Recommend me some detective games, Anon. I liked Ghost Trick, I think I'm burnt out on Ace Attorney, Danganronpa is too ridiculous for me, and Zero Escape disappointed me by peaking in the first game and getting worse with each subsequent title.
>Danganronpa is too ridiculous for me
I agree.
If it were the same premise but 12 relatively normal (or at least trying to be normal) people it would be fricking amazing. But then you have shit like the maid who's secretly the hegemonic ruler of the world or some shit.
Either is good.
For the former, Umineko is the bible but someone told me to read Caucasus if I get the chance
For the latter, Famicom Detective Club is reasonably interesting.
>When They Cry (look up the read order) >Kara no Shoujo >The Sekimeiya >Famicom Detective Club (on rails, but narratively solid) >LA Noire, but you have to enjoy the aesthetic
>Ai Somnium files 1+2, if you can handle weeb cringe (it's cringier even compared to Danganronpa)
I was ok with Dangan but that's about my limit. How much higher are we talking?
How much supernatural do you like in your Mysteries?
I thought that Until Dawn had the perfect amount of supernatural, but not enough mystery. Which is fine because it's a horror game.

L.A noire is good
I'll look into it.
The wife killed the guy case closed!
yeah it's memed a lot but it's pretty good.
What are you looking for? A mystery you're genuinely expected to solve or just a visual novel about a good mystery?
Either is good.

Thanks, Anon. I'll hop back in a bit later if the thread is still up to see if there are any other suggestions as well. I need to sleep.

Been playing Judgment is a fine yakuza game, but a pretty shit detective game. Still fun though. Frick mahjong.
Great Ace Attorney
Outer Wilds for a less conventional mystery but a fantastic game nonetheless
I started with Ace Attorney and am on my fourth case and it seems like the writers already ran out of ideas since they recycle the plot.
Raging Loop is better VN mystery than some already mentioned here, but take a big dump toward the end.
The ending makes the rest of the VN pointless. Like, you can seldom call it a true mystery.
I agree. It was a solid 9/10 for me until the final act. I felt so betrayed I didn't even bother doing the post game stuff
Is it as bad as the "twist" in Layton vs Wright?
where and what a "clitoris" is
I only just played picrel. Can't believe I didn't play it sooner.

Kara no shoujo
Hotel Dusk
Last Window
Please save yourself the headache and your brain cell, if you are about to play 999 just play the first one and ignore all the other games.
Who is this semen demon?
Mari from Banshee's Last Cry on Vita.
