I'm playing the game right now. Level scaling sucks. Having a game move the bar up or down to meet you is shit. The world should stay the same and the player should progress through it by becoming more powerful.
It's the difference between walking on ground and walking on a hamster wheel. I can move on the ground, the hamster wheel is just an illusion of movement.
It feels weird to me, sometimes I feel like on the verge of getting stomped and just barely staying alive, other times I’m steamrolling and finishing bosses and dungeons without even dropping to half hp
OP, playing a storm elemental druid
if the game was designed like how you suggest, then the zones would need to be level based. which means if you're level 70+ you're stuck in one tiny corner of the map for the next 100 hours.
that would be incredibly gay
level scaling is fricking horrible. feels like you're on a hamster wheel. Leveling up is pointless.
moronic shit.
has anyone complaining about this ever actually played the game
you definitely kill shit faster at 50+ then you ever did at 20-50 if you actually know what the frick you are doing, esepcially once you get Sacred/Ancestral gear
>has anyone complaining about this ever actually played the game
yes, all the people who no life it, and play it professionally have said it's shit scaling that makes levelling up detrimental every time. they know more than you, and they play more than you, and get paid for it.
yeah this isn't true at all, if level scaling was as brutal as you try to make it seem then no one would be running Nightmare Dungeons that add 20+ levels to every mob in it
nobody said this and you haven't played the game
why are you spending your saturday night seething about a game you don't even fricking play you absolute loser
go take a long hard look at yourself in a mirror, i'm serious
peak mental illness
Once you min-maxed your gear, with each level up you can feel monsters getting fatter, but your damage stays the same. Paragon can't keep up. It's not a huge problem since you're doing giga damage anyway, but you can def feel it which is weird.
That's because you are moronic and don't understand how the difficulty works.
WT1/2 is level 50 monsters down leveled to your level until you hit 50. That is the actual monster level. Nightmare is level 70 monsters. Torment is level 100. All areas have a minimum level in each difficulty. They don't scale past their "maximum" level.
Going back to wt1 to help friends and raping everything's butthole just like d2.
I'm over 55+ and scaling is trash, it feels good when you start a tier and get your sacred shit, until the mobs overscale you again. You never feel strong.
>game is made for normies
Maybe if they only ever engage in leveling there character to max out battle pass.
This game is just a prostitute that loves normies for the money they are going to spend on power.
I stopped playing at lvl 60 when I realized everyone playing right now is playing “pre-season” and nothing will carry over. Yeah I’m gonna go outside and grill. Call me when I can okay the game.
In a game as simple as diablo 4 if you make a build that isn't the same as a meta build you're just moronic.
"what final talent should I pick for my whirlwind build, the one that increases my damage by 45% or the one that increases my damage by 135%?"
because its not a game for gameplay and fun
its a grindan clickan casino with exploitative mechanics deisgned to get you hooked and waste your time - thus people try to optimize it to get better results with least time/effort
tldr dont hate the player hate the game
there are only a few builds that are even viable. thats the difference between this and PoE. Sure you can have some fricked up build, but it wouldn't be anywhere near as strong as a current meta build.
Blizzard's insectile fans are legitimately so brainwashed that they'll purchase 100% of Blizzard's products without question and slavishly swear by the quality of them even as it's patently obvious they're playing garbage.
It doesn't work the same way at all. Check out some info on it online
When it says you get +50% resistance to a res, you can only get a miniscule fraction of that in actual effectiveness. It's a completely dogshit stat
It's called math, moron
100% unmitigated
Gain 40% mitigation from int
60% unmitigated
Equip a neck with 30%
Current unmitigated 0.6 times new mitigation 0.7
42% unmitigated
It's not diminishing returns, that neck is reducing 30% of the damage you would be taking with out it
Modern audience can't into resistances. Reducing it to just "Power", "Defense", and "Life" makes it much simpler to understand.
Which is why Path of Exile is doing so terribly, right? All those complicated systems totally don't appeal to the obsessive, autistic c**ts who play grindan games in the first place. Wide appeal is definitely the tactic to use when you're trying to hook whales, not targeting the OCD dickheads you want to get addicted with pointlessly convoluted systems.
No, really, this is the last fricking genre they need to dumb down for the player base. They are aiming for the Diablo Immortal audience, not the Diablo 2 audience.
I will admit diablo 1 has incredible atmosphere and I like the class smashing / setting in Titan Quest but other than that I think the genre is pretty shit for the most part
>Using Blizzard >Doesn't count as direct damage >Also doesn't count as damage over time
No wonder balance is utterly fricked up. They can't even get the basic stats and skills to work.
>streamcel finds a combination of things that makes a certain specific thing OP/exposes an oversight >instead of simply plugging the exploit, also nerf into the ground not only the thing that had a problen but also everything that was related to the problem, completely bricking multiple builds
Barbarian went from having 2 viable builds to NONE overnight. Barbarian is quite literally unplayable now on anything higher than early, early endgame stuff.
So whats Necromancer like? A friend has the game, and I might pick it up to play with'em, but he only plays meleeshit in any game so he's of no help when it comes to figuring out if Necro is fun or worth playing.
It's hard to compare since Necro is the only thing I have 50+, but they feel okay. Bonestorm + the legendary effect that consumes corpses to lengthen Bonestorm's effect + barrier on Bonestorm damage + CDR + CDR on Bone crits passive. I think those are the things you need to really get online - and, shit, I might be wrong on this, it's just what I use. Bone Spear to dump Essence, Corpse Explosion and Raise Dead to build Essence. Some effects and nightmare dungeon affixes will just straight up frick your pets and there's nothing you can really do about it other than to make sure you're healing them every 5 seconds and be prepared to dip if they get wrecked when you don't have a ton of corpses to reup on the skeleton front. Bone Spear fricks shit up once you have your stats lined up and a couple legendary effects supporting it.
It feels like less because you are on the down slope of the Gear curve.
Basically the entire first half of the game was getting more power and putting your lengdary affixes you wanted. AFter you are on the down slope regardless of what WT you are in
What's a good ARPG/Diablo-like for a guy who hasn't played Diablo but is interested?
I keep seeing these the most: >Diablo 2 >Grim Dawn >Last Epoch >Path of Exile >Chronicon
I've played GD with a friend but I didn't like the quests and I wasn't too into the builds and items. And I've played Chronicon but got bored after beating the campaign. Should I try any of the others (if so which one) or any other game, or maybe try Grim Dawn with DLCs?
What builds moron
>calls others moronic
>is actually the moron
that's not even a build though. could be his loadout in CoD (Activision-Blizzard) in all honesty
Blizzard's builds, duh
>min/maxgays not allowed
>global world scaling means only top tier min maxed builds can survive
>game is made for normies
interesting decision.
level scaling is fricking horrible. feels like you're on a hamster wheel. Leveling up is pointless.
moronic shit.
i get what you're saying, but you do get more skills to branch out and deal with the ever-scaling monsters more effectively. /shrug
I'm playing the game right now. Level scaling sucks. Having a game move the bar up or down to meet you is shit. The world should stay the same and the player should progress through it by becoming more powerful.

