Do I buy this? Seems legit.
Don't know if you need it as a warrior, but that looks pretty good for a Wirt find. 14k gold isn't that much by the end-later game, you should be finding 25k magic staves to sell to Adria fairly often by now.
Magic just increases your mana. It could be somewhat useful if you have the mana shield spell for some extra HP.
+Magic is mainly useful for learning higher level spells. You can leave a bunch of equipment on the ground for that purpose when you need it. I'm pretty sure +mana is the better modifier on rings, it becomes very useful when you want to do an extra stone curse or teleport.
Love the first two Diablo games
You have quite a treasure there in that Horadric Cube.
that robe is too small for you
how do i get past the level 14 homies
gris or this other shit
Gris looks better unless you are trying to do a lot of spellcasting.
Gris has knock back which can be annoying, but it also has a faster attack rate and gives you significantly more accuracy.
This or gris edge?
Is this a joke? King's Sword without a doubt.
Grisworlds will only get more and more outdamaged as you keep playing. But until it becomes totally obsolete, it's still useful for knockback vs. certain enemies. Like the death knights in hell, it's good vs. them.
Did you take the detour to the Hive & Crypt yet? You have to talk to the guy by the cows to start it.
I did not. I'm going to go talk to him, I forgot about that lil homie
diabo 2 sucked
i always wanted to play it but never had the chance. what was wrong with it?
Bit of a different tone, and plays a LOT faster.
Its still one of the best ARPGs ever, but people are still ass ravaged that it doesn't play exactly like D1 to this day.
Both are worth playing. Just go and pirate it.
Nothing is wrong with it. Just play it yourself and have fun
great game. shit expansion. i suggest playing without it, also install the devilutionx mod from github. it has quality of life improvements, and some extra shit but it's all optional if you're a purist like me.
I finished Hell Sorcerer starting from level 1, but Warrior and Rogue have too low a hit chance to hit anything at level 1. Kind of a bummer.
Warrior and Rogue can hit stuff on Nightmare, so maybe I'll clear level 1, save, and switch to Hell?
The Hell Sorcerer run was pretty fun.
o lawd she comin
what is this? doesn't look like D1...
Expansion-only level.
it's NOT worth it, but the bug level does look very nice.
the voice acting and writing of the boss babe was good
Some of the enemy designs are great, some look like fanmade assets. I like the crypt environment.
it's optional content added in hellfire I think. quest from the farmer
how many hours does it add and is it worth it?
Hellfire is mad jank, its not made by Blizzard North. I'd only ever recommend it if you've already played D1 and you want more or something different. Only other reason I'd ever recommend it is for any fan mods that require it. There are a LOT of awesome mods for D1 well worth playing.
Max Dex
Level Magic to use Town Portal and Stone
Rest into vit/str
But really Turn to Stone or whatever it's called in Diablo 1 is basically essential for solo warrior imo
>But really Turn to Stone or whatever it's called in Diablo 1 is basically essential for solo warrior imo
Never once used it playing Warrior. But a good knockback sword can clear the entire game. Trapping bosses on a wall and getting them stuck in chain stuns due to the knockback makes things ezpz.
Stone Course freezes thtise damn succubi in place so you can walk up and smack them without them running away to shoot more fireballs. Knockback is good on melee monsters but not on those
Yeah I read that you can use teleport to catch the succubi and advocates but to me it was simpler to use stone curse. And completely essential lol.
Damn it now I have to play this again. Once i'm in the D1 mood I keep going until i've finished hell with at least 2 of the classes. Do warrior first every time. It's a coin-toss between the 2nd one being rogue or sorcerer. Depends on how i'm feeling about hell difficulty, it's harder with the rogue.
>hear people shit on Median XL
>they never give a reason beyond whiny shit like "it clashes with the artstyle/atmosphere of the original game" or some shit
>start playing it
>having a great deal of fun with the new skill trees and the magic-oriented paladin
>get to act 3, collect all the stuff for the flail
>make flail, smash orb, open path
>can't travel using it
>check quest log
>still says I need to kill the rest of the high council(trivencal is empty), and still need to smash the orb
>save and exit, come back in
>flail is gone, orb un-smashed
I wish people would say it's a buggy and broken mess instead of just whining about the artwork of the added monsters. Instead people make it sound like it might actually be good if you aren't autistic about "muh creators original intent".
>warrior
>first playthrough
Wait until you get filtered in level 16
I'm pwnz0ring level 16s little booty hole
(I'm running to town to restock on mana potions to fuel stone curse, but still)
I pulled the lever on 16. Where the FRICK is big D?
Here's Diablo's gameplay loop: *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* Uh oh! I can't pick an item up. Gotta run to town and sell this junk. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum. They should've named this game DungeonClick. Furthermore, it's just a 90s reskin of Telengard with the difficulty dialed down to 1. Sorry to piss on your cornflakes but this needed to be said; this mediocre dungeon crawler has been massively hyped for a quarter century.
