1. Locking progression behind completing the campaign, when the map is massive
2. Locking horse travel behind the campain
3. Low XP
4. Nerfing player damage because of open world PVP
5. The main Diablo team worked on this instead of the Diablo 3 Seasonal Team
6. The fricking nonstop shilling and praise during the beta
>Nerfing player damage because of open world PVP
I doubt this purely on the basis that they did everything in their power to make everything slower, all damage got nerfed at the same time they reduced xp across the entire game & made leaving dungeons take longer & reduced rewards. All of these things were designed to slow down how quickly people were reaching the end where there's literally nothing to do.
it's a farming game, you're just supposed to grind for gear the real problem comes is they try to make anti RMT systems and so they make items untradable which makes grinding for those cool 3 uniques and grinding to minmax personal legendaries mostly pointless
d2 was a treasure hunt to trade up
d3 is a loot shower
d4 is a rewardless grind
They made a season patch designed purely to satisfy their analytics team's demands for increased average playtime, which made the entire playerbase want to play less.
How could they possibly think that people need to play more? Is it because they knew they were never going to match current D3? That’s actually why I quit because I saw they kept making it harder and harder to get 100. Which basically means they have no updates planned,
>Why else would they increase the cast time of Town Portal
it's to prevent performance issues from teleporting from A to B. It's coded that poorly. Think of that cast time as a pseudo-loading screen.
its not a bad thing at all to make it super hard to hit max level unless everything is level scaled to the players level. It was fine in D2 to make lvl 99 super hard because areas had set levels so you could be "done" with a character at lvl 80 and kill anything in the game and get the same loot as a lvl 99.
I think D4 just did a lot of fundamental things wrong because the people designing it dont understand why people really like these games.
I mean you get the same loot in D4 at lvl 80 as you do at 100 too, so what's the difference really? You can push the arbitrary NM dungeon level higher when you're 100?
D3 was a huge letdown because once I make a character once, that's it. It's not like D2 where you'd have a flame sorc, ice and then a lightning one. Or bow vs jav Amazon etc. Building your own character was basically half the point of the game.
So I'm not even playing it until they release the offline only patch
I enjoyed completing the campaign.
.. and then you realize there's nothing there other than NM dungeons, where you're never even rewarded for completing something ten levels higher than you. The itemization was absolutely atrocious. Probably the worst I've ever seen for a game like this.
Killed any desire I had to play this game again. Frick even if they fixed it, it's too late. Don't care anymore.
I'm not downloading another shitty game launcher or marketplace. if it's not on steam or GOG I'm not interested. I'll see you in 4 years when the game has been completely fixed and it's selling on steam for 70% off.
I really love how you couldn't even look at the price of the game on their website unless You created a battle net account or whatever f*** that
Their gut instinct was to create a modern third-person action RPG and once again establish themselves as the kings of ARPGs with a brand new take on diablo, but that probably made their shareholders nervous. So they scrapped the idea and made a generic live service top-down Diablo game to appeal to nostalgiagays instead. Their heart just wasn't in it. Rehashing games for the sake of profits is the death of creativity.
Pretty much everyone who made Diablo 3 playable to its current state left blizzard long ago. Its insane. All they had to do its to copy Diablo 3, add some stuff and make the progression more flexible. Instead it feels they put a team full of morons that never touched an arpg before.
>there is no Diablo, the game flopped so hard I doubt Diablo appears on its own game >supposed mmo with less social features than the 12 yo predecesor >farming renown, per character >lilith statues hunt >level scaling makes the open world pointless because no area in the game feels different enough >Except for Rogue, all classes felt unfinished >No sets >horse controls like ass >legendaries dont have an unique look, you have to buy cosmetics for that, goy >no separate tabs for gems for some moronic reason, also gems ocuppy the same space as any other gear piece >Level progression halts to snail's pace once you hit level 50 because we cant have the goyim clear the battle pass in less than a couple of weeks. > no proceduraly generated dungeons, instead each dungeon is fixed and has objectives now, making each dungeon a boring chore. This is aggravated if you create mutiple characters per season. >Campaign bosses dont reapear once you clear the game. Instead you fight the same 3 or 4 generic bosses each dungeon >Tree of wispers is just a worst bounty system >resistances didn't work in season 1 >nerfs across the board in season 1

Sure it does, all it is is a change in perspective and control scheme. D4 was initially planned to be a Soulslike game but they were probably too incompetent to make it work or their shareholders rebelled.
