They have specifically said that the first season won't start until like 30 days after release or so, to eliminate any kind of advantage from people with headstarts.

Not true. They have said that it will be balanced and even gave examples of a handful of armors where the general consensus was that some of the non-paid cosmetics actually looked better than the paid equivalent.

They are delaying sets because they want to get the balancing done properly, instead of ending up in another D3 situation where sets become mandatory due to giving 10000% increase to X. I am assuming they will probably arrive in season 2.

The game is likely gonna be played for the next 10 years with tons of updates(new big seasons every 3 months) and expansion packs. There's a 99.99% chance we will see Diablo at some point.

mmo elements are going to frick this up its going to be wow lite
mmo games like wow don't reset 4 times a year. it is going to borrow stuff from Lost Ark for sure but part of the reason that Lost Ark sideways content is so obnoxious is because its an mmo that doesn't reset any progress and makes money from whales through pay to win. the closest that D4 will get to "pay to win" is to charge money for stash space and new character class expansions. D4 will actually be really good, especially after a year or two of added seasonal content. Gankeredditors will not be able to cope.

Wait 30 days after it launches, check in on it and then see if you still want to play it. Blizzard has been fricking up left and right, and I doubt Diablo IV is going to be different. Don't buy D4 for what Blizzard promises in the future, buy it for what it actually has.
