This generation is the first one to use the same human model regardless of what the player chooses at the start of the game. The only difference is what clothes they start the game with.
It's ugly but the technical problems are overstated. It is just a dull as frick open world. The only upside is challenging gym leaders in whatever order you want.
If you played the game you would know this is technically false as the game does not scale the levels.
you can still do whatever order you want, it just isn't feasible for most players. I did the titan and team star quests before the gym leaders, and i had a level 100 gyarados by the time i started the gym challenge.
True. As a kid I thought that getting any pokemon past the gym badge restriction would mean it wouldn't okay me. So I guess I unknowingly made my own difficulty. Erika with a bunch of level 20s was never easy
S&V are mixed as frick, the actual gameplay is really fun, the gimmick is the least busted of the bunch, and whether people like it or not it has the "best" writing since gen 5 (low bar all around on this front) but the performance is bad ans the graphics (if you care about that) are ugly as hell
>the gimmick is the least busted of the bunch
Is it? I'm not big into competitive by any stretch but 3 type stab and the ability to just change to a brand new type out of nowhere seems kinda strong
Tera makes decent pokemon viable, but it also makes already strong pokemon even stronger so people tend to only use Tera on a strong mon, and if they use a "weak" mon as their tera good chances are that the entire team revolves around that pokemon
Not quite. Mega boosts stats by 100 points and often times changed a pokemons ability. Honestly a lot of pokemon that got megas didn't need them, and the ones that did need them should have just gotten them as a standard evolution, like Mawhile, Meditite, and Sableye. Also very few pokemon had megas. Every pokemon can tera and make itself better.
I always hated how when X/Y were coming out, it was kinda said it was to give weaker pokemon more viability but then they started handing megas to pseudo & legendaries. It would've been cool for a few so they'd be like, super epic but they went crazy with it

>48 mega evos >4 of them to pseudos >6 of them to legendaries >38 for shitmons like charizard, beedrill, pidgeot, mawile, glalie, kangaskhan, lopunny and aggron
this argument has always been strange to me, but I guess I'd need to also know what mons "didn't need it".

Garchomp for one. It's actively said that Mega Garchomp makes him worse.

None of the pseudos that got one needed it. Tyranitar, Salamence and Garchomp didn't need one, and in the case of Garchomp, Flygon should have got one instead. If any previous pseudo needed one, it was Dragonite. Metagross is borderline, but it was probably fine without one, they only gave it one because Steven Stone uses a Metagross. None of the legendary pokemon needed one except maybe Diancie because it's actually connected to the lore of the mega evolutions.

ok but that's still a relatively small amount of megas you have an issue with. they were hardly handing them out like candy or going crazy with the pseudos and legendaries specifically and I think it did achieve making weaker pokemon more viable. I'm sure it feels that way because they marketed the popular mons more, but it just doesn't make sense to me as a serious complaint by the numbers.

What do you mean? When mega pokemon were introduced, there were only 6 pseudos not counting goodra, and they gave 4 of them mega evolutions. Pseudos are notoriously strong, and they gave 66.7% of them mega evolutions for no reason. Mewtwo certainly didn't need one, let alone two, and rayquaza didn't need one either. Primal Kyogre and Groudon didn't need those reversions, and to top it off, you could have a Primal on the same team as a Mega.

Mega-Evolution was always a popularity contest, they never hid this.
Personally, I think we needed more Megas for more popular Pokémon. >but but the balance

Not always.
No one can say that things like Pinsir, Lopunny, or Sableye had high stats. They won Megas not because they are good in game, but because people like them.

Pinsir and lopunny are only good on an in game playthough. Sableye isn't good at all, at least not until it got prankster. Arguably mega pinsir isn't even good anyway.

I think megas weren't supposed to disappear, originally. I think they anticipated it being the final cure to balance. Pokemon too weak? Give it a mega! Still too weak? Try giving it a different mega!

They weren't supposed to disappear, but they weren't intended as a balancing mechanism either. The reason they got rid of them is because they resulted in comical levels of centralization in VGC and there was just no way to solve the problem with the 1 per team rule.

Some of them are cool, some of them feel pointless. Alolan Ninetails felt pretty naturally like what Ninetails should have been in the first place, but giving Meowth and Farfetch'd galarian forms that both evolve into entirely new pokemon was moronic. Especially since they could have just given regular Farfetch'd that evolution in the first place.

Depends: Some designs are pretty cool and I would say are better than the original.
Some are just lazy.
>Black person what the FRICK >No flat 100 stat boost, broken abilities abd shillmom getting even stronger >No HP sponge with every attack being a stat boost of some kind for 3 whole turns
I guess Z moves you can argue are less broken than tera but Z moves are boring as frick nuke moves with I still think are worse than Tera in other ways
>can turn into whatever type you want defensively, giving pretty much any pokemon the ability to spend a turn safely on virtually ANY battlefield >can turn into whatever type you want OFFENSIVELY, giving any Pokemon with a half-decent coverage option the ability to go from threatening a KO in 2-3 turns to threatening it in 1-2 turns >making your tera type inherently a choice, risk/reward style, makes them WAY better than dynamax at least, but both the above points stem from the fact that you can use it on any Pokemon at any time >it's basically a one-turn "frick you" button unless you're a moronic toddler who uses it to make your starter's main type better or a mega-pro who sees eight turns ahead at all times >unlike megas which were just a highly optimized tier of new Pokemon, essentially
scarlet/violet are unironically the best game in the entire series
playing it right now on pc
no other pokemon game has such fun gameplay
the visuals are the only downside, but a simple reshade mod makes the experience better for me
You know what's pathetic? Cutting off your dick and getting mad on twitter when people mock you. I don't know why you people still get tricked into thinking that will work.
I don't understand how these guys are backed by the creators of the exclusive console they're developing for and still manage to make it look and run like shit.
In the new pokemon snap game, there's a part in the first level where a pidgeot will swoop down and snatch a magikarp from the water. So they're not necessarily opposed to doing that.
it just moved to the nearest path node, morons probably forgot to separate water from ground nodes or forgot to exclude magikarp/fish pokemon in general
the first one has but the next one comes out december 14. The first one had a pretty quick little story but the region wasn't particularly interesting. The second dlc follows up on the story of the first I believe.
She’s lonely because no one will battle her because of how good she is. So she loves (you) because you actually will battle her. You learn this in the post game scenes.
She's basically you from other games where she's reached the top and has no one to rival you. So she's training you to be a challenge or even defeat her.
A fun game is not necessarily good.
Runs like shit, looks like shit, which was the main problem with the game when it came out, a buggy mess that barely ran without crashing is not good, but yes, it's kinda fun.
fun but very very very flawed and could have been so much better if gamefreak wasn't incompetent
the majority of the enjoyment i got from this game was because i played with friends and i know that if i didn't i probably wouldn't have finished it
I like it. It deserves all the criticism it gets, but the complete open world is a good direction and at the very least shows some level of ambition and desire to expand on the formula in a big way. Doesn't excuse the performance AT ALL, but I'm still happy with the direction overall and am having fun with the game.
I'm at 240 hours played. Will probably be 250 by the time the DLC part 2 is out. Pic is me and my team.
Only morons bother trying to use special balls to catch pokemon more easily. The only cave pokemon that should ever be in a dusk ball is zygarde. I personally catch literally everything in premier balls though.

