Anevia was born a man, so Irabeth and him are explicitly not gay. Nocticula is a Succubus who will literally frick anything and anyone, implying she's just a lesbian is shit when she'll frick animals, monsters, constructs, whatever. Same with Arue. The Queen and Wenduag are romanceable by anyone, including men. And Areelu Vorlesh is explicitly not a lesbian since the entire plot of the game and existence of the worldwound is a result of that.

Why do you feel like you have to misrepresent and argue disingenuously to make your points? Do you think if you didn't lie or just presented them in honest good faith that they wouldn't be strong enough on their own?

At least it has some connection to the story via that evil dude. Meanwhile Devil and Golden Dragon are legit asspulls, and not even the fun kind at that. The problem in general is that they all come in act 5, and unlike Legend they lack the appeal. Had we had the ability to meet some Devil in act 1 who goes "psst kid, wanna sign a contrat?", or a Golden Dragon father-figure of Terendelev go "shit, we gotta revive her - quick let me empower you so that we can work together" or something along those lines things would have been far more natural and smother.

I also honestly doubt that they'll fix that problem with EE.

                1. Gold Dragon and Swarm should've been cut.
                2. Azata + Trickster should've been combined into a Fey Path.
                3. Devil should've been a starting path. The forces of Cheliax and the Church of Asmodeus are already part of the Crusades.
                4. Legend should've been a starting "hard mode" path, with story rewards.
                5. Demon should've been the only late game path. It makes no sense demonic powers would be tolerated by anyone in the Crusades. Relegate the path to when you are banished to the Abyss.
                6. Cut the Lich path, and save it for later DLC.

Here you go, now you can apply much more resources to a smaller, more sensible pool of paths.

Several reasons. Without a guide and taking specific evil action its pretty difficult to unlock. It generally only of interest of people wanting to do a evil playthrough. Perhaps the biggest stickler here, EVERYONE abandons you for taking this path. Your companions, your advisors, everyone. Depending on your choices you may need to kill your former party members.

You have to be seriously committed to role playing as the biggest dick possible to the point it stops being fun. People talk a lot of shit about the characters, some of it rightfully so but don't think there is a whole lot of people willing to kill all of them off.

Actually kind of realistic. High level pf is a game of rocket tag, combat rarely lasts more than a couple turns if you know what you're doing.
One round Deskari kills are very easy to achieve on both pnp and videogame, why wouldn't he be able to do the same to Terendelev?

Yeah, ancient silver dragon (CR19), second tier metallic not even old enough to be at peak strength, nowhere near the top end of pf's power scale.
Nevermind demigods, your kingmaker party should be able to destroy her by the time they reach Pitax.
                >it's not tramatic though
Well yes, that's a problem. Should have made her at least a herald of Iomedae or something stupid like that instead of a basic b***h silver dragon, but what can you do? Paizo is not known for its excellently written campaigns.

Lol I don't remember what level he was in the videogame, but he was (mechanically) full demon lord tier in the pnp (CR26/MR6, not quite Deskari tier but about the same as Baphomet and Kostchtchie) in spite of being by lore not even a nascent demon lord, just a balor lord.
Terendelev shouldn't have had any business defeating him either considering a silver dragon in the max age bracket is just CR22, but author fiat is overpowers everything else.

They're made to be rekt by the player.
That said they're particukarly bad in wrath because that mystic path was added very late as an extra goal on patreon, so it was basically an afterthought.

I understand the devs wanted to use her as a scale to show off how strong Deskari is, but because they never actually showed her strength, the example fell flat.

They really should have had her easily wipe out a dozen or so demons before battling Deskari for at least 5-10 seconds before she gets defeated.

She didn't even flinch when Deskari leapt at her, like she was waiting to die. She fought a gold dragon for over a week straight without rest before, but cant side step an extremely telegraphed and slow leap attack?

They should have had a small opening tutorial be with her leading you and cam safely out of the square. You then get to see her just nuke high lvl demons like nothing in her human form before getting roflstomped by deskari

I think I made a mistake by choosing Lich as the first mythic path to play through the game.
Now that I am trying different paths on new playthroughs to see how they differ, I can't get over just how weak they all feel.
Even the angel everyone claimed is the be all and end all on par with Lich does frickall for damage and 90% of its spellbook is composed out of redundant defensive buffs.
How do I make this game fun again?

      Anonymous

Angel gets mass bolt of justice which clears rooms in one cast. As far as I know that's usually what people are talking about being overpowered, the rest is in line with other mythic paths.

Anon, Angel is powerful because of joining spellbooks. Choose a divine full caster and you'll be 3 levels ahead in casting. Then use the 24h everything buffs + bolt of justice + solar thing to clear maps in a wink.

Cleric vs Oracle for a gish type character?
I know that battle Oracle is crazy, but how does Cleric compare?
    Any interesting dips?

