Aside from WoW this isn't really the problem with any of their games. The consistent issue is the depredation of service over time in games that refuse to let you play them your own way. Warcraft 3 is only barely back to where it started before Reforged years later, but now players can't play LAN and have to deal with filesize bloat. Hearthstone got rid of most of the rulesets people actually liked. HotS was hostile to free players and was dropped outright. Overwatch is a mockery of its former self.
If these same games WEREN'T forced to become worse, people would play them.

Infinite is absolute trash and everyone at 343 should be taken behind a shed and shot but the simple fact that the dev team were allowed to add a fully featured map editor and custom game browser to this dying game even though it wouldn't provide any immediate revenue implies that Microsoft is marginally more benevolent than ActiBlizz's current management. Sea of Thieves, Flight Sim, and Grounded are doing okay, so I'm hopeful that Microsoft would be a better steward for Blizzard's titles as well. Of course, that relies on Microsoft gutting Blizzard's current leadership and not leaving the idiots to turn it into another 343, which I'm less hopeful about.

Yes, console version is superior because of this. No more bullshit disconnects that put you back at main menu in the middle of a rift run, no more auto kick for afk idling, can pause game whenever you want wherever you want etc.
Console also has fun stuff too like "Primal Recipes". Basically the rolls are static in console and if you start a new character you can guarantee Primal drops by doing certain actions.

It was initially a decently solid game for like the first 30 levels prior to this update, especially if you had frens to run dungeons with. Shit gets repetitive quick though and there's a disturbing lack of late game content. Blizzard did that on purpose in order to push their "seasons" monetization scheme, but it backfired and player count dropped off too quickly. Blizzard's corporate dogs probably forced the devs to nerf everything in order to slow down leveling and retain players longer so that they buy Season 1 or more cash shop skins, but now the game is so tedious that it isn't even worth booting up.
sure they are always for your class, that's great, however, its very rote, if you want to use an ability, you need the ONE legendary effect that boosts that ability, and it can get slapped on basically anything.
if your ability is just "okay" and its legendary item boost is shit, the move is shit, nothing can be done, upping the percentage doesn't matter if the move is inherently shit.
this combined with the "You WILL use one of these 4 basic abilites, one of which is clearly better than the other 3, and you WILL use one of these 4 Core abilites, and 2 of them are better than the other 2 and you WILL choose this exact upgrade option of the 2 listed because its superior in every way, and then you WILL use this defensive ability because its better than the rest inherently, and then you WILL use this Ultimate and this final Passive because they are better than the rest.
this is the problem, doing basic napkin math solves how you should build, why should I EVER fricking use Double Swing or Upheavel on Barbarian? why does these moves even EXIST?

I keep forgetting Diablo 4 is even out. It's such a big name but it seems to have come and gone like the wind, i don't hear anyone talking about it.
I liked the DS3 PS3 version specifically quite a bit because the changes they had to make made it closer to an action game than the worthless auto pilot spam fest i see in PC videos. It's the only Diablo game I've played. Shame the version got short changed on content. I think D3 has some of the best feedback i have seen in a video game, is D4 the same? The little footage i have seen of the game makes it look really bland, hard to even make out the details in anything.

Character levels mean skill and paragon points, as well as equipment prerequisites. Enemy level scaling with you means you're not stuck with areas of the game where you won't be able to grind. Every place in the game is viable.

I've only played the barb so not sure.
Rend DoT is op and if you build right then you can sail through 1-60. But yes certain classes I suspect are pigeonholed into certain builds. I think the joy is still being good from 25-50, perhaps doing whisper tree qs, and orb farming for curiosities--get those legendaries faster and sooner

Best way is to just test it out (maybe not in HC) but you know it takes some time. I went from rend 1-35 then switched midway into a WW build with what I had collected. So I don't believe every skill is useless perse, but yah in the endgame there are certain builds that are just better. But what I am arguing about is the journey of how you got there, for whatever that is worth. I hate being a fanboy of anything but the devs will make these viable later one, in base game changes or seasons

I figured that out within 5 minutes. It's so it mostly doesn't matter in which order you visit an area or do a quest. It also means you can party up with your friend who is 20 levels behind and both have fun without feeling like the enemies are too strong/weak.