easy game
every game >>game without Grinding
every game after X and Y
game
every game except scarlet and violet >>game without exploration
every game. scarlet and violet might be open world but everything is marked on the map >>game where it is impossible to get stuck
every game except brilliand diamond and shining pearl because it's actually super easy to get softlocked if your walking pokemon blocks you in to a corner >>game where leveling up is ultra easy
every game except gold and silver >>non-competitive pokemon game
none of them are inherently competitive >>game for casual gamers
every game >>game where you never need to use strategies
every game >>game that is even easier than Let's Go Pikachu/ Let's Go Eevee
every game except let's go pikachu and let's go eevee
Sun and Moon are fine too as long as you're okay with 10 hours of cutscenes. People talk shit on XY but they were fine for what they were. The only real problem I have with that generation is that they never made the usual third version because gamefreak was trying and failing to make some new game franchises to compete because they were getting tired of making pokemon.
pokemon doesn't have placeholder textures. in XY you start out the game in your bedroom wearing pajamas, and you have to change into actual clothes in order to leave the first town. If you cheat to bypass that dialog and continue wearing pajamas, when you get in to a battle, your character will just be a floating head because the game doesn't have any battle texture for the pajamas outfit instead of just defaulting to the standard outfit.
I played it but was so disgusted I finally dropped pokemon. The dlc is the first pokemon game I haven't bought and I don't plan on starting again. If they make another Legends game then I'll probably play that, but mainline and remakes are dead to me.

What the frick are you talking about? Legends is supposed to happen in the equivalent of the early 1900s, it's not some shit happening thousands of years ago.
>Why is Mr. Mime mimikcing a modern person?
Maybe in the pokemon world, mimes styled themselves after Mr Mime? People always ask "why would a wild pokemon like amoongus look like a pokeball" but there are several things in the game that imply that pokeballs were actually modeled after amoongus instead.
Pokeballs with that design aren't that old according to legends arceus, it wouldn't have evolved in that time. I think a pokedex entry somewhere says that the pokeball company liked the design on amoongus.

I have my problems with every gen, but at least I can say that I felt compelled to actually finish every Pokemon game I played up until SwSh. SV and Arceus, despite being the most "innovative" entries according to apologists, were so braindead and boring that I didn't even make it to the first gym. Total garbage game.
>Game screams at me if I dare step even one foot off the beaten path to explore or look around, forcing me back on rails
What the hell am I reading, the whole point of the game is that you are given three different quests and you can complete them in the order you want. It's one of the few positives of the game.
Not for the first couple hours it doesn't. I didn't make it to whatever you're describing because I got bored. An npc will give you some moronic order in order to tutorialize you on crafting, battling, catching, etc. and if you have the audacity to go look around for a minute first you'll get scolded and teleported backwards until you do as they say.
If freedom was so important in SV then maybe they should've led with that instead of making an introduction that somehow managed to be more restrictive and boring than Ultra Sun/Moon.
Admittedly my 2 hour estimate was because I actually took the time to explore the first area after finally being unrestricted, which turned out to just be a break between some more tutorials. If you go pretty quickly and just do everything the game asks then it's probably closer to 30 minutes or so, but it was still too much to bear for what was advertised to me by Gamefreak themselves as the most open and free Pokemon experience to date.
>If freedom was so important in SV then maybe they should've led with that
It does after the tutorial, of course the tutorial is linear.
>of course the tutorial is linear
The frick do you mean "of course"? A tutorial doesn't have to be linear, and it definitely doesn't have to be several times longer than the ones from earlier generations, especially since it's not like SV is much more complex than RBY. With how hard Gamefreak has been trying to ape BotW in recent releases you'd think copying its non-linear, open-ended tutorial area would be pretty high priority.
>A tutorial doesn't have to be linear
Which games have a completely free open ended tutorial that lets you do whatever you want like in the game?
How do you even make a tutorial if you aren't telling the player "do this and do that"?

Seyda Neen in Morrowind and Goodsprings in New Vegas give you free reign once you finish character creation, and there are a myriad of optional quests that build on the world, characters and mechanics if you choose to do them. There's also any Souls game that has that shit optional and only tells you controls as non-intrusive signs.
Pokemon is nearing 30 years old and any moron can understand how catching and battling works. The fact that there's still no choice to opt out of tutorials and you're forced onto the 1-2 hour enforced speech segway until you can start playing YOUR adventure is nauseating.

Even though these games are primarily played by 40 year old men and 30 year old women, they are still designed primarily for children. Is it moronic that there's no option to opt out of childish features? Yes. Does it make sense from a design standpoint? Kinda.

