Slaves.
Pokemon can be controlled but ultimately have unwritten rules of what you can and can't do with them. Pals have no such limits, they're property. This means you can treat them as people but also at the same time as objects to be used and recycled.
Pokemon can't even pronounce their own names. In the Generations anime (which follows the games timeline and therefore is more canon than the fanfic adventures of selfinsert Ash) pokemon just growl and hiss like wild animals
Don't you remember the episode with the giant (mechanical) Pokemon where Meowth got btfo when Ekans and Koffing said Pokemon only do bad things because of their trainers. Meowth doesn't follow Pokemon nature, but human nature. So it makes sense he eats at the table.
>Pokemon only do bad things because of their trainers
Pokemon do bad things because of genetic differences in IQ, which affects aggression, impulse control, and deferred gratification.
Does anything come of this or just monster of the week thing? I know in the one season of the anime Team Rocket finally "wins" but gets BTFO by their own pedobear.
I haven't really seen the episode I just saw this pic cause I was curious if Meowth knew any other moves. Doesn't seem like it. At least not for Meowth and Team Rocket, they get blasted off early.

Did these three ever get their story arc concluded when the ash anime ended?
I fricking hated the way they dropped Ash, they didnt bother to give anyone a proper sendoff instead its: Ash continues his immortal journey you just dont get to see it now get fricked I guess lmao
Digimon has Kizuna movie which could have been a perfect send off to the original anime, or at least it would be if the story didn't contradict everything that came before it
I dont consider any of that shit canon so it didnt bother me much only Adventure and 02 are canon to me.
Everything else its some parallel dimension crap in my head
That's the thing. As much as they're ending it, the way it ended means they can unend it at any time. Ash and Team Rocket can be neatly locked in a vault, pristine and unchanging, ready to go whenever they're needed. They didn't get a send-off. They were put on indefinite hiatus.

I remember I heard the show was ending and had a dream one of the nights about an episode where the three break up and go their own separate ways. Idk what Meowth did since it was a dream from over a year ago, but I do know James' family was involved.
This break up episode was the Butch/Cassidy episode where James and Jessie found their counterparts and tried civilian life before deciding it wasn't for them
Yes actually, it's just rare. Wallace had Terriermon and Lopmon, Ryo had multiple partners, canonically three minimum plus some borrowed ones. Next Order let you have two Digimon at once. The video games are generally more rule bendy and you can have infinite. Digimon also don't have static evolution lines, in Adventure 2020, Patamon could become Angemon as per usual, or Pegasmon. He was able to flip between the two forms at will, using Angemon for combat and Pegasmon for transportation and faster travel. Similarly, Patamon was able to become Godramon or Seraphimon as it's final evolution.
While you can have six Pokemon on you at once, lore-wise, Digimon draw power from their bond with their Tamer. Having six Digimon would be a detriment, you are better off with one or two super strong ones with versatile evolutions.
Makes sense then that they'd eat at the table with their tamers, especially when they can talk too.

