Being a slave to algorithms designed to eat up your time in order to get you invested in the game and buy advantages is for b***hes. And before you go running your mouth about how they won't do something like that, recall what happened with the Diablo 3 launch. The RMAH was a fricking disaster. They got rid of it but they didn't discard their fricking greed. They just found a new golden goose that can milk homosexuals like you called a Battle Pass.
I won't defend them, they'll probably do something like that. If they do I'll just stop playing like I did with D3, I'll never resort to cheating because cheating is for b***hes.

Cheating can breathe new life into a game and turn something that used to be intolerable into something enjoyable. If a game stops being fun because you're cheating it's because the game was always designed poorly.

You can cheat all you want in singleplayer games and nobody will care. Once you start doing it in online games it becomes a problem and you'll be one of the most pathetic b***hes in the game.

That's literally why I stipulated that I wanted the game to be offline. Offline = singleplayer. I don't condone cheating in online games because the whole point of online games is either legitimate cooperation or legitimate competition.

The problem with offline modes is that a cheating b***hes might turn on their internet and play with other people on their edited character. It's safer to have authoritative servers watching over everything.

>The problem with offline modes is that a cheating b***hes might turn on their internet and play with other people on their edited character
This potential issue was completely fricking solved by Blizzard in Diablo 2 you fricking dumbass. Server based characters for online mode only. Local based characters for offline mode only. I'm not insisting that they game shouldn't have an online mode. But you shouldn't be acting like it's impossible to keep them separate when it's a braindead simple solution.

What's stopping a cheater from changing his local character to a server character? Nothing, you can do anything offline with clever scripts. Authoritative servers watching over everything is the only proven solution to combat cheating, never trust the client.

His local character is not stored on Blizzard servers. It's stored on his own PC. Blizzard servers don't allow people to transfer local characters to their servers.

>If a game stops being fun because you're cheating it's because the game was always designed poorly
You made a statement and I called it out. Your statement was clear as day as was me calling it out. You immediately began twisting the discussion into something completely different.
Anyway, I don't play games I know I don't like. For instance, fight games. I don't like them, therefore I don't play them. If I play a game and it turns out I don't enjoy it, I stop playing. I don't start cheating, that doesn't suddenly make it fun.

You expressed that you didn't understand so I clarified. I admit that I could have expressed myself better. I didn't consider I was going to be talking to autists. My mistake.
I've played a ton of games. Most of them I like. Some that I don't. In almost all instances of playing games I didn't enjoy, cheating in them improved my experience. Where I would have simply dropped the game (just like you) I was able to squeeze blood from a stone and at least enjoy it for a little bit. I noticed that games that are truly irredeemable cannot even retain my interest even when I bypassing the mechanics that are turning it into a slog. THOSE games are designed poorly because the game is bad no matter what the mechanics are.

>You expressed that you didn't understand so I clarified
No, I didn't. You said I misunderstood so I gave you the opportunity to clarify. I fully understood what you said. What I find amusing is how you claim if a game stops being fun if you cheat, the game was poorly designed. Meanwhile, at the same time, you say that a bad game can be even slightly enjoyable if you cheat. That is a poorly designed game, not the other way around.

You're still expressing that you don't understand like you have no familiarity with cheating. You're not familiar with how a game's experience can be changed by cheating. The example you brought up with god mode in Doom but you neglected to bring up any of the other included cheats in the game. God mode removes all challenge, but what about simply giving yourself all the weapons? What about infinite ammo? Is the game still without challenge even though you've bypassed one of the less critical mechanics?
Let me rephrase my point to something you might be able to digest because you're getting hung up on semantics: The mark of a good game is one that is still fun despite cheating.

>all the weapons >infinite ammo
Removing the resource management from Doom would be catastrophic. Not having to work your way up the weapon hierarchy means you'll never truly learn how to fight every monster and every monster combination with all weapons. Long story short, it removes the fun from the game. There's a reason Pistol Starting in FPS games is so popular.

The point was to illustrate the difference of degrees in cheating. There's numerous ways to cheat without destroying the game. You're taking the absurd stance that any advantage is over the line to which I would reply that your knowledge of the game beyond a first playthrough constitutes cheating because you're not going in blind anymore. If you want to split hairs to that degree I'm more than willing to accuse you of cheating for remembering where enemies and items are like you've got a map of it all in your head; functionally no different from looking up a guide.

D4 wouldn't really work offline because they're designing the game from the ground up with larger scale multiplayer in mind. They got world events and world bosses that require many people, they have large stretches of land that are dedicated pvp zones. The map is huge with tons of enemies everywhere, designed for multiple people to be in any given area. You couldn't have this if they made the game for both offline and online play, they were forced to choose and they chose multiplayer.
>No trade no buy
I was originally a bit miffed at this, then I remembered the cancer that was PoE and I'm all good again. I want fun skilled gameplay, not being forced to play trade simulator to get ahead.
I wish I could be excited for it, but seriously, how could you be given d3, mobile diablo, the whole state of blizzard, etc.? It's only going to be "lit" in the way that burning trash is
>D2 you were set to whatever gender they gave you >D3 let's you choose between male and female
Have they talked if they'll allow other genders/sexes in D4? It's revolting that games keep getting more and more advanced but they still do the old male/female thing.
It's been known since reveal that every class has male and female options + customization (face, hair, hair color, skin color, tattoos, accessories, etc)
Still waiting for the multiplayer update. I'll be there then.

A darker and more coherent atmosphere (As in, not more of the same Korean half-fantasy half-sci-fi fever dream shit that every single Korean game has going on), an endgame that is going to be more straightforward and not layered needlessly as Korean games tend to do, and a more blatant and obvious western monetization scheme with fewer traps as a result of not having as many said layers to everything. (Multiple currencies, 7-8 different systems to achieve what you could achieve in just one or two, etc.)
Ultimately, you're right, there isn't a vast variety of things that D4 would offer that Lost Ark won't, but the main thing is that it won't have the typical Korean game bloat to it, even aesthetically, because western games tend to be far more simplified in presentation. Which, after having played several Korean games, I'd come to appreciate more.

Well its being ported to PS4 and Xbox One so 100% they are aware of each accounts hardware being used and are definitely selecting a wide spectrum of players for consoles and PC from low to high end. Their words were a "large but limited wave of invites are being sent to recently active players of Diablo 2:Resurrected, Diablo 3 and Diablo:Immortal" outside of the selected people, no one else knows the dates for it to begin either.
Hypothetically if "someone"(*wink wink*) was selected anon, that person would be a fool to miss out on it getting to be among a privileged number to play post campaign Diablo 4 for a set amount of time in total secrecy and actually test it with the devs and other players on closed servers. I think closed beta testers usually get bonuses like free unique swag sent to their home address and internal positive references for future beta's and special/notable players get inclusions as easter eggs into games as can be seen in Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. At least the latter about swag and references is what happened to my friend in WoW for four seperate expansion beta's he got selected for resulted in lots of free stuff including two statues and even two mentions about his character in WoW lore.