I'd agree if the mechanics actually required explaining to that degree. You pick the attack in a freeze frame turn based battle, and you DEFINITELY choose the one that says "SUPER EFFECTIVE!" You have pokeballs that hold the pokemon and you clearly throw them at the pokemon. It's ridiculously basic, moreso when compared to other shit kids are playing like Minecraft, Fortnite and even a Mario game that doesn't explain most of the shit residing in those titles.
It's a problem and not understandable because Gamefreak genuinely believes their audience is full of braindead morons that probably had more difficulty purchasing the game than actually playing it, and yeah for funny sake we can agree with that sentiment, but that doesn't stop their game from being shit.

No it doesn't, Sword and Shield combine the worst of SV with the worst of USUM.
And that's saying something considering SV aren't good at all.
>scrap positive ideas and gameplay systems from previous generations
I done think any Pokemon game has introduced a single good idea or gamplay system since contests in Ruby and Sapphire.
Online in Pokemon is cancer because it incentivises version exclusives and also ignoring the creation of endgame content since they can just go "hurr go play online battles".
If there's one thing Legends did good was removing all online components.

To be fair, you do need to get lucky with which team mates you randomly wind up with. I kept getting weaviles on my team during the hisui typhlosion raids
One endless/repeatable thing with a handful of rewards isn't the kind of endgame content people are clamoring for.
They want an RPG endgame. A bonus campaign that only makes sense with the main story resolved, a few "superbosses" that introduce difficulty even to a player with maxed stats and levels, that kind of thing.
Something that has been chipped away at since gen 6. Gen 6 had the looker missions, which were completely self-contained and didn't use the region at all, a handful of additional postgame areas, and a battle tower equivalent, arguably the best one in the series but still a battle tower equivalent and thus still substandard. Gen 7 had ultra space, which was neat, and a handful of postgame story nuggets. Gen 8 had a very brief campaign consisting of a couple of max raids in gyms, and then a battle tower. And max raids I guess. Gen 9... didn't even have the battle tower. It had the gym tournament (one time, btw) and tera raids. That's IT.

