    I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for him. Not only he (and the team at Fromsoftware) make the best games in the industry. He also said in some interviews how he would frequently show sketches or explain ideas to others in the studio, then accept suggestions and talk frequently to anyone he works with, not just other co-directors or designers, to see if there's a better approach or way to do things or if a design for something works well in conveying certain emotions or messages.
    And he actually reached the top chasing his dreams, even when so late and already with a career path

        Roblox is rich as hell. Most devs are not, and the average person working in video games is not working in AAA studios and publishers, or even a project/game they would ever play outside of work. That's reality, kiddo.

        And a lot of work is outsourced to the Philippines, China, or South American countries or some other third-world shithole to do the bulk of testing, development for cheap.

    Western video game industry is full of publicly traded companies, pension fund share holders all risk averse cause they don't want hurt their portfolios to reduce in value.

    So they demand all games be made as inoffensive and woke as possible, as well as insanely over monetized in every way they can and as cheaply as they can.

    Japan has not managed to attract these kinds of investors yet, so Japanese video games are still being made to appeal to customers.

    This will not last, it's just a matter of time till the success of JP companies attracts the western investors and they ruin them too.

    This is inevitable and you should prepare for it to happen, soon. It's already happening with Sega and their latest game.

    In the west companies that make too much revenue have to pay higher taxes. Those taxes can be reduced by having more personel working on the company.
    Majority of AAA companies end up hiring people which no real job title just to keep them on a payroll to meet the quota to cut down taxes.
    Reason why you see these lay offs is because companies have not been profitable enough to get taxed out so theres no reason to keep them employed anymore
