sometimes i'm playing as a gunner or as a scout and the ammo ends very quick, and to progress without needing to call another resupply for some time, i will get two ammo racks if the team doesn't pick the others up for some time and abandons it.

Only time I make curves or take weird routes is if I absolutely have to, like when there’s a huge gap between the refinery and the pump or the pipe start is on the complete other side of the refinery from the pump.

Haz 4 seems like the intended way to play once you know what you're doing. Haz 5 just didn't seem very fun to me, everyone is much more hostile and the game revolves around ammo management rather than being a ragtag group of dwarves having a good old time in some tunnels, who need to stick together. I did an elite deep dive and I was made to autistically carve out and put platforms in certain places to do strategies and it sucked. I do wish haz 4 was somehow a smidgen tougher though.

Of course that also depends on your teammates but with skilled players nitra is just not an issue.
I play as an engineer with the shotgun, grenade launcher and double turrets, with I think the larger ammo reserve skills for them. I'm referring mostly to deep dives here I guess. I did notice the more experienced player didn't have nearly as many ammo issues but he was a scout so I guess he just didn't shoot as much.

several supply pods wouldn't matter. Double dipping announcement could be tracked via each individual pod. If you order 4 pods and take 1 from each pod, no announcement. But yeah, multiple pods could get confusing. Still though, the announcement would be superior to 0 tracking at all, like we currently have. Greenbeards rushing the button are, imo, the biggest issue with playing with randoms, bar none. The current situation is not ideal, there absolutely is a way to handle it but saying the way it currently works is without issues is moronic. Maybe have an emergency override if all other players are dead, that way the only remaining person can still call it. Bottom line, leaving that button available for the 8 year old redditor who just downloaded the game isn't the best course of action and actively discourages opening rooms up to randoms below a certain rank.

Scout is fine, your teammates are being c**ts for not using text or voice or the laser pointer. Scout can be good for combat but the most vital functions you serve are to reach minerals and other collectibles like booloo caps, aquarks, etc that your team either can't reach or won't reach as quickly because they all move slower than you. Secondarily but still importantly your flares are needed to illuminate large caves, which make it easier for your team to see minerals, bugs, objectives, etc. Learn the timing of your zipline, get the fast recharge ASAP, don't forget that if you're falling you can actually fire the zipline into the ground bellow you to negate the potential damage.

M1000 can shoot hordes just fine.
I consider special powder mandatory because it's the only fall damage mitigation that's as spammable as the grappling hook. If I have multiple high-up things to grab quickly I can do them in succession instead of waiting for hover boot cooldown. The grappling hook doesn't always cool down in time for you to use it for preventing fall damage.
Hoverclock is even more spammable because it doesn't consume ammo if you don't want to.
Hoverclock does this even better than Special Powder.
To be fair, there are some things SP do that HC doesn't, but it's rare you need or even can use that much vertical acceleration.

I had a dozer mission bug out once and the O2 tanks on Doretta weren't providing oxygen at all. Not while moving, not while stopped, not with my face crammed against the fricking nozzle. Shit was miserable.
That was a feature. Management believes in you, only green beards need ""oxygen""
Detection is kinda buggy with O2. You have to leave ALL oxygen zones and then re-enter.
It's a toggle, so it can untoggle oxygen supplying if you leave zone of one O2 tank even if you were in range of multiple tanks. That's probably optimization thing so it wouldn't constantly do code checks.
might have been initial the cause but it stayed that way throughout the entire mission. I was regularly in and out of range of all O2 sources throughout the mission and Molly and supply pods rarely overlapped with each other or Doretta. I've had O2 dozer missions before and never had issues getting O2 from it before. I finished it and may never see it happen again, but it was not fun.

