu-90nm.c3405 >Pixel Rate 800.0 MPixel/s >Vertex Rate 100.0 MVertices/s >Texture Rate 1.600 GTexel/s >PS3 >https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/playstation-3-gpu-90nm.c3405 >Pixel Rate 4.400 GPixel/s >Vertex Rate 1.100 GVertices/s >Texture Rate 13.20 GTexel/s
You can also tell the PS3 is far more powerful just by looking at them.
Nobody can give you PS5 performance in a handheld today.
It's GPU is about equivalent (although it is a way newer architecture/GCN vs RDNA2) but it's CPU takes an absolute shit on the PS4 Pro. Yes. The Jaguar cores really were that bad.
I wonder if Oro was originally going to actually be one-handed. They made a big deal that CPS3 could have different left and right sprites for characters but they must have realized the effort was too much to bother
Are there any new game designs from the last couple of generations that wouldnt work on PS4 if they lowered resolution? Basically just open world shit with a ton of ai actors that do nothing but add atmosphere, and cpus have advanced so fast that whatever underpowered phone CPU they put in the switch 2 soc will be plenty to be better than what the PS4 had
>a new one is in the works
Bullshit. Valve still hasn't changed their statement from last year that they aren't looking to release a higher performance version at the moment and just a couple of months ago, they updated to the OLED version, which has a new SoC, so that one is going to stay for at least another 2 years.
Deck isn't a locked down ecosystem designed purely to take games hostage and advantage of consumers, came out years ago, while being very competitively priced it's still the best value you can get, and a new one will likely only be a year out from the switch 2.
People don't want to be stuck with future-failed gimped hardware again from nintendo that forces you to pay for online in your $60 games and at best will only be backwards compatible with the switch, while still requiring you to buy into a subscription or repurchase low effort ports if you want anything older.
I never thought the switch would flop. It's a nintendo handheld when there were zero other handhelds on the market. Nintendo handhelds have always sold well and the switch 2 will sell well. It just won't sell as well and I think this is where nintendo's hardware starts to die, if you don't already count them having to kill their home console line after repeated flops.
did they forget they're releasing this in an era where the steam deck exists which is comparable to a ps5's power. their weak ass last last gen hardware isn't going to fly this time
>2 million sold in 2/3 years
they aren't even in the same market you pleb, the deck is a niche supplement for PC gamers and performance extremists.
Nintendo consoles are for Nintendo fans, it has no competition because the entire reason people buy switches and its successor is for access to first party nintendo titles.
>Nintendo consoles are for Nintendo fans, it has no competition because the entire reason people buy switches and its successor is for access to first party nintendo titles.
Why do you people still say this after they literally killed their home console line after repeated flops? It's like you only came into this with the switch or haven't been around long enough to know any better. If you want to see the numbers for the core nintendo fanbase who'll buy their system purely for nintendo games, it's about 13 million, maybe another 10 if it got a mainline pokemon, which depending on palworld's legs may not be true anymore either. The vast majority of people who own a switch own it for its portability when there were no other options and because it's got a lot of games for a console, well beyond just nintendo, and then pick up nintendo games as a result of that, not the other way around.
>you want to see the numbers for the core nintendo fanbase who'll buy their system purely for nintendo games, it's about 13 million, maybe another 10 if it got a mainline pokemon
so 5 - 8 times the amount of people who bought steam decks ?
you just proved my point correct, it isn't competing with the steam deck, the type of person who buys that is completely different than those waiting for a switch 2 and in a lot of cases would probably just buy both if portable gaming is that big for them.
The masses don't know the deck exists. It's barely been marketed and isn't in retailers. And that is literally the only saving grace nintendo has. As far as the masses are concerned the switch 2 will likely be the only portable again, lucky you.
I'd argue the steam deck isn't that refined a portable experience anyway, it has a very complex menu and doesn't delete games properly so you have to navigate linux file structures.
it also relies on you already having a steam library to get the most use out of it and is off-putting to anyone who likes to own their games physically.
at least i didn't like mine outside of its steam cloud save feature and i play on pc quite a lot, if i didn't like it despite being familiar with linux and having a steam library i could see a average consumer thinking its straight up shit.

The deck has come a long way and the average person would be more than fine with the deck at this point if they stayed inside the steam frontend. I gifted my massive normalgay brother one who knows jackshit about computers, let alone what linux even is, and he uses it nearly every day. The reality is not caring about any of that technical shit goes both ways. Normalgays don't see it, they don't care, as long as the game runs, they don't even know what fps means. The only real hurdle for the deck at this point with normalgays is protonge for maximum compatibility, which is extremely simple to do, but likely still a bridge too far until some big e-celeb gives a 30 seconds step by step guide on how to do it.

>it also relies on you already having a steam library to get the most use out of it
You say that like consoles, especially nintendo ones, don't frequently require you to buy another library from scratch. If you've bought any steam games over the past 20 years, they'll all be waiting for you, no fuss, right there the moment you boot up the deck for the first time. I cannot stress how nice that is compared to consoles having grown up with them. With console people simply expect to be taken advantage of without even realizing it, it's become normalized.
I'm fine with the graphics being what they are.
PS4 tier looks fine and nintendo games are always on top, I'm just praying that there are no shitty fps drops like in Pokemon Violet.
I'm going to buy it and have fun and I hope it drops with a new Zelda game.
I believe it will be on par with the Steam Deck. The Deck is also "almost" a PS4, it achieves equal performance in games, but focusing on 800p while the PS4 (theoretically) focuses on Full HD.
The benefit of the deck at least is that it's a fully functional computer and supports mods. And the ps4 uses upscaling, if you hook up the deck to a tv and use fsr you'll get the same quality
>NOOOOO GIVE ME 2M POLY SANDWICHES AND 15 FRAMES PER SECOND
homie hardware limitations are what breed optimization. Games will look better after bottlenecks. Not to mention it's been established for over a decade that while people do like nice graphics, it's not what makes a game fun, good, or profitable. homie.
Switch 2 Specs:
2048 CUDA core Ampere based GPU 700MHz up to 1.5GHz
Two Cortex X1 cores up to 2.6GHz, Four Cortex A78 cores up to 2.2GHz
12GB LPDDR5 6.4Gbps
128-bit memory bus up to 102.4GB/s
Yes, the cucks at DF are wrong, screencap this.
It will be on par with a PS4 Pro.