>bruh gen 7 didn't have gyms or an official league.
But Gen 7 does have a league, it just didn't exist when the game started.
I'm talking about a League Challenge being removed in its entirety. Nothing to replace it. That means nothing similar to the Island Challenge/Totem Pokemon.
>Gen 7 doesn't have a national dex even though you still could transfer Pokemon over. The point is that if you weren't transferring them over to use them in battle, having them in the game was pointless.
Gen 8 featured the infamous dexit.
>Gen 8 has the easiest and simplest rendition of the Battle Tower yet to the point where you can use Box Legends for it.
Gen 9 has no Battle Tower equlivant
>Gen 9 puts way less emphasis on the Pokemon League to the point where it has to share the plot with two other unrelated stories. The game doesn't even end once you beat the champion/champion equivalent unlike all the other non-Legends Arceus entres.
So that means Gen 10 will...
>>god forbid the enemy uses an attack that gives multiple stat changes in one turn
It's so funny because HAL solved this over two decades ago, and Game Freak still insists on having them show up one text box at a time. Baffling.
its a buggy game with shit graphics and performance that sometimes affects your gameplay
but despite that its a good game and the most fun I had with pokemon in 15 years
maybe I'm just blinded by the great music and actually decent story
one thing I wish they had kept from legends arceus is the ability for other wild pokemon to join a battle against you if they're nearby. As it is, I don't think there are any double battles at all in the main game.
What's weird is that it took this long for people to realize Game Freak can't into graphics.
Pokemon has consistently had the worst graphics for it's type of game in any platform it's been.
Something the graphicsprostitutes always fail to mention when posting thos picture is that the gen 3 games run at 60fps and, outside of dungeons, you can travel the entire region with no buffering zones. But sure, people on Ganker value actual gameplay and performance over how pretty the game looks.
Worst is an overstatement, but I don't think anyone ever claimed Pokemon to be the best looking game on any platform it was on, let alone best-looking RPG.
Still can't get over the fact that pressing B will put the character into crouching position, especially when Zelda, Mario and even Xenoblade use B button for jumping.
Jump, just like in any 3D games.
As worthless as it is, the habit of using B for jumping is already set and making it for crouching will mess their unconscious mind. Well, I guess their main aim is for children who aren't influenced by many games yet.
You admit that it's worthless though. Your character isn't supposed to be a warrior like Link with a bunch of stamina or the ability to climb mountains. If the button doesn't do anything useful, then come up with a use for it. You can crouch to sneak up on certain pokemon that will run away normally. Crouching isn't as useful as in legends arceus, but it's not as useless as a jump button.
Gamefreak has an A team and a B team. I'm not sure which one made Arceus, but they should be in charge of the main games from now on. BDSP was made by some third party that made pokemon home and still was able to frick up things like spinda's spots.
I wish you had better clothing in this game.
Also whats the deal with making classes and schools in pokemon now?
What happened to unguided adventure as a kid?
> Pokémon fans still eat the half-baked slop that Game Freak throws at them and ask for more! >98% of the thread praises the worst Pokémon game ever made, Scarlet and Violet. >"The game's problems were just the bugs! And even then, the bugs were so soulful, bros!" >Game Freak has no motivation to deliver a quality product because fans will buy anything anyway.
Man... a lot of companies would kill to have cult fans like that. Well done, Game Freak, you stroke gold! I kneel
>Well done, Game Freak, you stroke gold! I kneel >stroke
It's always funny to see an ESL trying to criticize anything. Isn't there a street you should be shitting on right now? It's already 7:00 AM (in the morning)
>Having multiple languages is considered an insult to americans
LMAO
Amerimutt-kun, do you Black person Gods know you're on Ganker now? Have you read the Talmud today?
That George Floyd will not genuflect by itself!
>Having multiple languages is considered an insult to americans
At least you're admitting to being an ESL. Maybe you don't live in india, but you're clearly brown kek
Whiter than you, Jamal and Tyrone
Post hand + Time Stamp.
>Having multiple languages is considered an insult to americans
At least you're admitting to being an ESL. Maybe you don't live in india, but you're clearly brown kek
I went with violet because like 3 of my friends were picking scarlet. My criteria has always been which one has the exclusives I wanted, but in the case of this game, neither of them did.
It's the skeleton of a good game. >Open world yet almost nothing to do in it >You can do anything! Except if you don't do it in this specific order you'll be overleveled for the rest of it
Also the character designs are a huge downgrade overall compared to older generations.
It's fricking awful in every single aspect, specially if you take in account how big this franchise is, but pokegays have such low standards they'll accept anything.
I think I'm just too old for pokemon at this point, at least in blue/silver you were fricking up genuinely dangerous underground criminal gangs and had an butthole rival where you could enjoy rubbing their face in the dirt
New pokemon games and the remakes just feel so toothless
that's a male character, isn't it?
My boyfriend be like
Yes
This generation is the first one to use the same human model regardless of what the player chooses at the start of the game. The only difference is what clothes they start the game with.
and that's why i like it when the school staff calls my girly looking character "master" instead of "madam"
Wrong, female body is slightly curvier
female has a slightly bigger chest but it's very hard to notice
I too parrot bullshit I hear online
It's called body type 1, chud.
runs like shit, story is shit and graphics are shit but the idea of a open world pokemon where you can do what you want it's okay.
That doesn't sound fun at all to me. But hey, there's no wrong way to have fun playing a game in general
Well. Pokemon has always been the kind of game where you can make yourself overpowered before you start doing any of the challenges.
True. As a kid I thought that getting any pokemon past the gym badge restriction would mean it wouldn't okay me. So I guess I unknowingly made my own difficulty. Erika with a bunch of level 20s was never easy
>story is shit
I beg to differ.
That's in an emulator right?
I think it's the switch look how low bad the tauros looks especially on the outlines
considering I'd never play it again in my life:
no
She reminds me of the enby meme.
S&V are mixed as frick, the actual gameplay is really fun, the gimmick is the least busted of the bunch, and whether people like it or not it has the "best" writing since gen 5 (low bar all around on this front) but the performance is bad ans the graphics (if you care about that) are ugly as hell
>the "best" writing since gen 5
That would be sun/moon (not ultra)
neither Ganker or /vp/ are ready for that truth yet
Kukui instating the Pokemon laague, sure.
But the rest of that games story is fricking trash.
>the gimmick is the least busted of the bunch
Isn't that the same as megas?
It would've been cool for a few so they'd be like, super epic but they went crazy with it
>but then they started handing megas to pseudo & legendaries
Wasn't the first mega pokemon they showed Mega Mewtwo Y?
oh yeah, that's true. I don't know, I just feel like Mega's had a lot of wasted potential. Maybe they'll bring it back but I mean, not likely
>48 mega evos
>4 of them to pseudos
