To be fair: that's the one good thing that could be said about the game. The LAUNCH was great, minimal server issues and most people thought the campaign was great. They didn't shit the bed until the first major patch which was shortly after launch.
Anon, being better than launch Diablo 3 isn't a fricking accomplishment
The servers were fricked, massively. Like to the point for days people couldn't play and Blizz knew to expect this from previous tests
Then the real money auction house
Then the fact that in general there was zero fricking concept of class identity outside of the witch doctor who was 'lolz pets'. For a long time people couldn't play and the RMA was flooded due to bots being a thing
>barb is impossible solo
skill issue
Some genuinely are, anon
It's not a skill issue in so much as it's a bad design issue. Yes, with the right items and drops, you're fine but you can't honestly fricking tell me that 'kill all the mobs while standing on plates and not moving can be done with zero ranged attacks' Best hope you get good spawns to do it fine
I think is better than 3 but still worse than 2 and like anon said here they fricked it up with the online MMO-esq features.
Ironically the MMO features were meant to be there to curb bots and while it does kinda work, it's not as bad as D2 or even D3, it's still pretty weak
There is no character improvement outside of gear since every enemy scales with your level (which is absolutely fricking stupid and lazy)
Which means the only way to "get better" is to get better drops/loot
Which, you guessed it, has nothing at all to do with skill!
Fricking moron.

isn't that like every ARPG ever?

Diablo isn't about skill, it is about making numbers go up so the game gets easier, with the end goal being the ability to effortlessly plow through monsters and fist frick the boss over and over again.
To add to this, unless you played DH on crit or a sorcerer you were unable to play the game past Nightmare. I made the unfortunate decision to try barb pre-fix, I stacked as much all res as I could, and I swear to you - it took me two full fricking minutes to kill two mobs who were right in front of the town. Before I stacked all res, I couldn't leave the town because the mobs would kill you in 3-4 hits while you did basically nothing. Items were obtained, of course, after I sold all the gems I stacked in the RMAH for gold and buying literally the best items I could afford. Since the game was fixed, to this day I still keep a barbarian who cannot kill anything, but is unable to die, either. Also, a kind reminder (because you evidently love to revision history) that RMAH died because Diablo 3 couldn't be released in China due to anti-gambling laws, not because it didn't print money or anything. I'm not a vindictive or a violent person in general, and I do not hate many people, but if Robert Kotick dies in pain and suffering, I will be a very happy man.
I remember playing Monk at launch and being unable to progress through Inferno mode because mobs hit so fricking hard that you genuinely could not fight elites without some kind of immunity or CC running
meanwhile wiz and DH could just glass-cannon their way through the game and make bank farming level 63 weapons from act 4 ezgg
kek I remember wanting to play a monk at release, but my autistic friend at the time convinced me that he has to play monk and I should play something else for whatever reason. So I just picked DH, cheesed the frick out of the game and sold my gear to some gay for like €250. Meanwhile he kept dying to those little fly projectiles in act 2. What a fricking shitshow.
because you'll notice very quickly if you've been here longer than 5 minutes newbie that people generally don't talk about modern blizzard games here, except to laugh at them
and you're also a fool if you think this place reflects the gaming community at large, most of which just buy the game and play it
No shit. Whale bait always makes money for companies. Thankfully they make less and less over time and with each subsequent release because they only appeal to people with large amounts of disposable income and little dignity. But the whales are only happy if the game itself is popular enough. In the end gaas/live service games all suffer the same fate, a quick rush into obscurity and the development studios only survive a couple more releases before they get buried among all the other dead studios.
I think the biggest two issues are: it's 'modern AAA online' game that means it's an unfinished, rushed shit that is reliant on zoom-zooms and whales but like, none of it was ready.
The second problem is they hoped to get back some of the Diablo 2 fanbase which is why the released Diablo 2 but ultimately Diablo 4 failed because one class is inherently fricked, barb since no ranged really so some challanges are impossible solo.
Druid 's perma shapeshit was locked for a long time
And of course, it's a fricking MMO based game.
Diablo was never MMO based ever. They tried that shit with Uber Trist and straight away people's reaction was 'how can I solo this shit because frick relying on morons'
As somebody who solo'd Uber Lillith with a Barb, genuine skill issue. I will agree that, in general, the game is easier for Ranged classes though. High level Poison NMD's with melee is pure suffering because the poison tick damage is fricked.
>one class is inherently fricked, barb
the thing that pisses me off about barb the most is how one of the most intreating build that you can go, walking arsenal, is totally gimp.
to activate the buff you need to hit with 2 handed bludgeon weapon, a 2 handed slashing weapon and dual wielding weapons BUT there is no skill in his entire tree that only hits with 2 handed slashing weapon, they just say "slashing weapon" so if you have even 1 one handed sword equip in the dual wielding slot your character will hit with that instead of the 2 handed one.
I don't know why is it like that, there are skill exclusively for 2 handed bludgeon and for dual wielding but not for 2 handed slashing so if you wanna use the walking arsenal build you can't equip one handed slashing weapons in your dual wielding slot, so no swords and no axes which limits you so much.
and to top it off the most powerful build the barb has is unbridle rage, and that's the most boring build of them all but it's the strongest so your fricked.
IIRC (been weeks), you can alter what the skill uses. So you can set it for what weapon you want. It just normally defaults to your highest damage weapon because blizz is moronic
I fricking hate how Black folk would never fricking shut up about their nostalgia for the proto-mmo community from diablo 2 from when they were thumb-sucking brats and motivating blizzard to make diablo 3 an always online service.
I am genuinely grateful to have witnessed how blizzard focusing even more on this complete garbage to the point of simplyfing other shit for the sake of it legitimately made diablorrhea 4 flop.
