I like how the only selling point is just: what if we made a fun game. no content locked behind dlc, not forced to be connected online, no grinding outside of playing normal missions.

and its made it the best game released in the last 10 years simply out of being a fun game with no israelite shit
AAAdevs fricking hate Ghost Ship for dunking on them.
The latest update adding rocket boots proved that to me
Is it good for balance? No
Is it good for variety? No
Is it fun as all hell? Yes
But they added it, and it made the game feel a lot more fluid to play
The cooldown and the lack of maneuverability helps to make sure it doesn't replace the scout, which is what I was concerned about.
>Is it good for balance? No
>Is it good for variety? No
>Is it fun as all hell? Yes
wish they had this mindset more often, so many OCs are shit because they're made them """"balanced"""" instead of fun, stuff that should radically change how the weapon works just ends up being not worth in the slightest
>Is it good for balance? No
honestly the rocket boots aren't even unbalanced
i thought they would just flat out replace scout but they overheat super quick and serve more as full cushioning than rapid movement
it forces me to play with random morons so I'll never play it, since it's not balanced for solo and doing anything will take 5 million years longer
Bosco is more competent than 99% of the playerbase, sounds like you're in the 99% if you can't solo missions on H5
I think he's more complaining that things take longer solo.
Which isn't really my experience. Usually I'm the only one refueling Doretta, or laying out refinery pipes, or getting Aquarqs, or setting up tether nodes... List goes on. For as "nice" as the community and players of DRG are, they're also phenomenally lazy. That or just stupid. I try to tell people what to do if I think they're really just unaware, but they usually just ignore me.
Exactly, you can platform every wall minneral and ping them for years without the rando scout doing shit, or you can tell Bosco to mine it instantly. Bosco is reliable and tenfold faster than braindead randos for every situation the game throws at you.
Have you considered having friends?
rock and stone homosexuals bosco is all you need
It WAS fun
Now it's just too easy and it's hard to balance a harder difficulty via mods. And even then it's hard to get a modded lobby going. They need to just add a hazard 6/7
Maybe a super elite deep dive with special cosmetics.
I don't want this to end up like payday 2 though, in pd2 they just added op guns and then increased the spawn cap in the map from 40 cops to 100 cops, it's unplayable unless you use an LMG and spend the entire match hearing your gun
I love the game, but man, I can't keep playing forever. I still come back for the start of the season and special events.
What's your scout loadout and how effective is it in general?
Its boring to with play randos.
I enjoy it. Even if i have to carry most of them.
I used to enjoy it but after 300 hours but I got burned out.
>after 300 hours but I got burned out.
Lightweight as frick.
True but going with randoms gets tiresome.
you are kind of dumb lol
imagine bragging about hours when the other person says it got boring to them
people like different things. There's nothing wrong with liking a game so much that you'd sink hundreds or thousands of hours into it, and there's nothing wrong with not liking it.
I was disappointed with deep dives and elite deep dives when I first reached them. The game initially seemed to suggest they're the endgame content for players who want a challenge but they're pretty boring, they lack all the fun side missions you can encounter in normal missions, and they have no actual new content apart from that drop pod animation of drilling through the soil. They're much more of a "do you need extra cores?" thing than an endgame.
Yup. I was hoping for 8-man raids against lethal elite enemies or something. Even EDDs at this point are kinda boring.
Swarm Control mod is there, you can have nightmare difficulty runs easily.
Anyone else been sent to the void?
help
occurred to one rando in my lobby.
I had a drop pod drop in a wall before a good distance away from us and we had no driller. By the time we finally tunneled to it it left right infront of us and we failed the mission.
I hate that zoomers have 100% normalized cosmetic content being DLC locked, to the point that they don't even bat an eye and don't view it as a real part of the game
it's a good game made by good people but i just don't enjoy it. shame.
I did both sets of S4 missions and didn't run into a single rocket boot crate. What the frick bros?
They seem pretty rare/easy to miss. I think I've seen two so far and only one wandering plagueheart (which ended with the game crashing).
Rocket boots are the worst idea, we already have terrain transversal tools.
RIP Zipline
for some reason this game never really "stuck" to me. I feel like the gameplay loop is just too repetitive for me or something I guess. Got bored after like ten hours. It seems like after you've played this game for about that time you've seen pretty much everything there is to see. I'm happy for coop chads though, there is a drought of good coop games these days
It only ends if you have every OC and played every class to gold
>I feel like the gameplay loop is just too repetitive for me
Compared to what exactly?
I see posts like this from time to time, but I really struggle to think what other MP game would have the variety, verticality and unpredictability of the DRG.
>bored after 10 hours
homie you've not gotten even a single Promotion at that point, thus missing out like half of the game, and you most definitely have not tried out all the classes and what they got to offer at that point.
