I played D2 back when it came out and I could never get into it. I just dropped the game and played more Command & Conquer and Age of Empires Mythology.

This, I've put about 200 hours into D4 from the closed beta and the open betas. Nostalgiabait has held blizzard back from making a decent new game. It unironically made me want to boot up D3 and play my monk again. At least that game I can clear a rift in about a min.
All the companies doing remakes are destroying their brand. They are trading old customers for younger ones instead of making a new product that would keep both.

I enjoyed Diablo 1, 2 and even 3 to a certain degree. But this one doesn't feel like a comfy Diablo game that I can play alone at my own pace. It feels like an MMO, it's obviously always-online and full of social/online-oriented mechanics and everything seems based around FOMO even already in the beta.
Maybe I'm old but having to play a beta-test for several hours with a character that will be deleted to have access to a special skin does the opposite of giving me an incentive to play.
I don't persuade myself that everything is garbage as is customary here though. It runs great on my machine, I like the graphics, the atmosphere, the gameplay and I'm pretty sure it'll be a great game. I guess this kind of games is just not for me anymore.

The music is generic and shit. The cinematics look worse than the in-game SC2 ones. The story is unengaging, the voice acting is bad. Enemies spawn out of the fricking ground for some reason, as though they were zombies. Every boss does some gay WoW attack where they make swirlies on the ground.
The UI is littered with 10 billion pieces of useless information. There's a million little gameplay aspects they've dumped on top of each other and they all have nonsensical icons and fonts. You can't move the minimap. It's always online and you see other players, but you don't interact with them.

They wanted to make a new MMORPG for years now. Just look at Project Titan.
Got my Druid to lvl 20. I started out as a Werebear, but found that while it had no problem clearing low health enemies, anything with high health was a pain, especially bosses. They just took forever. Swapped to a Werewolf/Poison build and that's been much better. It's more resilient and it has much better solo damage, while also being able to screen clear.

its expected that you have a lot of legendaries and a basic level of ffxiv-style hand eye coordination. i went in without too many legendaries and got it to 1/5 hp left with my group dying constantly. the attacks are easy enough to adjust to.

People died quite often but so what, it only takes 3 sec to be back in the fight so I refuse to believe that this hurt our damage. It's not balanced very well. Its because in the last beta it was easy to be fully decked out in legendaries by lv 25. Also you were lv 25 instead of 20. I have literally not seen a single legendary drop, and only managed to get 1 off the gambler.
And the Ashava group I got had lv 15-16 people in it, didn't even get the b***h to 50%. So probably fricked on the trophy. I remember people still only barely killing it with 1-2mins left, when everyone was 25 with full legendaries. KWAB.

Question about Barb (and I guess anyone that uses multiple weapons), are the weapon stats local? Do they matter only when you use that weapon for attacking? For example, let's say I get a 2-handed mace that gives extra vuln damage, will that extra damage count for my 2-handed sword's damage?

No. Apparently the ability to assign weapons is locked behind the class quest you can't do so the weapons will auto-pick, but it should auto-pick the best weapon(s) you have.
The weapons you attack with are the stat stick you get.

So I went into this hoping the game would be challenging and fun, and I was wrong. I also hoped that higher difficulty would be unlockable without beating the game, but that also appears to be wrong. Could someone explain to me why the frick I have to cruise control through a boring fricking AAA game before I can actually make it challenging and t(herefore) fun?

So there's a challenging world boss, that doesnt change my point that the main campaign is a fricking snooze fest. I honestly feel like you're all drinking crazy juice or I'm just missing something. Diablo 3 had a 20~ hour campaign, so lets say this is about the same. Do you guys really plan to pay fricking $75 to play mind numbing gameplay for almost an entire day of your life just to get to the point where you can make it a challenge?
Ashava is the boringest piece of shit I've ever fought. It's a 10 minute slog with an uninteresting battle.

Yeah so not only do you have to get lucky and hope you got into the instance with people who have gear, know what they're doing and aren't playing necromancer or otherwise leeching, but you also have to stay up all today and tomorrow to catch the spawns, and hope one of them is the lucky instance in which you get people who can actually clear.
Yeah maybe like 5% are getting that trophy and the salt is going to be ridiculous.

Sorc has 24 possible enchants, and everyone goes Fireball because it's so good it literally turns sorc from slog to murder machine
Meanwhile 22 other enchants are dogshit that have almost no noticeable impact during gameplay, there's not a single enchant that's really good for single target damage, and the only worthwhile non-Fireball one is Flame Shield because it's a free death save for hardcore players

What a shitshow. The skeletons start off weak as frick in all aspects and continue to fall harder as enemies scale, and your summons, apparently, don't. Your summon turns into a buff/heal once you hit summon cap doesn't heal quickly, so if you wanna heal your summons, you have to sit and wait for the fricking thing to tick, or whatever. I'd rather just resummon them at this point. Fricking Christ.
Not even gonna bother leveling to fight the world boss. This is complete antifun, and I don't give a shit about the mount. Wish my friends would play better games so I didn't have to choose between playing garbage or not playing with them.

Game looks pretty but was also really boring. You just feel a lot weaker as you level up, I'm not sure if its because blizzard sucks at balancing their game, the level cap, or how I'm lvl 20 but nothing but level 10-12 gear drops.
I do think they should make that ironmaiden mech thing that guy was using at the end of the chapter a class though, that was really cool.
