A lot of people are letting themselves fall out of higher PW tiers at this point and also we have upcoming Korean/Japanese whales so remember to check resonances before hitting quick battle.

Event story mode missions is the worst part of the event, who ever thought of this needs to be punched in the face.
Apparently the secret is to always refresh until cory's quiz pops out, but how do you refresh? Giving up forces you to wait for 3 mins.
idk, i just sucked up and did the events. they're all pretty easy, and the spy mission ones give more rewards. they're balanced around you not doing it that many times too, so one you buy out the tooth shop you're fine to ignore it outside of dailies

after looking around a bit they're all incredibly outdated or wrong. There are just too many modes and niche uses of espers at this point to really "rank" them cleanly but I threw one together really quick. Not sure if posting tier lists is allowed here so I catboxed it. If you want advice on a specific mode I can be more helpful.

speed, not really. avatara does great work on him though
It's normal to have somewhere between +40-120 speed but it's not his priority by any means. You want crit cap and cdmg, then HP%+, then spd. He's perfectly viable using Frost, Thunder, Nether, or Wind mainsets and Grove, Avatara, or Fiery offsets.

I finally acquired Lin Xiao from a shimmer record. It's my understanding that before Gaius showed up, she was the strongest damage dealer in the game. Is she still any good, and is she really as "easy to build" as people claim she is?

With that said LX's use kinda fizzled out mostly because of the game's moronicness with dps shimmers being nerfed in pve.
she's incredibly easy to build, just give her your hand-me-down relics from Gaius and get her speed slightly above his, but her use is limited to story/cube/towers, shadowfire, and phoebetor projection. Not bad by any means but not what it used to be. R6 giving her 40% CDMG is definitely strong but yeah good luck getting to R6 and you'd much rather have R6 Alice.

Shadow Decree isn't always evil. Basically the Eaper union sees having esper powers as having responsibility to helping those without. Shadow Decree basically says "you didn't ask for this" so it welcomes anyone from people who wanna use their powers for their own end to people who just want to survive

Why is it that some Espers need to transform into their attire, while others are in it 24/7? Embla always wore her esper attire, but Leora didn't in her story. Yamato transformed into his attire, but wore normal clothes when he didn't. Yuuhime is always in hers. It's very inconsistent.
idk, you can make it make sense. i'm assuming esper transformations are half constant and half weapon. like daniel can't stop being a centaur, but he can choose to summon his weapon. leora's shield things and whatever else you're talking about (didn't read her story) probably just count as the weapons aspect

I wish I could redo my Flaming Echo. The wording isn't great. It doesn't imply that you can only do it one time, only that it will require 50 record spins to do it again. I took the first esper I got.

Coin or coins doesn't make a different. Repeatable means they could intend you eventually get all 5. The limiting factor is you have to spin 50 records which isn't easy for everyone to do quickly. Hell, I don't even think I've spun 250 gr.

There's a progression system where you get resources to buy up improved stats and passives for your team. Give it time to accumulate points so you can power up.
Ahmed is one of the big three healers in the game, alongside Clara and Sally, one for each element. You basically need all three if you want to get serious about clearing content.
I already had Clara and Sally for a long time just never Ahmed. I wish point Ahmed because of thte stupid imprisoner crap and got to level 30, now i'm stuck here because you need SPEED but also HEALING and if i put a second healer i reach 100 stacks but they die after but if i put Yun Chuan (who is necesary!!!!!!!!) uh oh he does one of his super attacks 1 round early

you just know other people are clearing thtis content and are already on floor 100 because they have 5 imprisoner espers
this event is also made to accomodate Mateo who f***** has 35% speed which is NECESSARY for these boss battles AND he's an imprisoner esper, i hope they have trouble sleeping tonight for doing this.
technically you can only go up to floor 60 right now
and yeah the ones clearing day one have busted espers, but the event as a whole is clearable over time. there's a reason you get those upgrade nodes and resources. and hell I've seen people clear up to 60th floor with usually one or no imprisoners.
This is why I've long held a policy of if it isn't autoable it isn't worth doing (other than the monthly Hyde floor in TT). Having to sit there for 14+ minutes carefully planning your actions just to fail because your buff blocker didn't land or the boss decided to crit isn't worth the headache. I'm honestly more annoyed with reincarnation tower. The roster feels shitty compared to the previous one.
The core conceit of Reincarnation Tower hasn't changed since it was first introduced: randomly draft a team of Espers, upgrade and replace as you go. The only difference this time is that there's one shop to cover four characters, and the banner esper is a guaranteed drop at a certain level and gets extra bonuses on that ladder.
It doesn't change that Reincarnation Tower is the single most popular/highly-regarded temporary gameplay mode in the game's lifetime. Why else do you think they brought back an extended version of it for the anniversary?
No it's the roster this time. During Yuuhime you get a bunch of dps and very few support and control. In Mateo you get more supports, so it becomes really annoying. No Triki too.