The turd is still having rubberband issues when leaving/entering town
How the campaign is completly ignored (and unrepeatable)
And how they made it into a pseudo-mmo but with no way tyo find people to play
The game was terrible on launch and made a ton of the same mistakes D3 made. I have no clue if it's better and I'm not willing to give it a chance at this point.
damn i remember reading some threads on reddit where 30-40 year old married wagecucks with kids were complaining that the community was too tryhard because they had no time to play and grind so much in the game. It was so depressing and that's the only thing I know about this game. I'm a hardcore Diablo fan but for me the series died with D3 and D2 was the last good game in the series. Blizzard is fricking dead.
eh, no
that was one of the things that might not be good ever. it was purposely not built with pets in mind and the minions were just there as 'extra dps' really instead of a pure summon build
You can use them, you can rely on them but you'll be summoning them and using corpse gen skills a lot in bosses
Too many affixes
Literally, if it had a fraction of the amount of affixes it has, I would still be playing it.
I don't need fricking +DMG to Female Mobs On Their Menstrual Cycle or +Bullying Resistance on Leap Years Divisible by 3
See that's what I don't get. Diablo 2 had a fricking load of that shit
65% to undead
+4 min damage
+2 max damage
+1 to smite
+14% fast stamina regen
I'm not saying you're wrong. I agree you're right but a lot of the 'gameplay' of Diablo 2 early on was sorting through shit you could use before you got uniques/runewords/sets
I am also unsure if pet necro can be fixed without a massive class and AI overhaul. I enjoyed playing it for the first bit, but it dropped off super hard.
Diablo IV takes it to its logical extreme is the problem.
Whereas D2 may have things like
30% Enhanced Defense
8% Cold Resistance
D4 has
5% Damage Reduction from Bleeding Enemies
11.5% Total Armor While In Werewolf Form
Lucky Hit: Up to 5% Chance to Heal 500 Life
It's all just too granular. D2 did have a lot of affixes, yes, but it was never hard to make a decision, and it was generally fairly broadly appealing upgrades. Weapon gives an added 30 fire damage? I know that's better than my last weapon which gave me 10 shock damage. But D4 makes comparing items an exercise in exhaustion with how much extra shit there is to consider. It's an example of giving TOO many options and losing fun in the process.

there is nothing wrong with a lot of affixes. the problem with D4 is they are all % damage type affixes.
shit like light radius, magic find, magic resist, are all good despite what the shitters and buttholes who say they dont like them say.
Diablo IV takes it to its logical extreme is the problem.

The difference is that in D2 the affixes were broad phase ( anyone who wants more of the affix thinks the item is good, it's not class specific.
While in D4 everything is hyper compartmentalized and classes based >+x% damage to burning enemies would be good...would be good if it wasn't ONLY sorc who could consistently apply burn and the affix ONLY rolled while you were playing sorc
I play arpgs like a pseudo-roguelike where I play classes based on if I get an interesting unique to use for a class/build. But in d4 they went out of their way so that uniques only dropped for your class, and they had moronic level requirements so I can't even reroll another character of that class to use it not that I would want to because the balance was so bad I could literally have all the right equipment and a unique, re-spec, and do worse dps than my boring frost shart build and EVERYTHING did worse dps than frost sharts no matter what.
Too many affixes
Literally, if it had a fraction of the amount of affixes it has, I would still be playing it.
I don't need fricking +DMG to Female Mobs On Their Menstrual Cycle or +Bullying Resistance on Leap Years Divisible by 3
I'm almost too boomer to bother with the seasonal grind. It took me ages to get one character past the campaign, and the alternative isn't that much faster either.
The ancient Egypt theme looks promising though.
Eh, no, not yet
Pure ARPG leveling autismo? Stick with PoE for now
Diablo 4 is still figuring how it'll do shit
Tho I'd argue Diablo 3 might just be as good if not better than poe but its endgame does drop off compared to poe in my experience
I am also unsure if pet necro can be fixed without a massive class and AI overhaul. I enjoyed playing it for the first bit, but it dropped off super hard.
It could be fixed easily if they just had something like 'skills benefit pets more' so like instead of say blood healing you so much, maybe something like 'each 25% forifty grants 10% damage for your pets'
But that still brings back to the main problem. The game was heavily based around 'resource earner, spender, 2 utilities (generally an escape/heal) and an ultimate. To use all your summons, you give up two slots already and the summons are meant to 'tank' but they fail massively against bosses
Fundementally it's just a 'bosses are too strong' problem
I dont understand why an arpg needs seasons in the first place.
originally the Diablo 2 seasons were a test for WoW, to see if people would 'start over' with concept of expansions like in Everquest and also, because they had the majority of the team working on WoW (it was developed when LoD was finished and some of the team were pulled off it, hence why it felt so short as an expansion)
That and free ARPGs gotta make money somehow so why not pay for 'muh pretty things; I can wear each new season like a moron
Diablo IV takes it to its logical extreme is the problem.

I definitely agree that Diablo 4 is mostly just 'shit for the sake of shit'
There's more emphasis on 'teamwork', since it's an MMO. Like you know if you play a class that doesn't bleed, you won't need it but hey, your buddy you are in a guild with (you are in a guild, it's an mmo remember), does a lot of bleed damage so it amplyifies your damage than if you were on your own meaning you don't need to look for more gear and be less powerful for a certain amount of time
>Why did it flop?
Same reason why every other big budget normgroid slop "flops." The shilling/marketing money runs out, all the streamers and influencers stop playing it and shilling so it just drops out of the online consciousness because no one ever wanted to play it in the firs08t place.
Because Diablo 4 is a mediocre to bad game surrounded by unholy levels of marketing and astroturfing. No one actually likes the game, as evidenced by the widespread disinterest and apathy towards the game.
It sucks but Blizzpigs want to trick you into playing it so they aren't alone.
>Dilator 4 was branded as the PoE2 killer >It didn't even kill PoE1 >PoE1 is still extremely active and got a huge player boost due to everyone finding out how trash Dilator 4 is >Dilator 4 is essentially dead outside of a handful of dipshit paid streamers who hate the game but will take Blizzard's money anyway >And PoE2 is going to bury it for good
PoE1 is kept alive by an army of hyper addicted consumer drone crowd. No matter how hard the game shits down their neck, they will jump to its rescue like battered wives. I honestly don't care for your cope.