I just start shooting whoever does this, usually gets them to step in real fast because they think they're getting hit by a bug from outside/start panicking (obviously look at their hp first, they can't step in if you down them)
You don't need them to step in if you down them.
Everyone gets less rewards if I do that so I make them panic first, sometimes someone is just tunnel visioning on finishing the kill on that one praetorian outside before ending and that's fine so I wait like 5-10 seconds before I try to make them panic and step in
If they still don't step in it's obviously on purpose, in that case I start shooting again and the only way I stop is if the mission ends
They're just buttholes. You can't really force anyone to walk into the escape zone, and they gain 99% damage reduction in that little area inbetween.
Best you can do is just shoot him directly to at least annoy him, I just alt tab and watch israelitetube.

No, it's an explanation I came up in 5 seconds. The pod leaves because it's a game, drg is extremely mercantile and it's cool. But it's trivially easy to find "in universe" explanations if it does bother your autism.

It creates the gameplay in the first place. The in-universe reason isn't given nor does it really matter. That doesn't mean it doesn't or will not exist, because such details are left purposefully vague and can be filled out if they ever become relevant.
DRG is a mining corporation and as such, it behaves like a corporation. It doesn't want to take risks and cuts costs at every opportunity. The reason the drop pod leaves after a certain amount of time is because they want the resources more than they want the employee. Molly is on board and they want what's packed into her. It's not worth the risk to leave those resources sitting there for that long while the glyphid's attention is drawn to it. They're only willing to wait so long because of the risk of not getting those resources and their equipment back.
Yes. Pretty much all hard time limits in real corporate settings are made up or based on other made up time limits. You must finish this task by noon because boss wants to review it before his plane leaves at 3PM. Plane leaves at 3PM because that was decided weeks ago by the airline. And so on.

If scouts did their jobs there would always be enough nitra for an extra pod or three.
If you didn't kick good scouts all the time because they don't use their entire flare gun worth of ammo in your specific corner to light up your one ebonut you pinged while they were gathering on the other side of the cave you'd get scouts that do their job
Is the drop chance for plague hearts for each meteorite individually?
Every time I get the small meteorites I find 1 heart at most, often nothing. It's annoying as hell.
I think it only gives one heart for each set of small metors.

Yeah, one is guaranteed, sometimes it's two. Largest number of hearts I've ever gotten during a single mission was 9 (two large meteors and a shower).
There's one guaranteed per fragment shower, with a 2% chance of another in each extra meteor
So I'm probably missing the one meteor containing a heart. I just wish I found more of the big ones instead of the small fragments.

Just use your tools, driller is extremely versatile. C4 terrain and bugs, same for epc. Shoot the bugs and the ground with your primary.

Most people use the tfc for mining and bursts of damage. Splash mod is bad. Firemod is interesting in some combos, but imo it hits terrain too easily as you stated. Learning the timing for tfc is one of the hardest singular skills you can learn in the game, so don't judge yourself too harshly if you waste lots of ammo at first. It's often easier to aim at the side of your intended target than directly at it, as the timing window is larger.

Fun to do burst damage at close range, but the spread is too much at larger distances and the repetitive clicking gets tiring. The damage bonus isn't that great, either.

It's a Warthog for a Gunner and you will be playing it as if it is one. Build it for weakspot damage, get behind oppressors and such and start blasting.
Definitely want a long range side arm, a burst gun maybe, to deal with stuff like menaces.

It's legitimately the best PvE game on the market with zero modern nonsense except a few weapon unlocks you can afford within 2 hours of game play. The game is as hard or easy as your own skill makes it. If you're good at stuff like boomer shooters you can beat Hazard 5 (highest difficulty) with guns that have no upgrades. If you suck, there's lots of low skill losers in the lower hazards that will welcome you without seething about failed missions.
Just buy it.

whats the best scout throwing weapon in your opinion? i like the cryo grenade but tend to pick IFG because i dont want to frick up/work against anyone using flame weapons
I like the boomerang as the generalist option. Not the best option in many situations, but there are few where it doesn't work at all unlike pretty much every other scout throwable.
i just realized i never tried it yet - forgot they added that since i stopped playing since i never see anyone use it. will give it a try tomorrow
The boomerang is great.
IFG's are my favorite. Boomerang doesn't scale as well at higher difficulties.

