Dig is equal to Earthquake in power and produces the same result whether you're faster or slower. It just takes an additional turn. It's a phenomenal move in Gen 1, especially since you get it so early.
Earthquake is basically a second copy.
As a kid it always felt like that! It was like my Pokemon was dodging enemy attacks. In reality though if you're slower you still get hit once. And if you're faster you don't get hit either way (if you OHKO anyway).
Of course in later games you can use stuff like that (I liked using Quick Claw with Sandslash, you can sometimes go first on the first turn and last on the second turn, thereby dodging two attacks)
I've noticed that if you use Agility/Dragon Dance/A different Speedboost move against an enemy in the Battle Frontier that also knows Agility/etc, they will almost always use their own speedboost move the next turn
So if you Dragon Dance and Fly the next move, the CPU will use their own Speed move when you Fly, especially if it's Agility which is two boosts, and thus being faster than you the turn you use Fly/etc, thus they miss TWO rounds in a row
It gets dig, earthquake, swords dance and rock slide by TM and its stats are all better or equal than Marowak's. In exchange, its level up movepool is trash, even compared to Marowak's.
>You can buy the most important TMs anyway
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only places to buy TMs in gen 1 are the game corner and department store in Celadon, right? Combined they sell Dragon Rage, Hyper Beam, Substitute in GC and Double Team, Razor Wind, Egg Bomb, Mega Kick, Submission, Reflect, Horn Drill, Mega Punch, Take Down, Ice Beam, Rock Slide, Tri Attack in DS. I'd hardly call that being able to buy most of the useful ones.
Yes? You have limited bag space to begin with, so unless you want them to rot in your PC, just use them immediately. You can get good use out of almost every TM as soon as you get it, so why not? If you have no need of one, then sell it.
Yeah Pokemon was better when not every month got high power STAB options and also the physical/special split was when Pokemon started wanting to be taken seriously and lost it's way. Sorry zoomers, it's objectively unironically true.
You get the Dig TM in the same area
Dig sucks and it's 1 use

I sometimes think as two turn moves, like fly and dig, as "free protects"
Especially when you pair them with leftovers, or even speed boost

>NOOO CURSE YOU GAMEFREAK

Crazy that it took until BW2 for them to fix sandslash's level up learnset
>dude just waste your single use TMs
They are meant to be used
Just put a bit of thought into it and use it on the pokemon you like
You can buy the most important TMs anyway
>They are meant to be used
After I have Missingno clone them.

Hyperbeam is the important TMs
moron, what else are you going to use the TMs on in gen 1 if not a mon that you would want to use.

No sane person would.

You are explicitly supposed to use TM's
Back when the games were meant to have some challenge for the child audience.
>Slash at 17
kinda OP
>Slash on a slow pokemon
*blocks ur path*
West Kanto syndrome, it was intentionally designed to be bad so it wouldn't overshadow the KANTOOOOOOOOO ground types.
