>really unneeded third version with even more unneeded fourth version >ruined Lusamine's character >made base form Necrozma worthless (it's the coolest one frick off) >but the game's a tiny bit more difficult
Very mixed feelings honestly.
>move tutors >more mons obtainable without trading >mount lanakila expanded and now it has trainers >mantine surf was an alright way to pass the time and grind BP if i got bored of the battle facilities >post game episode lets us battle all the villains from the past ith a cool dungeon, better than the UBs just popping up in random places on the map that we already visited in the main game
i think they're solid. more or less what i expected from third version type games. USUM are the last games i consider to be acceptable. frick the switch games. the third version practice might be scummy but the DLC model is worse
This. DLC leaves you with a main game that’s just as hollow with some decent at best extra areas tacked on.
A proper SwSh 3rd version, even if it wouldn’t have been amazing, would have preferable to leaving the game feeling so hopelessly bare.
Or Game Freak could do what a competent game company does and make the game right the first time instead of selling us a rough draft and only releasing the real version 2 years later.
As per Sun and Moon, repeats are a slow piece of shit with no skip button to 'vital' dialog like notifying a battle, and the story retcons, while potentially cool, are so hilariously botched in execution you'd think it was from a ROM Hack.
In contrast, playing through it in spite of long, unskippable shit through Melemele and half of Akala, it is so fricking fun to play through because of the variety of Pokemon relative to the total Pokedex (such as the 100 up from the original games), piss-easy BP from Mantine Surfing, which is in itself fun, for cool tutor moves early on, along with major trainers and select 'boss' route trainers having high IVs and allocated EVs instead of them all having 0 except for late-game being 15/31 at most, not to mention all the team shakeups/buffs like giving certain trainers later Pokemon earlier, and the Totems almost being puzzles from Araquanid onwards.
As far as a 'gated off' point in Pokemon for all being programmed into one game, plus transferrable via bank or PKSM, USUM is a pretty good place to end it, especially relative to anything afterwards that isn't a Legends game.
I just wish ALL the Alola games weren't such a drag especially earlier on for any playthrough that isn't the first; I really wanna go through Ultra Sun again, but merely reaching Verdant Cave without straight bullrushing feels like the biggest slog in a Monster Tamer from memory alone. Even trying a new save for X has been smoother. (or it would be if I weren't autistic about grinding EVs from super training like a moron)
i sometimes park in the festival plaza online for ten or fifteen minutes in the off chance someone is still playing and needs a high level partner. i hope me and gyarados helped someone out there
I preferred finding the stickers to finding the zygarde cells because I didn't have to backtrack through everything at a different time of day. (Boxed all the totem pokemon, just like I boxed 10/50/100% zygarde, but had more fun trying to find all the stickers.)
Yeah, best pokemon experience on the DS with the biggest pokemon selection available >B-b-but muh sto-
Don't care it was a fun game to play >B-b-but my cutsce-

Yes, I LOVE Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, they fixed so many things missing from the orginals, and I loved the chaotic yet still somewhat balanced metagame where all the Pokemon existed at once.
(and when Urshifu wasn't there to rape me every fricking day)
This game was the last good Pokemon game but hell yeah it was an awesome one!!!
It had some good aspects, but watering down Lusamine was bullshit.
the only pokemon game i just could not give a frick enough about to finish

Well obviously, but they won’t because everyone will buy it anyways. Why delay a game for it to sell the exact same?
Yeah, it's alright.

Nope
was too poor for it, is it worth even after playing the originals?
yes
battle agency was extremely cancerous
took me about three years to reach level 50
leave it to game freak to make the battle factory idea bad
im going to just pkhex that shit now. don’t have enough time to find people to do it with