      Anonymous

      >Cleric vs Oracle for a gish type character?
Oracle is basically a focused cleric. If you want to specifically be a gish (in the sense of buffing yourself to the gills and then go to town with a weapon) it's clearly better as long as you choose gish mysteries like battle.
      >I know that battle Oracle is crazy, but how does Cleric compare?
Take oracle, remove all abilities other than spells, you have a cleric. As a gish, knowing all the spells is not really useful to you.
      >Any interesting dips?
The usual bullshit. Paladin for cha to saves, monk for cha to ac, etc. Depending on your mystery and revelations they might end up being redundant.
I guess you could go oradin, but dedicating resources to healing is not really optimal for a gish.

Cleric is pretty much 100% a support class.

Since we are already discussing power level bullshit, and Owlcat is making a Rogue Trader crpg, how would Rovagug fare within the 40k verse? He seems to be the designated "final boss" of the Pathfinder universe, but it seems like 40k is full of such creatures already. Still, a literal army of deities couldn't kill him.

      Anonymous

      > how would X fare within the 40k verse?
Don't. The entire point of 40k is that everything is the single most OP version of it. There are guns that shoot atom thin ninja stars or one that time travels your body from the future to super-impose it over your present body, having neutrons trying to overlap themselves and ultimately collapsing you into a black hole.

      Just don't.

Ok. What about Warhammer Fantasy then?

          Anonymous

i'm not that well versed in Warhammer Fantasy and most of my knowledge about it I got via osmosis with Vermintide and Total Warhammer, but since Rovagug is just very likely an Old One (eldritch entity) that just crashlanded on Golarion, I'd say he'd fit in neatly as one of Chaos' strongest avatars or champions, but not quite one of the Chaos Gods as they are not "dudes" afaik and closer concepts and forces of nature. Could just be my 40k lore bleeding in, but i'm not sure. Rovagug would likely only be killed if at least half the Warhammer setting banded together, which they never will and which is why Chaos will always win the longest of runs.

But pulling back to 40k, you'll actually have a pretty good grasp of what the Warp is by just internalizing that it's both Worldwound and First World mashed together into an incoherent, immaterial and unbelievably dangerous adjacent dimension to the material plane. I'm legit curious how they're gonna explain away you having alien companions, cause maybe I just don't know Rogue Traders enough but I find it to be nigh impossible.

            Anonymous

Rogue Traders can do pretty much whatever they want except for worship chaos (some do).

      Anonymous

      >how would Rovagug fare within the 40k verse
It's not very clear how powerful Rovagug actually is, as pathfinder gods are pretty shit tier power wise but at the same time they managed to capture an entity that supposedly can bring forth the literal end of the multiverse to start a new cycle.
Best way to approximate it would probably be that anything god tier in warhammer can stop it, nothing can kill it.

Khorramzadeh, the Stormlord. He's basically just a blue Balor with lightning powers. You get to fight him in the game and he's legitimately worse to fight than any full demon lord other than Ereshkigal.

Notably, aside from Terendelev and many other heroes, Khorramzadeh defeated Helbrecht of the Black Templars and took his hand as a trophy.

He is not that bad if you have everyone equipped with evasion rings.
The main issue is his Vavakia buddy with 80 AC on normal, albeit he can't do shit either since the rings also counter his breath.

I mean, it honestly doesn't matter much in the game if you're already running 4 frontliners (Trickster main for improved improved improved improved critical netting a ~50% crit chance with an x4 or x5 weapon) feeding each other crits off of outflank and seize the moment. Just crit baphomet or deskari once and laugh as a massive wall of text flows through the combat log while the health bar instantly disappears.

Man I just tried the game and I'm inclined to agree with people that mythic makes it too easy, and the inability to drop those in favor of going Legend from the get go really soured my experience. Chapter 5 and 6 sucked as per usual I guess, but 1-4 was pretty good. 1 and 2 were great, 3rd was surprisingly interesting due to exploration and 4th was a pain the ass so I just cheated and used teleport keys to get around - cut my travel time by more than half lol. A shame you can't curb Nocticula, wanted to fricking destroy that evil b***h together with Baphomet and then Deskari. Apparently trickster and Demon can, but only after chapter 5.

All in all I really disliked the "gonna judge you, homosexual" stance they took with Iomedale and Nocticula. I was like "bitches, go frick yourselves I don't give a shit, leave me alone and let me play" - but nah gotta drop the whole judgement shtick.

Mounted combat tanking and mythic cheese ability stacking made the game unironically too easy. They change the meta a bit too much, also a lot of classes got obsolete with things like Primalist gigamogging the entire Barbarian class. The system got really bloated in that aspect. I did like Chad Vital Strike Rowdy tho.

That aside the whole GRAND UBERCHAD CHOSEN ONE GOTTA SAVE THE WORLD - but really you're just a creation of a bored grandma b***h and an a whorish demon who basically represents all females in this world - really wasn't my shtick. Also didn't like how I'm surrounded by women and troons. Like frick off already.

Camilla: Psychopath deserve the rope, so I kindly executed her when I finally found out. Wish I could do it in chapter 1 but oh well. Called her being a killer day 1, but I guess everyone else is too moronic. 10/10, we need more companions that are there just to be killed.

Wenduarg: Discount Psychopath only dumber. Executed her after she was caught eating male meat - no innuendo btw.