There are plenty of ways to design endgame content without level scaling. PoE did it. Granted, PoE is very gimmick-heavy at this point.
has anyone complaining about this ever actually played the game
you definitely kill shit faster at 50+ then you ever did at 20-50 if you actually know what the frick you are doing, esepcially once you get Sacred/Ancestral gear

oh ok, as long as you know better than everyone else. share your build with them, they need correcting.
"no i didnt play the game im crying about on Ganker"
nobody said this and you haven't played the game
why are you spending your saturday night seething about a game you don't even fricking play you absolute loser

What about what Kripp says here is incorrect?
Seems spot on to me
?t=927
I'm over 55+ and scaling is trash, it feels good when you start a tier and get your sacred shit, until the mobs overscale you again. You never feel strong.
The monsters gain a single level its barely anything. I'm doing nightmare dungeons 8 levels above me no problem, open world shit is baby tier.
Min/maxing is for normies cause all you do is google what the best build is and then put your points where the website tells you, no thought required.
>game is made for normies
Maybe if they only ever engage in leveling there character to max out battle pass.
This game is just a prostitute that loves normies for the money they are going to spend on power.
>Builds
"build" implies you can gimp yourself by building incorrectly, which is near impossible in nuDiablo
Nudiablo doesnt allow you to make your own choices tho. Its either have a build, or get rekt
I stopped playing at lvl 60 when I realized everyone playing right now is playing “pre-season” and nothing will carry over. Yeah I’m gonna go outside and grill. Call me when I can okay the game.
>nothing will carry over
Say what
Complaining that playing on ladder resets his progress.
actually Atlar's of Lilith are permanent, possibly the non gold/xp Renown awards as well (they have been going back and forth on that one)
I can't wait for diablo 5 when they just have one stat POWER
How's the game on PS5?
Plays fine on PS4 with SSD, so better than fine.
Pretty perfect, my fatass titcow wife and I have been playing couch co-op on the PS5 all day.
In a game as simple as diablo 4 if you make a build that isn't the same as a meta build you're just moronic.
"what final talent should I pick for my whirlwind build, the one that increases my damage by 45% or the one that increases my damage by 135%?"

