I tried both betas and couldn’t get past lvl 16, not sure if game was boring or necro and Druid were just sleeper classes.

Combat is balanced pretty much exactly like Diablo 3, so no real usage of the dodge roll mechanic or countering enemies, just 1 shot aoe the entire screen and use a movement ability to the next screen.
After them botching reforged and overwatch 2 pve, their promises on seasonal story content drops will very obviously be dropped like everything else.
The game will definitely sell well on name alone, but the incredible amount of issues that the game and blizzard in general has is going to cause the continued support for this live service game to be one of the worst in the AAA industry. This game will make destiny 2 look enjoyable.

With my necromancer and sorcerer I was fully immune during every bossfight while I killed all enemies on screen
The problem here is that you are only thinking about level 20 gameplay. I am thinking about level 100 endgame gameplay. The roll mechanic is going to be insanely valuable for when we're going against later bosses that have actual big mechanics. We already saw how good it is for something like Ashava.
This is a very poor take, the games systems were very poorly designed in the early game because of the multiplicative powers of legendaries and the devs complete oversight in how they will be used together
This is why people complained about druid and barbarian, a lot of their power was located on legendaries, so Diablo 4 will feel bad for a large part of your gameplay with them until you get GG legendaries(that you have to keep replacing) that effortlessly let you complete torment nightmare sigil content.
I played a thorn barbarian because it was obvious that it was the only build that wasn't dependent on legendaries, I was taunting and bosses killed themselves on my thorns while I afk'd on stream

D2 feels fricking awful for the first 20 levels for a ton of classes/builds, yet it changes and becomes awesome later on once your build comes "online".
That's how these types of games should be. PoE developers understand that. Maybe D4 will be good, but I'm willing to bet they will cater to the casual audience who want instant gratification.

I bought it with blizzardbucks that I got from the WoW days and I kind of regret it, I don't really care for it. But then again, this is probably the last time I'll get to spend those blizzardbucks before the company goes bankrupt.
I think most of the vocal hate was from people who recognized that D3 was designed from the start around pushing people into using the real money auction house in order to progress at end-game. Then the clusterfrick that resulted when a couple classes were able to beat it far earlier than intended only for Blizzard to nerf the tools they used into the ground effectively pulling the ladder up on 99.9% of the player base who were then even more incentivized to just buy the gear farmed by the people who got to act 4 early. There was a point where just getting someone to invite you into act 3 and farming gear by breaking rubble was faster progression than actually trying to clear act 2 normally.
As foul as the game was designed, the truth is it never really mattered for the vast majority of players. Casuals are the bulk of purchases and they rarely even beat the games they buy, much less beat the same game 3 times just to get to the actual end-game.

Now we have D4 come around and since playing the beta I can honestly say it wasn't anything special and even if it was it has almost no chance at getting any goodwill back in their court or otherwise stopping the nosedive the developer is in. Combat is balanced pretty much exactly like Diablo 3, so no real usage of the dodge roll mechanic or countering enemies, just 1 shot aoe the entire screen and use a movement ability to the next screen.
After them botching reforged and overwatch 2 pve, their promises on seasonal story content drops will very obviously be dropped like everything else.
The game will definitely sell well on name alone, but the incredible amount of issues that the game and blizzard in general has is going to cause the continued support for this live service game to be one of the worst in the AAA industry. This game will make destiny 2 look enjoyable.

What the frick are you talking about? The dodge mechanic is insanely good for bosses, world bosses and elites. It's one of the few things that they have done right.
If you are using the dodge roll mechanic at all, you are using a terrible build.
With my necromancer and sorcerer I was fully immune during every bossfight while I killed all enemies on screen
The problem here is that you are only thinking about level 20 gameplay. I am thinking about level 100 endgame gameplay. The roll mechanic is going to be insanely valuable for when we're going against later bosses that have actual big mechanics. We already saw how good it is for something like Ashava.
This is a very poor take, the games systems were very poorly designed in the early game because of the multiplicative powers of legendaries and the devs complete oversight in how they will be used together
This is why people complained about druid and barbarian, a lot of their power was located on legendaries, so Diablo 4 will feel bad for a large part of your gameplay with them until you get GG legendaries(that you have to keep replacing) that effortlessly let you complete torment nightmare sigil content.
I played a thorn barbarian because it was obvious that it was the only build that wasn't dependent on legendaries, I was taunting and bosses killed themselves on my thorns while I afk'd on stream

D2 feels fricking awful for the first 20 levels for a ton of classes/builds, yet it changes and becomes awesome later on once your build comes "online".
That's how these types of games should be. PoE developers understand that. Maybe D4 will be good, but I'm willing to bet they will cater to the casual audience who want instant gratification.

I think most of the vocal hate was from people who recognized that D3 was designed from the start around pushing people into using the real money auction house in order to progress at end-game. Then the clusterfrick that resulted when a couple classes were able to beat it far earlier than intended only for Blizzard to nerf the tools they used into the ground effectively pulling the ladder up on 99.9% of the player base who were then even more incentivized to just buy the gear farmed by the people who got to act 4 early. There was a point where just getting someone to invite you into act 3 and farming gear by breaking rubble was faster progression than actually trying to clear act 2 normally.
As foul as the game was designed, the truth is it never really mattered for the vast majority of players. Casuals are the bulk of purchases and they rarely even beat the games they buy, much less beat the same game 3 times just to get to the actual end-game.