In the case of Chosen Children, they are explicitly paired with one. That kid is a movie oc so they changed it up for personal connection.
Zerimon and Conomon are twin Digimon born from the same digi egg as well, so it's sensible that both would be your partners if you got them from an egg.
I'm gonna download and watch season one of pokemon (sub) today and never bother qith the other ones because i heqrd they are all literally the same thing meant to sell the next game.
What am i in for?
Season one of Pokemon, I think up to Orange Island or Johto, was actually pretty good? Season one at least had effort put into it, everyone remembers "Bye-bye Butterfree".
-t Digimon fan
Playing Devil's advocate here. The first season of Pokemon has actual character development. Yeah, it turns into slop after. Digimon was doing great until Frontier, forget the reason why, something about a company change. Savers was the G-Gundam of Digimon, if you liked it you liked it, if you couldn't get over Marcus punching Digimon you didn't. Then we had Xros Wars and Tri, which we won't get into. Ghost Game was good again but suffered from episodic design and it had a wet fart of an ending.
Pokemon got popular off game constancy and brand loyalty, which basically every Digimon game is different. The hiccups and loss of momentum, complied with the playground tribalism bullshit popularizing the idea that Digimon is a Pokemon knock off is why it didn't reach the same level of popularity.
As a Digimongay, I honestly believe Pokegays are people who never had the chance to experience Digimon at its peak. It seems like their attachment to the Pokemon franchise is purely based on nostalgia. When I look at Pokemon, everything anout it is just feels so lame when compared to Digimon. I can't bring myself to get into any Pokemon game because my first impression of the franchise was terrible thanks to the anime.
I have a similar take but with media in general. Moreso the ones who like it at age 20+ They just never got something that boosted their standards. Pokemon in general is something that is good but rarely great.
I'm a pokegay and that is not the case at all with me. I have seen the first season of both series at the same time. Pokemon felt better because the cast was smaller, making it easy to follow, and the fights felt more personal compare to Digimon since pokemon have the whole rival thing. With Digimon, you had way more to work on cast and partners and that can be hard since some of them will feel underdeveloped. The way I see it, you prefer Digimon because it's a much grander story compare to Pokemon (which at the time wasn't very story based compare to now) and how the kids are more involved compare to Ash who was an idiot trying to get the handle of things, making it feel slow. Can't blame you
>The first season of Pokemon has actual character development
Early pokemon stuff is really interesting. So many plot threads and concepts that all got eradicated once they figured it was simply making too much money to end.
Also just plenty of fun mysteries and rumors. Lawless times.
>forget the reason why
Frontier lacked the partner digimons, the main characters felt underbaked exept Koji & Koichi. villains where unintresting special the royal knights
Digimon had the better anime but the worst marketing
World 1 was a terrible introduction to the franchise
Bandi and Saban seemed hell bent on sabotaging it by making it jump from network to network and not bringing any of hte merch over
Meanwhile Pokemon was precision made as a marketing tool. It never had anyone sabotaging it except maybe Gamefreak themselves.
Honestly the only thing I can remembered from the digimon anime is the finale where all the digimon came to the real world, it was honestly very exciting and stoked my imagination of digimon just fighting eachother in real world location
>and never bother qith the other ones because i heqrd they are all literally the same thing meant to sell the next game
Yeah but seasons past one have actual battles.
Digimon are friends and allies, whilst Pokemon are practically pets. Sure you can have a pikachu rub your cheeks but that's just like my dog asking for affection. Digimon have opinions, you can disagree, you can argue. Digimon are bros.
Nah that's not true for most of htem
The only reason they're bound to Tamers is because they were destined to be partners by fate. Literally, they were made to be allies to humans to save the world.
When you have a digimon who doesn't get treated with the proper respect like an equal would, you get what happens to that fat frick in Survive, don't have the gif on me of it.
1 all games have downsides they're just more ignorable or something
2 Bandai treats them like licensed shovelware like they would most shit and throttles the budget and hires cheap dev teams that work on mobile shit
Bandai is a moronic company who keeps outsourcing these games to literally the lowest common denominator
They are incapable of seeing it as anything other than the most shallow of toy vehicles instead of the potential to be the next Palworld.
I'm hoping getting beaten to the Pokemon-With-Guns title when they were Pokemon-With-Guns 20 years ago would be a wake-up call that the problem is their devs, not anyone else, but I doubt it.
i think it's because they demand devs to only make games in established genres, JRPG, VN, exploration, pet raising, tactics. this prevents them from experimenting with it and finding a genre that fits which would have no downsides instead of trying to constantly hammer the square digipeg into the round tactics/JRPG hole
it also prevents us from getting another world game that plays like world 1
Out of the few things I like about Digimon, the biggest is that, unlike Pokémon, they can talk. It's pretty clear in the Pokémon anime that most, if not all, Pokémon can understand each other and humans and that humans just can't understand Pokémon language. Team Rocket's Meowth shows that Pokémon can learn to talk, but for most it's difficult and takes a long time, so most Pokémon likely don't care and don't feel it's worth it. Meowth even translates what other Pokémon say. I always find it strange when we see Pokémon eating from pet food bowls like this because you just know that the only reason is that they don't talk.
i was watching digimon earlier but something that bugged me was the pacing >one episode is about agumon evolving, the next several episodes is about the other digimon evolving before that formula breaks and we get something different >agumon gets a new evolution again >you can already tell the next several episodes are going to be about the same thing before something different happens