>6 of them to legendaries
>38 for shitmons like charizard, beedrill, pidgeot, mawile, glalie, kangaskhan, lopunny and aggron
this argument has always been strange to me, but I guess I'd need to also know what mons "didn't need it".
Garchomp for one. It's actively said that Mega Garchomp makes him worse.
Mega FUG is an affront to all that is holy.
Game Freak doesn't care about balance and neither should we.
>I think we needed more Megas for more popular Pokémon
"popular pokemon" as you say are typically just the pokemon with the highest stats already. your criteria is just to make the strongest pokemon stronger. that's moronic.
Which is why I'm glad megas are gone. Hopefully they stop with the other gimmicks and the regional variant cancer.
>regional variant cancer.
take that back
Tera is probably the best gimmick they've ever added. I'm just upset because I already know they aren't going to bring it back, which already means we're probably not going to see the paradox pokemon or terrapagos ever come back.
Same anon here:
Megas are my favorite gimmick, but I just wish they would stop doing gimmicks and just focus on improving the battle mechanics with permanent changes.
I'm tired of them putting in shit that they would then remove.
Regional Variants:
Laziness or geniusness? You decide!
Some are just lazy.
if done right, it can be meme to death.
>the gimmick is the least busted of the bunch
Black person what the FRICK.
>Black person what the FRICK
>No flat 100 stat boost, broken abilities abd shillmom getting even stronger
>No HP sponge with every attack being a stat boost of some kind for 3 whole turns
I guess Z moves you can argue are less broken than tera but Z moves are boring as frick nuke moves with I still think are worse than Tera in other ways
>can turn into whatever type you want defensively, giving pretty much any pokemon the ability to spend a turn safely on virtually ANY battlefield
>can turn into whatever type you want OFFENSIVELY, giving any Pokemon with a half-decent coverage option the ability to go from threatening a KO in 2-3 turns to threatening it in 1-2 turns
>making your tera type inherently a choice, risk/reward style, makes them WAY better than dynamax at least, but both the above points stem from the fact that you can use it on any Pokemon at any time
>it's basically a one-turn "frick you" button unless you're a moronic toddler who uses it to make your starter's main type better or a mega-pro who sees eight turns ahead at all times
>unlike megas which were just a highly optimized tier of new Pokemon, essentially
scarlet/violet are unironically the best game in the entire series
playing it right now on pc
no other pokemon game has such fun gameplay
the visuals are the only downside, but a simple reshade mod makes the experience better for me
>scarlet/violet are unironically the best game in the entire series
Nice bait.
That grass is melting my eyes
What the frick did you do to the graphics, why is the grass glowing?
someone who plays like this simply can't be trusted
have a nice day, zoomer
gen 6 is still hated even after an entire decade
How old is Iono exactly?
old enough
I don't know how old "she" is, but those colors "she's" using sure are interesting...
I hope I'm never as pathetic as you are
You know what's pathetic? Cutting off your dick and getting mad on twitter when people mock you. I don't know why you people still get tricked into thinking that will work.
Even more pathetic is seeing some colors and putting on a tinfoil hat
it's such obvious pandering even a moron could see it.
How is nobody mentioning the fact that this b***h is just casually wearing two extremely rare Magnemites variants?
if it didn't run like shit and look like ass
I don't understand how these guys are backed by the creators of the exclusive console they're developing for and still manage to make it look and run like shit.
Is emulating on PC still more optimized than on Switch?
I played on a 4690k and it ran better than native switch.
a few years from now it will be known as the pokemon game with the most soulful bugs
>bug
I only see a magikarp finally being a magikarp
Pineco? I agree.
>soulful bugs
The Bethesda cope....
It's over.
All fish pokemon should move like that when on land
Instead of flying for no reason
It'd be so cool if a bird pokemon snatched the helpless magikarp, but no, think of the poor multibillion dollar company.
In the new pokemon snap game, there's a part in the first level where a pidgeot will swoop down and snatch a magikarp from the water. So they're not necessarily opposed to doing that.
it just moved to the nearest path node, morons probably forgot to separate water from ground nodes or forgot to exclude magikarp/fish pokemon in general
>forgot
they never considered it
is the game still a buggy mess?
Yes!
>dude, that purple lettuce is talking
Kek
Not even my Toxitricity btw, just a chill bro I found at the mouth of a cave
Gaybros, where we at?
Zesty ass pokemon in these new games bruh
Primarina especially
You're not wrong, but Primarina was like 7 years ago, man.
I bet you still consider Absol and Lucario to be "new pokemon" lol get fricked homosexual
Gen 6+ is new at least as I started with gen 2
Lucario is older in 2023 than Mewtwo was in 2007
I know, I'm saying genwunners still call things like azumarril and magcargo to be new pokemon
I know, I just wanted to give a reality slap to any anon who read my post
I last played emerald. Got back into x/y and stopped again. I dont remember anyrhing from when i played x/y but still remember emerald polemons
I was talking with a friend about Hawlucha and he said that he's already pretty old. And I thought, "but Hawlucha's pretty recent, right?"
Hawlucha is just slightly over 10 years old my homie
Oh, I know. It's just that in the spur of the moment, my brain went Hawlucha=Kalos=recent, skipping the part where XY released in 2013
>Zesty ass pokemon in these new games bruh
SHIIEEET BRUHHH FR FR ONG
It's nothing special, but the Shiny hunting has been pretty good. Raids are shitty, needs more post game content.
>How can we improve this well designed pokemon? I know let's give it a puke green shiny pallet.
I like it, makes Espeon feel like an alien, and it goes well with the Friend Ball, considering the palette and evolution method
I love shiny Espeon because it looks like a Carbuncle from FF
How was the DLC? has it been released yet?
The dlc was just as bad as the base game
the first one has but the next one comes out december 14. The first one had a pretty quick little story but the region wasn't particularly interesting. The second dlc follows up on the story of the first I believe.
What do you guys imagine Penny's farts being like?
I grew out of pokemon.
they keep luring me back with waifus
What's wrong with this girl?
shes gay
She’s lonely because no one will battle her because of how good she is. So she loves (you) because you actually will battle her. You learn this in the post game scenes.
>Non Canon picture
She's basically you from other games where she's reached the top and has no one to rival you. So she's training you to be a challenge or even defeat her.
A fun game is not necessarily good.
Runs like shit, looks like shit, which was the main problem with the game when it came out, a buggy mess that barely ran without crashing is not good, but yes, it's kinda fun.
stop noticing gamefreak's incompetence
fun but very very very flawed and could have been so much better if gamefreak wasn't incompetent
the majority of the enjoyment i got from this game was because i played with friends and i know that if i didn't i probably wouldn't have finished it
This webm is not a valid criticism because magikarps can jump that high in several games. there was an entire mobile game about them doing this.
Let me guess, all your water mons go straight into great and dive balls? God forbid a poliwag having an ultra ball.