Get as far as you can with the messenger, use the points you earn from the stages and event-specific dailies and the AFK rewards to build up your talent tree and power up, and eventually cash out with a run on the Chimera for the big rewards. It will get more involved as the weeks go on as more messengers and talent trees open up.

if you're not saving for anyone specific, go for it. there's always a chance to get who you want later. if you have any other single target inferno dps espers like embla or even drew, you don't really need brewster

always remember that levels improve raw stats (barring SPD), so characters that need them the most are fighters for additional damage
supporters can generally stay 50 since they rely more on their abilities

Mateo is very good, he has a 35% SPD lead for desolate lands and ritual miracle aka Fafnir. Basically all the speedclear spire teams have a Mateo and Yun Chuan on them. Even outside of the anomaly, he is likely going to be a staple in future event boss content since he comes with important dispelling and buff stealing in his kit. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good Mateo is because I did have the fear he wouldn't do much outside of the event. If you don't care about improving Deso/Fafnir scores and the event leaderboards, you can skip Mateo but I think it's worth having him because he does have longevity.

Stuck in the spatial tower. Is floor 77 meant to just be a straight dps check that I need levels and gear for, or is there some better way to deal with the Helena/Chloe spam?
What's your team? You can also just outspeed and CC them but you shouldn't have too much trouble outdamaging Helena heals. I'm sure having an attack lead with your starter legendary and some fast AP pusher and CCer like Pritzker, Melanie, Jeanne, Long Mian, etc.
Was using Long Mian and anything I could try on the outspeed and cc front without waiting for a pod slot. Healing was less of a problem than the automatic dispels, ap up, and consequent buff stripping. Sounds like I'm mostly having a levels/damage problem because my flow dps normally comes from Mona and Jiang Man.
If you have a good Tyranny/stun set, I'd put it on Jiang Man since she's a good user of that set. She'll probably stun the Helenas too on her S3 since they're on the slower side so they won't heal/dispel too much.
Bring lots of CC in tower. If you haven't, go grab Lucas.
Working on it, but the early midgame grind of endless runs for the exp and asc materials is awful and I'm not spending real money on stamina or exp. I really wish I had waited for a few legendaries more before I used my first wish on Gabi, because I feel borderline bricked without Gaius.

Your wish stones aren't going anywhere, so if you're waiting for an Esper, you might as well hold on.
Generally depends on where your account is at. If most/all of your leggos are R0, I wouldn't bother with the resonance wish pool and just focus on getting new/unowned units that will boost your account overall. You should try to get important resonances like R2s through your club ripples.

They don't. The next messenger will show up with a new talent tree for you to build out, but you will still continue collecting resources for the first talent tree. The whole idea is that you build up three teams, each with their own respective suite of buffs, to take on the Chimera in a three-headed superboss format.

Kronos, Apep and Fafnir are where you mainly wanna focus your resources at first, Kronos in particular.
Resonances are important and p2w as frick, with several characters being in entirely different tiers depending on whether you get 3 copies or not, so keep that in mind before deciding to go for a character. Reroll or save your wish for Gaius, because he's still the best dps in the game, even at r0. I fricked that up and really regret it. You will be grinding for a while if you want to get to endgame content. I've been playing for a few weeks and I'm still doing purgatory and <12 ritual miracles.

Counter tanks aren't inherently bad, but it's not a great implementation. My second favorite Ginny moment so far is her sitting alone in the reincarnation tower against Sally, Jin Yuyao, and two Jiang Jiulis, watching them trigger demon mode again and again while nothing fricking happens because of the turbo heals, taunts, and stuns.