>Was D3 good at launch or something?
Yeah it's an unpopular opinion but I enjoyed d3 at launch. All the server connection issues aside inferno was great and auction house was great. Remove those two things and I felt like there was nothing left to enjoy in diablo 3. And since it's an always online game now I can never go back and experience it again.
Diablo 3 vanilla was unplayable once you hit the last difficulty. You where supposed to use the in game p2w shop to progress. Also it had even less endgame that D4.
Diablo 3 is piss easy now and you are supposed to PL all the way to the endgame where the actual game occurs.
D3 was terrible with story sequence bloat where you spent half the time watching some unskippable in game cutscene and the other half 1 shotting a monster that does 0.5% of you HP ever 3 seconds for like 20 hours straight until you get to hell mode where suddenly everything kills you in 1 hit and takes 100 hits to die so you need 200iq builds to progress past act 1.
Oh, and not only that, defenses are also calculated based on the level of the monsters. This means that you are actually weaker the moment you level up and dont have better gear to equip.
so basically there's no incentive or reward to progress, and nothing to work on.
I used to love getting rekt by a boss and then going to level in dungeons for a while then coming back and fricking him up
I've played D3 since vanilla and like 7 years into the game something happened and it felt like a new skeleton crew took over and they just said "frick it" and went HAM on buffs, power creep and power fantasy. Never seen anything quite like it in gaming before or since. From essentially boring empty patch notes to every new patch suddenly having boatloads of buffs to all sort of items with "increased the damage from 50% to 2000%" etc. They even introduced new items and sets and every season upped the power creep and power fantasy to a new level. It was crazy. I'm not saying D3 is a perfect game but I loved those invisible devs that kept D3 alive with new shit even though they probably didn't have to and probably with less than a shoestrings budget.
1. no end game
2. chase items are boring/impossibly rare
3. nerfed the fun out of the game
4. everyone who made the game was temp/fired so they had no one left to do good seasonal content and are in a rush to hire people now
it was the ending of the game they fricked up so badly >choose to kill lilith instead of siding with her >both heaven and hell want you dead >she gave you life and sanctuary literally >you choose to put one of the most fricking dangerous demons in a fricking pokeball and give it to a asian NPC diversity hire >she fricks off on a boat obviously for the expansion >everything after this for "seasons" is shit tier bread crumbs until they drop the real content which will be the paid expansion
What they should of done is you side with Lilith and you go to war with both Heaven and Hell in both lands no fricks given. it would 1 give you a new perspective on what is good and evil which is why Inarius was killed by her and not accepted by Heaven. it would give you new lands to travel to like heaven and hell, it would turn sanctuary into a fricking warzone with both heaven and hell attacking you.
but no we get this shit, a inferior D2 with better graphics, just play POE until POE2 if you are a autist and this game is not enough for you which will be the majority of you longterm players, new players probably love this shit show
im so pissed with how dirty they done Lilith in this fricking game
I'm not reading your post, but I am going to say this:
Diablo is shit. The idea that "LOL ITS NOT EARTH ITS SANCTUARY! LOLOLOLOL! AND IT WAS MADE BY DEMONS LOL!" is the worst fricking writing that has ever been thought up. Frick Diablo and frick everyone who has ever played it.
>everything after this for "seasons" is shit tier bread crumbs until they drop the real content which will be the paid expansion
They already confirmed that they are working in Diablo V so dont expect anything even with expansions.
>They already confirmed that they are working in Diablo V so dont expect anything even with expansions.
Because instead of taking all the money they made and spending it rebuilding the game from scratch in order to maybe, if they're lucky, entice back a fraction of the audience so they can sell them $30 Expansions, it's much more economically viable to take the money and develop a new game that they can sell to ALL of their audience for $70 to $300.
>They already confirmed that they are working in Diablo V
are you referring to Mike YBarra saying "you won't have to wait long between titles"? Because that could be taken to mean expansions, not fresh launches.