>Blizzard is kept alive by an army of hyper addicted consumer drone crowd. No matter how hard the game shits down their neck, they will jump to its rescue like battered wives. I honestly don't care for your cope.
poesissies aren't ready for the coping they are going to have to do when it all comes out LOL
makes me chuckle every time I think about what is going to happen
>Pooe tards going on rampage for one year straight how poo2 will be the second coming of video games and totally different to d4 >Exilecon comes along and it's literally like d4
Hype imploded so fast.
poe sucks since chris ruined it with his vision. The only hope for that franchise is that jonathan saves it with poe2. Hopefully chris gets shitcanned or at least perma-banished to poe1 moron containment zone.
Current Blizzard is incapable of making good games. All of their live services have been ruined and they've evenly gone back and retroactively ruined games like Warcraft 3 while taking away the good version that people bought years ago.
They need to stretch the grind first for morons to pick it up. If you can easily obtain everything without being a neet or streamer, I won't care. This game needs to be a second job without pay. It also has not enough layers up on layers of rng, and the mtx is too cheap.
>it's why the ARPG community is full of autists
checks out, I never understood those people that just play d2 over and over again for years on end, playing the same 5 acts with no changes whatsoever just to get slightly better at it.
I started playing through season 2, it's definitely an improvement. Game still has big problems. But so did D3 on launch. I'll check out the new season although I'm not in a big urge to start over again. Although I definitely have basically beat season 2, I defeater Uber Lillith, without being able to one shot her so I had to actually do the mechanics, which was pretty fricking hard, the rest of the game is a joke compared to it. But it was satisfying to get that.
I understand why people don't want to play though. The itemization is.. not great. The monetization is kind of annoying. And it lacks basic things like quickmatch (!). It's an "MMO-lite" and you literally can't just queue up for a group to do stuff. Which is what made D3 work, I had a drop down where I could do anything private or instantly be put in a group to keep the crushing loneliness at bay
This is somehow an MMO where I can't group with people and it makes me feel more lonely than ever, it's so weird
I'm gonna play it. I don't bother posting about it because the arpg troony brigade are obnoxious and I don't want to deal with that.
Everything you posted is irrelevant to me. Cope, seethe and dilate.
Tried the beta. Thought i was gonna hate the game because of all the freemium bullshit. Turns out i hated it even more because they turned into a mmolite, frick that shit. Thank god i didnt waste money on this game
I started last week. It's good. A true grimdark and satanic setting like we were asking for for years.
Blows 3 the frick out. Like it never happened.
Melee stabbing is back as main attack.
Because fans of Diablo don't really want a Diablo game. They just want a straight-to-endgame grindfest with dailies.
They give us a dark campaign that takes tens of hours to finish, solo is not shat on anymore but the 'fans' don't want this. They want a mobile type of game to grind mindlessly for digital loots.
If you play this, making the most out of what you get, even if it's not your dream loot, is the way to go. And enjoy the edginess brought back to Diablo.
>Because fans of Diablo don't really want a Diablo game. They just want a straight-to-endgame grindfest with dailies.
Making shit up huh? >They give us a dark campaign
Lmfao >They want a mobile type of game to grind mindlessly for digital loots.
This is what blizzard wanted >If you play this, making the most out of what you get, even if it's not your dream loot, is the way to go. And enjoy the edginess brought back to Diablo.
You sound like a marketer and i'd bet you are.
People really would rather play one of the most confusing, guide/build/wiki-needing, schizophrenic adhd autism workaholic games (for free) than play any if Blizzard's dog trash. Heroes of the storm is kinda fun though I gotta say, but again thats free.
There is nothing they can do short of redoing half the game to fix that disaster that is end-game in D4.
No one wants to grind fricking hundreds and hundreds of cookie-cutter slow-paced NMD as literally the only meaningful end-game activity. And no amount of seasonal gimmicks can fix that.
>mobile game ported to PC
That's basically it. It's Immortal--which Blizzard provably cares far more about given how much content they give that game compared to D4--just with better graphics.
how is immortal doing now a days? last of heard it was a shitshow with the pay to win gems and the 10k requirement to get on lv 5 or sum shit like that.
The p2w gems only really affect endgame pvp. Otherwise everyone plays with everyone else and it's really easy to find a group or some help with anything. The only thing is all the activities are 3-5 minutes long and designed to be played at work or on the subway, so the gameplay is extremely repetitive and boring.
>No depth within the item affix system >No depth within character builds >No depth within the gameplay >No depth within the end game progression >No depth within the legendry's >No depth within the economy >Has a single pinnacle bossing encounter >Competing against a game like PoE
There was no alternative aside from a complete flop, you can tell how shallow the game is just by the breakdown of the sales figures, over 85% of all players playing on a console.
Because they didn't make D4 a fun game. They focused on trying to make it a cashcow for investors.
All the design decisions were "how can this make us money" instead of "how can this be fun"
Many such cases with AAA today.
No I'm not mad anon, I'm playing many of the other thousands of games that are actually fun. But sometimes it's fun to laugh at the idiots who see a title of a franchise and feel the need to like or defend it because one of the other games was really good even though the recent ones have been shit.
>feature didnt work that well in D2 because it was too barebones >do we expand on it for D3 / D4 ? >NO LOL JUST CUT IT OUT!
They should have just taken D2 and instead of trimming out the things that didnt work out well, change or expand on them. Except stamina, that can go, unless you want it for rolling like dark souls.
Things like light radius could be a cool stat to have if you have 1 or 2 dungeons that are super dark and almost require it. Then players would be like >wow this dungeon is a pain in the dick im never doing it again!
or >wow i sure am glad i have all this light radius gear to make this comfortable, now i can farm this unique area and boss with its special loot table
or >wow this classes aura that also adds to light radius is actually useful!
Characters and gear have specialties is more cool than just +damage so you can pop loot pinatas better. Everyone wants to feel like they have a benefit to picking the class they picked beyond just how much damage it deals, people want gear that might not seem great but has a niche in certain situations vs some enemies or some areas. They should not have cut any of the affixes from Diablo 2, and just figured out how ot make them more cool if they thoguht they didnt work out.