Only morons bother trying to use special balls to catch pokemon more easily. The only cave pokemon that should ever be in a dusk ball is zygarde. I personally catch literally everything in premier balls though.
I mean for color matching purposes, my friend refused to catch ogerpon with nothing but a friend ball, so he farmed them for hours until he got one.
Yeah that's my point. I already got myself two beast balls for terapagos, because I can't imagine it looking good in anything else.
What would be my ideal pokemon game?
look for
>ultra easy game
>game without Grinding
>linear game
>game without exploration
>game where it is impossible to get stuck
>game where leveling up is ultra easy
>non-competitive pokemon game
>game for casual gamers
>game where you never need to use strategies
>game that is even easier than Let's Go Pikachu/ Let's Go Eevee
breeding mini game
easy game
every game
>>game without Grinding
every game after X and Y
game
every game except scarlet and violet
>>game without exploration
every game. scarlet and violet might be open world but everything is marked on the map
>>game where it is impossible to get stuck
every game except brilliand diamond and shining pearl because it's actually super easy to get softlocked if your walking pokemon blocks you in to a corner
>>game where leveling up is ultra easy
every game except gold and silver
>>non-competitive pokemon game
none of them are inherently competitive
>>game for casual gamers
every game
>>game where you never need to use strategies
every game
>>game that is even easier than Let's Go Pikachu/ Let's Go Eevee
every game except let's go pikachu and let's go eevee
You are telling me (indirectly) that X and Y are my ideal pokemon games
Sun and Moon are fine too as long as you're okay with 10 hours of cutscenes. People talk shit on XY but they were fine for what they were. The only real problem I have with that generation is that they never made the usual third version because gamefreak was trying and failing to make some new game franchises to compete because they were getting tired of making pokemon.
no we didn't all collectively become as moronic as you
new legends game when
bunney
Is that suit glitched? Reminds me of the warcraft 3 placeholder texture.
No it's real. I can only presume it has some historical significance, otherwise its "we want the Demon Slayer crowd", as there is a green one iirc
pokemon doesn't have placeholder textures. in XY you start out the game in your bedroom wearing pajamas, and you have to change into actual clothes in order to leave the first town. If you cheat to bypass that dialog and continue wearing pajamas, when you get in to a battle, your character will just be a floating head because the game doesn't have any battle texture for the pajamas outfit instead of just defaulting to the standard outfit.
just say you like the game instead of waiting for a hivemind to validate your tastes
I want to frick the mom.
Why do we never have a dad anyway?
We do. Norman in RSE. A dad is also mentioned in RBY.
Those shadows are horrific. Makes everyone look like burn victims.
I played it but was so disgusted I finally dropped pokemon. The dlc is the first pokemon game I haven't bought and I don't plan on starting again. If they make another Legends game then I'll probably play that, but mainline and remakes are dead to me.
post pokejokes
that's not a pokemon joke. that's a joke stolen from a webcomic.
I wonder what will happen first, that the US develops a culture that's something beyond crying about whites, or that the Russians nuke them.
Russians dont even have working nukes. They've all been out of commission for like 40 years.
I still the Russians nuking them is more likely.
>crying about
you mean fetishizing?
Even the fesishizing is all about crying about whites, there's nothing Americans do that isn't an attempt to worship Black folk and cry about whites in one way or another.
Then they wonder why so many Europeans cheer for the Russians and the Chinese to just glass them.
nobody's wondering anything about yuropoors, trust me
True, Americans don't wonder about much, just how new ways to worship their precious Black folks.
And israelites, Anon. Don't forget about them. NEVER. FORGET.
>Then they wonder why so many Europeans cheer for the Russians and the Chinese to just glass them.
Literally who?
So many of you Europeans are just Americans 2.0 with the exact same opinions, it took no effort at all for you to become leftists and absolutely no one supports Russia either. So many of you homosexuals are delusional about America while your own ship is sinking.
>absolutely no one supports Russia either.
Denial is the first step.
The USA is nothing but a satanist nation and will collapse due to having a population of subhuman, low IQ degenerates.
>a satanist nation
That's not our fault. Blame god's chosen people for finally successfully subverting a country for once.
>That's not our fault.
Yes it is, America is the nation where some guy claims to be right wing and pro-white, and then he speaks in Twitter Newspeak all while crying about whites just like Tumblrinas.
>America is the nation where some guy claims to be right wing and pro-white
nooooo, that's what people living in india do, all while misspelling every single word in their post
>Denial is the first step.
What are you talking about moron, no one is backing Russia in the current war. You clearly live in your own little world.
Literally everyone outside of the US, Canada and western Europe sides with them.
There is nothing implying so, and I find it funny you admit part of Europe does side with America on things more often than not.
Yeah, the irrelevant, dying cucks of western Europe, of course those feminine gays like America, you are filled with trannies and Black folk after all.
It's literally the most boring open "world" i have ever seen. There is no design or exploration, just main objectives spread around in a circle. In fact it's even more annoying than it being in a single line, because you don't know the correct order.
>Pokemon SV is a fun game
I like the direction the games are taking, however SVs world and story is bland, the game runs like shit and overall I have felt no urge to go back to it after finishing the "main story". As well as this, the male looks moronic, the character customization is limited because le heckin school uniform.
4/10 game is being generous.
Not buying the DLCs and am not going to buy any future releases until they learn to optimize their games.
>the male looks moronic
the male and female use the same model
>the male and female use the same model
Yet he looks moronic in game and in promotional art
When the frick are they gonna announce Legends Kyurem with the same leading staff as Arceus?
sexo
I want to touch those gloves
It's fricking dog shit
sword and shield
reading all the text aloud in british accents
Looks like a unity asset flip and runs at 15fps
Pokétards sure love eating shit
as opposed to the sovlfvl sprites of yore, oldtimer?
>m-muh graphics
No one defends that shit, but most people that look past it think the game is actually fun. But a zoomer graphicsprostitute wouldn't know this
I don't know last Pokemon game I played was Emerald when it launched.
It was also the first Pokemon game I played.
I don't understand how people can play this shit.
>game has dating side quests
>game focuses all DLC on dating
A brown genki tomboy vs a racist emo girl, truly the ultimate battle.
I fricking hate the hair they gave her and her brother
why do people call that girl racist
She says that Unovans are dirty race mixing Passimians.
Because she is.
That's just a xenophobe. She didn't call you a Black person.
that shit was so bare bones
mother of soul
More like mother of anachronism. Why is Mr. Mime mimikcing a modern person? Most are suppose to be wild because humans still don't know much about pokemon in Arceus.
>sitting and drinking tea
>modern person
>Most are suppose to be wild because humans still don't know much about pokemon in Arceus.
I thought amoongus evolved to look like pokeballs to catch humans and eat them.
