Elden Ring is just DLC for Dark Souls 3 by this logic. It changed virtually nothing except added a ton of overworld padding. The game mechanics ToTK introduced to BoTW radically change the game.

That is a lie. They already started on an entirely new Zelda game in parallel probably a few years ago and they delayed ToTK for strategic purposes.
They can't afford to not have a mainline Zelda game on Switch 2 within the first 3 years of its life cycle. ToTK was always meant to be a stopgap lower effort game.
