2 parts card game stuff and Digicon craving 3 parts the Ps are bringing up talk of clones and this is the only one they know the name of.
Digimon and Yokai Watch are the only two other franchises that manged to make a name, but Yokai Watch didn't really manage to have that much impact out side Japan
>being on social media
Go back there c**t
It's so fricking grim how dead digimon is whenever it's mentioned on videogame contexts it immediately defaults to discussion about non-video games like cards, toys, anime, etc.
SO FRICKING GRIM
so its not dead at all then and the problem is that you ever though it was a game IP when its a toy IP first
thanks for proving me right... I guess?
It's still tragic as frick, bandai is such a shitter
How did I prove you right? digimon is plenty alive, getting games is irrelevant for that
DUDE YOU ARE ON FRICKING Ganker
Did your mom take abortion pills?
If I can play a card game online it's a video game. V-pets are video games too. Also, But if you're so anal over game talk then fine. What are your thoughts on Digital Monster ver.S? I think it's a soul overload and love the fake PC UI. But it suffers from the fact a V-pet doesn't work on a console. You need something to do while you wait for your fridgimon to get hungry. Also I think I should be able to read most of the text first so I only played a bit of it.
What can we say? Survive was shit and all those other things manage to not me sad.
They killed their golden goose with DMW2 and made sure the series would never have its own identity with digimon story which is just shittier pokemon
Instead of honing in on a unique formula bandai chose to ape on other franchises and Adventure nostalgia for the series’ entire lifespan after 1999
>posts a jpg of what was originally a gif
moron
>anime
>tfw they aren't even making Digimon anime anymore
The video games are low effort and low selling, and future games are basically vaporware at this point. All recent animation projects failed to gain traction and an audience. The overpriced toys don't matter--hell, the last movie ends with the toys disappearing, which is quite the statement for a V-Pet franchise.
The card game is the only thing keeping the franchise alive and the next "big" project is tied to it. Digimon is on life support and the lights overhead are flickering out.
the games had a hard time establishing an identity when Digimon was at its most popular. they were all over the place back in the day. digimon world 1-4 shouldn't have been presented as entries in the same series, and I think doing that did a lot of damage.
>the only good recent digimon game is an indie knock off better version of world 1 and 3
feels bad bros
I wish the breeding mechanic didn't require you to sacrifice one of the input monsters.
There was a "indie dev inspo" chart meme floating around recently and I was surprised to see how many had one of the DW games as their main vidya inspirations
>better version of world 1 and 3
ok, shill. don't get too crazy.
I wouldn't say better but it's good
>want to buy a Pendulum 20th
>the cheapest is $250 used
I also wanted to get one, Winged Guardians. It's so expensive and obviously only available in Japanese which sucks.
Maybe it's just secluded to Ganker, but I've been seeing a lot more discussion about digimon world for the past months.
Same, hopefully zoomers didn't discover them
>new monster game gains traction
>oy, baka digimon, wtf are you guys doing? wheres the next game???
i mean its simple. digimon fans feel left out, i get it. the funniest part is palworld is a stranded human, not unlike digimon tamrs going to the digital world, so a survival game makes the easiest and most sense and yet digimon never made one LOL
I mean DW1 was pretty close, and ahead of its time in many ways. A modern DW1 10 years ago would've sweeped Pokemon.
>modern dw1 10 years ago
>pic related released in 2016
sure thing bro. your delusional. the initial game was never a hit success, more a niche cult classic but even then not really. sorry, you'll have to try way harder and more simple to "sweep" pokemon.
its no even about sweeping pokemon anyways, its about being relevant even remotely in gaming presence, enough to put out games on a bi-yearly basis, which its not.
When I say "a modern DW1" I mean a game that would be as ambitious and daring for its time, as DW1 was back then. Basically it would be Palworld except with Digimon and great aesthetics and music.
Minecraft was already one of the most popular games out 10 years ago, and Ark came out not long after, taking DW1's vision of surviving in an isekai full of monsters would probably be a hit in the mid-2010s when Pokemon just dipped its toes in 3D.