Pokeballs with that design aren't that old according to legends arceus, it wouldn't have evolved in that time. I think a pokedex entry somewhere says that the pokeball company liked the design on amoongus.
thats her mr mime copying the shit she does, akari drinks tea everyday
Ostia puta Kiko Rivera en Pokémon?
If there's something I hate about beaners is their insistence in forcing their subhuman, 3rd world language here.
Yo no quiero tacos aqui Juan.
The tacos are in your country whether you like it or not, lmao
No they aren't, I'm canadian.
Don't you have some dinner to hunt, Roberto?
>No they aren't, I'm canadian
PFFFFFFFFFHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, what ISN'T invading your shithole of a country, other than fellow first worlders?
Spics, thankfully.
I rather shove all muslims and chinks in the world into Canada than a single beaner.
>Further humiliating himself and his country while delivering heckin' epic pwnage
As expected from a proud and patriotic cucknadian.
Not really patriotic, I think the idea of worshipping a government just because you were born in it is a waste of time, it's the government who should worship me.
And don't talk to anyone about being cucks, everyone knows that /vt/, the official simp board, is mostly spics.
el grando copeo
El Gringo Furioso...
Nah. I emulated it and still regret even bothering.
>Standard slow ass opening that takes like two hours
>Immediate introduction to the super special new never-before-seen legendary that seems to have some kind of special bond with you, the player, because you're SO cool
>Multiple tutorial battles forcing me to endure shit ass dialogue throughout as the basic mechanics of this baby game get spoon fed to me
>Game screams at me if I dare step even one foot off the beaten path to explore or look around, forcing me back on rails
>After finally being released from my bondage I go to explore an area only for Pokemon and trees to start popping in five feet in front of me
>During my first proper trainer battle my game glitches out and none of my attacks have animations
>Finally reach the first proper town after all that bullshit only to find that you can't enter most of the buildings and of what few you can the majority didn't even have any interiors, they were entirely menu based as if I'm playing a fricking NES JRPG or something
I remember the tutorial being like 20 mins but I may be mismembering
After that it's extremely open
Admittedly my 2 hour estimate was because I actually took the time to explore the first area after finally being unrestricted, which turned out to just be a break between some more tutorials. If you go pretty quickly and just do everything the game asks then it's probably closer to 30 minutes or so, but it was still too much to bear for what was advertised to me by Gamefreak themselves as the most open and free Pokemon experience to date.
>of course the tutorial is linear
Off of 3 random let's play searches, every person spends an hour doing the forced tutorial where you get your mon, subjugate yourself to the very first beginner route before the first actual pokemon center, and has the mandated bike mon cutscene. And that's barely halfway into the opening tutorial before you're given complete freedom.
>b-but those people are just moronic!
Moving the goalpost. These games shouldn't be frontloaded with all this trash.
>1-2 hour
your sense of time is absolutely fricked
You forget that Pokemon is for stupid kids.
>If freedom was so important in SV then maybe they should've led with that
It does after the tutorial, of course the tutorial is linear.
I'm having more fun playing with rom hacks
what hack has big titty pokemon?
It's not a hack, that guy is a gay moronic Black person weeb autistic homosexual. That's a proper fan game, not a hack. It's called infinite fusion, but you have to actually get two pokemon to fuse them. That lugia thing appears to be a cross of lugia and gardevoir.
>fan game
The only people who can make worse Pokemon games than Game Freak and romhackers.
not disputing that. just saying that nobody hacked an actual rom to add in fusion features like this.
yea i get that its supposed to be infinite fusion but i'm doubting it can randomly give a snorlax/goodra mix huge fricking melons or noivern being mixed with a character from darkstalkers
One of the fusions, I forget which pair, is literally just The Vigilante from pizza tower. This game isn't trying to be child friendly or anything so there's a good bit of fan servicy type stuff in it.
One is simply aware.
yes the game is fun
penny is trash
whole story is trash
nemona is cool
our rival getting the shitty pokemon that gets countered by ours is stupid
and the game is still filled with bugs and glitches
I tried to pick it up again a couple of months ago and just can't get into it. it makes sword and shield retroactively a good game
>performance is beyond unacceptable
>don't even think the game can get above 30fps
>laggy menus
>bad graphics
>washed out and bland colours
>forgettable or aggressively annoying music
>as a consequence of the poor performance the battle speed is worse than DPPT
>can't turn off battle animations
>what animations there are are beyond simplified even compared to arceus
>have to wait for slow ass status effect or weather animations
>then the text appears
>god forbid the enemy uses an attack that gives multiple stat changes in one turn
>pokemon mostly all look like shit
>dexit
>scrap positive ideas and gameplay systems from previous generations or remake them but worse
>sandwich minigame is just a poorly implemented curry game from SWSH
>they didn't even bother to animate your character eating the sandwich you just bite the air in front of a jpg of a sandwich
trust the most profitable media franchise on the planet to not even put in the effort to make their games not run and look like shit.
>b-b-but they'll patch it!
they didn't
>none of those things matter because kids don't care about them!
so kids don't deserve games that don't look and run like shit?
Guess none of this matters because people buy this shit up in droves and I'm not innocent here either. I'm the fool for believing they gave a rats ass about their franchise.
>it makes sword and shield retroactively a good game
No it doesn't, Sword and Shield combine the worst of SV with the worst of USUM.
And that's saying something considering SV aren't good at all.
>scrap positive ideas and gameplay systems from previous generations
I done think any Pokemon game has introduced a single good idea or gamplay system since contests in Ruby and Sapphire.
XY's PSS to SM festival plaza was a crime
Online in Pokemon is cancer because it incentivises version exclusives and also ignoring the creation of endgame content since they can just go "hurr go play online battles".
If there's one thing Legends did good was removing all online components.
>There's no end game
What is tera raids providing resources for shiny hunting?
You mean that mode where 9/10 raids are impossible to solo, and the ones you can is always just exploiting something that basically comes down to "metronome, spam one attack until it dies"?
You can solo literally 100% of raids
Right, 9/10 raids can be solo'd if you have perfect RNG that might requiere you to restart the game a few hundred times.
All to get a Pokemon that you can just get from Go and then hypertrain for 120k.
To be fair, you do need to get lucky with which team mates you randomly wind up with. I kept getting weaviles on my team during the hisui typhlosion raids
This I don't get. Every game since crystal has had some variation of the battle tower up until now.
That's IT.
Oh yeah I forgot that you cant even rebattle the E4 after you beat them once lmao, what the frick is this? It already existed. Why take it away
>Why take it away
So that when Gen 10 removes the Pokemon Gym/League challenge in its entirety, people will go "well gym battles were shit anyway so I'm glad they're gone! The Elite 4 were mostly a bunch of literal whos anyway."
