your green arrow text is literally how any and all forums go. It's irritating to go to a dedicated forum to air grievances and to have a bunch of knuckle dragging brown nosers scream at you and get your thread locked no matter your civility, but it's a constant and not worth your time in most scenarios.
The only ones 'worth' listening to are those players anyway, because most casuals (95% of the playerbase) like to just get on funny boat game and have a clunky pirate adventure, without getting 'deep' into the combat and why it sucks

I hate how many people will blow the shit out of your ship for no reason. I'm solo sailing with no emissary flag so there's no valuable treasure in my ship and nobody's flying any reaper flags so what's the problem?
I just want to do some comfy sailing and deliverin'. It also sucks that 80% of combat is decided by crew size rather since no matter how efficient you are or how hard you outplay the opponent, having an extra hand on deck overcompensates for any advantage the player down crew gains

The problem is its extremely hard to play solo. Especially with all the griefers. You need to play with friends otherwise you're going to have an awful time.
Just use one of the ESP's from unknowncheats or something that tells you where every player is, what ship they are sailing, how big is the crew, how close they are, also where all treasure and items are, I do every fricking time I play, 99% of my gametime is solo sloop and every fricker is cheating so why the frick shouldn't I, honestly only way to actually enjoy the game anymore

I had this happen to me once and im fricking pissed cause i checked the map 50 times and suddenly a reaper showed up in a random spot that was empty before
literally one of the main reasons I started using ESP's, you get a server no reapers then poof a 5 appears in the middle of the map and heads straight for you even with out an emissary up

Monkey Island are just three tall tales coming soon, within the current season. After that they'll announce the next one, which is already playable on Insiders. It just adds shit to do with other captains in guilds, leaderboards and all that. Expect streamer guilds or alliance autists always coming on top.

That is literally what they're doing. Nobody here has access to the Insider? Next big thing is PvE mode. You select any tall tale or voyage and jump into a solo server, like when you do hourglass. You come out of it after you're done, so technically you have to sell in multiplayer I think. But everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING (yes including world events) can be done solo.

The selling has to be done outside of it, any loot disappears when you enter, bit not when you come out.
So, quasi-solo mode. No alliances and shit. But still, it makes any kind of PvE easy.
Being chased across the map until you are finally caught and killed because you are outmanned and outgunned is not fun
They also changed it so that you cant run into the red sea and suicide with all your loot anymore. Rare just likes to reward the person who starts the chase and the victim cant even forfeit their loot now.

Sea of Thieves was an amazing game before the hourglass update inflated the subhuman cheater filth into a giant blistering tumor. The game really was overwhelmingly fun and easy to get good at until cheats and exploits became the main meta in more than a third of PVP encounters. Arena contained them all beforehand, they couldn't handle the downtime of Adventure and now Hourglass has given them free reign to grief. Rare has done nothing to fix it but stick their thumb their ass with one hand and upload skins to the Pirate Emporium(tm) with the other.

I know because I told a friend I'm uninstalling the game after this season ends, and he kept me up to date with these news. Otherwise I wouldn't know half of this shit.

Double gunning now has that omega long cooldown when you switch guns. Could've had a cheeky animation or something (like spinning your gun) to indicate you're on a shooting cooldown, but when you're standing there holding your pistol for a full 3 seconds before you can ADS it feels like slop

That's not what got patched though. What got patched out was the ability to sprint mid swap and animation cancel. Now people can't shoot two guns in the time it takes someone that didn't abuse animations to shoot one.

I had my big hayday when athena voyages were the only way to gain athena rep. Friends and I revisited the game several times between then and now and each time we played we noticed we could never find people that weren't brand new.

not anon so I agree with you for the most part but there's illegitimate workarounds. One is a very specific ladder exploit that lets you launch silently and basically surf at mach 5 with complete control over your speed/direction letting you just plop onto their deck. The other I've encountered is actual teleportation cheats lol

the inherent problem with sea of thieves is that the amount of ships on a server there should be to keep the sea interesting is unviable (although i'm aware the current limits are based on performance anyway) because that many ships on a server while great for sailing makes too much risk of getting attacked while you are on an island
there should be a land based game like sea of thieves with giant vehicle bases and each "island" has a bit below the ground you can drive into to hide your ship from people going past, still possible to be caught out if somebody wants to explore the same place as you or sees you going in or notices your actual character scuttering around outside but it shouldn't be too common.
you could achieve something similar in sea of thieves by having each island be a circle surrounded by mountains and you sail inside so you can only be seen from the entrance which one of the islands already is but that would make the environments a bit repetitive, although you would still be able to have really small islands without this where you just have to keep an eye out then rush to your ship if somebody is coming
It should be really embarrassing for a game from such a major dev having such a huge issue with cheaters, even indie games don't experience this

I've played the game for almost 30 hours now and have only been attacked by other players twice. We managed to sink a 4 man galleon in our sloop after they chased us for 30 minutes shit talking us the whole time.
Turns out all of them were too busy trying to board us instead of boarding their own ship.

I can tell you haven't touched the game for a long time. Supplies have been reworked and purchasable (not microtransaction, at the Merchant's part of the dock) for about a year or two now and the more recent updates give you the supplies of ships you sink. Reaper players are also typically shitters and everyone can see them (LE FREE ESP) from the moment they raise their flag.