The Survivors clone genre already solved Light Radius
Repackage it into a mechanic that some effects use, and some it is used to auto-pick up gold.
If you have an aura or curse skill, it uses light radius for its area.
let me put it this way: if its title wasn't Diablo IV, literally nobody would give this generic arpgslop the time of day, it would just be another Last Epoch basically
The mercenaries thing was part of a leak that seems like it is legit. The full game price expansion was the highest option on a stupid survey that was sent out asking people what they would pay for the expansion. I can guarantee you that the expansion will not be a full game price
For me its because although the setting is Diablo 2ish. The gameplay isn't.
Murdering giant easy packs isn't Diablo. That shit is boring. A few dangerous tough enemies, thats Diablo. More important its more fun, easier to balance around and more sensible.
Because the game is monetized to hell and back and was built entirely around that aspect and it leaves a shitty taste in my mouth.
I love playing it though, if I'm being honest. But it probably is the closest of all Diablo games this far to feel like an MMO and when you get to post game it basically just feels like playing some weird bastard game where I'm running around doing dungeons and raids and shit with other people on servers.
>Because the game is monetized to hell and back and was built entirely around that aspect and it leaves a shitty taste in my mouth.
Are you talking about d4 or PoE here??
yes
pic related was the most popular necromancer-specific effect from season 1, for example, and so they added it into the game on the next season as a unique item
Oh shit I didn't realize this. Was a Necro during Season 1 with a corpse explosion build specifically because of this shit. That's good to know. I thought there was no point playing characters after the season was over, glad I was wrong. I wonder if they'll do the same with some of the Season 2 powers.
>Seasons in Diablo 4 bring many new things: cosmetics, buffs and nerfs, gameplay mechanics, and most importantly, new loot. Blizzard hasn't forgotten about our cravings for new Uniques and Legendary Aspects, and is adding 6 new Uniques and 7 new Legendary Aspects in Season of the Construct.
https://www.wowhead.com/diablo-4/news/6-new-uniques-and-7-new-legendary-aspects-coming-in-season-3-diablo-4-337177
what they are has not yet been announced, but it's very likely that they are going to be the most popular/balanced versions of season 2 powers
There’s too much competition with legendary aspects vs uniques already and its not even a year since launch. I hate this lazy shite way of adding cool seasonal stuff into the game. They need to add the systems into the base game and cope with the power creep. It’s not like there aren’t a hundred ways you can imagine to do that.
>reskinned gems >reskinned helltides >lab stolen from PoE
And yet the Diablow4 wienersuckers will swallow the load daddy blizzard pumps into their mouth like the good little slaves they are.
POE is in a very meh place for a long time now so I guess its at least understandable. I'm really hoping POE2 will bring back the old magic, and I'm super excited for the shapeshifting stuff they added.
correction there's 12 specialize tabs not counting the regular stash tabs that you can also buy. >You pay premium for D4
I paid 40 bucks for it, that's not even standard price for triple A games much less "premium"
I hated how weak my character always felt. There was never that noticeable spike in power from a new skill or item. That's the feeling I play this genre for.
It has no end game. The end game is getting level 100 because they made the game specifically for streamer homosexuals to rush to 100 then move in to the next slop.
having D2 classes and items would've been great but that's not normie friendly enough for the people who would only play the game for a day at most regardless
>Babe, its a new season of diablo! its time to star faming great to combat all the new nerfs your clas will get! >you dont wanna be left behind do you?
Builder > Spender gameplay is inherently boring.
Cooldowns are boring.
Bloating your affix pool by making the same ability several times over is aggravating.
Showering the player in items to make up for the fact that you need to sift through millions of items to get something worth using is aggravating.
Your character being absolutely powerless without gear is dumb.
The paragon system being an absolute mess to interact with is dumb.
Diablo 4 sucks balls.
The game was fun while it lasted, but even this early on in the game's life there's ridiculous builds with mayhem and billions of damage on the screen. At least with D3 it took years, patches, and an expansion for the game to reach this point of absurdity. Which is why I have no hope for the future of this game, I doubt they can reverse the damage they've done.
I like D4. I find combats very satisfying with my rogue. Its instant mindless fun amd if youre nor a build autist, lvl 100 nightmare dungeons are quite challenging. Im eager to play season 3. Im gonna try not make another rogue but I dont know which other class is as satisfying. I was thinking sorc or barb ? Any advice ?
I usually start with a rough idea of a playstyle i haven’t tried before and go with that without looking for build guides or anything. D4 is pretty good at being simple enough to get a build into WT4 without having to know exactly what youre doing. S3 I think I’ll be going a caster druid, a bleed or thorns barb or a melee rogue
They remastered D2 so they could censor the game and sell it back to the players. I'm never forgiving these blizzard. Ever. Frick this company and the fricking homosexuals still playing their trash. KYS moron.
1. It has 2 good mechanics that makes sense, vulnerable and crit. Damage "if enemies are close", "if enemies are far", "if it is a main skill", "if it is second Tuesday of the year", etc modifiers are trash, which means every build will want vulnerable and crit chance/crit multi.
2. There is no skill tree, you choose the skills you like and 1 improvement to them, that's it. Paragon is what skill tree should have been, but it's also lacking because there are only 2 mechanics that you want in your build and everything else is shit.
3. Item system is still shit. You want to farm an item with 3/4 suitable mods, reroll 4th mod to what you want and apply an aspect. Maybe you need a unique sometimes, but it is not really different from rare+respect except for the fact that it will always have same mods+aspect. Aspects and uniques aspects are boring because there is a lack of mechanics, so they either give you vulnerable sustain, crit or resource sustain.
4. End game locations are built in a shit way(they are always 2-3 circles connected by some corridor that only opens when you kill all mobs/towers/whatever that forces shitton of backtracking).
>which means every build will want vulnerable and crit chance/crit multi
yeah sadly those 2 stats topple everything else. that's why sorting thru all the modifiers is not that hard since most stuff don't matter so just pick what ever has higher dps or huger crit/vulnerable dmg.
I bought the game on launch because I ain't poor and £60 is nothing to me. Played for a bout 20 hours and quit because I figured its dogshit.