Basedsiel: Contemplated kicking him, but then he didn't talk with whole "brudda ghettotalk", and his story with his brother was actually alright, not the greatest, and could have been done better. I got some serious "please buck-break me"-vibes from him tho.

Trevor: Ekundayo part 2. Nothing memorable.

Daeran: Started out reddit power-fantasy of rich guy, but then got interesting and by the end of it I was laughing real hard with him going "SHOW THE MIDDLEFINGER TO IEMEKEKDALE!!!". Based. He hated all the other characters I hated, 10/10.

Nenio: Furgay reddit companion. Meh, kicked and didn't regret anything. Her comments are moronic anyway "OH GEE SCIENCE!!!! I HECKING LUV SCIENCE!!!!!!"

Regill: Greatest companion in RPGs this past decade. Him being stuck in this game is a punishment.

Greybor: "It's only business". Actual non-reddit companion. Kept him and didn't regret a thing. Great guy.

Ember: Squiky mary sue "Talk no Jutsu" bullshit. Next playthough I'm gonna allow the knights to execute her.

Commander. I must say that it is a pleasure to work with you. Your professionalism is top notch, as is your work ethic. I typically don't get clients like you. No, my clients tend to, shall we say, have a head full of water?

Take my last job, for instance. A brother hired me to deal with another brother. Sounds like a typical inheritance or title battle, doesn't it? But these were teenagers, Commander. You know what upset this client? He shouted "last one to jump in the lake is a homosexual" and jumped in, expecting the brother to scramble to jump in.

The brother jumped in. Now my client was a homosexual.

        >*hits pipe*

So this teen hired me to frick his brother. Frick him right in his boypussy. It was an easy enough job. The guards knew not to disturb us. So despite the cries and plea, the guards never stopped me. And this client had specific request, so after I nutted in the boy, I had to whisper in his ear "Who's the homosexual now?"

        >*hits pipe*

Turns out I was the homosexual, Commander. See, the two brothers played a joke on me. They made me frick a servant in the ass just to call me gay.

Highly unprofessional. I'm glad to be working with you instead.

I still find it hilarious how seething some of the players were at the notion that Camelia doesn't get a "happy" ending - they completely missed the point of her character.
It's not wonder they slapped that "Ascension" ending to most paths - imagine the reeeing if several paths were devoid of a "golden" ending. And then they made the Ascension ending having the player do exactly what the villain wanted all along, and it flew right over most people's heads. And yes, Owlcat has confirmed that the Ascension ending is a trap.

Rowdy Vital strike build. 11 levels to get it online and after that you're free to add whatever you see fit. 5 levels I put into Scion and 4 DD (Precise Strike, otherwise I would have gone bard), then finish off with either two handed fighter or mutagen warrior depending on what you want.

Granted Trickster probably would work better with that shit, but I don't like its theme so it can go frick itself.

        Anonymous

Well, if you are going mutagen warrior, you should get at least 5 levels of it.
Slayer for quick study and some extra sneak dice or freebooter for sense vitals and freebooter bane/bond is also good.

Generally, I'd pick a full bab class for a vital strike build after you get all you want from Rowdy

I don't know how well this would work but there's a demon ability that adds reach to all your spells in demon rage so I was thinking about doing an Eldritch Archer, since one of their main weaknesses is that most of the Magus spells are touch spells and they need ranged touch spells.

You can hardly blame others for calling a spade a spade just because it makes you seethe to see people make a distinction between men pretending to be women and actual women.

I legit had no idea it was a dude originally, had to look it up on the wiki. In this setting, though, it's quite honestly the only place where they are legit women because it's literally magic. As much as it might make anon seethe I don't think this bothers me because it's not a dude who cut his dick off then bombed his body with female hormones to convince himself he didn't make the mistake of a lifetime.
Even Baldur's Gate 1 lets you swap sex with a cursed belt, so I don't think it's that crazy in Pathfinder, unless there's something else I'm not aware of.

They've moved the goalposts on what they consider steroids. Plenty of performance enhancing drugs are considered "non-roids", when in reality they really are, but that's just nature of the beast. So yeah, in general, what that anon said is truth - most if not all of them are on some sort of drug. That whole notion of "clean" is just obfuscation.

Anevia being a man is even less is doubt in the setting than it would be irl for a troony.
Because while we're still fighting over the definition of woman and female, in Golarion polymorph effects are not true transformations, and a body has an objective true shape.
I'm pretty sure souls aren't gendered in the setting though, so switching to a natively female body might do the trick. Too bad Anevia just drank a potion, lol.

Second edition polymorph spell had the effect that the longer someone is in a polymorphed state, the more likely they started to be convinced that was their natural state until that actually flips over they stop being magical and a dispel will no longer work, only a wish.

What are the chances of them adding more companions for each mythic path? The only ones implemented are companions for Lich, and Galfrey for Angel. If we stretch the definition a bit, you can maybe add Azata to this as they got that Aivu. But what about the rest? Demon got nothing, Aeon got nothing, and if you would implement companions for them, who would it be?

For Aeon, I'd say you can go with pretty much anything, but I suppose Staunton would be a decent. For Demon I have no idea. Maybe one of the Abyss NPCs we meet in chapter 4.