D4 HC is the only way to play this game. Doing it for seasonal and actually having fun. It really takes planning, preparation, and game knowledge to come out unscathed. I actually am worried though about the PvP. Will probably avoid those areas

i have still no idea what people are actually mad about. i did not have the experience of "feeling weaker" and having "build ruined" when i logged in. the big ones were the cooldown, crit and vuln, but was there something i missed? i keep hearing people talk how everything was ruined but i never see examples exactly how. are some people at least 5 nm tiers weaker?
Damage got gutted to the tune of 50% or more for every build in the game except one or two. Armor is 30% weaker across the board. Additional targeted nerfs basically removed sorc and Barb from the game.
If you're not feeling the changes you're too low level or not doing the content it matters in. I went from dealing 2 mill a hit to 300k. Dungeons take forever to fricking clear now.
The rebalance is designed to make you fall off exponentially. AKA, you get far enough to get hooked and don't feel it until it tempts you to buy the season pass boost.

The tradeoff is that the UI is H I D E O U S. D3 PC has no gamepad support. You can just emulate the Switch port (Diablo 3 Eternal Collection) if you only have PC. You get to enjoy the game with superior controls, no server issues, and you can play it even after Blizzard inevitably shuts the game down on PC (online only there, lmao).
To be fair, gamepad support wasn't really standard in 2011. Additionally, the console version was developed by an outside studio. Once the real money auction house had to be removed because of legal pressure, Blizzard basically cut funding to D3. They got a new team together to make Reaper of Souls to try and turn D3's reception around and make money via expansions.
Reaper sold a MERE ~ 20 million copies on its first six months, so Blizz basically had the team pick between finishing a second expansion or releasing what they had and diverting resources to improving the base game more while working on D4. The team chose the latter, and then Blizz pulled the rug out from under them and cut almost all D3 funding, reducing it to a skeleton crew. They then basically bullied the lead on RoS and the original Diablo 4 out of the company because his D4 wasn't GaaS. A different project within Bliz was then converted to the D4 we know.
TL;DR, Blizz has been a shithole for a long time.

Aside from WoW this isn't really the problem with any of their games. The consistent issue is the depredation of service over time in games that refuse to let you play them your own way. Warcraft 3 is only barely back to where it started before Reforged years later, but now players can't play LAN and have to deal with filesize bloat. Hearthstone got rid of most of the rulesets people actually liked. HotS was hostile to free players and was dropped outright. Overwatch is a mockery of its former self.
If these same games WEREN'T forced to become worse, people would play them.

Sea of Thieves, Flight Sim, and Grounded are doing okay, so I'm hopeful that Microsoft would be a better steward for Blizzard's titles as well. Yes, console version is superior because of this. No more bullshit disconnects that put you back at main menu in the middle of a rift run, no more auto kick for afk idling, can pause game whenever you want wherever you want etc.

The renown rewards go to all characters. The only thing you get from renown is xp if you have it maxed already.

Loot is boring as frick, no trading, no crafting, no Diablo, story is moronic, build diversity pretty much nonexistent, homosexual WoW-like elements. It's straight trash, bro.
It was initially a decently solid game for like the first 30 levels prior to this update, especially if you had frens to run dungeons with. Shit gets repetitive quick though and there's a disturbing lack of late game content. Blizzard did that on purpose in order to push their "seasons" monetization scheme, but it backfired and player count dropped off too quickly. Blizzard's corporate dogs probably forced the devs to nerf everything in order to slow down leveling and retain players longer so that they buy Season 1 or more cash shop skins, but now the game is so tedious that it isn't even worth booting up.
I think the big problem is legendaries.
sure they are always for your class, that's great, however, its very rote, if you want to use an ability, you need the ONE legendary effect that boosts that ability, and it can get slapped on basically anything.
if your ability is just "okay" and its legendary item boost is shit, the move is shit, nothing can be done, upping the percentage doesn't matter if the move is inherently shit.
this combined with the "You WILL use one of these 4 basic abilites, one of which is clearly better than the other 3, and you WILL use one of these 4 Core abilites, and 2 of them are better than the other 2 and you WILL choose this exact upgrade option of the 2 listed because its superior in every way, and then you WILL use this defensive ability because its better than the rest inherently, and then you WILL use this Ultimate and this final Passive because they are better than the rest.

I liked the DS3 PS3 version specifically quite a bit because the changes they had to make made it closer to an action game than the worthless auto pilot spam fest i see in PC videos. It's the only Diablo game I've played. Shame the version got short changed on content. I think D3 has some of the best feedback i have seen in a video game, is D4 the same? The little footage i have seen of the game makes it look really bland, hard to even make out the details in anything.