No fricking way they're using Orin and even if they did it would never run anywhere close to 1.5ghz. At 1.6ghz on the GPU, it sucks back 60w for the whole SoC. That's 4x what the switch maxed out at.
That does sound promising. I'll reserve judgment then. At 1.5ghz, it would even be slightly more powerful than a PS4Pro. If they managed to get nvidia's support to make DLSS 3 and easy plug and play thing for devs, this could be very interesting. Anything current gen could also run on their console in that case.
dont know what it is with that game, but anyone who has emulated forgotten lands knows that only happens at the beginning. even at 15w TDP it runs at a stable 60 by the time you get to the car.
Probably just shader precaching. It's the bane of emulation to people who don't know any better or are just looking to shitpost. They see stuttering the first time the game is running, assume the entire game like that and rant about it not knowing it's a one and done deal and it's smooth sailing from there.

The game actually did run like shit when it first released but Yuzu got updated and fixed the performance. morons kept strutting around a video of it stuttering like crazy even though it wasn't true anymore. Lol.
>as someone who knows about technology I'm appalled by how bad of a deal it is >but tech illiterate children seem to enjoy it so okay
I think it should be obvious to you why people like it.
People were saying the NX/Switch was going to be more powerful than PS4. Then when it was getting closer to release/the specs came out, they were saying it was almost/nearly as powerful as PS4.
And now 7 years later, the EXACT same thing is happening with its successor. Wild.
Nobody but tech illiterate morons were saying that when the specs came out. The specs for the next gen one are pretty much clear at this point. They will be going with a semi custom ampere tegra SoC. The top one is slightly more powerful than a PS4Pro. The middle of the road one is around PS4 performance, the low-end one is a too small jump from the current switch, so it's almost clear that it's out of the picture.
>Nobody but tech illiterate morons were saying that when the specs came out.
Everyone thought it was going to be just over 1TFLOP (it's actually just under 0.5TFLOPS while docked).
>Swith 2 it's announced >It is not backwards compatible with Switch 1 games even though it uses ARM too.
Nintendo is so out of touch it is a possibility.
>out of touch >been around longer than any console developer >consistently innovating and leading the pack >completely dominating the market with their own niche that snoy and xbone can't compete with >but one anon thinks they are out of touch
This is the only thing I think could frick up the switch 2 launch. If they're actually this moronic, they're pretty much fricked, especially if the rumored $400 msrp is true.
Depends entirely on if they think they can get away with it or not. Worked just fine for the Switch and they've certainly become arrogant enough to try.
>Worked just fine for the Switch
They had a excuse for that one, the Wii and WiiU used a PowerPC CPU, different architecture to ARM.
Just like Sony with their Cell meme CPU on the PS3.
But the Switch 2 will use ARM again, so there is literally no excuse.
>They had a excuse for that one
And I want to emphasize that it is an excuse. You know what they don't have an excuse for? The 3DS. And no, the Switch did not need two screens, it could've easily shown both and still had touch control.
>>It is not backwards compatible with Switch 1 games even though it uses ARM too.
You need to pay that subscription to enable that feature. Only streaming like Playstation Plus Premium. :^)
One of the issues the switch has is games running like dog shit. Doesn't matter how good or bad the games are if they don't even run well. So you either have more powerful hardware to handle it, or "optimise" (try and perform a miracle). Alternatively you gimp your game hard during development so it runs well enough on switch which means all platforms suffer or go 1st party only. So yes, more power = better games. inb4 >bu-but you need other things for good games
Yeah no shit, nobody is denying that, but good hardware is still one of them.
It's dead jim. If anything palworld is just another indicator that they should double down. It was fricked the moment they didn't make botw a new ip like it should've been.
Switch 2 threads have been nothing but speculation over power. It happens every single time a new system is on the horizon. You can always reliably take the fanboy's most assured, confident expectation for specs, halve that capability, and it's what the system will be.
>snoys think their ps5 is a 4000 series equivalent >tendies think the switch2 will be a 3000 series equivalent
consoletroons are beyond moronic, good lord
It is Ampere based, just as the Switch was Maxwell based. Doesn't mean it's going to be at all on the same power level as any 30xx GPU, but it'll have the same tech.
The Switch's GPU is literally a feature match with the GTX 900 series from 2015, which technically puts it ahead of the PS4. It ultimately didn't matter since the Switch didn't have the raw horsepower to take advantage of it. It'll be a similar situation with the Switch 2.
So like when are we going to get some proper leaks? For a console that's supposedly on the horizon it's sort of weird that all we've gotten is just bare basic rumors like "this insider said this"
If that was the case the Lite wouldn't exist and there would a home console equivalent without the ability to treat it as a portable. I swear we need to start calling it a tranheld because you lads start acting like it was deadnamed any time someone correctly calls it a handheld.
That’s literally their business model when they make consoles. That’s the whole reason why their consoles are always cheaper than Sony and Microsoft; they use previous gen’s tech instead of the latest tech. So your joke just shows you actually don’t understand.
Good enough for me. Just let me play all my Switch games on it.
Oh my god, if Switch 2 actually lets you play Switch 1 games on it as well, that would be fricking it for Playstation and Xbox lmao. I don’t see how it would be possible to compete.
Yeah whatever, you know what I mean. Tech that isnt current gen tech. Nintendo actually said themselves this is what they do when they set out to make consoles. I’m too lazy to google search the sauce on that. But just looking at the Switch’s specs it’s apparent that it’s not the latest and greatest hardware, which it doesn’t need anyway because it’s a handheld.
In 2017, the Tegra X1 was pretty much the best mobile SoC at the time. There's a reason it took until 2022 to have a handheld gaming device that surpassed it. The technology just wasn't there.
>almost
I thought I read in some other article about switch 2 they said it was the same as ps4. That was either from lack of evidence or they just wanted the clicks.
>Switch 2 could be as powerful as a base PS4 >Going off the nintendo trends there will be a 60% it could be backwards compatible >Nintendo actually has games
Why is this a problem? If it ends up being overpriced then I can see getting upset about. For a possible 350 price range it doesn't seem like a bad deal.
its just shitposting
Its impressive the industry bent to its limitations and that some switch games look as good as they do for an 8 year old mobile chip
People shit posted that Switch wasnt as powerful as a 360 yet it's been the goat for 6 years straight, 140 million sales. Had perfectly fine ports of games like Nier Automata and Dragon Quest XI.
