Same, KH1 was great and I was all aboard the KH2 hype train but around 2011-12 ish I just moved on after BBS. It just kept falling off the rails even though some of the combat systems were pretty fun. The portion of the fanbase feverishly defending the story is hilarious, though
I used to defend the story. Now I accept the fun while mourning the waste of potential. Still my favorite series.
I'm just here for the Critical mode. KH still has the best combat for me.
I marathoned the series to play KH3 and the only games I actually enjoyed were CoM and KH2 and it seems like they have no interest in recapturing KH2's gameplay so I just don't care anymore. Then it's crazy they had the perfect gameplay for CoM then they just made it worse for no reason.