You can go solo if the point is going full material plane supremacist, but that's not really a counterargument anyway. If anything, you giving up the mythic juice would have made a great plot hook for healing your contaminated lands and party members
            >unhook Woljif, Ember and Daeran from their manipulative daddy/empyreal/cthulhu
            >cure the mongrels

Sure, but something like that changes everything on too much of a fundamental level for a path choice and Owlcat is too lazy for that shit.
The best they could manage was Swarm and that was solved by getting kekked by Iomedae, having everyone take a piss on your corpse, then do a time skip to ensure you can't kill any of the characters.

They've also been asking on Twitter and their forums which NPCs would the players like to see becoming full companions. So far Nurah and that Drow seem to be most favoured picks, followed by Hulrun.

It would be great if they added a path with Nurah where you enslave her, maybe only if you're a follower of Asmodeus. I doubt Paizo will allow it though. I have no idea why anyone would want Kaylessa as a follower, I mostly find her annoying.

It's literally 20 more levels with all the BAB that entails, just pick a damage dealing class, like Deliverer

Flame Warden is also very suitable.

      Phoenix Rising At 20th level
      >the flamewarden gains immunity to fire, and once per day, the flamewarden rises from the ashes of his own destruction 1 round after dying. The flamewarden's body re-forms with all his equipment, and he returns to life with half his maximum hit points.

      Phoenix Blast At 16th level
      >if a flamewarden dies, his body explodes in a conflagration in a 20-foot spread. Each hostile creature in the area takes 10d6 points of fire damage unless it succeeds at a Reflex save (DC = 10 + half the ranger's level + his Constitution modifier) for half damage. The flames don't harm the flamewarden's allies, who instead are healed 5d6 points of damage, and any poisons they are currently suffering are neutralized.

      Burning Renewal At 12th level
      >a flamewarden can use the cleansing power of fire to remove afflictions from his body, mind, and soul. When the flamewarden takes 10 or more points of fire damage, he removes the following conditions: fatigued, shaken, sickened, exhausted, frightened, and nauseated. Additionally, he removes 1d6 points of ability damage and 1d6 points of ability drain from the most damaged ability scores of his choice.
      >The flamewarden can use this ability only once each time he takes fire damage, regardless of how much damage it deals over the required amount. He can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + his Wisdom modifier.
      >If the flamewarden has fire resistance or immunity to fire, fire damage he would have otherwise taken still counts toward activating burning renewal.

Stoking the Embers At 9th level
      >a flamewarden can fan the last spark of a recently slain creature's life force back into a full flame. Once per day as a standard action, a flamewarden can touch the corpse of a creature to grant it the effects of breath of life.

      And some Fire themed spells.

The army in Act 2 is boring, for whatever reason the game doesn't give you any of the interesting units until the latter half of Act 3 and there are a lot of shit units you have to wade through. You can also take a wizard general and mostly forget about army mechanics.

It might surprise you to learn that in spite of the extremely negative reaction players had to both kingdom building in KM and crusade mode in WotR Owlcat is actually genuinely enthused about making these shit minigames, and we will certainly see another iteration in the upcoming rogue trader rpg.

Rogue Trader basically HAS to have some sort of a management system, since your flagship is, for all intents and purposes, even population-wise, a moving city. If anything, I would expect - and hope - for such mechanics to be greatly fleshed out.

That's just how Owlcat does DLC as a general rule.
Since they half ass all of your "choices" in the game, the DLC always has to be relegated to something instanced and short, instanced and puzzle-ridden so they don't have to balance it for all builds, or just build autism dungeon with nothing in it.
Somehow this time they managed to grab the worst parts of all of them.

I want Harrim in my party but I don't know what to built him as. So far I'm making him a fighter/cleric, with him having more points towards fighter over cleric.

      Anonymous

I don't think that's very wise, anon. He doesn't have the STR or DEX to become a DPS fighterman, nor the CON + DEX to become an effective tank. He is a pretty good cleric but just not a channeling one, so not the best healing cleric. I always spec him as an offensive cleric.
You can, though, multi him into some WIS Arcane so you can replace Octavia with a not-so squishy or not as strong caster.

        Anonymous

I see. I will take your advice because I really don't know what to have him as, you're more knowledgable at this building stuff so I'll respec him as only being an offensive cleric.

          Anonymous

One common spec is to do him as a necromancer cleric. Shaking bones and stealing hearts of dryads with their low fortitude save.

            Anonymous

Pretty much this. Having him become an Arcane caster is going to require bit of an extra investment due to the armor spell failure or completely forgot his ability to wear real armor.
For weapon I usually give him a longspear since it's the only Simple Reach weapon he can wield. You could always give him a shield instead but his -1 DEX is always going to bork his AC and any good defensive feats, so I usually forgo it entirely.
He's pretty much built to be a frontline offensive cleric and I honestly don't know what much else you can do with him without heavy investments.

      Anonymous

I hope by "fighter/cleric" you mean "cleric, with fighter-focused feats". Because any significant multiclassing with a caster is almost invariably a bad idea.

