'kino' is the word you use to praise games you're supposed to like but you can't think of anything enjoyable about them. Devil survivor doesn't qualify because the team-building, battles, and story are all excellent.

Not sure what boss rush you're talking about. The only ending which could fit the "true" bill doesn't have it IIRC, unless that's changed in Overclocked

NTA but probably the back to back Bel rush that you face right before fighting Babel directly.
...Or if he's a real casual, the loads of boss maps that you have to go through on the 7th day. I remember having a friend complain about going through the latter on his first playthrough, which I can understand the criticism for. I think tbh2 did a better job at pacing boss wise.
It's definitely the latter. I did Haru's ending first and didn't have the boss rush in Babel's second phase. I think I had it when playing Amane's route? Not sure. I only know for sure it was present when I played Naoya's after that (which was also my first time playing Overclocked)

Haven't played the game in years but having 100%ing it, that's the only ending where you don't have to go through the boss rush for balancing issues, since it would be overwhelming to fight all five of them with 0 demons.
There was no true ending for Devil Survivor, and no endings which where meant for new game+ either. Maybe you just suck.
There were endings with extended final scenes (eight day or some shit), multiples though for Law/Chaos
In Overclocked, yeah. But none of them are a true ending and none of them are so hard that you'd need to be on a new game+ to beat them.
The only NG+ content I remember was the Lucifer boss which is fricking brutal.

Shinjiro Takada got promoted to Studio Head of Atlus Production Studio 1 (Which makes everything besides Persona, Catherine, and Metaphor). The only thing he's directed since Overwienered and Break Record is the Etrian Odyssey HD Remake Trilogy. I'd say it's unlikely he'll ever direct a game again at this point.
So, no. The only thing I could recommend you do is play through the Langrisser and Growlanser series if you haven't already.
Atlus ported fricking Etrian Odyssey to PC and Switch so I'd like to think that their other 3/DS games can be ported too.