Compared to TF2 or Garry's Mod for example. There is just near unlimited variety in those games. So many modded gamemodes and servers and all that jazz. DRG kind of became formulaic to me is all. I did have my share of fun with the game but I guess I just didn't enjoy it as much as many others. I tried all the classes but of course I didn't unlock every tool and weapon and skin and whatever.
>Compared to TF2 or Garry's Mod for example. There is just near unlimited variety in those games.
No there isn't.
TF2 is just class-based PVP games where you play the same maps and do exactly the same shit over and over again: kill other players.
GM is just a virtual toy box. Not a game.
>DRG kind of became formulaic to me
says a literal TF player.
not everybody likes the same things anon. You don't have to like TF2 and Gmod but you're deluding yourself if you think these games don't have a fricking huge amount of modded content. It's a shame they are past their golden age though, I played for thousands of hours in many servers in the hayday.
>You don't have to like TF2 and Gmod but you're deluding yourself if you think these games don't have a fricking huge amount of modded content.
Mods are not "content". They are mods.
The fact that you even bring up them proves that you don't give rats ass about the games' actual core gameplay AND content.
I put 300 hours to TF2 back in 2007-2008. I dropped it after the fricking Hat fiasco started, and now it's literally a proto Fortnite with no balancing nor direction whatsoever.
So once again: congraz for coming out as an Source-mod addict that can't sit through a literal tutorial phase of a new game, and spews bullshit about its formula.
>you didn't akshually play "the game" when you joined a VS Hale, dodgeball, prophunt, zombiemode, deathrun, smash bros, base build, Roleplay etc. etc. etc. server
Way to out yourself as a moron who never played the game. The Source engine's moddability and the ability to host your own servers was practically the lifeblood of TF2. Hell, Gmod is a game that takes the Source engine's core features and just gives the player the tools to do whatever he wants. The fact that you confined yourself into playing the game in the "muh REAL way to play the game" only demonstrates your inherent unwillingness to have fun and is no argument against the multitude of ways to play the game; only your own incapability of doing so actually.
Man that webm is a clusterfrick
Love how the Devs introduce new bugs with every update
This time I just keep teleporting
i love rocket barrage so much its unreal
DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA
The online advertising kills the atmosphere. I uninstalled months ago.
The season pass setup and the mtx store were shameful.
There is a mtx store?
Yeah you could buy skins outright. I didn't expect anything else from a games as a service seasonal thing but it was still disgusting to see after all the fake advertising online said none of that was in the game.
Cosmetic DLC is to support devs, since they offer game updates for free.
I don't want to support the devs. No one should feel compelled to.
Games updating for free is the norm.
>I don't want to support the devs
Bad news, you already did when you bought the game
I didn't buy the game.
>season pass
Is free, only contains cosmetics, gold; and minerals, and folds every item into the loot pool at the end of each season
>microtransactions
There's like a few skins you can buy with real money, that's it
I don't care. The marketers told me the game didn't have any of it. The amount of shilling for the game on Ganker is surreal. They will lie right to your face about the game. It's just marketing.
Keep crying, leaf lover
Solo DRG is perfect for listening to audiobooks, you can just relax and explore caves, build some pipes and shit.
>flings you into the air
Ran out of content quick. You can only do the same missions over and over so many times before you want to throw yourself out the airlock.
>no grinding
ahahhahahahhah
Game is currently on sale. Be honest, should I buy it? Also which class should I start with?
coming from somebody who didn't end up being a huge fan of the game, you should absolutely at least give it a proper chance. It's pretty much a nobrainer when it's on sale.
I did it bros. Starting with gunner btw.
>Be honest, should I buy it?
Hell, yeah. There is no better coop shhooter.
>Also which class should I start with?
Play all of them. Avoid gunner until you understand the game better.
I literally have never seen someone, even here, say they didn't enjoy the game
Some people get tired of it after a time, but never hate it
So hell yeah, go for it
I have literally complained in the past that I didn't like this. But it got more fun after I learned to speedrun all the objectives and play solo. The game can be really slow and tedious when you start. It's not like you're going to die. It's just fricking boring. I remember having over hour long morkite mining mission and I was like what the frick I can't find it but I can't just quit or I lose all my time. I also found the squeaky dwarves annoying to listen to. They're men right but sometimes they sound like morning cartoon characters.
No one on Ganker got the game because it's a seasonal thing.
What you see are the marketers repeatedly trying to save the thread with innocuous posts.
Notice how it goes in bursts then dies again. It always follows that pattern when anons shit on them.
Just let it die.
I cheated and unlocked everything, still have like 1k cores and nothing to do, its not worth 10$ just play warframe or something
>have everything
>therefore have access to all the stranger weapon upgrades and OCs
if you fail to have fun at this point it’s burnout or shitty teammates, not because the table isn’t set. And why would you ever voluntarily point someone at Warframe?
Only reason Warframe is better because you CAN'T cheat your rat food?
sorry reddit, the game was fun only for the first 20h. Everything feel repetitive afterward.