I've been keeping an eye out on the seasons by watching a few streamers and friends and holy shit they are already jumping on this formulaic bullcrap they have in wow. First it was malignant powers, then vampire powers now construct powers. Absolutely 0 originality.
It didn’t flop. It made more money than D3. Blizzdrones aren’t human, they will NEVER stop giving Blizzard their money, even if they only play the game for five minutes.
I played Diablo 2 on/off over the years. I remember when it first came out and the cow level of course. I never got into the game so much that I looked up builds or how to fuse items together to become op. Just always played the game on normal mode, beat it, hung around the camp and chatted. Need to replay it soon
tons of people are playing it and it's launch was way better than diablo 3, didn't flop, stay mad virgin
>launch was way better than diablo 3
A high praise for sure
Didn't diablo 3 suffered from error 37? D4 had none of that
it suffer much more than that.
To be fair: that's the one good thing that could be said about the game. The LAUNCH was great, minimal server issues and most people thought the campaign was great. They didn't shit the bed until the first major patch which was shortly after launch.
D3 failed because of the auction house at launch. When the game released on console it was honestly a good game with all the fixes they did.
Ironically the MMO features were meant to be there to curb bots and while it does kinda work, it's not as bad as D2 or even D3, it's still pretty weak
they really aren't anon, it is entirely possible to beat any of the content with any class on your own, just play better
>if you have the right drops, gear and luck
>yeah exactly just play better!
I know, anon
>he needs the right gear
>he needs the right drops
>he relies on luck because he doesn't know how to play an ARPG
I accept your concession, trash homosexual
Apart from trying to start a flame war, you're just lying now.
You originally said:
I pointed out the problem
you then decided I was correct and then decided to start the flame war
why?
There is no character improvement outside of gear since every enemy scales with your level (which is absolutely fricking stupid and lazy)
Which means the only way to "get better" is to get better drops/loot
Which, you guessed it, has nothing at all to do with skill!
Fricking moron.
> the only way to "get better" is to get better drops/loot
isn't that like every ARPG ever?
What a fricking shitshow.
>tons of people are playing it
ok then why did it flop (here).
why is no one in Ganker or /vg/ talking about it?
because you'll notice very quickly if you've been here longer than 5 minutes newbie that people generally don't talk about modern blizzard games here, except to laugh at them
and you're also a fool if you think this place reflects the gaming community at large, most of which just buy the game and play it
>people generally don't talk about modern blizzard games here, except to laugh at them
my point exactly, they're not even laughing at it anymore.
Ganker hates everything anyways regardless of quality so there's that. No thread in /vg/ is weird though.
they even have a general for lost ark and not d4 what the frick.
>ok then why did it flop (here)
imagine caring this hard
Poverty. It was made for paypigs and they're paypigging
There's no p2w at all and they don't even add new shit to the shop very often. Is a paypig now just anyone who buys a game?
Ganker is overrun now with thirdies
that's why there's an obsession with f2p slop
you think the people that are seething over it have actually played the game?
>dude wtf why is the shit dead game dead?
gee I wonder why
where is this from?
A live event in korea.
this is even more sad when you consider how big D2 was in korea.
But Diablo 3 is good now. When is Diablo 4 gonna be fixed / good? In 2029.?
Game is gay as frick. Enjoy your new $60 horse skins with no new content.
>it's launch was way better than diablo 3
And once the launch reviews were published, go fully shit it up.
fpbp, its insanely popular in my circle, i think its making a lot of money for blizzard
The corporate blizzdrone CCP shill lashes out in pain as he strikes you
You misspelled tens
t. middle aged roastie
They tried that shit with Uber Trist and straight away people's reaction was 'how can I solo this shit because frick relying on morons'
>barb is impossible solo
skill issue
As somebody who solo'd Uber Lillith with a Barb, genuine skill issue. I will agree that, in general, the game is easier for Ranged classes though. High level Poison NMD's with melee is pure suffering because the poison tick damage is fricked.
I think is better than 3 but still worse than 2 and like anon said here they fricked it up with the online MMO-esq features.
What killed it for me was having lags and rubber banding in a fricking single player game.
>one class is inherently fricked, barb
the thing that pisses me off about barb the most is how one of the most intreating build that you can go, walking arsenal, is totally gimp.
to activate the buff you need to hit with 2 handed bludgeon weapon, a 2 handed slashing weapon and dual wielding weapons BUT there is no skill in his entire tree that only hits with 2 handed slashing weapon, they just say "slashing weapon" so if you have even 1 one handed sword equip in the dual wielding slot your character will hit with that instead of the 2 handed one.
It just normally defaults to your highest damage weapon because blizz is moronic
the what? where can I change it? and blizzard really is moronic since they don't tell you anywhere you can do that.
https://www.shacknews.com/article/136131/diablo-4-swap-weapons-barbarian
That should work. Save me downloading 90GB to show you
fricking hell is so simple yet so dumb, well I know which class I'm playing on the new season.
cheers anon.
Enjoy
I personally enjoyed leap and charge barb a lot and didn't bother with the shouts
>pic
Subtle troll, well crafted. newbies will fall for it hook, line and stinker.
11/10 - would get trolled again.
And how they made it into a pseudo-mmo but with no way tyo find people to play
they should've stole more ideas from PoE.
Not even PoE's creator is playing PoE lmao.
>BFR kicked the frick out of poe1 dev team
>2 banger leagues in a row
>BFR kicked the frick out of poe1 dev team
based.
source?
The game was terrible on launch and made a ton of the same mistakes D3 made. I have no clue if it's better and I'm not willing to give it a chance at this point.
maybe because it sucks????? ever think of that?
D3 season 30 is up now and that's way better
they are cycling on thru old season + altar
altar and vision of enmity and now upgradable lords of hell shards
too much power scaling
Same I made a character on my PC and on my Switch for bed. Great season so far
>play the exact same game, going through the exact same motions for the 10000th time
>damn this shit is fire yo
damn i remember reading some threads on reddit where 30-40 year old married wagecucks with kids were complaining that the community was too tryhard because they had no time to play and grind so much in the game. It was so depressing and that's the only thing I know about this game. I'm a hardcore Diablo fan but for me the series died with D3 and D2 was the last good game in the series. Blizzard is fricking dead.
