Plays like the classic MMs 1-5 and feels like a cheap shovelware. After playing 6-8 it feels very underwhelming and a completely different game since Ubisoft decided to frick up the setting by ditching everything interesting in it for generic tolkienish middle age fantasy. I'd rather play 3 and 5 and forget X even exists.
It's not really bad
it's really OK
That said I consider myself a blobber liker and I couldn't even make myself play the DLC because I was too done with the base game.
Is this the one where competing npcs roam around on their own like in The 7th Saga? Or am I thinking of something else?

Did anyone here play this, is it really bad?
I played this for a few hours just a few months ago and I don't remember anything about it at all. I still remember the Xeen games and wish I had the sense to pick them back up and really devote time to them. But X, I remember being annoyed with the city, going down a well, not liking how dungeons worked, can't remember why. The whole experience was utterly forgettable.
MMX plays like a very poor imitation of Might and Magic 3 - 5 with shovelware assets and a lack of an open world. I thought it was just "ok" but calling it forgettable is very accurate. You should try playing Xeen again, anon. That game is excellent.
Played through it several times. Buggy as shit, doesn't hold a candle to anything before 8.... but is still mildly entertaining. I have fun with it despite its problems.
Yeah its terrible.
Your group becomes overpowered very fast and just destroys everything.
World building is shit, there is no freedom of action, all cool shit like flight is gone because they couldnt be bothered to properly model the world.
It plays like a cheap mobile game.
Story is also a complete nonsense.
It's not as charming or as open as previous games in the series, but it's a good dungeon crawler nonetheless. The combat is mechanically solid and retains the M&M sense of progression.
>Your group becomes overpowered very fast and just destroys everything.
That's in line with most of the series
It's pretty decent if you have nothing else to play. I'd give it a high 6 - low 7/10. The bugs and lack of a truly open world hold it back compared to the other M&M games.
I played it, but I didn't go far beyond the second dungeon before I got bored. The one thing weirded me out tho. Quite close to the first town I found a cave with a freaking dark elf city with a black dragon guarding it. What the frick was that?
There are a lot of monster boss mobs that drop unique items. Some of them level up with you, too, and it's pretty fun to collect them all. They're like the relics from the other MM's.
runs like crap, but I liked the combat a lot
Did they patch anything?
it's better than IX at least

I was with you until you started spouting words that you dont understand the meaning of.
Opinion discarded.
But it's true. They scrapped the sci-fi completely and everything after that feels like playing a Rhapsody album.
they did that back before Ubisoft bought it when they axed the world in HOMM IV
You are talking to people that never played a HoMM game and only the RPGs

Hated 9, never bothered with 10.
I'm replaying 8 now and it's still so good.

You are probably thinking of Wizardry VII
Isn't this the game with some kind of online element that's been deactivated that makes it impossible to play?
I can't confirm or deny it because I haven't logged into my Ubisoft account in like 7 years
no
>t. pirated it a few months ago
those russians on that steam game website are reliable