If Switch 2 is a PS4 level so be it. It will have more benefits such as DLSS. It only will need to render 720p and will still have 1080p+ visual fidelity.
And it even runs modern games like Apex, Doom 2016, and others just fine. Not as good as on PC or other consoles sure but the performance is totally good.
And people forget that the Nintendo Switch had more games - not just exclusives, but all the major games had Switch versions. People will flock to whatever console has more games that they actually want to play.
Doom renders reflections at 144p on the Switch and the dynamic resolution drops to 360p and still drops frames. Not even going to get started on the issues Apex has on Switch. Probably not the shining examples you want to use. Even 1st party games like ToTK drop into the 20s frequently.
Because "people" are ginormous morons who can't express any opinion without hyperbole. Some of them still claim Switch is weaker than PS2.
Obviously, Switch is much stronger than PS3 and Xbox 360. You don't have to look farther than ports from those consoles running at much higher resolutions and framerates, not to mention Switch being capable of running PS4 and Xbox One games.
In the same vein, Switch 2 will be much stronger than PS4. If Switch was PS3.5, Switch 2 will be a PS4.5 in terms of raw power.
With leaps and bounds better CPU and much faster storage than PS4, it will be a portable PS5.
Nintendo has built up such a behemoth of a library with the Switch with all the re-releases, ports and new games that span across so any genres and gaming generations that it'd be incomprehensibly moronic for them not to include backwards compatibility in the new system.
Nintendo always included BC, unless the architectures, or storage mediums were incompatible.
For the past few years on basically every financial meeting they've been talking around Switch 2 having BC without saying it explicitly
Literally all they would have to do is say game transfers or backwards compatibility. Yet they don't, and you have to ask yourself why they don't. And the answer is obvious, letting people keep their old games on relevant hardware is a huge loss when they'd rather make you rebuy those games ever decade or so or get you in on a rental service. Nintendo's also had an account system before that they could tie purchases to and they killed it off. It is very easy to look at that image and see them talking about NSO and basic account details more than anything.
they dont "have to" say shit until they're ready to announce a release
Yet they said all the rest.
Have you even read what that image says?
How does "holding your old games hostage on Switch" fits into "maintaining a lasting relationship with consumers"?
Have you even read what that image says?
How does "holding your old games hostage on Switch" fits into "maintaining a lasting relationship with consumers"?
The Switch has 4,000 games. That's a frick ton. But Sony has shown that morons will buy a next gen upgrade of previous gen games like TLoU 2 so frick it, put BC on it and then just release "BotW enhanced Switch 2 edition" and idiots will double dip.
>Nintendo has built up such a behemoth of a library with the Switch with all the re-releases, ports and new games that span across so any genres and gaming generations that it'd be incomprehensibly moronic for them not to include backwards compatibility in the new system.
I think making the new console backwards compatibility is painful for Nintendo, the newest modchip should work in Switch 2
So how much of this “news” of the Nintendo Switch 2 is actually legitimate and not speculation, guesses, clickbait, or “leaks” that are actually just homosexuals making shit up for clicks.
Beware of “news” that uses words or phrases like “likely”, “suggests,” “could,” “might,” etc.
In that article? None.
It's based on an email between Activision employees where they assumed "Switch is like PS3, so Switch 2 will be like PS4" (the author of the article added the "almost" by himself for good measure).
Those emails took place before Activision even talked to Nintendo about Switch 2 and Kotick confirmed in court that months later they still didn't have the dev kit.
I just noticed that Nintendo still sells classics like Final Fantasy I - VI and even game controllers for the N64, meanwhile piece of shit Sony and Xbox wont sell their classic games from Xbox 1 & 2 and PS 1 & 2 like Halo, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, and so on.
No, you are supposed to be impressed at the actual Switch 2 specs what will effortlessly mog Deck.
This is based on factual information (Nvidia hack) and not imagination like the article.
While I'm at it everybody posting article headlines is either not paying much attention to Switch 2 news or is dumb, we've known about the Drake chip on Switch 2 since Nvidia leaked it; its power is between a PS4 and a PS4 Pro. If anything Activision is lowballing it or being intentionally vague on "almost as powerful".
No, you are supposed to be impressed at the actual Switch 2 specs what will effortlessly mog Deck.
This is based on factual information (Nvidia hack) and not imagination like the article.
It won't "effortlessly mog" the Steam Deck, it'll be at or slightly above performance parity in actual practice.
>It won't "effortlessly mog" the Steam Deck, it'll be at or slightly above performance parity in actual practice
In portable mode. Docked mode will be 2x stronger like it is on Switch.
It's not, though. With standard T239 (12 SM) at 550 MHz, which is probably around the peak efficiency clock, that's around 1.69 TFLOPS. The Steam Deck maxxes out at 1.6 TFLOPS. Since docked is around 2 times handheld, that should bump it up to 3.38 TFLOPS. It is entirely reasonable, expected even, that Switch 2 should surpass the Steam Deck.
We already know from the Nvidia hack that it'll be better than the Deck, see [...] and it being Nvidia doesn't really matter for the bill of materials. Sure, they overcharge for consumer GPUs, but a Nintendo system is a far bigger audience, so Nvidia wants to stay in Nintendo's good graces and not frick up like they did with the original Xbox and PS3.

Exactly. The Switch 2 will also have access to more features like DLSS, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and mesh shader support, which should put it even further above the Deck.

There are a few things:
1. The 2050 Mobile has only 4 GB of VRAM, whereas most insider estimates have Switch 2 RAM at either 12 or 16 GB.
2. DLSS estimates are probably borked by doing post-processing after DLSS rather than before.
3. Nintendo could have access to DLSS concurrency, where a frame is buffered in order to have DLSS run simultaneously with the rest of rendering.
4. There could be specific optimizations in a console environment.

>tflops as a measure of performance with our without upscaling
moron
>It won't "effortlessly mog" the Steam Deck, it'll be at or slightly above performance parity in actual practice.
I highly doubt this just because of how competitively priced the deck is while nintendo takes a profit on their hardware and is using nvidia which is far more expensive. I don't see them wanting to go above $300 for the entry model, let alone $400.
We already know from the Nvidia hack that it'll be better than the Deck, see

Nintendofan here. I swear this isn't right, this isn't how things were meant to be. It must be your fault somehow. Sony's consoles are overpowered, overpriced and unreasonable for any game developer or consumer. That's why Nintendo gets all the exclusives.
