Western Games are usually over-produced garbage designed by committee and with an inflated budget, they're the opposite of jank. Eastern European and low/mid budget Japanese games are jank.

One example of this for me is Outward, game sucks and has a lot of flaws but frick I love it.
Jank is when I want to criticize a game, but don't have anything meaningful to say.
Jank is rarely ever used as criticism, it's just an observation. Most people will admit to like janky games.