Anything interesting? Is pet necro actually good?
eh, no
that was one of the things that might not be good ever. it was purposely not built with pets in mind and the minions were just there as 'extra dps' really instead of a pure summon build
You can use them, you can rely on them but you'll be summoning them and using corpse gen skills a lot in bosses
The difference is that in D2 the affixes were broad phase ( anyone who wants more of the affix thinks the item is good, it's not class specific.
While in D4 everything is hyper compartmentalized and classes based
>+x% damage to burning enemies would be good...would be good if it wasn't ONLY sorc who could consistently apply burn and the affix ONLY rolled while you were playing sorc
I play arpgs like a pseudo-roguelike where I play classes based on if I get an interesting unique to use for a class/build. But in d4 they went out of their way so that uniques only dropped for your class, and they had moronic level requirements so I can't even reroll another character of that class to use it not that I would want to because the balance was so bad I could literally have all the right equipment and a unique, re-spec, and do worse dps than my boring frost shart build and EVERYTHING did worse dps than frost sharts no matter what.
they still haven't release the changes but they said all classes are getting updated so one can only hope
>all classes are getting updated
In season 4 lmao
Too many affixes
Literally, if it had a fraction of the amount of affixes it has, I would still be playing it.
I don't need fricking +DMG to Female Mobs On Their Menstrual Cycle or +Bullying Resistance on Leap Years Divisible by 3
this. fricking hate doing napkin math every time i port into town to clear my inventory
I'm almost too boomer to bother with the seasonal grind. It took me ages to get one character past the campaign, and the alternative isn't that much faster either.
The ancient Egypt theme looks promising though.
is it free yet? is there a reason to play it over path of exile? Last ARPG I played was 40k inquisitor
Eh, no, not yet
Pure ARPG leveling autismo? Stick with PoE for now
Diablo 4 is still figuring how it'll do shit
Tho I'd argue Diablo 3 might just be as good if not better than poe but its endgame does drop off compared to poe in my experience
Fundementally it's just a 'bosses are too strong' problem
originally the Diablo 2 seasons were a test for WoW, to see if people would 'start over' with concept of expansions like in Everquest and also, because they had the majority of the team working on WoW (it was developed when LoD was finished and some of the team were pulled off it, hence why it felt so short as an expansion)
That and free ARPGs gotta make money somehow so why not pay for 'muh pretty things; I can wear each new season like a moron
I dont understand why an arpg needs seasons in the first place.
To push new shit they can make you pay for.
I'll wait for the expansion to come out with an optional paid $100 deluxe edition for 3 days of early access.
>Dilator 4 was branded as the PoE2 killer
>It didn't even kill PoE1
>PoE1 is still extremely active and got a huge player boost due to everyone finding out how trash Dilator 4 is
>Dilator 4 is essentially dead outside of a handful of dipshit paid streamers who hate the game but will take Blizzard's money anyway
>And PoE2 is going to bury it for good
PoE1 is kept alive by an army of hyper addicted consumer drone crowd. No matter how hard the game shits down their neck, they will jump to its rescue like battered wives. I honestly don't care for your cope.
The only coper is you, son. Dilator 4 LOST. Blizzard LOST. YOU LOST.
>Blizzard is kept alive by an army of hyper addicted consumer drone crowd. No matter how hard the game shits down their neck, they will jump to its rescue like battered wives. I honestly don't care for your cope.
>Sir, you play Path of Exile. Sir, it's finest game! F2P, totally free! Best game, support indie developer. SIR!
That's not going to work, Blizzpig. You've been exposed.
>And PoE2 is going to bury it for good
It will also bury those morons from ggg and poe1 with it
poesissies aren't ready for the coping they are going to have to do when it all comes out LOL
makes me chuckle every time I think about what is going to happen
>Pooe tards going on rampage for one year straight how poo2 will be the second coming of video games and totally different to d4
>Exilecon comes along and it's literally like d4
Hype imploded so fast.
>poe troony
>dilator
kwab you're so mad
Seething blizzpig, go jerk off to your hot dommy "mommy"
poe sucks since chris ruined it with his vision. The only hope for that franchise is that jonathan saves it with poe2. Hopefully chris gets shitcanned or at least perma-banished to poe1 moron containment zone.
Diablo 4 seasons are unappealing because it is this most boring early game leveling in any rpg
season 2 was a great time. vampire powers worked well.
Current Blizzard is incapable of making good games. All of their live services have been ruined and they've evenly gone back and retroactively ruined games like Warcraft 3 while taking away the good version that people bought years ago.
I keep forgetting that it released. Truly amazing after all the time that I played Diablo 2 and somewhat even 3.
Sorry Blizztrannies but you aren't going to convince anyone to play your dead troongame when you losers can't even sustain a general on /vg/.
They need to stretch the grind first for morons to pick it up. If you can easily obtain everything without being a neet or streamer, I won't care. This game needs to be a second job without pay. It also has not enough layers up on layers of rng, and the mtx is too cheap.
>This game needs to be a second job without pay
>This game needs to be a second job without pay
do autistic people really?
Yes, it's why the ARPG community is full of autists/NEETs/troons/all of the above.
>it's why the ARPG community is full of autists
checks out, I never understood those people that just play d2 over and over again for years on end, playing the same 5 acts with no changes whatsoever just to get slightly better at it.
Going to roll a necro again, just as I did for closed beta, release, season 1 and season 2
Sorry, too busy playing D2R
Blizz is dead anon. It's time to let it go. Find something new to fill your life.
>playing blizzshit
>in the year of our lord 2009+15
At this point it's just pathetic.
>At this point it's just pathetic.
I agreed, coomer posting is pathetic.
how to goth gf
Lmfao
>They want a mobile type of game to grind mindlessly for digital loots.
This is what blizzard wanted
>If you play this, making the most out of what you get, even if it's not your dream loot, is the way to go. And enjoy the edginess brought back to Diablo.