There are a lot of things I wished Pokemon would learn from specifically Adventure.
There are things I wish Digimon would learn from Adventure, and they would just give us that again. Whoever made Adventure seemed to have been experts in a lost art of making something interesting but accessible for a solid year.
That was the first time I remember actively being aware that I was being aroused by something I saw. Like, I had boners before, but most of them were just the natural morning wood or non-responsive kind you just get from regular stimulation with your pants or bloodflow.
And V-Pets are the worst part of Digimon, the attachment to them despite the fact Tamagotchi died in the 90's is legitimately what is holding Digimon back.
I love the design. It's a homage to Super Sentai, which is cool. I just can't get over the fact that it's canonically one of the strongest mon in Digimon universes. bypass all the bullshit lore
It's odd how 2/3 times digimon tries to be like Toku stuff it's hated in general. It seems like such an obviously good combination but it gets fricked up by being associated with something bad.
whats the pokemon dogfood made out of?
Its ridiculous that in the games they tell us the pokemon eat each other but they refuse to show it
That and pokemon being able to understand human language AND each other even if they are a moronic pichu really breaks the setting completely
They should have kept them as pets and not upgrade them as demi humans
>the games they tell us the pokemon eat each
Pokédex Entries are not canon. If you consider Pokédex Entries canon then things stop making sense very easily. >They should have kept them as pets
No. They just need to stop having them eat from pet food bowls. They already aren't exactly the same thing as pets.
Do Digigays really not consider pets to be family and friends? So you only consider Digimon superior because you've never actually owned a pet? That's pretty sad.
Digimon chads realize Digimon are other sapiant creatures capable of table manners
Cats and dogs are members of the family, but they still eat on the floor, because they are mentally incapable of learning table manners. Like Pokemon.
Pals?
slaves but also lovers
So sex slaves?
What's the difference?
already forgotten
Tendie seethe
they're in the kitchen, in the fields or in the refrigerator
Not allowed in the house and they have to finish a double shift on the rifle ammo assembly line before they are allowed to rest
Outside, because the moment they step indoors, they have an existential crisis and pathing gets fricked.
treated better than Pokemon unironically
on the asset store
soldiers
You can do both with pals
in the mines
Eating Pizza and having comfy big beds. So better off then Pokemon unless you are an abusive freak or a butcher.
On the plates, except for the one Katress who is sitting across the table from me as we have our romantic dinner for two.
On my bed, ready for sex
Under the table, sucking you off.
Or *on* the table, for the ones who didn't put enough enthusiasm into it last time.
Pets. Juuuuust like Pokémon.
Being generated by OpenAI
Slaves.
Pokemon can be controlled but ultimately have unwritten rules of what you can and can't do with them. Pals have no such limits, they're property. This means you can treat them as people but also at the same time as objects to be used and recycled.
Cannon fodder.
Pals can be either, or slaves, or ammo, or weapons, or lovers.
In bed
wives
Imagine putting Tsunomon's horn in your ass, ahah
How many times must I see this thread?
until you rename your image to taomon
No Thanks 🙂
I already know this is Taomon, but it's more convenient to include it in the Renamon group of images.
You can put them all in a folder called Renamon, and name the picture taomon, do it now.
I will do what I want to do.
he's male

Hope that OP makes more of these.
digimons can speak human language so they're unconventionally shaped humanoids
pokemons are born to enjoy slavery and communicate by saying their own names for ease of identification
>she! she!
Pokemon can't even pronounce their own names. In the Generations anime (which follows the games timeline and therefore is more canon than the fanfic adventures of selfinsert Ash) pokemon just growl and hiss like wild animals

>Pokemon only do bad things because of their trainers
Pokemon do bad things because of genetic differences in IQ, which affects aggression, impulse control, and deferred gratification.
thats racist
Meowth is basically a digimon, can speak human language so hes just funny shaped people
You know you're right. He really is just a digimon. He even temporarily evolves into something bigger under the right conditions.
Does anything come of this or just monster of the week thing? I know in the one season of the anime Team Rocket finally "wins" but gets BTFO by their own pedobear.

That's a convenient excuse for pokemon.
Shut up, israelite.
>no such thing a bad Pokemon
>game has a literal Evil type
meowth kawaii
Meowth is fricking weird because he's treated as a human by literaly everybody
Maybe people would treat cats like people too, if they'd talk like humans instead of meowing.
Cats need to be breedable soon so we can have catgirls. I wonder if this will be realistically possible in our lifetime
to be fair he is smarter than Jessie

So they are cowards too isnt that great
But they could have their cake and also eat it by showing some flashforward to an old retired Ash

Hired muscle.
Did Digimon trainers have more than 1 Digimon?
80% of the time the Tamer will only have 1 digimon for life+ (when the digimon dies it comes back) but most games you can amass an army of digimon.
Makes sense then that they'd eat at the table with their tamers, especially when they can talk too.
Some Vpet toys let you raise more than one Digimon at the same time btw

yes
even the humanoid ones
Digimon: Wives
more close too, Digimon: Battered housewives
pokemon too tho
What is it about giant titty goth women with bags under their eyes that gets me?
Why can't there be a Digimon game with no downsides?
1 all games have downsides they're just more ignorable or something