From all the doomposting I wasn't expecting to have fun playing necromancer but I've been running around with corpse tendrils into explosion with that channeled decompose spell and the core skill that sets a pool down that slows and makes enemies take 10% more damage from my minions and I've been enjoying myself. Screen is just full of dead bodies.

Because there's no point to having levels at all if everything is the same level
Character levels mean skill and paragon points, as well as equipment prerequisites. Enemy level scaling with you means you're not stuck with areas of the game where you won't be able to grind. Every place in the game is viable.

The point was that the builds were TOO powerful (and still are. more balance needs to come). People were cranking out 2m+ dps. The build itself is a good thing, but the numbers need to go down, and survivability needs to drop.

Rend DoT is op and if you build right then you can sail through 1-60. But yes certain classes I suspect are pigeonholed into certain builds. I think the joy is still being good from 25-50, perhaps doing whisper tree qs, and orb farming for curiosities--get those legendaries faster and sooner

Best way is to just test it out (maybe not in HC) but you know it takes some time. I went from rend 1-35 then switched midway into a WW build with what I had collected. So I don't believe every skill is useless perse, but yah in the endgame there are certain builds that are just better. But what I am arguing about is the journey of how you got there, for whatever that is worth. I hate being a fanboy of anything but the devs will make these viable later one, in base game changes or seasons

I figured that out within 5 minutes. It's so it mostly doesn't matter in which order you visit an area or do a quest. It also means you can party up with your friend who is 20 levels behind and both have fun without feeling like the enemies are too strong/weak.

D4 HC is the only way to play this game. Doing it for seasonal and actually having fun. It really takes planning, preparation, and game knowledge to come out unscathed. I actually am worried though about the PvP. Will probably avoid those areas

The hearts are insane. You get ones that do AOE fire damage when you fall out of CC, ones that make corpses pop (based on what abilities you have on your bar) every second, ones that rotate between 3 effects, and other shit.

this game story sucks any sort of hope or gallantry in the face of grim evil out of it, you are utterly manipulated by Mephisto the entire time, all pieces fall in place for him, he practically puts the Soulstone in your hands and tells you "fricking do it, stab me and take me out of hell and kill my Daughter"
I'd say Lilith is manipulated by him too, but she isn't, she implicitly knows something is afoot, but all she can do is try and consume his essence for her plan of making Sanctuary some sort of Darwin evolutionary playground so humans can get strong enough to frick up hell.

The main problem with D4 is how insanely slow it plays compared to D3, and how many EMPTY CORRIDORS there are in every dungeon.

i have still no idea what people are actually mad about. i did not have the experience of "feeling weaker" and having "build ruined" when i logged in. the big ones were the cooldown, crit and vuln, but was there something i missed? i keep hearing people talk how everything was ruined but i never see examples exactly how. are some people at least 5 nm tiers weaker?
Damage got gutted to the tune of 50% or more for every build in the game except one or two. Armor is 30% weaker across the board. Additional targeted nerfs basically removed sorc and Barb from the game.
If you're not feeling the changes you're too low level or not doing the content it matters in. I went from dealing 2 mill a hit to 300k. Dungeons take forever to fricking clear now.
The rebalance is designed to make you fall off exponentially. AKA, you get far enough to get hooked and don't feel it until it tempts you to buy the season pass boost.

The tradeoff is that the UI is H I D E O U S. D3 PC has no gamepad support. You can just emulate the Switch port (Diablo 3 Eternal Collection) if you only have PC. You get to enjoy the game with superior controls, no server issues, and you can play it even after Blizzard inevitably shuts the game down on PC (online only there, lmao).

To be fair, gamepad support wasn't really standard in 2011. Additionally, the console version was developed by an outside studio. Once the real money auction house had to be removed because of legal pressure, Blizzard basically cut funding to D3. They got a new team together to make Reaper of Souls to try and turn D3's reception around and make money via expansions.
Reaper sold a MERE ~ 20 million copies on its first six months, so Blizz basically had the team pick between finishing a second expansion or releasing what they had and diverting resources to improving the base game more while working on D4. The team chose the latter, and then Blizz pulled the rug out from under them and cut almost all D3 funding, reducing it to a skeleton crew. They then basically bullied the lead on RoS and the original Diablo 4 out of the company because his D4 wasn't GaaS. A different project within Bliz was then converted to the D4 we know.
TL;DR, Blizz has been a shithole for a long time.
The D3 team wasn't even working on D4 until 2018 at the earliest. Most of the team jumped ship to the Warcraft team around WoD/Legion time after RoS failed
