turns out if you just are passionate and make a good game people will open themselves up to new experiences they wouldn't otherwise indulge in due to viewing the enjoyment experienced by the initial wave of customers that sought that niche out deliberately, creating a trend rather than shallowly aping it.

People will buy games that are 30-40 dollars. I think if this thing was 70 bucks it would have flopped hard. I also think people are in like herd mode where anything that becomes popular theyll just try because theyre bored AAA industry as we currently know it will probably collapse and be replaced by these smaller devs with 30 dollar games.

If you like Starship troopers and "haha, shoot aliens/robots in space" then you'll love it. It is designed like the old Halo games with Mario Party design rules, very good gameplay and downright silly weapons. If you don't have friends, then it'll get stale fast.
It’s certainly enhanced by friends hell even randoms can be entertaining but the experience solo is not nearly as grand. It’s a game designed from the ground up to be played with others.
