my girlfriend always plays ninja gaiden BLACK and I feel kinda jealous, why isn't devil may cry good enough for her? I hate this fricking shit but I don't have the superior gamer genes to be a ninja gaiden black player...

Also Ninja Gaiden 2 is way better. Nioh is extremely good if you play with some kind of infinite stamina cheat, with infinite stamina it becomes a modernized ninja gaiden, stamina is anti-fun.

genuinely interested in knowing why people prefer 2, it felt kinda unfinished and lacked the polish which black had. the boss fights were mostly bad and the health regeneration mechanic was unnecessary too. also the cinematic limb cutting mechanic shit fricked up the flow of combat
I would argue the invulnerability phases in ninja gaiden 1 make the boss fights worse
NG2 master ninja was very fast paced. NG1 master ninja is very anticlimactic, felt more like an adventure game.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is probably my favorite 3d action game (or at the very least tied as it) but if you go around arguing it's better than Devil May Cry and starting moronic arguments about it then you're a moron because Ninja Gaiden is just so unique that you can't really compare it to anything else. It's pretty much the only game that nails fighting-game style offense/defense balancing, hitconfirms/punishes, spacing, blocking, grapples, etc. in a single player action game scenario (ironically the only game that comes close is like...zone of the enders with its attack/block/grapple/dodge/burst rps). Comparing it to Ninja Gaiden or Godhand or Shinobi or whatever is like comparing Mega Man to Mario. They're radically different types of games with radically different playstyles and focuses. You should be able to enjoy both.

Played (and beat) it back in 2004 before it was updated to "Black", rented it from Blockbuster. Alma was a moronicly hard boss, took me 6 hours of retries to take her down. Great game, very memorable. I was 16, life was so easy. Take me back.

On that note, I realized some time back a combo in 3RE I had thought of was actually in a webm and worked slightly differently compared to when I was doing it, but it seemed to work fine in both cases. The combo in question being with katana: ST, bow shot, running SSSSS. The arrow's explosion knocks enemies downwards if they're in the air, which lets them fall into the while running string, and my assumption was that you hit them when they're on the ground, but perhaps based on the timing of the shot you can catch them with the string before they land and juggle them. I plan on practicing it some more when I go back to the game as the latter might be more consistent but more difficult.
Why does KT hate Itagaki? Why can't we get the real Black and 2 ported?
