Bola gun's overpowered, make sure you do optional side quest deliveries to unlock some really cool utility and traversal shit like hacking tools and the cargo cannon
I’m playing through for the first time currently. It can be pretty tedious and a lot of the mechanics seem just pointless, especially the 10,000 cut scenes and BT areas. Overall it feels kind of ‘thin’. Like after 15 hours of playing I just kind of get the gist and don’t really see the point of continuing on.

You're in for one of the best, comfiest games of the decade. Pure ludo-kino Zen.
The game frontloads its difficulty by making the first 3 chapters absolute ASS to traverse eso cause youre just starting out and learning.
Once the tech tree expands. Game becomes comfy as frick.
It's a "strandlike" (ie walking sim) game where you carry boxes 200 feet by pressing w then watch a 60 minute cutscene where you meet a guy who acts like you just walked 200 miles

If you're a moron it might entertain you. If you have above 30 IQ the illusion of depth will not hold up and you'll realize how devoid of actual gameplay the game is. It's literally just a game of holding down W and pressing a QTE button when it pops up. Story might seem interesting at first but rest assured kojima completely ruins all of his hooks by the end.

DS is extremely fun and addicting.
I played it roughly 12 hours a day during my first run. Ended up finishing it at around 160h mark, and didn't even "Platinum" it yet.

Instead of focusing on a smaller part of the US or dividing it into smaller individual maps, kojiimbo took the open world pill again and made America east coast to west coast smaller than the size of oblivion which was a 360 game.
I'm just saying that to illustrate how goofy the game is to the point of being 4th wall breaking, feels like he put more real effort into the trailers and marketing hype and the game was an afterthought. MGSTPP is superior in every way.