Which is generally more important for midgame, ascensions 4-6 or leveling 50-60? I'm having trouble optimizing because I want too many espers built for different content.
Finishing your ascensions isn't hard, assuming you're running Sonic Miracle to get the supplies you need. Committing to a 6* rank up for an Esper is harder since Starimons are more scarce than they used to be, so it's a bigger commitment. That said, eventually, you will have to do that upgrade.
So how did you all end up building Javid? He ended being slower than most of my attackers so I had him switch to a speed build but doing much less damage
Speed set with a focus on 100% crit rate,ATK and ACC also I have him with Avatara
he's a support fighter
I gave him a speedy ocean waves so he'll come up first to inflict judgment seal on his enemies
+90 spd, 3.2k ATK, 150%CDMG War/Fiery for now, but I want more speed/ATK and his CDMG can be whatever honestly. He does the most damage when he's surrounded by multi-hitting AP controllers and CD reset espers and makes infinity tower incredibly braindead

Rainbow Bridge is one of the most stacked buffs in the entire game and she is arguably better than Gaius in the very late game, Zora can barely compete with Jiang Man and Xie Chuyi, the hell are you smoking
Mostly frustration with Celestial Anomaly. I'm still spending most of my stamina leveling and ascending espers for late game content, and everything but CA was walled pretty hard for me or cost stamina that I needed elsewhere. Of course I'm probably walled there now, but at least I don't have to reset Void Messenger every time Chloe doesn't land her buff block either way.
Also, I apparently used up most of my luck getting Mateo, R2 Ahmed and R2 Yun Chuan off rolls in my first month playing which might have shaped my impressions.
Celestial Anomaly is whale content. It's heavily reliant on resonances. There is literally a stat on the skill tree that gives buffs the more resonances an esper has. Don't stress too much about it, Yamato isn't worth the effort anyway.

I feel like Javid is another Tevor situation where the devs intentionally sabotaged his kit so they didn't have to think about any potential influence on the pvp meta. It's baffling that they signed off on Eternal Light when its two main components, Sacred Flame and Judgement Seal, are either completely nullified or self-sabotaging to apply in so many situations. I love him to death but holy frick the devs did everything to make him as ineffective as possible.

Valeria seems to have her niche as a speed attacker, like Sanders. Being able to buff her own speed with the ult, and also controlling the opponents AP with S1 and S3. S2's a passive that grants her 2 buffs, basic attack up and damage negation. When the latter pops she gains AP.
I'd say she doesn't really compete with Gaius, Leora, or Intisar since she has a different focus in her gameplan. But I also can see people calling her trash since people mainly want raw damage, not utility.
Ae-girln focuses on bleed. If the enemy cleanses bleed his CD's decreased, S3's a dispel alongside inflicting bleed per hit, also gains Stealth, and S1 also inflicts bleed and triggers all stacks of bleed. And to imagine Pazuzu's been interpeted as a lion twice this year.

Valeria right now is competing with Brewster and Embla in the wish selection, sorta like Javid. Wish they thought about this before.
I don’t follow a lot of the lore/story in this game since it’s so badly conveyed but I can’t help but feel like that last event dropped quite the bomb in revealing that there’s an esper (Javid) can just straight up bend reality to follow his rules like it’s the New Order power from MHA but I guess not as actually broken.
Javid is powered up by the sliver of a Miramon's core he stole, but otherwise, he's immediately written out of the story by cementing him as the only thing holding back the Withering Miracle in his hole.

He really is. Tang Xuan is explicitly characterized as the golden boy of the Esper Union with a pure heart (Discboom comments his soul record is spotless) and lots of power and heroics to his name. It also helps that Sun Wukong is the single most globally famous Chinese myth, so he's got that going for him.
That said, Valeria's story campaign will be starring Brynn.
But why does he have a 4 sleeves?
Brynn still stands out as a potential protagonist. If you were to write a young adult novel about Dislyte, Brynn would absolutely be the protagonist, even if you go so far as to adapt the base campaign where she awakens her powers, learns the ropes of Esperhood with a gaggle of new allies, and takes on the Shadow Decree directly to bust a conspiracy and save her best friend.
And before anyone comments about her dialogue, they apparently fixed that. When they added voice acting to the base campaign, they redid the script so nearly all of Brynn's "freaking" lines got scrubbed and redone.
