Well she calls herself a demon and appears in the end of genocide, personally I don't think Chara will appear as I don't think To y would want to imply any ending of Undertale to be the canon one.

I saw that newscast, and I am hesitant to believe it. It took 2 years for them to allegedly complete chapter 3 and they are just now starting chapter 4. It's a huge leap of faith to believe they can complete it in one year.
Chapter 3 took longer because it was an unusal chapter with a lot of moving parts (a ton of minigames probably). 4 is confirmed to be a much more standard chapter, so I doubt it will take as long.
This, and the fact they already got work done on 4 because they were originally working on both at the same time until focusing on 3 to finish it. Saying they're "just starting" 4 is inaccurate.

I blame the dual development, and the side projects personally. Dual development almost always ends up a waste from what I've seen and Toby is likely personally reviewing literally everything to make sure it fits, which would than be exacerbated by the side projects.

Now that it's down to just 3 and 4, I think this might be the year. If it was still 3-5 I would have said 2025 at the earliest though, and maybe even 2026.
At the very least, no matter how long it takes as long as Toby isn't killed or otherwise put into a position where he's physically and mentally unable to continue developing Deltarune, it's not a wait as bad as Silksong's.

I meant Huecycles's Dess on the bottom row, the one which is supposed to but the in universe modern day one, where as the top row took place when the cast were younger.
The marks and expression make her look haunted and depressed, like she's gone days without sleep, and the dull colors and expression add to this. She looks like she's spent at least half a decade trapped in some other space unable to have regular contact with normal people.
Which is just my prefered flavor of Dess, also I don't mind the hair color.

Like the weirdest I got is that I know for sure you get the one true ending by following three different paths in each save file and then intentionally triggering the roaring to split the world apart so that the red soul can sacrifice itself to put the world back together with the best parts of each save file while discarding the consequences.

Presumably they'll be properly introduced in the next chapter release, but in the files there are 0-to-10 types, with 0 being true damaged and currently used by overworld bullets, 6 being Puppet/Cat, and Element 9 resisting 2 and 10.
Kinda weird that Gaster, mister 666 is associated with Puppet/Cat, but it makes more sense as you think about it, puppets as in control, cats as in shrodinger's cat... etc

Ralsei was in some way given a "revelation" by Gaster. That is why he knows the prophecy (which was first recited in Wingdings in the Deltarune website before it actually got announced), that is why he's the only one to mention saving the game, and to be able to divert the player's attention away from Kris. This is also why he seems intent on railroading the game, as if he's reading off a script, and gets flustered when things don't go to plan, such as Snowgrave.
Before finishing Chapter 1, the save select screen is managed by Gaster and his clinical, slightly inquisitive voice. After finishing Chapter 1, the voice becomes more friendly and innocent, reminiscent of Ralsei. I believe he is given charge over the save file management at this point.
Castle Town is given (You)r name, which you only ever gave to Gaster at the start of the game. Who else would have both the authority to name the town, and the kiss-ass personality to name it after (You), other than Ralsei?

That's something I was worried about. Why make Undertale feel like it's got a way smaller world? So many years of development here and yet it feels less organic than what mostly one man could do in likely less time.
So for the first thing yes, the ruins was mainly given a graphical facelift since the demo but Dalv was never improved, but the bosses get much more fun when the game spikes in difficulty around the middle of it
For the second the game does have a similar length to Undertale, just that instead of Sans and Papyrus having tons of relevance and dialogue its a couple waifu characters, the story is more serious for better or worse
Deltatraveler's first chapter was perfect, but then they had to ruin it by exploring the red world AU unironically. So many missed opportunities by having that game's Flowey contrast with what you meet in the ruins.

The most fricked up thing is that Undertales genocide route just feels blatantly unfinished, but I don't get that feeling from UTYs genocide at all, it feels finished for better or worse.

Compare it to the version from 2022 Status update. It has some minor differences. Less compressed, higher quality. This older version was used on this page until recently apparently.
If you're willing to bear it, Kris does not talk for most of Deltatraveler, really only beginning in Section 3. The lore around Kris as his own character is probably gonna be messy and not at all what most people would likely care to see, definitely not the way it'll go in deltarune, or has gone.
It will be so funny when Chapter 3 comes out and Ralsei is not shocked or confused that Kris opened a fountain but rather treats it as if they had planned it.

Possibly. Egg/knight reference aside, I think the practical reason is that it keeps you from accidentally walking out, because you can't re-enter once you've left. But he could have made it so you can't leave until you walk a certain distance from the exit first or until you take the egg.
The direction change is likely just a game design consideration so you don't walk out of the room accidentally as soon as you get in.

It has to release in 2024. My interest in the game has already diminished, but if it takes until 2025 for just 1 chapter that Toby himself admitted is shorter than chapter 2 I won't even bother playing it let alone buy it.

I saw that newscast, and I am hesitant to believe it. It took 2 years for them to allegedly complete chapter 3 and they are just now starting chapter 4. It's a huge leap of faith to believe they can complete it in one year.
They were working on both at the sametime, they just completed chapter 3 first and now the entire team is working on chapter 4.
Chapter 3 took longer because it was an unusal chapter with a lot of moving parts (a ton of minigames probably). 4 is confirmed to be a much more standard chapter, so I doubt it will take as long.
This, and the fact they already got work done on 4 because they were originally working on both at the same time until focusing on 3 to finish it. Saying they're "just starting" 4 is inaccurate.
I blame the dual development, and the side projects personally. Dual development almost always ends up a waste from what I've seen and Toby is likely personally reviewing literally everything to make sure it fits, which would than be exacerbated by the side projects.
That's why it's a good thing that only 4 is left now because 5 isn't a part of the bundle anymore. I just hope he doesn't try to go back to that format for the last few chapters...
He really should pace things to one chapter at a time if he's going to keep himself busy with more nonstop collabs and appearances at JP events, which he obviously will.
Now that it's down to just 3 and 4, I think this might be the year. If it was still 3-5 I would have said 2025 at the earliest though, and maybe even 2026.

Ralsei was in some way given a "revelation" by Gaster. That is why he knows the prophecy (which was first recited in Wingdings in the Deltarune website before it actually got announced), that is why he's the only one to mention saving the game, and to be able to divert the player's attention away from Kris. This is also why he seems intent on railroading the game, as if he's reading off a script, and gets flustered when things don't go to plan, such as Snowgrave.
Before finishing Chapter 1, the save select screen is managed by Gaster and his clinical, slightly inquisitive voice. After finishing Chapter 1, the voice becomes more friendly and innocent, reminiscent of Ralsei. I believe he is given charge over the save file management at this point.
Castle Town is given (You)r name, which you only ever gave to Gaster at the start of the game. Who else would have both the authority to name the town, and the kiss-ass personality to name it after (You), other than Ralsei?

That's something I was worried about. Why make Undertale feel like it's got a way smaller world? So many years of development here and yet it feels less organic than what mostly one man could do in likely less time.
So for the first thing yes, the ruins was mainly given a graphical facelift since the demo but Dalv was never improved, but the bosses get much more fun when the game spikes in difficulty around the middle of it
For the second the game does have a similar length to Undertale, just that instead of Sans and Papyrus having tons of relevance and dialogue its a couple waifu characters, the story is more serious for better or worse
Deltatraveler's first chapter was perfect, but then they had to ruin it by exploring the red world AU unironically. So many missed opportunities by having that game's Flowey contrast with what you meet in the ruins.