YouTube/twitch/the internet killed gaming
Frick you zoomie homosexuals

remind me why Ganker is playing this shitheap of a game after the shitstorm when blizzard tried to make it mobile only
Blizzard's insectile fans are legitimately so brainwashed that they'll purchase 100% of Blizzard's products without question and slavishly swear by the quality of them even as it's patently obvious they're playing garbage.
how are you not max level yet? its been a fricking week + you slow ass mother fricker.
What's the point of rushing there's nothing at max level
remember to stoke the fire.
What's the point of doing that
it keeps you warm
gives you a 15% xp buff. seriously.
>attack
>defense
>life
what a garbage game.
wait until you find out what they did to elemental resistances... kek
You mean how they still work just like they did back in D2?
It doesn't work the same way at all. Check out some info on it online
When it says you get +50% resistance to a res, you can only get a miniscule fraction of that in actual effectiveness. It's a completely dogshit stat

>50% resistance provides a >2% actual dmage mitigation
wtf were they thinking??
Modern audience can't into resistances. Reducing it to just "Power", "Defense", and "Life" makes it much simpler to understand.
diablo players get the slop they deserve
Which is why Path of Exile is doing so terribly, right? All those complicated systems totally don't appeal to the obsessive, autistic c**ts who play grindan games in the first place. >POE
>doing terrible
lol
Sometimes when people write one thing what the actual intent of their words is a different thing. This is a difficult concept for the autistic I know.
>builds
AHAHAHAHAHAHAH
>Reply
wild how this image is over a decade old but just becomes more true each year
>level 70
>still find the exact same shit as on 30 just with increased stats
what was the point then?
there's no point to games like these except
>big number dopamine feel good
play better ARPGs
I will admit diablo 1 has incredible atmosphere and I like the class smashing / setting in Titan Quest but other than that I think the genre is pretty shit for the most part
First diablo?
>Using Blizzard
>Doesn't count as direct damage
>Also doesn't count as damage over time
No wonder balance is utterly fricked up. They can't even get the basic stats and skills to work.
Is Druid any fun? Become a werewolf or werebear seems based
the game is braindead to the point where investing time into a build is just silly
>Have 50% resistance
>Reduced damage by 25%
Who the frick thought this was a good idea?
>streamcel finds a combination of things that makes a certain specific thing OP/exposes an oversight
>instead of simply plugging the exploit, also nerf into the ground not only the thing that had a problen but also everything that was related to the problem, completely bricking multiple builds
Barbarian went from having 2 viable builds to NONE overnight. Barbarian is quite literally unplayable now on anything higher than early, early endgame stuff.
Barb is S+ tier in endgame along with druid. You are fricking high.
Redpill me on the druid please.
they're fat and stinky.
That was before they disabled yet another of the aspects it needed to function
>Druid
>Viable in Endgame
Druid is viable if the stars align and you get perfect legendaries.
Which is funny because before you get anything Druids are squishy as frick because the few defensive skills they have are all contradictory.
Druids are literally the best class in the game by an ENORMOUS margin endgame moron.
False, Sorcerers are, by far
Sorc does not have near permanent Unstoppable while being unklillable and doing moron amounts of damage.
is that Druid or Barb
>Just finished act 2
>Already level 50
It's like they didn't even expect anyone to do anything other than B-line the story.
its called side content for a reason
i don't know what class to play. it's frustrating that supposedly a class at level 15 feels completely different from one at level 60.
So whats Necromancer like? A friend has the game, and I might pick it up to play with'em, but he only plays meleeshit in any game so he's of no help when it comes to figuring out if Necro is fun or worth playing.

Bone Spear fricks shit up once you have your stats lined up and a couple legendary effects supporting it.
Did they nerf the drop rates recently? I've been finding jack squat for the past day.
It feels like less because you are on the down slope of the Gear curve.
Basically the entire first half of the game was getting more power and putting your lengdary affixes you wanted. AFter you are on the down slope regardless of what WT you are in

Your trash
