I pirated this game and it was easily best zombie slasher. Killing zombies is very satisfying from start to finish. My only grip with this game is that elemental mods for your weapons convert weapon damage into said element which look silly at a times. >have huge piece of boulder on a stick >attach small lighter on top >now you deal 0 damage to firefighters because they are immune to fire
It's just break immersion when you hit them with huge rock and they don't even flinch, but you have 4 slots for active weapons plus backpack for spare weapons so it's fine in the end.

The game itself was alright but it really wasn't worth the +12 years of dead air. The players who enjoyed the OG way when it was released they will feel slightly disappointed. For one: it is not an open world, instead they did similar system to MGS Ground Zero, you choose from multiple small districts to explore instead of roaming the entire city freely. I understand making such thing is almost impossible but come the frick on. I say wait for sales if you're interested.
They tied up a loose end from the first game...... or rather one out of 5, and there is a missable dialogue telling us what happened after Riptide with that ending but unfortunately they never gave it any closure.
I agree. Was replaying 1 before I got 2 and was annoyed at how much running around I'd have to do for quest. Then the vehicles can only go on basic paths or you risk it getting stuck

Still a damn shame that they gutted the analogue fighting system for this game. With how detailed their gore and animations systems are now it could've been the peak.

The plot is stupid, there's not resolution to the story, fighting zombies get pretty boring and that's 90% of what you're doing, you're drowning in weapons and keep leveling up making better weapons appear, yet you only really need 3-4 weapons, the choices for protagonists seem not to matter, the skill cards are given to you far too slowly...

DL2 was one of my biggest disappointments, it wasnt bad, but it was a clear downgrade from previous game i combat and physics, and the story was too cartoony to carry it.
I agree but this is a nice thing to get for free and Dying Light still costs money. Like You could get both of the first Dead Island definitive edition and Riptide and only spend $3 right now.