He'll never be great in melee but with a reach weapon he can stay behind your frontline and everyone's stats eventually get inflated by +6/+8 items so he'll be able to pull his weight.

Nah 1 or 2 level dips are OK, or if its a class that still offers spellcasting progression. I'm talking about doing something like 50/50 fighter/cleric, which is what it sounds like he's doing.

Oh ok. I don't blame him too much if he's coming from BG 1 or 2, though.

I'm aware, it's just that he's not the first person to say they're doing a F/C, but I've heard it before for PCs, which confuses me.

      Anonymous

He makes a fairly good disploomer with a thug dip - the only problem is his lack of skill points, so you have to sacrifice either Perception (don't do it) or Lore Religion. But other than that, Intimidation is fairly easy to snowball to incredible values, and it turns him into an excellent long range support instead of a mediocre frontliner.
Actually, Dazzlng Display is a very situational skill - it's mostly good when your party is ambushed. Single target Intimidation has an incredible range, and it frightens only the enemies you want to frighten - namely melee fighters. Making archers and casters run even further away is generally a bad idea.

Heavy Mace is probably the best weapon option. You get +3 with Freedom of Movement from Hargulka, and +5 with bonus to Intimidate in Irovetti's palace if I'm not mistaken.

So the standard party right now loooks for me: My angel warpriest of Iodmedae, Seela, Sosiel, Ember as double dragon fire witch, Lann going drovier with a bully lizard and Nenio as loremaster once she gets scroll mastery.

It seems to be a bit spell heavy and has lots of healing but it kinda works so far. Haven't gotten to Drezen yet, though. Seela does trickery well enough and self boosted Warpriest still does damage with a boosted Lizard tanking good. Will this be good enough? I mean, I'm only playing on normal anyway.

Your character will eventually have enough self-buffs from Angel that you should be dispatching enemies pretty efficiently, probably the only frustration you'll run into is having to rest but with abundant casting you'll be able to cast one or two spells per combat and still go through whole dungeons without rest. If you don't feel like you need Seelah since you have the lizard to tank you could also swap her for Greybor or Regill once they join your party for more melee damage.

      Ember is pretty much useless.
Very few enemies require energy damage to kill, and the few that do can be killed by holy damage procs on melee hits as well as bolt of justice spam.

Ember is better as a supportive hex spammer.

With one level on crossblooded and gold/red dragon bloodline her fire spells do alright damage. Gave her the mythic feat to ignore fire resistance, too. I think she'll make a fine blaster.

The point is not enemies needing energy to die, it's her targeting touch AC.
And she can do so while doing hex support spam. Cackle being move action helps, keep protective oens and evil eye alive while throwing spells.
You either user her spell slots for rays or for enchantment CC plus Hexes.

        >using casters at all
Why? All you need to do is outfit a bunch of melee characters with outflank and seize the moment then wait for a cascade of AoOs that deletes literally fricking everything in the game.

Because if you do not actually buff them until mythic bullshit coems online, there are plenty enemies they will not hit or shit they will not resist.

Duelist is in, but you only get 10 levels of it. Unfortunately no other martial classes have similar kind of defensive feats to the Aldori classes, so you're kind of stuck combining it with that. Swashbuckler would have been a good inclusion though.

Mixing Fey bloodrage with Celestial Bloodrage is so ridiculously potent.

1st level, your crits cause Confusion (this would normally cost 2 feats to achieve, a level 9 feat and another feat which requires +10 to +17 levels in base attack. The sheer value of Confusing Critical
is immense and you get it at level 1)
1st level you also get Angelic Attacks, which should be worth 1 feat on its own.
That's 3 feats, how can other Bloodlines ever cope with this?

4th level, Leaping Charger, very practical to have. Worth 1 feat.
And 2 resistances. They scale up as you level. That's definitely worth something.

8th level, you get 1 round of free Blur when you move. valuable defensive trait.
Some weird skill check reroll. It probably has no value in the game. But on tabletop you could rage at will and make use of this.

12th level free passive Haste, this is worth way, wayyyy more than a feat. Immense value.
You get wings, that's cool I guess.

16th level 15 foot aura that lets you dominate all animals and plants with Fasciate. This wold have been OP in Kingmaker.
+4 deflection AC and +4 saving throws against evil creatures.

20th level. All melee attacks come with free Bane enchantment. FUACKKKK I this shit is worth like 10 to 20 feats on its own depending on the setting of the game.
Immunity to acid, cold, petrification. Resistance to Electricity, Fire, and Poison.

That is a motherfricking powerful combination.

Nice. Just finished my Primalist run tonight. First bloodline was Serpent and I was thinking of getting about Fey for Mythic Second Bloodline, but I wasn't so sure about the Bane...

Ended up getting one of the Dragon ones for 4-5 bonus feats.

        Anonymous

Primalist is interesting because you can pick&choose/combine bloodlines with traditional Barbarian rage powers.
The Leaping charger at level 4 and the aura at level 16 are the obvious candidates to forgo to get the Lethal Stance with +1 crit multiplier effect.