Power on par with a Steam Deck. ACTUALLY portable? Great. I am not gonna lug around that foot long monstrosity with weird bulbous edges and use it in public. Looks like a chinkshit Nintendo Switch.
you guys are complaining that the ps5 has no games and you are the problem the reason why we only have remakes and sequels is partly because of this race for graphics nintendo understood and got out of this impasse by being innovative and finding another way to play
for me video games are not realism. the PS6 is not out yet and I can already see what Sony is going to do
sony's mental moronation concerning the americanization of their game publishing to the point of shuttering their japanese studios and their total adherence to an unsustainable AAA dev cycle where even their AAA devs are asking to please spend less money on this dumb bullshit is not the fault of graphics prostitutes
you homosexual Hispanic gamers always cry about Graphics, Nintendo realized long ago that Graphics dont matter, and their being proved right. Gameplay and Artstyle are FAR more important
I don't own a switch, or a ps4 so this is just interesting to read about. I hope Berserk gets a cool game on whatever console, even PC at this point. Even if it's fromsoft or something.
This essentially means that they’re going to rely on half assed downgraded 8th gen ports to carry them and the braindead Nintendies on this board will cheer and swallow it up and spin the narrative to those games no longer being PS/Xbox exclusives making them worthless
>I just hope it's not another portable meme, I gain absolutely nothing from that and I just want a regular console.
Well you're out of luck. It's 100% another hybrid like the Switch and that's a hard fact given what we know.
>Who the FRICK buys Nintendo consoles to play multiplats you dumb homosexual?
Millions of poorgays who can only afford one console and choose the Mario one. It's why almost every game that can feasibly run on Switch releases on it, sometimes even when it doesn't release on other stronger consoles.
Good enough for me. Just let me play all my Switch games on it.
Just get a Steam Deck. I will play Switch 1 and 2 game at this rate.
How low have the deckies fallen literally begin for sales in a nerd board
from what i heard is they are going to use AI to upscale the graphics quality.
in addition a clever way to make lesser quality games look better than they should, it will also improve the quality of switch games you previously purchased.
such as BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and Smash Bros.
this is all rumored, but this would be more rewarding that what gen 5 consoles offered.
a reward to the past games you purchased. when buying a new switch an instant remaster without even doing nothing but putting in your older switch titles.
like i said this is all rumored.
Nice, my PC will be strong enough to play switch 2 games
>same architecture
>same GPU manufacturer
Will probably be able to emulate it mere months after release as long as you have an RTX card.
I honestly hope the switch 2 is near impossible to crack and emulate, just to spite you
seethe tendie
Cope turd worlder
KEK my pc is literally powerful enough to emulate the "beefed up" version of your shitty handheld
it wont be
Tegra X1 was cracked years before Switch was out and it still took 18 months to hack the Switch
>Tegra X1 was cracked
This is all I care about. I bought a Switch but now I emulate the few games I care about. I'm not buying their trash hardware to play 4 or 5 games total for that entire generation when I can emulate them at better framerates and resolutions.
>Almost as powerful as an 11 year old piece of hardware
They never learn, do they?
That's the joke
Doesn't mean I can't be disappointed, but it still was expected. Fricking Nintendo.
how "almost" are we talking here?
that's the real question now
like upscales 600p @ 25 fps mid settings
Learn what exactly? The switch is lower power than the PS3 and still outsold the PS4 and Xbone.
I dunno maybe it would be nice to play games at a steady 30-60? Is it really all that cringe to want nice things?
If you want nice things you shouldn't expect them from nintendo to begin with
Frame rate isn't a function of power, it's a function of dev restraint. All games could run at 60 fps if developers were willing to work with the hardware they have, rather than overtax it. The fact games run at 30 or less says that they will always run at that. If you give a dev with a sub 30fps game more power, he won't up the framerate, he'll just throw more things on screen.
rare intelligent post on this website.
people are like
>T-THIS TIME, THIS GEN, I SWEAR 60 FPS WILL BE THE NORM
no it wont. 30 fps will ALWAYS be the norm. and thats the ideal target. frames will also ALWAYS go lower, because devs cant code for shit, especially when outsourced to some poos.
It's more powerful than a base PS4 by a lot, which was MY point.
>runs games at 800p
No it isn't moron
The point he was making was that the Switch 2 has no excuse to be less powerful than a PS4 when the Deck is at least more powerful than that.
Your argument falls apart when you realize the Steam Deck isn't more powerful than a PS4.
>1.6 vs 1.8tflop
>inb4 but new GPUs have better IPC
No shit, that's why in real life performance both the SteamDeck and the new Nintendo console will be more powerful than a PS4.
>The switch is lower power than the PS3
This isn't something to brag about
>BUT IT SOLD..
Who cares, the amount the sell affects you in no way whatsoever, how powerful the console is does however
People consider me a Xbox fanboy, but people this is what a real fanboy is, someone who brags about what helps the company and shareholders and being happy with receiving less
I'm now gonna spit on you
*Spits*
Handhelds are the best selling consoles. No one cares about muh power. If they did, the knock off PCs wouldn't have been so consistently murdered.
Nintendo alone has sold more handhelds than almost all of it's contemporaries combined.
On a handheld
meanwhile, surface pro has like 16gb of ram and a built in gpu with 1080ti specs
ask your parents if there is a difference in price between a surface pro and Nintendo switch
So it is going to be as powerful as a Vita?
Switch was more powerful than 360 and PS3.
Learn that they still sell the most with weaker, cheaper and far more profitable hardware on the nature of selling software people want to play and pay for???
>win the generation with a 2012 tablet
>"t-tt-t-t-t-they never learn, r-r-righ?"
You never learn. Gamecube flop made them stop caring about graphics.
Gamecube was also underpowered, and so was N64. The only time power was part of their strategy was on the Super Nintendo.
wrong, moron
>How to out yourself as a zoomer
t. doesn't remember SNES being mocked for slowdown when more than two sprites were on screen
It's still more powerful than a Genesis, so I don't see your point.
Wrong again, moron.
Nope. Sega responded to SNES's more powerful tech with the CD and 32X. Get yourself educated troony.
Counterpoint: sega does what nintendont. Also: blast processing
Bullshit, you homosexuals made a big deal how better RE4 graphics on the GCN is, compared to the PS2 version.
>Gamecube was also underpowered
You do realize graphics on that console were almost on par with original xbox?
The keyword is efficiency here. Look how the ps3 sucked.