The boltshark is so fricking good. It gives the scout so much more crowd control and utility wich suits the class. After i got this baby i never used the other secondaries again. Absolutely solid weapon.
how do i use it to crowd control effectively? only overclock i have so far is triple bolt, which is really good for one shotting certain enemies
phero and couple of firebolts is the most cost effective combo. You can also use ice instead and finish the bugs with your primary.
Shoot a pheromone bolt at a large bug during a swarm. Then you mop up the cluster of bugs with your primary weapon/fire bolts.
It takes an eternity to trigger. If your teammates are paying attention they will kill the bugs long before fire does any meaningful damage. There is a case to be made for cryo bolts but cryo always has the problem of fricking over your team using fire builds.
Legit can't decide which OC to use with it
Cryo is amazing against breeders and those big spitters, and decent against swarmers, but pretty useless otherwise unless you're somehow alone against a praetorian (otherwise your team will kill it before it gets frozen)
Fire is impossible to use in multiplayer
Bodkin is ok I guess but all 3 primaries are better against swarms unless you somehow back yourself into a corner as scout
Trifork volley is never actually needed, inferior to embedded detonators, and chews through ammo faster
I keep switching between cryo and bodkin, never really being satisfied
I also keep hesitating between electric bolts and pheromones because they're both so good
I run pheromones and cryo and i can handle pretty much everything. If your team uses alot of fire use your cryo bolts on shit like spitballers and wardens that are out of their reach. Those freeze up fast as frick and you can easily dispatch them with little ammo usage on your primary.
Was using cryo and electric bolts then swapped to bodkin and pheromones, I'll try cryo and pheromones

I don't like IFG because it doesn't help me revive people, cryo and boomerang are both amazing at that and they're also amazing at dealing with mactera (cryo less now sadly) and swarmers
IFG is only really good in solo where you fully control where glyphids are going to path and use fire bolts/blowthrough rounds/bullets of mercy imo, and it's completely useless against the biggest threat in the game: tri-jaws
tazer bolts and trifork go super well together for eliminations
2 bolts basically immobilise the dread, they also enable the tier5 bonus agaisnt electrified enemies
add trifork and you're dealing huge damage
add an IFG for even bigger damage
bring GK2 with BoM to swap after your trifork shot and do some more big damage
Even in an haz5 4player lobby you can almost solo a dread cycle by yourself with this setup

I usually do but I wanted to try my new Hurricane overclock (salvo module)
I'm pretty disappointed by it, as usual with the hurricane
The only good overclock I've found for the hurricane was the one that plants mines, pretty nutty for both killing bugs and your fellow dwarfs.
Salvo module burns through ammo too fast. If one salvo counted as one ammo like with a shotgun it would be good.
I like the clean overclock that increases RoF and projectile speed
Turns out the hurricane is good and versatile if you just don't change what it's already doing and merely make it better
Being burning hell's cousin is the only thing about hurricane that raises my dopamine.
I always dig to the drop pod when i'm on drill duty.

why can't I mine gold for the team?
Shitters have convinced themselves that by not mining gold they could theoretically run missions, which would be more efficient in the long run. This of course ignores the fact that all missions have downtime, so if you have nothing better to do while waiting something, you can usually mine some gold at least. + it's a mining game about dwarves, of course you should mine gold.
Don't hold up the team to mine gold. If you're scout or running dash, you should absolutely get gold while you wait for your team to catch up or while your team goes ahead.

Yeah, and bertha already has the "Autocannon but single target" niche covered. There are already too many OCs that do the same thing with maybe one of the being slightly different. Chaingun has three straight damage OCs, one is a bit different, PGL has three ammo OCs, one is a bit different.
PGL has some of the best build variety in the game dude, hyperpropellant vs nuke vs incendiary rj250 vs default all feel good and different
