DKC1 has the best pacing and flow of the DKC games. It may have less high points than 2 or TF but it's a consistent game that's just fun and pure platforming for the whole hour and 30 minute runtime, and very replayable due to its short length and lack of gimmicks that slow down the game
Based DK enjoyer.
2 suffers from essentially playing as two Diddy Kongs and way too many gimmick levels. 3 goes even further into gimmick hell.
That game is 90 minutes long? Wtf I can’t play video games for shit
For a normal person it's way longer.
Ok thank god. Sometimes I hear people talk about beating every game on some tight schedule but it never works that way for me
That just means you take in everything you play. Nothing wrong with that, anon.
Always remember that HLTB averages tend to shave 20% off the actual length of a normal playthrough die to tryhards clocking their times in.
Honestly I just don’t start games assuming I’ll finish them in the same sitting, and I die a bit. So usually I just play a game like DKC for 40 minutes or so and figure that’s meant to be the length of a session
Guess I'm in the not-normal group. Played the shit out of DKC1 on the SNES back in the day. Didn't touch it for 20 years until I got it again on the Wii U. Proceeded to blow through it in about an hour. Granted, thats without 101% of course.
Yeah no shit, you memorized the game and intuitively speed run it. You’re an expert dug
1 is also the only one thats a fricking left-to-right platformer. 2 has a dickload of vertical levels and stupid fricking animal levels. 3 has mazes and even more animals and gimmicks.
1's the only game of the DKC Trilogy I ever truly enjoyed playing and replaying. Shoutout to DK Land 1. That game was pretty good.
Is my least favorite of the three but a great game nonetheless
Very true, I go to a pub with an SNES and every time I go I always boot up DKC1 and see how far I can get. It just flows so well.
Can confirm, I've been there to stand up and clap for him.
I think anon means the pub has a SNES that boots many games, not that he takes his SNES to the pub.
I considered that after posting, but even a bar having a SNES randomly hooked up seems like a tall tale.
It's the manager SNES classic, I don't know why It's even there but it's available to play for anyone over 18. It's weird and kinda tucked away in a corner but it's cool
Huh. Guess it's cheaper than an arcade cabinet or love tester or whatever.
You have to remember that most people who grew up on SNES are reaching their mid 30s.
>hour and 30 minute runtime
Opinion discarded. Speedtrannies all need to kys
