Two Fighters also works but gets expensive to gear them, plus there's lots of great weapons that you only get one of them, so the 2nd fighter is always be worse equipped, though that's not too much of an issue
this
Thief is just garbage all around and his main "skill" doesn't even work properly
White Mage is okay but has pretty much zero offense and you can just do all of your healing out of combat with potions. Their only real benefit is the HEL spells to heal your whole party at once in a pinch. Outside of that they're crap.
The 2nd best fighter is still going to be really strong. It's not too expensive to gear them and its fine to give the 2nd fighter hand me downs. Its the 3 fighter build that gets stretched too much. 3 fighters and a red or white mage is probably the easiest play through.
>did we ever agree
No. Even if every single person on this board agreed to something and it was objectively true, I would disagree. There will NEVER be a consensus.
That's not being a chad, that's being a contrarian. It's really pathetic how the "chad" meme has become >my shitty opinion = chad
you probably don't even realize the irony of a nerd putting so much importance into "'chads", all you're doing is showing you don't like yourself and comforting the opinion of idiots with the IQ of 100 who spend all their time between gyms and clubs to frick prostitutes who are as dumb as they are, who then proceed to think they're above everyone else.
ok i agree that a lot of people mask their shitty opinions with "chad btw" but the person you are replying to was shitposting. maybe you are also 100 iq
>self-deprecating undertones
Maybe if you're an insecure homosexual. I actually lift, have sex, and am secure in my beliefs and opinions so to me it's just representative, not "ironic".
but you gotta let anonymous people online know about all this stuff to justify your use of a term, so maybe that insecure statement isn't entirely accurate you "chad"
by the end of the game I never used the magic from my black mage or my white mage, I would exclusively use healing and damage magic from weapons. The only magic I would use from a white mage is revive. I would unironically use this team if I could get through the early game easily
Anything with more than one Fighter will brutalize anything. My favorites are a combination of Fighter, Fighter, Fighter/Monk/Black Mage, and Fighter/Red Mage/White Mage.
Fighter just werks, top tier, if you don't lead with at least one you are crippling your party, but you will get diminishing returns by a third one so you might wanna spice it up.
Monk is no physical slouch either, but only if you intend to grind, his promotion is also useless.
Red Mage is in most use-cases the best mage, and it's nice to have a slot than can do a bit of everything when you need it.
Black/White Mages are more situational and the above tends to have to babysit them, plus they're the most expensive classes if you deck them out.
Thief just sucks and is smelly, sorry, even a Ninja won't be better than a third-rate Knight.
i never liked doing the multiple fighters
its diminishing returns on each one, since you can only ever have the top gear for one. and the extra bulk doesnt help as much since the second slot already only gets hit 75% as much, then 50% for 3rd slot, then 25% for last
id rather the black belt with his low overhead and high DPS for my second slot, then magic for the last two
>its diminishing returns on each one, since you can only ever have the top gear for one.
I did the math ages on this ago, but at least according to the NES original's battle formulas - from what I remember - a Knight with his fourth-best equipment will still statistically outperform a Ninja with his optimal equipment. I think later versions might nerf Knight and buff Ninja, though.
yea, if someone is casual I absolutely recommend they just do 3 fighters and 4th anything really. Play how you want, but some people aren't looking for exploring the learning curve or a challenge. The game is significantly harder doing 3 fighters vs 3 thieves.
RM is kuso because he can't cast TOP SPELLS. BM and WM are a given, and so is a warrior. That leaves one slot, if you do a western run you pick thief, if you do an eastern run you pick the black belt.
Yes, it's four white mages.
It'll never work
>Eight years and 1200 strips later
Goddammit!
Man those were the days
People already did that backin the day, you need tthings : get lucky in the undead areas, grind a lot, autism.
Fighter / Black Belt / Red Mage / Black Mage

The best party is the party you choose when you play the game for the first time while being twelve years old.
Has anyone played the MSX version? It looks like it has its pros&cons but they broke the B.Belt
It has a translation
>did we ever agree
No. Even if every single person on this board agreed to something and it was objectively true, I would disagree. There will NEVER be a consensus.

Just tell us your party choice and stop whining, you little homosexual nerd
Not reading. Cope.

Correct.
the chad meme is funny and has self-deprecating undertones
don't take it so seriously
>self-deprecating undertones

If you use the meme unironically, you're a gigantic idiot and the joke's on you
Ah, the cope and seethe of the liftlet.
Stay mad, never-achiever 😉
Am I more or less of a chad for playing the Wonderswan version
You're a 2000s-era weeaboo.
What's your JLPT score?
不合格 on N2, (96/180, but tanked the listening section and didn't get the section's minimum passing score, so failed) why?
4 fighters, simple as
THE FIGHTER TOWER
by the end of the game I never used the magic from my black mage or my white mage, I would exclusively use healing and damage magic from weapons. The only magic I would use from a white mage is revive. I would unironically use this team if I could get through the early game easily
My energy
for first playthrough? Fighter, Red Mage, White Mage, Black Mage.
for fast playthrough? Fighter, Fighter, Red Mage, Red Mage
Have you tried one fighter and 3 red mage? It's dope.
for me its Fighter, Black Belt, Black Mage, and White Mage
Fighter
Monk
Red Mage
White Mage
Also repeating classes is cringe.
Now try doing that in the MSX2 version

its a shame the thief sucks so much ass
the ninja is actually really good, its just not worth dealing with the thiefs useless ass for half the game
Noone's played the MSX version then.
Fine, I'll do it.
sigh, the things I have to do.
RM is kuso because he can't cast TOP SPELLS. BM and WM are a given, and so is a warrior. That leaves one slot, if you do a western run you pick thief, if you do an eastern run you pick the black belt.
Red mage is OP 50% of the game and viable 90% and basically suck my dick you fat moron.
>Red mage is OP
Yes he is indeed a gay.
Yeah, playing Final Fantasy 13 instead.
>It is better to be thought of as a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt
My favorite was Black Belt, Black Belt, Black Belt, White Mage.