What should they "learn"? How to outsell their competitors? They already do that, Microshit is the one who should take notes. The Switch has outsold Shitbox Series X every year since 2020
>All these seething replies from Pokegays after they got blown the frick out by Palworld
Tendies can't catch a break huh
Anyone who likes shillworld has no business complaining about Pokémon on Switch.
They're both trash to someone who actually likes Pokémon.
have a nice day Eric
and yet the Switch is winning, Xbox and Playstation are selling games and consoles with insane markup while putting their games on PC, then you got the Switch that's incredibly cheaper, far more convenient, has minimal install times in comparison, and all you can complain about is the age of technology rather than talking about what they're able to do with the technology that Playstation and Xbox never could
why bother when manchildren will buy it anyway?
>Wii bestseller 7th gen
>Switch bestseller 8th gen
Yeah they never learn.
What generation was Wii U again?
The Lost Generation
>as an 11 year old piece of hardware
The PS4 sells more hardware than PS5, homie
PS2 also sold more than the Xbox, and most Xbox ports were ages better than most other versions.
>shit hardware
>still completely dominating the console market
>the only consoles that aren't just a worse PC
Nintendies won, hardware is at the point where even mid-tier is "good enough" for nearly everything. Hardwaregays lost, good games are all that matter.
It's apparently everyone else that never learn.
Nintendo is always a generation behind.
>gbc was a portable nes
>gba was a portable snes
>ds was a portable n64
>3ds was a portable gamecube
>switch was a portable xbox 360
You should try learning about technology first.
First of all, that's not what those emails said.
Second, a 1.8TF device in 2024 is in completely different realm than 1.8TF device in 2013
>Over a decade of rendering tech advancements (PS4 is so old it can't even support half precision calculations, not to mention stuff like VRR, VRS, mesh shaders etc.)
>Order of magnitude better CPU than Jaguar that was already obsolete garbage in 2013
>SSD instead of a fricking 5400 RPM HDD
Light years ahead of PS4 in every metric despite having "the same" teraflops.
And Switch 2 will actually be closer to 3TF
lets up the sales numbers to see who needs to learn a thing or two
Meanwhile Nintendo is running rings around every developer on the planet with 15 year old toaster tech.
It's honestly embarrassing just how untouchabley far ahead Nintendo are compared to everyone else.
I wonder what Nintendo could do if they had access to the most advanced tech. But still, limitations breed creativity.
What's the point of getting upset over your own imagination?
I'm past caring, it's just what I expect.
>metroid
>but you start with all your powers
Hated it when Zelda did it but I would not even buy it if Metroid attempted the same thing. Complete waste of a franchise if they go that route.
it's no secret
Nintendo makes games, and the west makes propaganda with a veneer of a game
I only want a Switch 2 that boost Switch 1's games to constant 60fps/1080
imo consoles should be underpowered but cheap anyway.
At launch. After 1-3 years, you can exceed the console performance at the same price or lower.
thank you saar i will do the needfull and kindly buy playstetion and xsex saar
Thats why Series S exists
???
Both the Series X and PS5 are cheap.
Reminder that a PS2 would cost 530US$ when adjusted for inflation.
True, if it weren't for Nintendo I wouldn't own any consoles at all.
So you're telling me the PS5 will be destroyed by a last gen console TWICE?!?!
Using this (flawed) logic Mobile games destroys everything, who cares what the most morons buy
it's not moronic logic, it actually tells what the Switch sales mean
Please never type anything again.
I mean, Vita had 1:1 PS3 hardware power, and that was in 2012. For a 2024 console 1:1 PS4 hardware capability for a mobile device + decent battery life sounds like the right move.
>Vita
>https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/playstation-3-gpu-90nm.c3405
>Pixel Rate 800.0 MPixel/s
>Vertex Rate 100.0 MVertices/s
>Texture Rate 1.600 GTexel/s
>PS3
>https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/playstation-3-gpu-90nm.c3405
>Pixel Rate 4.400 GPixel/s
>Vertex Rate 1.100 GVertices/s
>Texture Rate 13.20 GTexel/s
You can also tell the PS3 is far more powerful just by looking at them.
Nobody can give you PS5 performance in a handheld today.
What console’s tech specs are comparable to the Steam Deck’s?
Deck similar to PS4 thanks to only having to render at 800p
How’s its processor and GPU speed and everything else though?
It's GPU is about equivalent (although it is a way newer architecture/GCN vs RDNA2) but it's CPU takes an absolute shit on the PS4 Pro. Yes. The Jaguar cores really were that bad.
The Vita had to do so many downgrades to make the fps stable and the game looks like shit.
*pro
Why not just have a main console and a separate handheld like they always used to do? Nintendo could compete with Sony if they had multiplats.
>why not do the thing that failed miserably again?
>almost as powerful as a console that was kind of weak when it released in 2013, over 10 years ago
nintensissies, we won!!!!
What they don't tell you is its not going to be handheld
IF it's not, they have already failed and they know it.
The Switch is what it is purely because of Pokémon. Game Freak refuses to make non-handheld games in the main series. They can't go back.
Funny part it's: no, it's not. It's less than that shit.
>Nintendo fighting one-handed to give Snoy and Xbot a chance to survive
LMAO
I wonder if Oro was originally going to actually be one-handed. They made a big deal that CPS3 could have different left and right sprites for characters but they must have realized the effort was too much to bother
They already did it with Gil I guess
I REALLY hope they think about making a slightly more powerful dock-only version.
>*with DLSS and frame generation enabled
But with games!
i rather play them on my steam deck oled.
>Rereleases, full priced!
>no backwards compat
>BING BING WAHOO #245326709

>(You) obviously
I didn't say that thoughbeit
>>le heckin soijak

Kek holy seethe. I smell onions mixed with shit
>S-Seething!!!!
Keep projecting shartysubhuman. It's over for you
Imagine being so mindbroken to actually type this shit out
Reset the counter.
>But with games!
Sure if you want to recount every nintendo rehash all over again.
>PS has no gaems!!1! xD
have a nice day
Truth hurts, huh?
Your cringe hurts
They obviously meant that
thats not what he said
All computer chips are only as powerful as they can be cooled.
Kek
Deck is 2 years old and a new one is in the works.
The new Switch will be outdated in a matter of months like the Wii U was.
