World is extremely diverse and the main narrative has you take a back seat to doing anything so powerful women of color can have the spotlight.
The Prologue sequence of the game is neat, some good cinematic story ideas, but its obvious they frontloaded the game with it for good impressions as the quality falls off a cliff immediately after and turns into your regular marvel tier slop you can expect from any Blizz product these days.
Just play the upcoming beta and see for yourself.

The first two games got away with mild nudity because the nude characters in question were blurry low resolution sprites. You can't pull that trick when the characters are highly detailed 3D models meant to be viewed on 4k monitors.

From what I played of the beta they weren't afraid of massacring women and elderly in churches + all your companions were men so seems fine/10
You forgot the daughter/teenage girl that runs around with you for the portion of Act 1 and likely has something to do with the game's overall story.

I don't remember her at all, then again i only got to lvl 20 for the cosmetic and stopped playing since I generally don't like betas because your progress doesn't matter or carry over
She's the the daughter of the girl you find dead, revive, and then kill again. The she follows you around. The one that based Vigo doesn't want tagging along into the mines. IDK how you forgot about her. She's in every main quest in act 1.

The thing about the Diablo series is that it has canonically black characters. This will unironically make people on this board scream "woke" or whatever and hate it.
Furthermore, it also has strong female characters filling in protagonist and antagonist roles. Further codifying it being woke.
That being said - it is unironically a fun game and the one that I am personally hyped for. Has some darker, horror elements similar to Diablo 1/2 in terms of gore but no nudity like the first two games.
Also, the characters around the campfire at character creation are randomized so there is a screenshot of them all being black that is being circulated as it being pozzed.
I kind of wish you could make an attractive female character but on retail i'll be playing a guy so it doesn't matter that much
Coincidentally the black sorceress with dread up-do is actually gorgeous.
I ended up making a redhead sorceress with a ponytail because it was the closest I could get to classic sword and sorcery, there's lots of options for making a rugged or outcast character but very few for making an attractive one which is kind of a shame

Lost Ark has the worst early/mid-game of any ARPG with the only highlights being certain scripted boss fights, everything else forces you down 1990's korean mmo quest design
Even if they turned 300 rat asses into 3 rat asses doing the same 5 quests on repeat with almost no build diversity or early loot drops that affect your gameplay really hamstrings it, koreans are fine at designing systems but suck at making games fun

I made 6 characters in the 2 beta weekends (5 level 25 and 1 25 hardcore) - it is randomized. Got all white, all black, and mixed.
Oh, I don't doubt it, just saying I believe the main reason it caught on was it being more common than people realized. I never went back to make more than 1 character so the only anecdote I have is on initial launch of the game.

Even with the still shitty story elements, (magical rebellious girl who can frick everything up) forced semi cinematic pacing shit and the overwhelming amount of mmo sidequest busywork shit I quite enjoyed the combat. Kept me on my toes somewhat and movement felt fun. Barb Kick felt based. Looking forward to the game, cant be worse than diablo 3.

I'd rather have 1 quest--kill Mephisto than a kill Mephisto quest with 2,000 herb collection and material collection quests on the way. You don't see a problem with the latter because you're a MMO addict. That shit is distracting and detracts greatly from the experience to me.
I would be fine for there to be tutorial quests on gathering crafting materials but its very true that arbitrarily collecting 10 random bear asses instead of just figuring out what mats you need to craft whatever item yourself fricking sucks and has always sucked

There were a billion of them in the open beta. What are you talking about? One of the first quests is to gather herbs to upgrade your potion belt.
There's mats in the open world. The quest tasks you with upping your potion. I had well over the required just playing the game and they can drop from enemies.
