In all subsequent interviews, the only question about it was: "Why are you looking for a new job?" -> "My role was eliminated as part of a company-wide layoff that removed over 3,000 roles." -> "Wow, that sucks! Anyways, for this position, we're looking for..." People get laid off, it's not this massive black mark on your resume. It looks a lot better than burning out and quitting your role, though a savvy enough person can effortlessly spin that, too.