And it will continue to be massively hyped while you jerk off with your tears because deep down you know your opinions are shit
Hey, if you enjoy it, go nuts; I could care less how you spend your time. I just don't understand the appeal, it's so mindless.
>Here's Diablo's gameplay loop:
physical input method has nothing to do with gameplay. you're off to a bad start.
>*click* *click* *click*
what's your favorite console game? tell me so i can call it *press* *press* *press*
>Uh oh! I can't pick an item up. Gotta run to town and sell this junk
now here's where you went really wrong: it was your choice to be moronic. nobody is forcing you to pick up worthless items and portal to town every 5 minutes. you can easily clear act 1 without ever returning except for quests and not miss anything of value. literally git gud.
>Rinse and repeat ad nauseum.
yeah, nah. there's combat, crafting, dueling, trading, chatting, ganking and listening to NPCs with soothing voices tell you about interesting things. that's to say nothing of the meta created by players, doing shit like droptrading torches near akara's stone wall, or playing gambling games with the trading screen, let alone hardcore griefing hijinks. this is all aside from deep character building mechanics, monster drop tables, crafting tables and item modifiers that absorb post-game time to even begin to understand. D2 is one of the deepest games ever made and has interactions far beyond the killing, looting and selling that you pretend it is. i know you won't actually relate to or understand anything i just said because you haven't even played the game and you're just being a homosexual, but do know that you are incredibly wrong and stupid. D2 is fricking awesome.
>physical input method has nothing to do with gameplay
The gameplay consists of pointing the cursor on stuff and clicking until it dies. If it had more tactical depth it wouldn't be a clickfest because that would necessitate a more keyboard driven scheme.
>what's your favorite console game?
I don't play console games but nice strawman.
>literally git gud
I'd rather spend my time playing something gud.
>D2 is one of the deepest games ever made
I'm talking about Diablo (topic of this thread), not Diablo 2 which I've never played because I always assumed it was more of the same.
>The gameplay consists of pointing the cursor on stuff and clicking until it dies
no, the gameplay consists of everything i just listed, and basically all of it goes for D1 as well.
>more tactical depth
like what? being able to fully customize your character with armor, stats and skills while also taking into account enemy properties, positioning and consumable use isn't "tactical" enough for you?
>a more keyboard driven scheme.
this moron selected every item and skill manually, what the frick. you know there are keyboard shortcuts for everything, right?
>which I've never played
exactly
>being able to fully customize your character
Oooh, like giving them a fully customized NAME?
>this moron selected every item and skill manually, what the frick
Did I say that? Again with the strawmen.
>exactly
Why would I play a sequel to a game I don't like? Especially when that game is a shallow imitation of other, better games.
>Oooh, like giving them a fully customized NAME?
why are you purposely being moronic? what can you not customize that is so important to you? are you mad that you can't dye your clothes purple like a lesbian woman on WoW?
>Did I say that?
yes you did. you said the game wasn't keyboard centric enough, when almost all actions have hotkeys. you are fricking moronic bro.
Why would I play a sequel to a game I don't like? Especially when that game is a shallow imitation of other, better games.
you didn't play either one to begin with. oh yeah, and diablo is not a "reskin" of this piece of fricking dogshit
I'm not going to waste any more effort arguing with a 12 year old. Btw, the Diablo devs cited Telengard as an influence, and the similarity would be obvious to you if you'd ever played it.
>12 year old
if a 12 year old could figure out that a PC game has hotkeys and you couldn't, then i repeat, you are fricking moronic.
>Btw, the Diablo devs cited Telengard as an influence
prove it. doesn't matter anyway since "influence" doesn't equate to ripping off or reskinning. the technological limitations of telengard alone prohibit diablo from being a "reskin". just go to bed homosexual.
Diablo is almost entirely mouse driven. No shit it has hotkeys; most games do, so anybody who is even remotely familiar with PC gaming is instinctively going to try to figure out the keybindings. In the case of Diablo there are very few because 90% of the players actions consist of left-clicking either to attack or interact with objects, and another 5% of right clicking to cast spells.
>prove it.
Look it up yourself you lazy ass.
> just go to bed homosexual
Why don't you before your mom grounds you for being out of bed on a school night?
>argues with the 12 year old he said he would no longer argue with
lmao
>abloo bloo poo poo muh clicks
it's a PC game. you're complaining about having to click a button in a PC game. a PC game with keyboard hotkeys. you are stupid and wrong.
>Look it up yourself you lazy ass.
see? you're full of shit. your belly is veritably swelling with diarrhea as we speak.
Can devilutionx run on SNES FX
Diablo seems much too simple for me to spend more than a couple hours on it. It's like a flash game with pretty graphics and classical guitar
>I will call this beloved influential classic game that released close to 30 years ago dogshit
>I was born after 9/11 but that has nothing to do with any of this
i'm upset that you got people to reply to you
the perils of such passion and autism
OK I found diablo with 100 million of his homies... frick this shit