They will make another overwatch 2 move, they will give you 3 or 4 more mediocre seasons meanwhile they take all the actual seasonal content from said seasons, as a little more and sell it back to you ad Diablo V and people will love it.
Hey, remember when I posted 5 years ago that Blizzard is going to make a mandatory-microtransaction shitfest where the endgame is literally just buying stuff from the cash shop, and then they went and did exactly that? You should remember it, because I told you (yes, you reading this) to screenshot it because you (yes, still you) were defending them and saying it was going to be great.
And then remember when you spend a month shitposting about the game because you spend $500 on the Deluxe Super Collector's Edition so you had to get as many people to play it with you as possible so you didn't feel like you wasted your money?
Diablo 4 has a lot of fricking problems, but the cash shop isn't one of them. It's so pathetic that a lot of the ingame armors look better than the shit they're selling for real money.
But that's literally the thing: Diablo 4 exists the way it does because it was meant to play identically to Diablo Immortal, up to and including mandatory cash-shop progression.
The problem is, Diablo Immortal didn't work and they had to strip all of their monetizing plans from the game and the result is that they have no actual content ready to go at all and the game plays like shit because it's built around you buying powerups, and without them it feels awful. Also, they decided to force you to buy their stuff anyway by making the battlepass auto-purchase when you click the page.
>game that is built entirely around D2's loot casino >the loot is bad >the casino is bad
1/2 of the game is fundamentally broken and it won't matter how much content they add until it feels good to pick up loot, look at it, and feel good when it's an upgrade.
that doesn't exist in D4 because of the affix bloat and limited number of affixes on loot.
also >shields give thorns but not armor
wtf were they thinking.
>damage vs. far enemies > damage vs. close enemies > damage vs chilled > damage vs slow > damage vs stunned >damage vs frozen
…
You are literally moronic if you like this
>These are good concepts because
no they're not. you already choose playstyles independent of them, at best you use these to compliment your existing playstyle. and then all you've done is lower the probability you roll a non-shit piece of gear. absolute cancer stats, anyone who defends them needs to get punched in the face until they no longer do.
> These are good concepts because they make you play in a certain way
Not really, even more in early game where you barely have some form of cc. Also it makes the itemization dull because after a while you stop reading the affixes, you just equip whatever has more dps in general because everthing is just damage anyway.
> These are good concepts because they make you play in a certain way
Not really, even more in early game where you barely have some form of cc. Also it makes the itemization dull because after a while you stop reading the affixes, you just equip whatever has more dps in general because everthing is just damage anyway.
That's just false, later on you don't equip damage vs far enemies on your barb even if the green arrow points up
>What potions?
I thought those were potion crafts. I think i have some of those affixes but it is damage reduction. i'd have to log back in and check my day 1, lvl100 fembarb (exploited) and see what she has equipped.
Frick potions.
I think i have some good ones from those HT chests, the ones with like +900 armor that can't be crafted iirc.
Long story short:
1. Itemization is pretty shit / lackluster / boring and doesn't advance sufficiently as you level up. It's fine in the early game but you barely get anything more impactful or interesting later on.
2. Inventory management is really bad. You may think this doesn't matter much, but it really wears on you as you keep playing. Legendary items do not have unique icons and neither do the legendary aspects on them which you can extract. You cannot find the one you want unless you mouse over each one and read the popup. Fricking awful and extremely tedious.
>Inventory management is really bad. You may think this doesn't matter much, but it really wears on you as you keep playing.
This is what ruined it as even a basic b***h couch co op game. It gets to the point where you're just selling & grinding everything down both because digging through the loot is pointless because it always sucks / there's basically one good effect you just reuse over & over & it’s so rare that you get anything better than what you have. So you're basically playing just for the sake of playing & after a certain level there’s no progression because of the loot being shit & experimenting is so fricking costly.
I swear if I didn't know any better I'd say they intentionally designed the game to be a self defeating piece of shit, how could they frick it up this bad.
That's because 99.4% of the players are too stupid to follow in the footsteps of people who came before them. It's literally 45 minutes to hit 50, and the next 50 take around 20-26 hours of actual gameplay in the same dungeon. The XP is too fast by a huge margin.