>a new one is in the works
Bullshit. Valve still hasn't changed their statement from last year that they aren't looking to release a higher performance version at the moment and just a couple of months ago, they updated to the OLED version, which has a new SoC, so that one is going to stay for at least another 2 years.
>hasn't changed their statement
>besides the fact they just released a newer, higher performance version
????????
Okay Gabe.
Deck is double as heavy, more power hungry and Steam Deck 2 will be all that.
key word "almost" which means no it doesn't have PS4 specs.
Neither does the steam deck.
Deck isn't a locked down ecosystem designed purely to take games hostage and advantage of consumers, came out years ago, while being very competitively priced it's still the best value you can get, and a new one will likely only be a year out from the switch 2.
People don't want to be stuck with future-failed gimped hardware again from nintendo that forces you to pay for online in your $60 games and at best will only be backwards compatible with the switch, while still requiring you to buy into a subscription or repurchase low effort ports if you want anything older.
>it's another episode of "homosexuals on Ganker think they know better"
Didn't you learn anything from when you thought the switch would flop?
I never thought the switch would flop. It's a nintendo handheld when there were zero other handhelds on the market. Nintendo handhelds have always sold well and the switch 2 will sell well. It just won't sell as well and I think this is where nintendo's hardware starts to die, if you don't already count them having to kill their home console line after repeated flops.
>It just won't sell as well
GTX 1050 equivalent is a lot stronger than R9 270x equivalent however.
Lost to Deck. Lost to Palworld
did they forget they're releasing this in an era where the steam deck exists which is comparable to a ps5's power. their weak ass last last gen hardware isn't going to fly this time
>comparable to a ps5's power
Tell me own neither of those without telling me
the steam deck can run every modern day game, it's not a gen behind. 2 gens behind is a joke stop apologizing for nintendo's incompetence
>trying to twist the facts
Stating the obvious isn't apologizing for anything. This was about power and you're objectively wrong.
If your handheld isn't at least a grand then it's at least one Gen behind if you're lucky you delusional moron.
>steam deck exists which is comparable to a base ps4's power
Fixed.
Just to keep the kids shut up in the backseat.
>Steamdeck
look it's a neat little thing but it's not even a blip on nintendo's radar. it won't affect switch 2 sales at all
Just like palworld
and it's why nintendo is going to decline
I'm fine with the graphics being what they are.
PS4 tier looks fine and nintendo games are always on top, I'm just praying that there are no shitty fps drops like in Pokemon Violet.
I'm going to buy it and have fun and I hope it drops with a new Zelda game.
>almost
it will be as powerful as PS5
I believe it will be on par with the Steam Deck. The Deck is also "almost" a PS4, it achieves equal performance in games, but focusing on 800p while the PS4 (theoretically) focuses on Full HD.
The benefit of the deck at least is that it's a fully functional computer and supports mods. And the ps4 uses upscaling, if you hook up the deck to a tv and use fsr you'll get the same quality
for me is the steam deck
Two more weeks till the switch 2 announcement
Are you being cerial or memeing?
He's actually serious.
It's coming in early Febuary
PS4 games looked great, why am I supposed to be upset about this?
exactly
You zre the cancer that is stagnating this industry.
Muh graffix homosexualry is what's ruining the industry, you moron.
>NOOOOO GIVE ME 2M POLY SANDWICHES AND 15 FRAMES PER SECOND
homie hardware limitations are what breed optimization. Games will look better after bottlenecks. Not to mention it's been established for over a decade that while people do like nice graphics, it's not what makes a game fun, good, or profitable. homie.
So, No Man's Sky will still run at 30fps?
That's neat, is it smaller tho? I want something that's actually portable and handheld, nut just a brick sized gimmick.
Buy a switch lite, gay
I wanted to, but it doesn't have an oled screen, Black person.
>almost
I can't wait to play PALmons on it.
>128-bit
we're finally getting Super Mario 128 boys
No fricking way they're using Orin and even if they did it would never run anywhere close to 1.5ghz. At 1.6ghz on the GPU, it sucks back 60w for the whole SoC. That's 4x what the switch maxed out at.
MX570 at 1.15GHz pulls 15W, and that's with Samsung shitty 8nm
With TSMC 5N it could be a lot better
That does sound promising. I'll reserve judgment then. At 1.5ghz, it would even be slightly more powerful than a PS4Pro. If they managed to get nvidia's support to make DLSS 3 and easy plug and play thing for devs, this could be very interesting. Anything current gen could also run on their console in that case.
1.5Ghz would be in docked mode, 700MHz in undocked.
the switch shits on the deck
the switch 2 will completely destroy it's future
>the switch shits on the deck
No lol
You can even emulate a Switch on the Deck lol
it emulates like shit
if you want to emulate use a pc
It is a pc and emulates switch just fine.
dont know what it is with that game, but anyone who has emulated forgotten lands knows that only happens at the beginning. even at 15w TDP it runs at a stable 60 by the time you get to the car.
The game is locked to 30 out of the box, the webm is just showing that it can indeed emulate at the same framerate as the switch runs it
Probably just shader precaching. It's the bane of emulation to people who don't know any better or are just looking to shitpost. They see stuttering the first time the game is running, assume the entire game like that and rant about it not knowing it's a one and done deal and it's smooth sailing from there.
i WILL finish wooly world on CEMU! mark my words!
Just randomly found this in a video I looked up on the subject lol
?t=240
The game actually did run like shit when it first released but Yuzu got updated and fixed the performance. morons kept strutting around a video of it stuttering like crazy even though it wasn't true anymore. Lol.
I have a deck, and it can barely run high end PS2 emulation. SMT: DDS2 chugs like a motherfricker in open areas
The switch was already underpowered on release, Qualcomm and Apple already had ARM SOCs several times faster than the tegra X1 back in 2017
>June 2023
Black person
That part is also complete speculation on Activision's part if you bother to read the mails. Not that it's going to be THAT much better, but yeah.
>as someone who knows about technology I'm appalled by how bad of a deal it is
>but tech illiterate children seem to enjoy it so okay
I think it should be obvious to you why people like it.
fricking kek it's just sad at this point isn't it
I just want a decently powerful nintendo console man
That’s fine as long as they have a pro version for people who want to play on their 4k tvs…
>28 jun
ok
Everyone thought it was going to be just over 1TFLOP (it's actually just under 0.5TFLOPS while docked).
thats not bad for a handheld thats smaller than a laptop
A theoretical Switch 2 on T239 using current docked Switch clocks would be 2.4TF.
