Devil May Cry is the Capcom series that should be getting remakes, not Resident Evil. I'm saying this as a person who hates remake culture.

I'm 33, before anybody calls me a zoomer. I played this game religiously when the PS2 came out. This isn't a case of I've never touched it and I'm struggling to get into it. The game is dated at its core.

I'd play a DMC remake, but I'd rather take new games. We don't need to constantly be digging up the past trying to "fix" it. You can already play every PS2 DMC on every modern system available, just let old games be old, it's ok.

I think that Capcom should have established new younger team in charge of DMC years ago.
They spent years on the framework for current gen DMC only not to use it. Remake would be a good starting point, but it already should had happened by now. It's been so long now that the new game should be expected instead.
Dante's model confirmed he was working on something DMC related back in 2021, most of Division 1 is just busy with Dragon's Dogma 2 right now
There would be no point to most of those. Virtually all of DMC2's good ideas have already been brought forward to and expanded upon in 3, 4 and 5, the Switch version of DMC3 is already what you're proposing and most of DMC4's cutting room floor concepts made it into DMC5. I'm only open to the idea of a DMC1 remake because Kamiya floated the idea once before, "doesn't hold up" is incredibly arbitrary reasoning and doesn't actually mean anything.
Side note: I'm not convinced anyone who lumps DMC1 in with 2 has actually played both of them. They're a night and day difference in competence and basic functionality which is impossible not to notice if you play them back to back. Dante can't even fricking consistently walk in 2.

Played DMC1 for the first time in like a decade after playing 3, 4 and 5 and it held up perfectly fine. It shows its age in some regards but you'd have to be an absolute shit eating zoomer to not find any enjoyment in it.
DMC gameplay should be evolving with every game with cool new weapons or playable characters or whatever, kinda hard for a remake to do that.

I mean I wouldn't mean a remake of 1 and 4. And at least capcom can port the switch version of DMC 3(with style switching, co op with Vergil in BP, and the weapon wheel). Personally I would like a DMC 6 with Dante, Nero and Vergil before remakes. 1 remake: free camera for most of the games(except for some parts like the phantom chase), Sparda gets a more unique moveset, doesn't need two gun buttons(going off of type A lay out) a least replace it royal guard), add some more taunts, blood palace, and playable nelo. 4 remake would need a complete fricking overhaul: frick it give Nero and Dante actual Yamato movesets the are different from each other, instead of dark slayer style just giving Dante Yamato he gets tick and summon swords(cause he would already has Yamato as a devil arm), Dante gets some more unique levels(have Dante's levels be more wrapped/war torn versions of Nero's levels), remove dice, make blitz easier(or replace him with plasma cause I prefer plasma), add some order of the sword enemies for Dante's levels cause frick it after mission 1 it feels like only Credo, Angus, the fake pope, and Nero, and give Nero a fricking free ride with Red queen(I'm tried of cutscene in 4 and 5 teasing me). Going to rip off ff16 for some of the titan abilities(block and wind on d pad as additionals for Nero's buster arm). Have Nero change weapons the same way Dante did in 1, pressing down the analog stick. 3 remake: improve the wall running, have style switching and Irregular Full Custom Skill after beating normal, scrap the mission 19 blob Arkham and replace it with a Arkham how looks like a mutated version of Sparda(so your Angelo boss fight), have playable Vergil be a mix of 4se/5se(no doopleganger for Vergil that's Dante's thing in 3).
Improve wall running, get rid of the needing to do non lock on direction + pause for melee pause combos(so it's like every other game). Add taunts(have them be more dry and sarcastic)

Since Donte's gay ass face is on that pic I'm going to see if I can improve Tameme control scheme. Add lock on(and directional inputs replace the special move/launcher button which means adding back and back forward directionals), have B/circle be Royal guard/block. Add in the taunt button. Have directional inputs for the gun button(so back slide and gun stringer for the shotgun).