>never played a MMO
yes i did, in fact. thousands upon thousands of hours clocked. nothing to be proud of.
D IIII tried to be an MMO and it's worse than Lost Ark.
I played to lvl 91 then I couldn't take it anymore. Logged in during the bonus exp event, did a nm and after I finished it I saw that the exp bar had filled only half of one of those exp bars and then I just logged out. The thought of doing 100+ more nm dungeons to get lvl 100 made me physically ill. The classes are so fricking boring and builds lack flair and excitement. Can't they just release Pala already I want to play a white blonde male platemail clad holy warrior smiting enemies with holy attacks.
I didn't log in during bonus XP, because it was already too fast.
did you maybe consider than perhaps not everyone might want to grind one dungeon for 25 hours straight
>hours of actual gameplay in the same dungeon
not eveyrone is going to follow your streamers google doc sheet and run derpamine tunnels.

I can't believe I was hyped for the game at one point. I played the beta and was like "oh..............." and uninstalled that shit faster than my own shadow.
Blizzard took all the wrong lessons from their success. They turned everything into a data point and tried to min/Max optimal game design to the point where they now create the equivalent of video game McDonald's.

The frick would that accomplish? D3 is trash.
Diablo 3 is a godsent compared to this trash. I know, bold statement, but its true, people where more hyped for season 29 of D3 than D4 season 1.
I'd rather have them try something new instead of copy-pasting their old shit. I'm so done with click to move ARPGs that all play the same.
Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls is great. You are just stuck in 2012 when vanilla Diablo 3 came out
That's the funny thing about diablo 4, it is so bad that by comparison diablo 3 is looking good. They fricked up THAT hard.

They will make another overwatch 2 move, they will give you 3 or 4 more mediocre seasons meanwhile they take all the actual seasonal content from said seasons, as a little more and sell it back to you ad Diablo V and people will love it.
>inferior D2 with better graphics
on a related note honestly the Diablo II remaster looks better then IV
am I a moron for not knowing D2 remaster existed until I saw this post?
oh well, it's good to know and it does explain the state of my life
Hey, remember when I posted 5 years ago that Blizzard is going to make a mandatory-microtransaction shitfest where the endgame is literally just buying stuff from the cash shop, and then they went and did exactly that? You should remember it, because I told you (yes, you reading this) to screenshot it because you (yes, still you) were defending them and saying it was going to be great.
And then remember when you spend a month shitposting about the game because you spend $500 on the Deluxe Super Collector's Edition so you had to get as many people to play it with you as possible so you didn't feel like you wasted your money?
I remember all of that.
Cry some more
Diablo 4 has a lot of fricking problems, but the cash shop isn't one of them.
Also, they decided to force you to buy their stuff anyway by making the battlepass auto-purchase when you click the page.
>game that is built entirely around D2's loot casino
>the loot is bad
>the casino is bad
1/2 of the game is fundamentally broken and it won't matter how much content they add until it feels good to pick up loot, look at it, and feel good when it's an upgrade.
that doesn't exist in D4 because of the affix bloat and limited number of affixes on loot.
also
>shields give thorns but not armor
wtf were they thinking.
>D4
>affix bloat
lol
>implying lucky hit shit isn't moronic and not bloat
>damage vs. far enemies
> damage vs. close enemies
> damage vs chilled
> damage vs slow
> damage vs stunned
>damage vs frozen
…
You are literally moronic if you like this
These are good concepts because they make you play in a certain way, leveraging cc skills and mobility to get optimal damage
That is, until you unlock the node that says "your attacks chill" and gameplay becomes braindead again
Also it makes the itemization dull because after a while you stop reading the affixes, you just equip whatever has more dps in general because everthing is just damage anyway.
can you craft those potions?
What potions?
That's just false, later on you don't equip damage vs far enemies on your barb even if the green arrow points up
>What potions?
I thought those were potion crafts. I think i have some of those affixes but it is damage reduction. i'd have to log back in and check my day 1, lvl100 fembarb (exploited) and see what she has equipped.
I think i have some good ones from those HT chests, the ones with like +900 armor that can't be crafted iirc.
Frick potions.