So faster than the base PS4, but much slower than the PS4 Pro.
Theoretical.
I fully expect this device to be a little under 4TF. DLSS will only enhance what is already there.
If the switch 2 releases with a new Zelda game I will wrap it in a condom and shove it in my ass before playing.
I will stream it.
And tendies think the Shitch 2 will be THE console, lmao.
>Swith 2 it's announced
>It is not backwards compatible with Switch 1 games even though it uses ARM too.
Nintendo is so out of touch it is a possibility.
>out of touch
>been around longer than any console developer
>consistently innovating and leading the pack
>completely dominating the market with their own niche that snoy and xbone can't compete with
>but one anon thinks they are out of touch
you should stop reading so much slop
people have hated on nintendo since the 80s
haters are gonna hate while I enjoy games
>I enjoy games
On Yuzu, for free :^)
poor people that do this wouldn't be able to buy the games anyway so I don't care
I'm going to have a switch 2 and I am going to have fun
>poor people
My PC costs like 10 Switches, and I will keep playing Nintendo games for free, tendie :^)
my pc costs at least 15 switches
you're still poor
my graphics card costs more than 10 Switches lmao
Why are you using a quadro GPU?
>4500US$ GPU
My guy got ripped off, I got my 4090 close to MSRP, 1700US$.
you can get a switch light for $200
It's Lite, it's not a soda.
And the OLED goes for 300.
And 3000US$ for a 4090 is still a rip off.
Pretendo Copium
That would be extremely funny, even funnier would be the tendies defending Nintendo.
That sounds pathetic. I've made it a habit never to underestimate Nintendo, but this release seems eerily familiar to the Wii - Wii U release...
am I finally going to be able to play it without any framedrops ?
I have a lot of games that need more oomph ..
Palpals we'll be able to assassinate Pokemon on Pokemons own hardware very soon
I've just completely stopped caring about what Nintendo do at this point.
literally me but when the gamecube got out
people need to realize nintendo wants to compete with mobile, it doesn't care about the other markets because they don't matter anymore
>switch 2 will be using almost 2 decade old hardware at the end of it's life
And it'll still gets tens of millions of sales. Frick this gay earth.
if you buy things exclusively for the hardware, and not what's on there, you are the moron lmao
The hardware has everything to do with what's on there moron.
If you buy consoles you are moronic.
HOW MUCH WILL THE SWITCH 2 COST?
$400 €400
I don't think that will be able to play Palworld.
This is like if a company released something that was almost as powerful as the N64 in 2007
morons that think more power = better games
are the reason why everything is shit now
>dude just optimise it bro and a fully fledged console game will run on mobile hardware flawlessly
>i'm...i'm gonna optomooooose
READ homie
One of the issues the switch has is games running like dog shit. Doesn't matter how good or bad the games are if they don't even run well. So you either have more powerful hardware to handle it, or "optimise" (try and perform a miracle). Alternatively you gimp your game hard during development so it runs well enough on switch which means all platforms suffer or go 1st party only. So yes, more power = better games. inb4
>bu-but you need other things for good games
Yeah no shit, nobody is denying that, but good hardware is still one of them.
Bloodborne on switch 2 WHEN?
Please let the next Zelda game not be another openworldslop
It's dead jim. If anything palworld is just another indicator that they should double down. It was fricked the moment they didn't make botw a new ip like it should've been.
That's a fail.
>"I want my next gen console to be weaker than it could and should be, I want a worse experience" - Nintendo boot lickers, for some reason
I thought gameplay was what mattered, why are you guys sperging out about hardware specs
it is the current subject to be fair
Whatever it takes to shit on tendie.
Switch 2 threads have been nothing but speculation over power. It happens every single time a new system is on the horizon. You can always reliably take the fanboy's most assured, confident expectation for specs, halve that capability, and it's what the system will be.
better specs mean more likely for games to run at 60fps
decklickers shakin in their boots
I don't care about power so much, I just want a Joycon Pro with a sensorbar and Miiverse 2
Proper pointer controls and a stylus for the touch screen while we're at it would be fricking heaven.
Here's the actual known specs, not "Activision employee's assumptions from before the execs even talked with Nintendo and received the dev kit"
>Here's the actual known specs
>almost all of it is speculation
Here's the actual known specs
>snoys think their ps5 is a 4000 series equivalent
>tendies think the switch2 will be a 3000 series equivalent
consoletroons are beyond moronic, good lord
It is Ampere based, just as the Switch was Maxwell based. Doesn't mean it's going to be at all on the same power level as any 30xx GPU, but it'll have the same tech.
The Switch's GPU is literally a feature match with the GTX 900 series from 2015, which technically puts it ahead of the PS4. It ultimately didn't matter since the Switch didn't have the raw horsepower to take advantage of it. It'll be a similar situation with the Switch 2.
That's already far beyond anything PS4 could do.
And stuff like memory bus width were detailed in NVN2 code
So basically:
Undocked = base PS4
Docked = PS4 Pro
Not bad.
Can't wait for Yuzu to enable support for it :^)
Doubt it will happen without a whole new emulator, or at least significant rewrite
dont care lol
Iwata would be rolling in his grave. This era Nintendo became everything he stood against.
Yet it's highly financially successful.
Nice, can’t wait to play the next Zelda and then nothing else for eight years
So like when are we going to get some proper leaks? For a console that's supposedly on the horizon it's sort of weird that all we've gotten is just bare basic rumors like "this insider said this"
>people think performance matters
Nintendo has games
The others don’t
Weird, my 'eck seems to have more games than the switch
So the battery runs out in 30 minutes
will nintendo stop making standalone handheld systems or are they just holding off on them since the switch is a hybrid?
They stopped making consoles, they're full handheld now. Shit just comes bundled with a Super Gameboy unless you buy a Lite.
Switch is a hybrid.
70% handheld, 30% console. And I'm being generous there with every revision is for handheld mode and the Lite can't be docked at all.
It's a home console first.
Oh my god, if Switch 2 actually lets you play Switch 1 games on it as well, that would be fricking it for Playstation and Xbox lmao. I don’t see how it would be possible to compete.
>600p @ 20fps @ low settings is actually good for you.
holy mother of cope
Who you quoting, ESLkun?
Yeah, it's pretty close to PS5
2023?
That was either from lack of evidence or they just wanted the clicks.
>almost
lmaooo those shills are going to pretend ps3 tier games are impressive for the next 7 years again
>muh graphix
Frick off, Snoy.