You sound like a marketer and i'd bet you are.
>Season of SJFBRYGKLE
nice, cool
>be path of exile
>Free
>Exists
People really would rather play one of the most confusing, guide/build/wiki-needing, schizophrenic adhd autism workaholic games (for free) than play any if Blizzard's dog trash. Heroes of the storm is kinda fun though I gotta say, but again thats free.
how new
This is Diablo. Season starts, go hard, get bored, wait for next season, repeat. There will be threads when season 3 starts
>how new
as in season 3 in a week
I've had a lot of fun in d4. Will be playing s3 as well. Probably playing a barb
Do you still have to beat the story on eternal realm or whatever first before you can play seasonal?
nah they change that a while back, you can jump straight to seasons now.
Holy shit yes
There is nothing they can do short of redoing half the game to fix that disaster that is end-game in D4.
No one wants to grind fricking hundreds and hundreds of cookie-cutter slow-paced NMD as literally the only meaningful end-game activity. And no amount of seasonal gimmicks can fix that.
>new update
>everyone comes back to seethe for a week
just accept the game will be "good" in 2 years. thats how it works now.
I have 3 characters at level 100. I can say that 75% of the time playing this game I was bored.
>Why did it flop so hard?
Always online
it's a mobile game ported to PC.
>mobile game ported to PC
That's basically it. It's Immortal--which Blizzard provably cares far more about given how much content they give that game compared to D4--just with better graphics.
how is immortal doing now a days? last of heard it was a shitshow with the pay to win gems and the 10k requirement to get on lv 5 or sum shit like that.
They still make a FRICK TON of money of it. One of the top games in the stable IIRC
china was a mistake.
fabricated bullshit.
The p2w gems only really affect endgame pvp. Otherwise everyone plays with everyone else and it's really easy to find a group or some help with anything. The only thing is all the activities are 3-5 minutes long and designed to be played at work or on the subway, so the gameplay is extremely repetitive and boring.
weird considering china has the most playtime on games out of every country.
D3 is ass and is still ass.
D4 is ass and is ___ ___?
It was bad, pretty simple
if the goyim didn't learn a lesson from this about ~~*influencers*~~ lying about a game nothing will.
>people paid 100 dollars for this
looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllllll
theres no content
you can see everything the game has to offer in an hour
>No depth within the item affix system
>No depth within character builds
>No depth within the gameplay
>No depth within the end game progression
>No depth within the legendry's
>No depth within the economy
>Has a single pinnacle bossing encounter
>Competing against a game like PoE
There was no alternative aside from a complete flop, you can tell how shallow the game is just by the breakdown of the sales figures, over 85% of all players playing on a console.
Frick diablo and blizzard.
but what if it was diablow?
Because they didn't make D4 a fun game. They focused on trying to make it a cashcow for investors.
All the design decisions were "how can this make us money" instead of "how can this be fun"
Many such cases with AAA today.
No I'm not mad anon, I'm playing many of the other thousands of games that are actually fun. But sometimes it's fun to laugh at the idiots who see a title of a franchise and feel the need to like or defend it because one of the other games was really good even though the recent ones have been shit.
>season of <indistinguishable for whatever reason>
Purge the entire dev team. Now! For frick's sake. What the frick does that bullshit even achieve?
that was the preview image before they announce the name for the season.
this is the name after they announce it.
>season of the construct
wait is the new season about an automata or robot?
>lost to poe
how bad do you have to be to even do that lmfao
>feature didnt work that well in D2 because it was too barebones
>do we expand on it for D3 / D4 ?
>NO LOL JUST CUT IT OUT!
They should have just taken D2 and instead of trimming out the things that didnt work out well, change or expand on them. Except stamina, that can go, unless you want it for rolling like dark souls.
Things like light radius could be a cool stat to have if you have 1 or 2 dungeons that are super dark and almost require it. Then players would be like
>wow this dungeon is a pain in the dick im never doing it again!
or
>wow i sure am glad i have all this light radius gear to make this comfortable, now i can farm this unique area and boss with its special loot table
or
>wow this classes aura that also adds to light radius is actually useful!
If you have an aura or curse skill, it uses light radius for its area.
if the game was free I'd care
not paying $70 for a battle pass cosmetic shop
let me put it this way: if its title wasn't Diablo IV, literally nobody would give this generic arpgslop the time of day, it would just be another Last Epoch basically
>Last what??
exactly
>Season of نئتيسشف
bro wtf
>an NPC mercenary
>1 dungeon
BROS LOG ON
HYPEHYPEHYPEHYPE
Not bad. Was hoping for act two mercenaries to return in a modern arpg.
even D3 had mercenaries, I really wanted it them inD4.
Oh boy, I dropped out of d3 shortly after release, when it was a disastrous disappointment. So no idea about it anymore.
didn't blizzard say they would add the mercenaries in the expansion but they also hinted the expansion would have full game price...
The mercenaries thing was part of a leak that seems like it is legit. The full game price expansion was the highest option on a stupid survey that was sent out asking people what they would pay for the expansion. I can guarantee you that the expansion will not be a full game price
I hope they actually do damage now like in d2 not the d3 fiasco
the asinine create a new character every 3 months to continue the story season set up.
have you ever heard of POE?
Poe doesn't have a story
There was a free week on steam and i didnt even care to try it. DOA
For me its because although the setting is Diablo 2ish. The gameplay isn't.
Murdering giant easy packs isn't Diablo. That shit is boring. A few dangerous tough enemies, thats Diablo. More important its more fun, easier to balance around and more sensible.
what is the chaos sanctuary.
>cant use my blizztard version on steam
Yeah, im not touching this shit
Because the game is monetized to hell and back and was built entirely around that aspect and it leaves a shitty taste in my mouth.
I love playing it though, if I'm being honest. But it probably is the closest of all Diablo games this far to feel like an MMO and when you get to post game it basically just feels like playing some weird bastard game where I'm running around doing dungeons and raids and shit with other people on servers.
>Because the game is monetized to hell and back and was built entirely around that aspect and it leaves a shitty taste in my mouth.
Are you talking about d4 or PoE here??
