The giant memories were so fricking cool, one of the best parts of DS2. All of Fromsoft's worlds are dark and fricked up and plagued with war, but that was the only one that really delved into it that directly.
its always cool to hear about "dude this war was crazy...." but goddammit i just want to be there instead of the aftermath every single time
Imagine a prequel series where you get to play as a character taking part in the big wars of all the games. Instead of hard classes you get roles, like in DS1 maybe you could play as an undead serving under Nito, in DS2 you could be a mook in the giant wars, etc etc. Frick now I'm mad because we'll never get anything like that
being able to see areas before they were fricked and slowly being destroyed as the game goes on would be awesome, like being able to witness the flood in new londo. i also think the concept of being a nobody soldier would work great in elden ring too, just raiding other castles and shit, full on sieges.

My homie. New Londo is one of my favorite areas in the franchise despite how fricking annoying it can be and I've always wanted to see how it was before the flood. I have a thing for seeing old, fallen fantasy cities and imagining what they were like before.

this is exactly why these games pulled so many people in, the worldbuilding is fantastic and the story is given in a way that lets you learn about stuff while keeping the mystery of other shit.
