I liked the combat and music, hated the characters and story, I'll never replay it because you can't skip cutscenes

I grew up with this game and based a lot of my personality off of it so no, I actually cannot tell you if this game is good or not.
I just know it defines me.

I did. The only reason i have not replayed it as much as the PS1 FF games is because i absolutely hate the lighting dodge game and the chocobo time trial game, not to mention all the grinding you have to do on the arena to rewrite the entire sphere grid. It`s such a chore...

      I like FF10.
The story with Sin is pretty cool. I liked most of the characters, especially Auron.
There's a frick ton of optional sidequests and other stuff to do late game.

Blitzball is fun once you realize you have to put the characters on manual rather than autopilot.

The first time I played the game I didn't know you could capture all the monsters to create a super monster which is the most difficult boss in the game.

The soundtrack is great. It really sets the tone and has a mystical feeling to it.

Honestly I think I'll replay it again soon.

The butterfly game is AIDS too.

I have a lot of nostalgia for it, I spent over a hundred hours playing Blitzball and collecting the special weapons. I replayed it about 7-8 years ago and while I enjoyed it, the linearity and stupid storyline stood out a lot more. Still think it's a good game but it's not the masterpiece I thought it was when I was 13

    >Did you like this game (FFX)
    Yes
    >Did you enjoy the story
    Also yes
    >the combat
Stiff but yes I did enjoy the combat.

    >Did you like this game?
I did, but my experience with it was my vientamese friend coming over to my house and showing me where he was at in the game and completely fumbling trying to explain the story. Then we'd just watch any new aeons or aeon overdrives he got. Anima is still really cool.

Otherwise, not a turn based RPG guy. I do like Dissidia though. Pic rel.

the sphere grid filtered me as a kid, I leveled up pure shit and got softlocked

Literally how, I'm assuming yiure american. They deliberately locked every single route that branched thebasigned role of that particular character. How could you frick up?
I skipped all the tutorial shit and reached mount gagazet before I realized there was a sphere grid. Then after leveling up the game became too easy.

    >Did you like this game?
Yes. I connected more with ff7 though
    >Did you enjoy the story?
Yes. Although i think the depth of it went over my head at the time so i wamt to revisit it
    >The combat?
Yeah probably most fun ive had in a turn based game. At this point in my lofe i prefer arpg combat but i can still get enjoyment out of turnbased games

    It was decent
    >story
God no, worst story I've ever seen in a video game (yes, a lot worse than XIII).
    >combat
yes although it is a bit too simple (use wakka to hit flying enemy, etc.)

Everyone memes on it for a lot of the voice acting, and rightfully so, even though it was the first voiced FF, but the story holds up and is one of the strongest in the series.

As far as turn based combat, it might be one of, if not the best, in the series.

It's probably my favorite of the mainline besides XIV. If you want a little more in depth talk about it, I highly recommend these 2. I listen to all their stuff on the way to work:

Not a problem if you play with Japanese audio. It actually makes the game good.

I should have specified that in that the English VA is rough, but yeah the JP one is really good.

X's story is shit, so many bullshit lies and instead of following Jecht's much more interesting pilgrimage, we have to escort Yuna the boring girl.

    The equipment system sucks

      Anonymous

      Elaborate
Because to me it was really easy and giving the equipment traits made the game even better for me.

It's a chore having to pick up different skills, instead of flat out number increases. Like X thing % or the other % is shit and I'd rather just have ATK/DEF/MAG or whatever attributes instead of equipment skills.

    >story
It was servicible. Not fantastic, but had its moments. Spira is an interesting world though - for such a cheery-looking place, it's morbid as frick.
    >combat
Yes, though I feel like the Xenosaga games did the "turn based but accels and delays in turn order" thing better.

I'll be honest, I cried at the end of the game. Got stuck between the final bosses and when I finally beat them I was devastated by the ending. It's defiently the best Final Fantasy game.

Yeah if I knew it was one of the last few good final fantasy games I would have took my time playing it in its peak.

I had dad problems so I really identified with tidus, then I found out the mom was the problem and when I asked my dad about it he broke down. In a weird way we did end up being closer and I did come to understand my dad more. The game is pretty good.

Reminder that the Sphere Grid is the best and most original level up system Final Fantasy has ever had.

Beginning of the end. Linear hallways, story filled with made-up pronouns, daddy issues: the character, awful art designs, no world map, no Uematsu. 6/10

Yeah I liked the story and music. I liked the combat at first, but it become a chore near late game.

No it's overrated as shit, it's reputation survives solely on nostalgia. No one in their right mind is replaying this game today. ff13 has unironically aged better, I tried both not too long ago.