I swear if I didn't know any better I'd say they intentionally designed the game to be a self defeating piece of shit, how could they frick it up this bad.
>thinks he's smarter than Elon Musk
elon lives and breathes trolling
>ketamine cuck living on parents apartheit emerald money
Why do morons worship a drug addled nepobaby?
>Great game, one that is remarkably complex in interesting ways at max difficulty
I spends millions getting movement speed on boots(season). so, they really really did want to slow players down to MMO style playtime?
WTF...
Yes. They nerfed all builds regardless of viability and nerfed all sources of XP purely to slow people's roll through the game.
>t. never played a MMO
Muh slow XP. It takes 3-4 days to hit 100. Gitgud.
>It takes 3-4 days to hit 100
not for 99.9% of players, this is irrelevant.
That's because 99.4% of the players are too stupid to follow in the footsteps of people who came before them. It's literally 45 minutes to hit 50, and the next 50 take around 20-26 hours of actual gameplay in the same dungeon. The XP is too fast by a huge margin.
did you maybe consider than perhaps not everyone might want to grind one dungeon for 25 hours straight
>hours of actual gameplay in the same dungeon
not eveyrone is going to follow your streamers google doc sheet and run derpamine tunnels.
>never played a MMO
yes i did, in fact. thousands upon thousands of hours clocked. nothing to be proud of.
D IIII tried to be an MMO and it's worse than Lost Ark.
It takes less that two hours to hit lvl 70 on d3.
And I got bored before that.
I didn't log in during bonus XP, because it was already too fast.
There's japanslop for them.
>There's japanslop for them
does that game have working resists and a barb that can use a shield?
I don't know. I don't play games made by people who can't pronounce the letter L.
I wonder if that game scans and loads everyone's inventory like diablo 4.
jej
Probably, because your only 2 items are a 40 foot sword and armor made out of zippers and belts.
not sure what the heck you're talking about, i roll fembarb and femnec in diablo iv.
now, let's talk about how your streamer quit D4.
I missed out on the streamer craze. I spent 13 years off planet.
you missed EPIC lulz.
the lead dev shitted on stream in a streamers face
https://webmshare.com/play/Kb16V
> And I got bored before that
>implying you has more fun in d4
Moving the goalpost already,shill?
>400+ hours in D4
>single digits in D3
I'm not implying anything.
Not clicking. I missed the streamer craze.
>I missed the streamer craze.
no you didn't.
that is why you run one dung for hours and hours.
I did that in EQ before there was a such thing as streamers. We worked 30 hours shifts keeping all other guilds off the Plane of Fear for over a month.
no you didn't.
Zoom zoom.
what does that mean? is this some current trendy lingo you learned while not reading and watching your streamer google docs and twitch channel?
I ain't clicking that shit N-w0rd with the double g's
let that sink in
you can say Black person here anon
Stop being transphobic.
It means you're a child and didn't experience multiplayer games when they were good, complete with people spamming the Thomas the Tank Engine theme song in shout while training attempted coups.
no it doesn't.
either dumb marketing bean counters or morons who don't even realize what's happening while they're playing a game
Last Epoch is so much fricking better than this dogshit it's actually insane
The skill customization system in Last Epoch is actually pretty rad, it should be a new standard for the genre.
it seems good on paper but most of their skills end up being kind of dogshit and needing to level each up to 20 sucks
there is literally no good single ARPG on the market atm. closest is poe2 which wont be out for another 2 years
They put evade on a cooldown.
>How
Blizzard
Bow before D2s superior endgame where hitting max level took forever but no one cared because there was no level scaling.
Bow before D2 for having a static world and being better despite endgame being killing mephisto 1000 times
get on your knees d3/4 babs
D2 was meh.
Lilith herself is barely in the game, they pulled a Dimitrescu with it.
game was super mid but i remember that first patch they released before the season where they literally nerfed everything.
that's when i knew it was over.
>we won't do that again
yeah i remember that one, it was a push to get everyone to the first season and it blew up in their faces very bad
Video Games aren't for gamers anymore.
It's for this guy to launder money.
to launder money and collapse western civilization and usher in a globalist technocracy*
sorry I forgot to add this