Some potentially interesting power spike moments for the Fey Bloodrager:
Level 1 - Crit effect if you give him weapons with crit range 18-20
Level 8 - The free Blur
Level 9 - Get Improved Critical to achieve 15-20 crit range
        Level 11 - Critical Focus
Level 12 - The free Haste
Level 13 - (A 2nd Critical effect based on Criticla Focus???)
Level 15 - Need to research if Critical Mastery now gives a 2nd Effect, or a 3rd Effect.
Level 17 - The 3rd Crit effect (if it works)
        Level 20 - Universal Bane

I'm currently doing a primalist bloodrager with Fey bloodline, I was planning to take the beast totem line at 8 and 12, and lethal stance at 12 and 16 I think. The problem with a lot of the celestial stuff is that it can be replaced with buffs, Greater Angelic Aspect grants the +4 deflection AC and resistance to the party, energy resistance can be put up whenever, leaping charger already gives you 90% of what you'd want from wings. The skill roll and free holy damage would be nice but by the time I could take second bloodline I'd already be out of Act 1 and 1d6 isn't even close to what I can get with other mythic abilities.

Similarly, I am trading out the blur and haste effects since I can have someone else cast those on me for fights where I'm at risk of being hit, whereas pounce is going to hopefully be pretty nasty on this build since I'm focusing on charging. I wanted to try taking advantage of the mobility trickster trick that lets you counterattack AoOs, and trigger them while charging so my counterattacks get the bonus from mythic charge.

Meh I misunderstood the Mixed Blood Rager. I thought he would have 2 active bloodlines simultaneously at the cost of losing his spell casting and losing his 5 Bloodline Feats.

I want to make my main guy a mage-type arcane caster this run, what would you guys recommend? Arcanist looked interesting, but the vast majority of the exploits are useless without investment into charisma, and I was hoping to go all-in with either intelligence or charisma exclusively. An Exploiter Wizard could solve this problem, but I would rather go with a Scroll Savant if I was going with a wizard (of which I would be doubling up with Nenio). What did you guys find the most fun playing with? Any arcane caster can work, as long as it's fun.

      Anonymous

I had fun with an Azata enchanter sorcerer (I went nine-tailed heir to try it but I wouldn't recommend it, I hardly ended up using the spells you get). I took best jokes which makes hideous laughter disable entire rooms of enemies, with persistent spell and favorable magic the enemy has to pass the save 4 times to resist it. The main downside I ran into is that a lot of bosses and random enemies are completely immune to mind affecting (including Gallu demons for no reason), and then even more are immune to compulsion so you have to read the spell descriptors carefully. With that said favorable magic and zippy magic are going to be good for any caster.

If you want to go Scroll Savant and also use Nenio you can just not be an illusionist. The easiest thing to do with her is to build up her illusion DCs and use phantasmal killer until you get to weird, so your character could do almost anything else and not be duplicative.

        >I had fun with an Azata enchanter sorcerer (I went nine-tailed heir to try it but I wouldn't recommend it, I hardly ended up using the spells you get)
Wow, that was almost 1-1 what I was going to do initially but I changed my mind on Nine-Tailed because it seemed gimmicky. I think I'm still going to go with a Azata Kitsune (I really like that one portrait), but I'll go with a Conjuration Scroll Savant. Thanks for the advice bro.

I don't know what the deal with Archanists are, I did a bit of research and apparently there's a lot of amazing exploits that aren't in the game. A real shame because I like the class in concept, but all but a few exploits are a total waste of time.

          Anonymous

Arcanist's casting is pretty good on its own since it gets the scroll copying feature from wizards but casts spontaneously like a sorcerer, you could probably just forget about most of the exploits and use the caster level boost feature from the arcane power pool if you wanted.

I don't know if you wanted to focus more on summoning or cc, but some of the high level druid summons are pretty neat so you might think about dipping Loremaster to get the druid spell secret. I think you can only pick each type of secret once, so you'd probably want to wait to get the druid spell one until you can cast 9th level spells, on the other hand Scroll Mastery is based on your CL, not your wizard level, so you could take 10 levels of loremaster if you want.

            Anonymous

One of the Arcanist Subclasses swaps it's spellbook with a Druid, so that might be cool. An Eldritch Font Arcanist does look neat as well (I have no clue what Font of Power is supposed to do though, 1 more spell slot but you cast one less spell per day I guess?). I do want to do a bit of both Summoning and CC, so I'm going to try to see which option is better for that.

There's a Warpriest class that specializes in shield bashing specifically, but I don't know how well it will mesh with Azata or Trickster. Also you can't bash with tower shields unfortunately, because that would be too cool.

As long as they're decent in melee and aren't too feat intensive intrinsically, totally. A proper shield bash build takes a lot of investment, since you pretty much require: Two-Weapon Fighting (15 Dex), Shield Bash, Bashing Finish, Shield Master, plus trying to get some feats that add bonuses to shields to make the lack of an off-hand weapon worth it. The big benefit of a Shield Bash build is being able to Dual-Wield weapons while still getting the defensive perks of a shield, while the downside is that you basically have to make sure you're investing everything properly. Part of the reason I recommended the Shieldbearer Warpriest is because it adds benefits directly to your shield, while still giving you a bunch of bonus feats to play around with on top of that.