Digimon had more interesting games and a better world. They just struggled with pacing and translations.
Demons: Regularly employed coworkers
I'm into Digimon more because I'm an edgy boy
Simple as
holy overdesign
That's X in a nutshell. Only few Digimons improve their looks with it.
i was watching digimon earlier but something that bugged me was the pacing
>one episode is about agumon evolving, the next several episodes is about the other digimon evolving before that formula breaks and we get something different
>agumon gets a new evolution again
>you can already tell the next several episodes are going to be about the same thing before something different happens
it would've had more meaning if they had split when others digimons got to evovle instead of it being fricking back to back to back you didn't see Vegeta go super saiyan one episode after Goku did it, or all of Ash and gang's pokemon evolving one episode after another
They did that because of main character syndrome, they didn't want to think that someone who liked Taichi was getting preference over someone who liked Mimi
How about pokémon learns from this and gives Kaiden some fricking screentime.
There are a lot of things I wished Pokemon would learn from specifically Adventure.
There are things I wish Digimon would learn from Adventure, and they would just give us that again. Whoever made Adventure seemed to have been experts in a lost art of making something interesting but accessible for a solid year.
To be fair, there are 7 (+1) main characters each with 2 (+1) evolution stages. They gotta get through that shit at some point.
You better not drop it before episode 21
Dont worry thats just act 1 it gets better when the group separates
Also watch the movie first ( the jp ova) because its a canon prequel
digimon datasquad was the poggest show
>poggest
Shut the frick up moronic homosexual.
now that I have your attention
it's the only digimon series I watched(loved it btw), but I never hear of it here. how's it comparedto the others?
People generally think it's okay but it didn't achieve "iconic" status like the two people usually talk about (Adventure and Tamers)
I want to marry Mimi
What's up with all the Digimon threads recently? Did some famous Youtuber made an essay about it?
Digicon is soon and us digigays are anxious even though we will get nothing again
This time Bandai will show us love.. it'll be different this time. I'm sure of it..
>not cropping it to say "AMPLE"
Missed opportunity.
We have to pretend that Digimon is still alive since Bandai won't
I think that's why I liked Digimon so much more as a kid. The Pokemon anime was still fun though.
Yes, pokemon are pets. You don't put pets in the table. kids imitate what they watch in tv
Pokeon and humans used to eat on the same table
>diamond and pear library
then we learned better
A shame it changed
My pets are my friends
That shower scene in Digimon was my first boner growing up.

post it then
That was the first time I remember actively being aware that I was being aroused by something I saw. Like, I had boners before, but most of them were just the natural morning wood or non-responsive kind you just get from regular stimulation with your pants or bloodflow.
Yet Digimon revolves around V-Pets. It's kinda funny despite not being a pet sim Pokemon does a better job of presenting them as animals to be raised.
And V-Pets are the worst part of Digimon, the attachment to them despite the fact Tamagotchi died in the 90's is legitimately what is holding Digimon back.
Nah I love vpets shut your mouth
what's the best designed Digimon?
her
Is digimon the only monster IP where the newer designs are better than the old ones?
I don't think they're better, I just think they're still good.
Not sure but this is the worst designed one no contest.
Xros MetalGreymon is more offensive to me personally.
Xros Wars was just so repulsive across the board.

Halal.
whats the pokemon dogfood made out of?
Its ridiculous that in the games they tell us the pokemon eat each other but they refuse to show it
That and pokemon being able to understand human language AND each other even if they are a moronic pichu really breaks the setting completely
They should have kept them as pets and not upgrade them as demi humans
>the games they tell us the pokemon eat each
Pokédex Entries are not canon. If you consider Pokédex Entries canon then things stop making sense very easily.
>They should have kept them as pets
No. They just need to stop having them eat from pet food bowls. They already aren't exactly the same thing as pets.
So the setting makes even less sense and its impossible to take seriously because its for moronic children, ok that makes me feel so much better.
>Humans and Pokemon used to be able to marry
>they stopped when they realized it was literal zoophilia
Okay, what would you do Ganker?
Do Digigays really not consider pets to be family and friends? So you only consider Digimon superior because you've never actually owned a pet? That's pretty sad.
Digimon chads realize Digimon are other sapiant creatures capable of table manners
Cats and dogs are members of the family, but they still eat on the floor, because they are mentally incapable of learning table manners. Like Pokemon.
>Cats and dogs are members of the family,
Yet your meme distinguishes between friends and pets and looks down on Pokemon for being pets.
Bro, wtf. Those animals spend their time in the ground. They shouldn't be on a table.