bruh gen 7 didn't have gyms or an official league. they've already done that.
>Gamefreak genuinely believes their audience is full of braindead morons
They hold official tournaments with people coming up with ridiculous strategies. A lot of it is even shared on the official pokemon youtube channel, and they've also rebalanced several things for the sake of competitive. They know. They really shouldn't think this way anymore.
>bruh gen 7 didn't have gyms or an official league.
Baffling.
Yeah, my only actual gripe is the girl designs are a bit lacking.
its a buggy game with shit graphics and performance that sometimes affects your gameplay
but despite that its a good game and the most fun I had with pokemon in 15 years
maybe I'm just blinded by the great music and actually decent story
No.
Freedom =/= fun.
I would prefer a region that was entirely comprised of Mt. Coronet over whatever the FRICK Paldea was.
you're now aware that it's been 10 years since they made a new eeveelution.
Base game is shit, first DLC has set up some interesting things, but it's only good if the second DLC delivers.
Not yet. Not until Gen 10 comes out in a worse state
What year did this game come out?
Game Freak doesn't even try
Even for a Switch game it looks bad
1997
>recently beat PLA and started playing SV
I thought it would be a much worse game
but it's decent
have fun for now
one thing I wish they had kept from legends arceus is the ability for other wild pokemon to join a battle against you if they're nearby. As it is, I don't think there are any double battles at all in the main game.
since Pokemon SV is an open world game it is so stupid that there is no level scaling
I've never seen a more punchable face.
no need to out yourself as a homosexual on an online chinese image board
You've never seen my face then, anon
What's weird is that it took this long for people to realize Game Freak can't into graphics.
Pokemon has consistently had the worst graphics for it's type of game in any platform it's been.
I wish they would spend more time developing their mainline games
Something the graphicsprostitutes always fail to mention when posting thos picture is that the gen 3 games run at 60fps and, outside of dungeons, you can travel the entire region with no buffering zones. But sure, people on Ganker value actual gameplay and performance over how pretty the game looks.
Also Minish Cap is like 2 hours long. It's a nice looking tech demo.
Worst is an overstatement, but I don't think anyone ever claimed Pokemon to be the best looking game on any platform it was on, let alone best-looking RPG.
No, but people pretend its something new when Ruby and Sapphire looked straight up bad.
sir can you please list the other gba games except zelda's and dbz
is the top left a mana game?
top right summon knight??
....I like the Gen 5 graphics.
because you are a moronic zoomer that grew up with it
it was a straight downgrade from gen 4, specially HGSS
Not true in the slightest
It looks and runs like absolute dogshit, but its one of the better Pokemon games in terms of just gameplay. 6/10 game.
Maybe the better hardware on a Switch 2 can compensate for Gamefreaks inability to program.
does the writing pass the bechdel test?
Why wouldn't it? No pokemon game features any explicitly romantic relationships.
Brendan and May go on a date at the end of ORAS
Sure whatever, but that doesn't mean that it wouldnt still pass that stupid leftoid twitroony test.
No, but she does call you an outsider, her equivalent of Black person.
>censored stockings
NO!!!
Still can't get over the fact that pressing B will put the character into crouching position, especially when Zelda, Mario and even Xenoblade use B button for jumping.
What else should the B button do? You don't jump in this game unless you have your ride pokemon
Someone tell me a trustworthy site to get the rom from please
Is that DSP?
No Pokemon is for literal babies now and I'm really sorry that you can't let it go
legends arceus was better and even had better performance, shit as it was.
This feels like a student project.
Nothing, the school thing is just this gen's gimmick.
is that real?
Yes!
Going to kill some palestines?
>Broken, buggy mess
>Terrible Pokemon designs
>Terrible antagonists
>Atrocious visuals
>Same old braindead gameplay
It is not a fun game.
is that an IRL brock sampson
For the first 10 hours sure
By the time you get to endgame shit gets old very very fast
> Pokémon fans still eat the half-baked slop that Game Freak throws at them and ask for more!
>98% of the thread praises the worst Pokémon game ever made, Scarlet and Violet.
>"The game's problems were just the bugs! And even then, the bugs were so soulful, bros!"
>Game Freak has no motivation to deliver a quality product because fans will buy anything anyway.
Man... a lot of companies would kill to have cult fans like that. Well done, Game Freak, you stroke gold! I kneel
They're worse than Sonic fans. At least Sonic fans buy the shit but still complain about the games.
>Well done, Game Freak, you stroke gold! I kneel
>stroke
It's always funny to see an ESL trying to criticize anything. Isn't there a street you should be shitting on right now? It's already 7:00 AM (in the morning)
>Having multiple languages is considered an insult to americans
LMAO
Amerimutt-kun, do you Black person Gods know you're on Ganker now? Have you read the Talmud today?
That George Floyd will not genuflect by itself!
>chimping about Americans out of nowhere
>more ESL garbage
Brownie Thirdie confirmed.
Whiter than you, Jamal and Tyrone
Post hand + Time Stamp.
Just because some leftoid harvard homosexual decided that Indians are caucasian doesn't mean that you're white.
>Not posting hand.
Tyrone-kun.....
You're browner than my shit, I bet.
>Having multiple languages is considered an insult to americans
At least you're admitting to being an ESL. Maybe you don't live in india, but you're clearly brown kek
>Minor spelling mistake
>MUH ESL OBSESSION
It's not an argument, slop eater.
Next.
>troony picture
okay, now I'm starting to put the puzzle together
>MUH troony OBSESSION
Again, not an argument, boot licker.
Next.
I'll never fall for the gaslighting, SV are 100x better than Swooshit, which are the worst mainline games BY FAR
>gaslighting
You are far away from Twitter, zoomer.
>SV are 100x better than Swooshit
Yet, sold less.
>the game that has been out for one year has sold less than the game that has been out for 4 years!
woah!
Anons say this then start chimping out whenever their favorite gen is criticized.
>product
>consume
Why do americans speak like marketeers?
It's not an american thing, it's a far right chud thing.
>chud
You americans really just absorb Twitter Newspeak into your lingo
>violet is the normie version
>scarlet doesn't exist
did it really come down to the uniforms?
I went with violet because like 3 of my friends were picking scarlet. My criteria has always been which one has the exclusives I wanted, but in the case of this game, neither of them did.
It's the skeleton of a good game.
>Open world yet almost nothing to do in it
>You can do anything! Except if you don't do it in this specific order you'll be overleveled for the rest of it
Also the character designs are a huge downgrade overall compared to older generations.
>Scarlet and Violete are good gam-ACK
>ACK ACK
Its pretty fun but I can't find a real reason to play the games past E4. I don't think i touched it past the month it released.
It's kino
You just know
It's fricking awful in every single aspect, specially if you take in account how big this franchise is, but pokegays have such low standards they'll accept anything.
I think I'm just too old for pokemon at this point, at least in blue/silver you were fricking up genuinely dangerous underground criminal gangs and had an butthole rival where you could enjoy rubbing their face in the dirt
New pokemon games and the remakes just feel so toothless