With the combat style feat types Rangers get (Weapon and Shield), I could absolutely see it working well for you. The first time I tried it was with a Gendarme Cavalier and I beat the game just fine and they don't even get bonuses to that style at all. As long as you know what you're doing, it's not too difficult.

            Anonymous

Is there any restrictions to what God you follow as a warpriest?

You can follow any deity you want, as long as your alignment fits within their allowed parameters. The Sacred Weapon ability will only affect the preferred weapon of your deity with a normal Warpriest, but a Shieldbearer gets it on their shield instead. They also determine the blessings that you're allowed to use, which are basically just nerfed versions of the Cleric Domains, but some are better then others. For Desna, I'd look at the Chaos, Luck and Travel blessings. Also, if you choose Shieldbearer, I would pick Heavy Shield Bash as your Weapon Focus when you're prompted. You don't have to use the preferred weapon of your deity (starknife) with a Shieldbearer, you can pretty much use anything you want.

Oh, and I forgot to mention: DO NOT INVEST IN SPIKED SHIELDS. They suck total fricking balls, and it's the absolute worst of both worlds when it comes to dual-wielding shit. Use heavy shields, trust me on this.

Yep, any type of armor. Since they're divine casters, they don't have any spell failure in any armor.

You already sacrifice so much just to use tower shields properly that I'm not sure why they wouldn't let you bash with them.

It would be cool, but that's probably why you can't bash with them. You sacrifice so much to use them already that getting all the bash feats would be way too feat intensive for all but pure Fighters and maybe Gendarme Cavaliers, and even then they still wouldn't be that good at their job.

All it would take is a couple feat dedicated to it, and it would be great. Some upsides, some downsides, hell make an entire subclass around the concept. It's not impossible.

And given the hardon Paizo has for feats, you think they'd be more than happy to add that shit in. I mean they already force you to take a feat for fricking swinging your weapon harder or a feat for having more accuracy when you're closer to your god damn target.

I've thought of a bunch of homebrew-type shit that would go great in these games, if only there were a way to make a sort of "custom class" that you can incorporate elements of different classes into. Tower Shield Specialist and Shield Bearer, Paladin and Monk/Brawler, a sort of Arcanist that merges the Divine and Arcane spell books together (think Cleric/Mage from BG), and the list goes on. I feel like a kind of custom class mod would be amazing in this game, if a little broken obviously.

Buddy the early game is a set of puzzles all its own. Positioning, preparation, and creative use of terrain is so much more important in those early stages.

Playing on hard and full clearing everything before the big bar fight was torturous but it was doable. Wracking your brain to try to solve those problems is the entire point of the game. The story is nothing special. It's the gameplay that we're all here for.

NTA and like him happy you enjoy that sort of thing, but all I find in that type of "puzzles" is tedium, dissatisfaction and an extreme lack of immersion born out of very, very clunky rulesets.
The gameplay is genuinely not a selling point in the slightest unless you have old fashioned build autism, which relates at best to enjoying spreadsheet simulation for the sake of it.
Nothing bad in enjoying that sort of thing, but it's hardly anything special; it's the exact same DnD exploiting of bad design to clear overbloated enemies it has ever been, with vaguely different answers following the exact same patterns all the same, in slightly different positioning.

      >At 10th level, a grenadier's bombs become particularly overwhelming when they explode. Whenever a grenadier scores a successful critical hit with a bomb, the creature directly struck by that bomb is staggered for 1d4+1 rounds.
That's very valuable. It's worth 2 feats, and it comes at the cost of poison immunity.

      >Precise Bombs
      >When the alchemist throws a bomb, it doesn't affect allies.
Also valuable. Worth 1 Discovery feats. Come sat the cost of +2 poison resist

      >Alchemical Weapon
      >At 2nd level, a grenadier can infuse a weapon or piece of ammunition with a single harmful alchemical liquid or powder, such as alchemist’s fire or sneezing powder, as a move action. This action consumes the alchemical item, but transfers its effect to the weapon in question.
It's a free feat, comes at the cost of nothing. Potentially useful mutlticlass shenanigan.

      >Directed Blast
      >At 6th level, a grenadier can detonate a bomb so that it splashes in a 30-foot cone rather than affecting a radius. The cone starts at the alchemist and extends away from her in the direction she chooses. Each creature within the cone takes damage as if it had suffered a direct hit from the alchemist's bomb but succeeding at a Reflex save (DC = 10 + 1/2 the alchemist's level + the alchemist's Intelligence modifier) halves the damage.
Another free feat, comes at the cost of nothing.

It's a strong subclass, but there are probably some Adventure paths out there where the poison immunity is immensely valuable.

Only Lich has outright synergy with alchemists/grenadiers.
However, you get indirect support with other mythics, whether it is a further boost in ranged attack rolls when throwing bombs or debuffing enemy saves.
I guess with trickster, you could go for bomb critical build plus rushing to Use magic device 3 trick and get a full wizard spellbook

Force bombs are still pretty moronic.

If Descari can just randomly teleport in and nuke a major city why doesn't he just wipe Mendev off the face of the earth?

