You want to feel STRONGER than in D3? D3 has cartoonish power balancing. ADHD screen explosions and masses of blood that trivialize every enemy in the game. It was fun to do once, but I appreciate D4 trying to scale things down to just 4 difficulties with a grounded pace instead of infinite Torment tiers. That being said D4 failed to make items interesting which ruins the whole thing once the story is over. D3 power creep is not the answer though.
having a grounded pace is one thing, but having the pacing be so abhorrently slow and making combat feel like clunky dogshit because you need to go through multiple rotations of resetting cooldowns just to kill shit is another. It plays like shit

Minions are a waste of hotbar slots. Your speed suffers dramatically with that build. Corpse tendrils, blighted corpse explosion, bone spear.

I think they should make more multiplicative damage buckets so you can stack damage in more ways than crit and vuln.
Like damage to cursed enemies for necro or damage to poisoned enemies, or damage to frozen. They should all be their own damage bucket so you have more flexibility to stack poison damage or curse damage on your gear instead of hoping to role crit/vuln damage.

I just hit wt3 at lvl 46, but pre-season i was working to level my necro alt and was this close to finishing the wt4 capstone at lvl 57 (got to Elias but minions couldn't survive and I didn't have the health to survive more than one attack. My main druid i hit wt4 at lvl 63 and def had a slower start than my necro. That was pre-nerf patch tho so it might be tougher now, so we'll see what lvl I hit wt4 S1. Still playing minon/corpse explosion so not some OP bonespear or whatever pseudo mage build ppl like to run
I unlocked WT4 with the help of my brother and his buddy, but even in the Capstone dungeon I couldn't do frick all at 61 with barbarian. I tried to run around after unlocking WT4 and had no survivability and damage. Everything just about two shot me and basic mobs required my entire Wombo Combo to even get to 3/4 health. This was all post nerf.
I always struggle at higher levels with my barb compared to my necro. I almost soloed the WT3 capstone at 41 (needed help for the curator), and I was easily able to handle WT3 stuff at that level (even did a couple of NMDs, not thinking that I had no glyph to upgrade yet). Barbs just can't output the damage as well (or at least, mine can't) as a necro.
It feels like barbs have to play with Training Wheels on for longer vs. the other classes. At WT3 I can solo stuff, but it's the threshold of getting into WT4 that the game puts a hard stop on me and tells me to frick off back to WT3.
You've bought 3 XP upgrades with ashes, right? You're also using elixirs? Parties help as well.

Before you say anything about the ashes, picrel. Before you say anything about the tier skip, notice I'm above the tier for ashes and still have to get the level. Even with no skips, you're going to pass the tier requirement well before you hit the level requirement. I'm at like tier 60 and I can't unlock the tier 28 ashes until I hit the level requirement.
It really doesn't. You become a lot quicker at room clearing as you get higher level (assuming you build right).
Druids can easily kill shit 10 levels above. They're better at it than my necro, and she's an absolute beast. And yes, you can get to 40 that quickly. Strongholds should be 3-5 levels each in that range on WT2 and they take maybe 10 minutes at the most to conquer.

Which means you clear dungeons with minimal killing at WT2 and hit legion events. By the time you hit 43 or so, you should be geared up and capable of clearing the WT3 capstone, and leveling in WT3 proper.

i unlocked it the first weekend and it's as good as it's frustrating, 7-20s cooldown (and i'm still not sure why its 20s sometimes?), bone barriers everywhere, dismounting for cliffs a ravines all sap it of any fun which just like every other system of the game, the give and take is too extreme. i havent logged in for like 3 weeks already and am not planning on it for a couple seasons
20s is when you get knocked off. If you dismount it's lower. The horse is great for powering through terrain without having to fight everything on the way.