I will wait for a themed console instead of buying on release but I'll 100% get it. Just out of spite for Ganker and steamies.
I dont need it to cost 599 usd and that would benefit literally nobody
anyone else planning on buying 2 and keeping one boxed for the inevitable hack?
I still dont own a ps4, by the time it was cheap enough to just play bloodborne ps5 came out
Now i just dont care anymore
Bloodborne is a great game but not worth buying a whole console for anyway.
I fricking know, thats why i bought lies of p but its not the same. It good, but i need bloodborne pc
Shitch 2 would be the loser of next gen, but that would imply that it’s even in the same generation, lmao.
Switch 2 will be the first gen 10 console.
i think they're overdue for a flop.
They've had it too good for too long
their last console before the switch flopped massively
and gamecube before it yes, i know
>Switch 2 could be as powerful as a base PS4
>Going off the nintendo trends there will be a 60% it could be backwards compatible
>Nintendo actually has games
Why is this a problem? If it ends up being overpriced then I can see getting upset about. For a possible 350 price range it doesn't seem like a bad deal.
its just shitposting
Its impressive the industry bent to its limitations and that some switch games look as good as they do for an 8 year old mobile chip
will they really call it the Super Switch (SS)?
Why bother aiming for PS5 graphics when graphics plateaued a generation ago?
but it does play wiiu games
(devil's third remaster please)
And yet, PS3 would be physically incapable of even that much.
The Switch's GPU is barely faster. It's literally the CPU is far better (but still not great) and it has more/faster RAM.
Yes. Thank you for agreeing with me.
I agree that the Switch can barely run games that the PS3 couldn't at all. Yes. What a win anon.
At least you're not claiming Switch is weaker than PS3 anymore
I never did. The reply with the resolutions was my first one. There's more than one person in this thread anon.
So it's practically a guarantee they won't.
nah they will, they cant afford to build an install base from scratch again. The switch infrastructure works and they're gonna keep it
>they cant afford to build an install base from scratch again
That's where you're wrong.
I mean yes they literally can afford with money, but they won't
That's what Furukawa's been saying for the last few years.
And having BC doesn't mean they can't release ports as well
Nintendo always included BC, unless the architectures, or storage mediums were incompatible.
They're not saying anything about the console at all, yet, dum dum.
Yet they said all the rest.
What is PR speak?
Because Nintendo fans are spastics so they have to word their shit carefully
See
Have you even read what that image says?
2024 AD...same power as a GTX 1060? not that impressive
ps4 power divided by 2 screens = 2x ps2
Its over
So how much of this “news” of the Nintendo Switch 2 is actually legitimate and not speculation, guesses, clickbait, or “leaks” that are actually just homosexuals making shit up for clicks.
Beware of “news” that uses words or phrases like “likely”, “suggests,” “could,” “might,” etc.
thank you mr media literate for the obvious
Obvious to you and I but not to the 90% of the dipshits out there
In that article?
Well, how many ps4 era ports it could possibly get?
I just noticed that Nintendo still sells classics like Final Fantasy I - VI and even game controllers for the N64, meanwhile piece of shit Sony and Xbox wont sell their classic games from Xbox 1 & 2 and PS 1 & 2 like Halo, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, and so on.
Am I supposed to not be impressed at something with Steam Deck-ish specs coming from a first party manufacturer not known for powerful machines?
No, you are supposed to be impressed at the actual Switch 2 specs what will effortlessly mog Deck.
This is based on factual information (Nvidia hack) and not imagination like the article.
While I'm at it everybody posting article headlines is either not paying much attention to Switch 2 news or is dumb, we've known about the Drake chip on Switch 2 since Nvidia leaked it; its power is between a PS4 and a PS4 Pro. If anything Activision is lowballing it or being intentionally vague on "almost as powerful".
You understand the chip they're pulling those numbers from runs at 60W right? They're not putting a full Orion SoC in the Switch 2. Lmao.
It is entirely reasonable, expected even, that Switch 2 should surpass the Steam Deck.
>tflops as a measure of real world performance
moron
Exactly. The Switch 2 will also have access to more features like DLSS, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and mesh shader support, which should put it even further above the Deck.
What was your response to the DF deepdive showing it wasn't very good?
We already know from the Nvidia hack that it'll be better than the Deck, see
and it being Nvidia doesn't really matter for the bill of materials. Sure, they overcharge for consumer GPUs, but a Nintendo system is a far bigger audience, so Nvidia wants to stay in Nintendo's good graces and not frick up like they did with the original Xbox and PS3.
Nintendofan here. I swear this isn't right, this isn't how things were meant to be. It must be your fault somehow. Sony's consoles are overpowered, overpriced and unreasonable for any game developer or consumer. That's why Nintendo gets all the exclusives.
good for them, tendies can finally play some good games
Switch 2 will be the next Wii U.
Power on par with a Steam Deck. ACTUALLY portable? Great. I am not gonna lug around that foot long monstrosity with weird bulbous edges and use it in public. Looks like a chinkshit Nintendo Switch.
you guys are complaining that the ps5 has no games and you are the problem the reason why we only have remakes and sequels is partly because of this race for graphics nintendo understood and got out of this impasse by being innovative and finding another way to play
for me video games are not realism. the PS6 is not out yet and I can already see what Sony is going to do
sony's mental moronation concerning the americanization of their game publishing to the point of shuttering their japanese studios and their total adherence to an unsustainable AAA dev cycle where even their AAA devs are asking to please spend less money on this dumb bullshit is not the fault of graphics prostitutes
i truly do not know if there will be a PS6
>Activision is Microsoft so Microsoft is claiming Nintendo's next console will be around PS4 level
Microsoft leaking Nintendo hardware is pretty sus
you homosexual Hispanic gamers always cry about Graphics, Nintendo realized long ago that Graphics dont matter, and their being proved right. Gameplay and Artstyle are FAR more important
PS2 games looked great and I can play them on my phone.
Make good games, and it doesn’t matter how powerful your system is.
>ps4
>win GAMES
Tendies won.
Who the FRICK buys Nintendo consoles to play multiplats you dumb homosexual?
>I just hope it's not another portable meme, I gain absolutely nothing from that and I just want a regular console.
Well you're out of luck. It's 100% another hybrid like the Switch and that's a hard fact given what we know.
Yeah, I figured as much...
Oh well, I'll get it after the first price drop I guess.