Mendev was occupied at the start of the game and later you reclaim sword of valor

The wardstones prevent demonic teleportation, but the one in Kenabras was weakened because the angels in it started fighting each other. One of your advisors notes after you take Drezen that the demon armies need their cultists, other mortal allies and undead for numbers which is why they have to march along the roads rather than teleporting everywhere.

I'm gonna make a duel wielding sword saint tomorrow , looking for weapon and mythic path recommendations

Magus wants to critical hit all the time.
Gravesinger Axe is unique crit focused axe.
Otherwise Scimitars, Falcatas, Rapiers, Estocs, Kukris are solid options.
Trickster Path is the critical hit path.
Lich, Azata and Golden Dragon Paths are good for gishes.
Use Weapon Focus Plus mod if you want more freedom to play around.
Use Merged Spellbook Mod if you want to play around with gish builds.

Seems to work with 2/handed. Dont see why its different for dual wield

Hey, this is pretty powerful, isn't it?

Especially if you just pick 4 levels of Sword Saint for multiclassing.
You can add all of the wand damage you have, and they rarely run out.
At 4th level you also get Perfect Strike which increases your crit multiplier. This is normally a level 16 Ability, or a level 20 Ability.

Useful enough but would say its low priority. While Sword Saint has slightly reduced spell slots. Built and buffed properly the enemy is isn't going to live long enough to warrant the extra casting from the feat.

        >built and buffed properly
You mean "dimensional blade + mythic vital strike" crit fishing

I think it will be useful so you can go further without resting.

Sure but I don't recommend you take it if the type of guy who keeps consumable items tucked away "just in case". I would put Accuracy Feats as higher priority. AC and saving throws in this game can get ridiculously high and additional castings won't help much if you can't even hit enemies

Also sword saints are kinda buff heavy to begin with. If you really need more buffs then spec out one of your party members for the job.

            Anonymous

Honestly besides buffs. True Strike is the only real spell you want to regularly cast for a Magus. Get a quicken spell item and cast true strike before making a full attack.

That includes bosses. It isn't that uncommon for a properly built Sword Saint to one shot bosses.

          Anonymous

That's not unusual, since in these games the only difference between a boss and a regular enemy is that one of them has a name and dialogue. Across all the games like this, honestly the only "real" boss fight is the Lantern King. Thaos Ix Arkannon sort of has proper boss fight qualities with his soul transference mechanic, but that's about it. For all these other bosses, for example there's functionally no difference between fighting Demogorgon in ToB and fighting Deskari.

Which of these abilities would you pick?

They all look incredibly strong, except for the one that halves the movement, the Rogue's Debilitating ability already does that even more often.

Best critical eff is stagger or sickening

That's the level 10 Duelist ability. It doesn't have what you're talking about.

I would say focus on actually landing your criticals first. So get the improved critical feat or keen weapon first. That being said Crippling Critical is one of the better on crit abilities. But if you are going for Sword Saint you are probably better off focusing on raw damage.

        Anonymous

        >That being said Crippling Critical is one of the better on crit abilities.
        ???
It has like 5 different effects, I'm asking which effect is the best.

Hard to go wrong with AC penalty or bleed damage. Enemy physical stats can get so high that Strength/Dex damage isn't going to do much if you can't do it consistently/

          Anonymous

Do you have someone trying to land save or die spells like phantasmall killer or Icy prison etc? Take the save mallus.
If you kill them on melee, take the AC one.

    >At 5th level, quarterstaff master can use his quarterstaff to make his first attack during a flurry of blows make a free trip attempt, which does not provoke attack of opportunity.
    Dayum...
    >At 4th level, in hands of a quarterstaff master all quarterstaves deal damage as if it was one size category larger.
    >At 12th level, in hands of a quarterstaff master all quarterstaves deal damage as if it was 2 size category larger.
    >At 20th level, in hands of a quarterstaff master all quarterstaves deal damage as if it was 3 size category larger.
Shiiiiieeeett.... Quarterstaff was the King weapon all along.

It would work nicely with the Dragon Style.

Would have loved to be a Quarterstaff Sword Saint if there was a half-decent quarterstaff with a good crit range. Or any crit range at all for that matter.

So like how do thrown weapons work? I can ignore bows because my head canon is they just brought a lot of arrows in the case of a magus archer auto replenishing magic arrows but thrown weapons like a throwing axe, are they force pulling it back?

      >throw axe

Difficulty finding images for Pathfinder is that you need one big image out of which you make the smaller ones. You might find something good for medium sized but the full length will turn out odd looking and/or a blurry mess. Or the full length and medium will basically look the same.

      >You might find something good for medium sized but the full length will turn out odd looking and/or a blurry mess
At this point it's not a problem. Something like waifu2x can enlarge you image with a very acceptable quality.
I had more problems with cool detailed portraits that look like shit when reduced.

        >like shit when reduced
Yeah, that can happen, too. Like with this fella here. Even after adjusting things a bit it still looks odd.

You really shouldn't zoom out like this for the small portrait. Pay attention to what the small and medium portrait look like for your companions. It's almost a crop of just their face, sometimes even cutting off the chin and most of the hair.