Yes. Probably the worst thing to happen to loot based hack and slash games was monetization.
Question for those that actually played the game: did any of the Seasonal content got added to the core game?
yes
pic related was the most popular necromancer-specific effect from season 1, for example, and so they added it into the game on the next season as a unique item
Blizzard hasn't forgotten about our cravings for new Uniques and Legendary Aspects, and is adding 6 new Uniques and 7 new Legendary Aspects in Season of the Construct.

what they are has not yet been announced, but it's very likely that they are going to be the most popular/balanced versions of season 2 powers
Completely skipped Season 2. Will try it again once Season 3 goes live.
>reskinned gems
>reskinned helltides
>lab stolen from PoE
And yet the Diablow4 wienersuckers will swallow the load daddy blizzard pumps into their mouth like the good little slaves they are.
>Kill zombies in this "not helltide"
>Kill vampires in this "not helltide"
>Kill skeletons...I mean, "robots" in this "not helltide"
>Leaderboards
>Leaderboards aren't even in at the start of the season.
wow, great season.
>Still can't hide weapons you do not use so you have to look like a moron playing a barbarian or have a crossbow on your back as a melee rogue
>implying a rogue wouldn't have a ranged weapon
It looks cool
Yeah, a weapon you never fire because your build is entirely melee based that just dangles off your back. So cool.
>melee rogue
I fricking hate how had ranged only, but I refuse to use tb or puncture. frick melee gays
what are classes looking like? What's fun? This game gives me carpal tunnel so probably not wizrd
I like barb cuz I can larp as an ork
Instead of seasons they should've just made 1 big story dlc. Seasons are a cancer
They probably will do that as well eventually. Seasons are cool because that mean the game is changing and there's new stuff to do
story DLC already got announce for 2024™ Mephisto is gonna be the final boss and new class is call "spiritborn" no info on that.
If D4 turned F2P over night I'd still hesitate over wasting my time on this game.
Considering you are sitting here 16 hours a day, every day, you'd be better off.
is it bad that I like d4 more than poe because I can't stand the amount of items that drop in POE and calibrating loot filters gives me headaches.
POE is in a very meh place for a long time now so I guess its at least understandable. I'm really hoping POE2 will bring back the old magic, and I'm super excited for the shapeshifting stuff they added.
I fricking hate how to have to buy currency tabs on poe
>I fricking hate how you* have to buy currency tabs on poe
and there's like 3 different tabs as well, fricking cancer.
Is that really so bad when it's there is no other entry fee? You pay premium for D4 and don't even get proper stash space.
correction there's 12 specialize tabs not counting the regular stash tabs that you can also buy.
>You pay premium for D4
I paid 40 bucks for it, that's not even standard price for triple A games much less "premium"
I hated how weak my character always felt. There was never that noticeable spike in power from a new skill or item. That's the feeling I play this genre for.
didn't this shit die 2 weeks in release
It has no end game. The end game is getting level 100 because they made the game specifically for streamer homosexuals to rush to 100 then move in to the next slop.
Ah yes the season of Uncornc.
I can't wait.
oh cool veiled modifiers
Blizzard continues to be hilariously bad at GaaS.
having D2 classes and items would've been great but that's not normie friendly enough for the people who would only play the game for a day at most regardless
im gonna play it, but its impossible to discuss it on Ganker
>Babe, its a new season of diablo! its time to star faming great to combat all the new nerfs your clas will get!
>you dont wanna be left behind do you?
frick your life as a service bullshit.
Nobody wants to pay for chinese moneygrub#21424214.
The game was fun while it lasted, but even this early on in the game's life there's ridiculous builds with mayhem and billions of damage on the screen. At least with D3 it took years, patches, and an expansion for the game to reach this point of absurdity. Which is why I have no hope for the future of this game, I doubt they can reverse the damage they've done.
>even this early on in the game's life there's ridiculous builds with mayhem and billions of damage on the scree
Any advice ?
im going necro next season. played rogue this season
supposedly they will fix™© barb, so you can try that, they are the weakest class rn but this new season they getting updated™©
I'm going them anyways.
I'm having more fun with D3 tbh
It's fun to progress and easy to make alts/different builds in. Sure everything is solved but at least it's fun
They remastered D2 so they could censor the game and sell it back to the players. I'm never forgiving these blizzard. Ever. Frick this company and the fricking homosexuals still playing their trash. KYS moron.
who asked for your forgiveness lmao keep crying b***h homie
just toggle to the old graphics you dumb b***h.
Nobody cares about your failed cash shop vector. Even fricking normalgays don't care. Its over. Its dead. Move on.
>NOOO YOU CANT PLAY GAME BECAUSE... UMMM... YOU JUST CANT
>SEASON OF ????????? LEADERBOARDS
what the frick does that even mean? It's not even death metal album font, I dont think that even says anything
yeah op is a gay, refer to here
>Diablo
>Competitive always online leaderboards
homie just go kill some demons
>leaderboards
D4 is Black shit but those have been in d2 since 20 years ago.
The whole dev team needs to be fired.
kek after all those years the "blizzdrones eats whatever blizz shits on their plate" is still perfectly on point
It didn’t flop. It made more money than D3. Blizzdrones aren’t human, they will NEVER stop giving Blizzard their money, even if they only play the game for five minutes.
>season revolves around a fricking robot
lmao diablo is totally not WoW btw
gothic horror btw
so like, did they change the aspect system? or at least add more stash tabs?
no to aspect system, probably next season. yes to stash tabs, getting a second +1 with season 3
Every dead online game is a positive step forward for gaming as a whole
You can't even reach LV100 without investing hundreds of hours. That alone tells you everything you need.
the seasons are a joke
they just had to copy poe and they can't even do that
>why did it flop so hard?
You can play better games like PoE, LE, or GD and not pay a $70 entry fee
I played Diablo 2 on/off over the years. I remember when it first came out and the cow level of course. I never got into the game so much that I looked up builds or how to fuse items together to become op. Just always played the game on normal mode, beat it, hung around the camp and chatted. Need to replay it soon
Did they add matchmaking yet?
