Did Europe ever get any worthwhile exclusives for the PS2? Sure, they have the cool blue cases, while America got the almost black navy ones, but that's about all I know.

Hell yeah, they got all the phoenix games.
My personal favorite is “White Van Racer”. A game literally about racing pedo vans.
It’s gloriously stupid, they are geniuses. A game about racing only white vans… bravo. You only ever unlock more White vans to race as.
Phoenix games was definitely a front for something else, I wonder what it was.
>Phoenix games was definitely a front for something else, I wonder what it was.
It wasn't. Phoenix was a spin-off of another company called Midas.
Midas is mostly remembered for being the king of budget bargain bin PC games. They pushed out loads of crap over the years.
Eventually the guy behind the company realized that the PS2 market is so fricking huge that there's guaranteed sales for literally any garbage that comes in a PS2 game case. So he started putting out the lowest budget trash he could get.
However the Midas brand still had some value as they'd been localizing some half-decent japanese games on the PS2 so a new brand was needed to not de-value Midas. And thus Phoenix was born. Some Phoenix games still got their PC releases under the Midas brand.
Interesting, thanks for the info drop.
White Van Racer though? That’s so fricking absurd. A video game where you only race vans…colored white?
I am not a buygay these days, but if I was this would be a game I definitely want a hard copy of, it’s that brilliant.
Tons of cool jap games only got released in yurop so yeah.
Such as...?
A racing game about racing pedo vans. Sounds comical, will check it out.
Siren 2 didn't get a US release
🙁
>Such as...?
Tons of the Simple 2000 Series games, Deep Water was a personal favorite of mine, as well as the first Earth Defence Force and Onechanbara games.
There was also a few others I could remember off the top of my head such as Forbidden Siren 2, Suda51's Michigan: Report From Hell and The Seed: WarZone.
Also worth mentioning is that the PAL region got the definitive versions of both Team ICO games, as the Japanese and American releases had missing content and unpatched bugs, they even got 60hz support so they could run at the proper intended speed.
didn't Soul Calibur 3 had all of its bugs fixed for the PAL release too? The original version could do shit like erasing your memory card.
I had a PAL copy when it came out and that fricker definitely erased my SC3 save, but nothing else.
Gregory horror show, Shinobido, Sword of Etheria. Pal library mogs the burger one hard
Glass Rose and Velvet File/Robot Warlords
The one i saw
Alpine Racer 3. Pretty obscure one.
Burgers did get localizations of Koei strategy games though.
>Such as...?
Buccaneer
7 Blades
DNA Dark Native Apostle
thanks anon
The EDF games.
BCV is fun and stupid and I wish the English version wasn't 50hz but here we are.
>ywn race Dino in Flintstones: Bedrock Racing.
Here's a cool Spain exclusive.
Also check out Crazy Frog Racing and the literal dozens of SingStar games.
Seriously though, I think the only really good PS2 games that were Europe-only were Wipeout Pulse (less content than the PSP version) and WRC: Rally Evolved.

If only a competent developer had made it.
This game was a pretty fun time despite its absolutely repulsive artstyle
Euros are kings of shovelware trash, I sincerely commend them for it. They made so much cheap goofy shit for everything.
>Asobo Studio
They actually make great games.
MGS European Extreme
FFXII Intenational
Speccy Greatest Hits Collection
Petanque
Not a PAL exclusive but North America didn't get Sword of Etheria. I think this same artist did promo pieces for Portrait of Ruin.
I was pretty bummed this never got an NA release. Of course I had it on PC, and console is last place for an RTS, but at the time I really wished I could've just had this laid back version of the game on my TV.
Regarding PAL games, what does one need to play them on a Burgerland set? I have a region free ps2, but the game i play on it from the land of the europeans is a garbled mess on screen. Do i need an actual euro telly to get it to display properly? Is there a converter box i can get to make them display right? Would component to a flatscreen work? Does the actual PS2 need to be a euro model with a different speed settings or whatever?
Some PAL games have 50/60hz switches, either in a menu or with a button input on bootup
But yeah otherwise use homebrew to force 60hz
I think OPL has settings where you can force games to run in NTSC or PAL.
Global Defence Force
Everblue
Formula One 05
Radio Helicopter 2
Alpine Ski Racing 2007
Colin McRae Rally 2005
Knights of the Temple 2
Prisoner of War
RTL Winter Sports 2009
World Snooker Championship 2005
Worms 4: Mayhem
OneeChanbara
Demolition Girl
Demon Chaos
Global Defence Force
Psyvariar Complete
Puyo Pop Fever
Que Pasa Neng is not worth playing. You only get like five minigames and they're all trash.
Is Zombie Zone supposed to be Onechanbara? I haven't played it before that's why I'm asking.
Yes
Is Global Defense Force just the pal version of Earth Defense Force?
Dragon Ball games with Jap dub instead of the awful American one
That was just Budokai 1, and even then it had a pretty sloppy subtitle job. Every DBZ game after barring Super DBZ was released with the autistic dub.
Xenosage 2 without getting the first and last one is exclusive as it gets
Just watching the cutscenes is a superior way to experience the first "game" though.
Anybody still play online with their PS2? I found myself a modem and I'm gonna try hooking it up today, if it works I'll see if there's anybody in the world who wants to play Battlefront for a bit.
